oṃ namo ratnatrayāya |
kimarthamidaṃ śāstramārabdham | skandhā donārabhya kati kasmādityevamādiṣu cintā sthāneṣu kauśalyakaraṇārtham | tathāhyanena kauśalyena dvividho'nuśaṃso labhyate -manaskārānuśaṃsaṃḥ sāṃkathyaviniścayānuśaṃsaśca | tatra manaskārānuśaṃsaḥ śamathānukūlyādvipaśyanāvṛddhayānukūlyācca veditavyaḥ | śamathānukūlyaṃ punareṣū sthāneṣu kṛtakauśalasya niḥsaṃdehatayā yatheṣṭamālaṃvane ai kāgrayayogena sukhaṃ cittasamā dhānataḥ | vipaśyanāvṛddhayānu kūlyaṃ bahubhiḥ prakāraiḥ jñeyaparīkṣayā prajñāprakarṣagamanataḥ | sāṃkathyaviniścayānuśaṃsa eṣu sthāneṣu kuśa lasya sarvapraśnavyākaraṇaśaktiyogādvaiśāradyapratilaṃbhato draṣṭavyaḥ ||
pañcākārātmavastūdbhāvanatāmupādāyetyatracaturākāramātmano vastvityātmavastu | pañcamaṃ tvātmalakṣaṇameva vastvityātmavastviti veditavyam | saparigrahadehagrahaṇena bāhyasyādhyātmikasya ca rūpaskandhasya grahaṇaṃ veditavyam | vedanādīnāmupabhogāditvaṃ tallakṣaṇanirdeśe jñāpayiṣyate | tadāśrayātmasvavastu vijñānam, teṣāṃ saparigrahadehādīnāmāśrayamātmalakṣaṇaṃ vastvityarthaḥ | tathāhi loke prāyeṇa vijñāne ātmagrāhaḥ, śeṣeṣvātmīyagrāha iti ||
dehaparigrahābhyāmiti cakṣu[rādī] ndriyaṣaṭkena rūpādiviṣayaṣaṭkena ca | ṣaḍākāro'tīto vartamānaścopabhogo vijñānaṣaṭkam, tasya dhāraṇamāśrayālaṃvana bhāvataḥ | ityevaṃ taddhā raṇatvena dvādaśānāmindriyaviṣayāṇāṃ dhātutvam |
vijñānānāṃ punarupabhogalakṣaṇa dhāraṇatvena dhātutvaṃ veditavyam | yathā'tītapratyutpannāḥ cakṣurādaya upabhogalakṣaṇadhārakā nai vamanāgatāḥ - 2 ||
āyadvāramātratvādindriyārthamātragrahaṇena dvādaśaivāyatanāni vyavasthā pitāni, na tūpabhogalakṣaṇaṃ vijñānaṣaṭkamiti ||
upādānaṃ chando rāgaśca | tatra chando'bhilāṣaḥ, rāgo'dhyavasānam | chandenānāgatamātmabhāvamabhilāṣamukhenopādatte, yenānāgatān skandhānabhinirvarttayati | rāgena vartamānamātmabhāvamadhyavasānamukhenopādatte, yena vartamānān skandhānna parityajati | tasmādetadeva dvayamupādānamityucyate | tatra skandhavannirdeśa iti | upādānena yuktāstasmātsopādānadharmā iti veditavyam ||
sparśena rūpāṇāmanyathībhāvo veditavyaḥ | yā deśe ityabhi mukhapradeśe | idaṃ cedaṃ cetyasthiśaṃkalā dikaṃ jñeyavastusabhāgaṃ pratibimbam | evaṃ caivaṃ ceti varṇasaṃsthānabhedaiḥ citrīkārateti tathāsaṃjñā | śubhānāṃ karmaṇāṃ sukho'nubhavaḥ phalavipākaḥ | aśubhānāṃ duḥkhaḥ | ubhayeṣāmaduḥkhāsukhaḥ | tathāhi śubhānāmaśubhānāṃ vā vipāka ālayavi jñānaṃ nityamupekṣayaiva saṃprayuktaṃ bhavati | saiva cātropekṣā vipākaḥ | sukhaduḥkhayostu vipākajatvādvipākopacāraḥ | dṛṣṭaśrutatamavijñātānarthāniti dṛṣṭaṃ yacca kṣuṣānubhūtam, śrutaṃ yacchrotreṇānubhūtam, mataṃ yatsvayamabhyūhitamevaṃ caivaṃ ca bhavitavyamiti, vijñātaṃ yatpratyātmamanubhūtamiti | vyavaharatītyabhilāpaiḥ prāpa[ya]tītyarthaḥ || nānāvasthāsu ceti sukhaduḥkhādyāsu ||
yena cakṣuṣā rūpāṇi dṛṣṭavānityatītavijñānopabhogadhārakatvena dhātutva darśayati | pa śyatīti vartamānavijñānopabhoga dhārakatvena | yacca tasya cakṣuṣo bījamupacitamālayavijñānaṃ yata āyatyāṃ cakṣunirvartiṣyate, vaipākyaṃ ca yato nirvṛttam, tadapi dvividhaṃ bījaṃ cakṣurdhāturityucyate, cakṣuṣo hetutvāt | yaccakṣurdhātoḥ rūpe ādhipatyamiti rūpī ndriyādhipatyena bāhyaviṣayanirvartanāt |
taddhātuvaddraṣṭavyaṃ tacca yathāyogamiti yena cakṣuṣā rūpāṇi drakṣyati yacca tadbījamityevamādi yojayitavyam ||
catvāri ca mahābhūtānyupādāyeti | kathamupādāyarūpam | catvāri mahābhūtānyupādāya jananasaṃniśrayapratiṣṭhopastaṃbhopabṛṃhaṇahetutvena | jananādi hetutvaṃ punarbhūtānāmupādāyarūpe pañcavidhaṃ hetutvamadhikṛtya | utpattihetutvaṃ tairvinā tadanutpatteḥ | vṛttihetutvaṃ bhūtāni pratyākhyāyopādāyarūpasya pṛthagdeśā vaṣṭambhasāma rthyābhāvāt | anuvṛttihetutvaṃ bhūtavikāreṇa tatpratiṣṭhitopādāyarūpavikriyāgamanāt | sthitihetutvaṃ sadṛśotpattikāle bhūtairupādāyarūpasaṃtānasyānupacchedayogena saṃdhāraṇāt | upacayahetutvaṃ vṛtti kāle bhūtairūpādāyarūpāpyāyanāditi |
nīlādīnāṃ pañcaviṃśatīnāṃ rūpāṇāṃ vyavasthānaṃ ṣaḍbhirākārairveditavyam | lakṣaṇataḥ saṃniveśato 'nugrahopaghātataḥ kriyāsaṃniśrayataḥ kriyālakṣaṇataḥ maṇḍanataśca caturṇā daśānāmaṣṭānāmekai kasya ca yathākramam | tatrābhyavakāśastadanyaprativārakaspraṣṭavyarahito yo deśaḥ | nabho yadupariṣṭānnīlaṃ dṛśyate ||
śabdavyavasthānaṃ lakṣaṇato'nugrahopaghātataḥ hetuprabhedato deśanāprabhedato vyavahāraprabhedataśca | lakṣaṇataḥ śrotrendriyagrāhyo yo'rtha iti | deśanāprabhedato lokaprasiddhādayastrayaḥ | śeṣaṃ yathāyogaṃ veditavyam | tatropāttamahābhūtahetukastadyathā vākchabdaḥ | anupāttamahābhūtahetukastadyathā vṛkṣa śabdaḥ | tadubhayastadyathā hastamṛdaṅga śabdaḥ | lokaprasiddho laukikabhāṣāsaṃgṛhītaḥ | siddhopanīta āryerdeśitaḥ | parikalpitastīrthyerdeśitaḥ | āryānāryavyāvahārikau tudṛṣṭādīnaṣṭau vyavahārānadhikṛtya veditavyau ||
gandhavyavasthānaṃ svalakṣaṇato'nugrahopaghātataḥ prabhedataśca || rasavyavasthānamapyevameva veditavyam || tatra sahajo gandhaścandanādonām, sāṃyogiko dhūpayuktyadīnām, pāriṇāmikaḥ pakvaphalādīnāmiti |
spraṣṭavyaikadeśavyavasthānamāmarśanata ātulanataḥ sparśanata āpīḍanataḥ saṃsargato dhātuvaiṣamya sāmyataśca | abvāyusaṃsa rgācchītam | appṛthavīsaṃsargātpicchalam | viśrāmo balamūrjā ca dhātusāmyāt | ūrjā punarvaiśāradyaṃ veditavyam | tṛptirubhayathā | śeṣā jighatsādayo dhātuvaiṣamyādveditavyāḥ ||
ābhisāṃkṣepikaṃ paramāṇurūpam | ābhyavakāśikaṃ tadeva yathoktaṃ tadanyaprativārakaspraṣṭavyarahitam | sāmādānikamavijñaptirūpam | parikalpitaṃ pratibimbarūpam | vaibhūtvikaṃ vimokṣadhyāyigocaraṃ yadrūpam |
vedanāskandhavyavasthānamāśrayataḥ svabhāvata āśrayasaṃkalanataḥ saṃkleśavyavadānataśca | tatra rūpāśrayasaṃkalanataḥ kāyikīvedanāvyavasthānam | arūpyāśraya saṃkalanataścaitasi kīvedanāvyavasthānam | saṃkleśataḥ sāmiṣādīnām, vyavadānato nirāmiṣādīnāṃ vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam | tattṛṣṇāviyukteti visaṃyuktā visaṃyogyānukūlā ca veditavyā ||
avyavahārakuśalasyāśikṣita bhāṣatayā rūpe saṃjñā bhavati na tu rūpamiti | tasmādanimittasaṃjñetyucyate | animittadhātusamāpannasya rūpādisarva nimittā pagate'nimitte nirvāṇe saṃjñā'nimittasaṃjñā | bhavāgrasamāpannasyā paṭutvenālaṃvanānimittīkaraṇādanimittasaṃjñā | parīttaḥ kāmadhātuḥ nikṛṣṭa tvāt | mahadgato rūpadhātustata utkṛṣṭatvāt | apramāṇe ākāśa vijñānānantyāyatane'paryantatvāt | tasmāttadālaṃvanāḥ saṃjñāḥ parīttādisaṃjñā veditavyāḥ |
vedanāsaṃjñāvarjyānāṃ sarveṣāṃ caitasikānāṃ cittaviprayuktānāṃ ca saṃskāraskandhalakṣaṇatve cetanāmātrasyaiva tannidaśe grahaṇaṃ tatpūrvakatvāditareṣāmiti kāraṇajñāpanārthamāha - yayā kuśalatvāya cetayata ityevamādi | tatra kuśalā vakṣyamāṇāḥ śraddhādayaḥ | saṃkleśā rāgādayaḥ kleśopa kleśāḥ | avasthābhedataḥ cetanāpreritasaṃskārāvasyāsu prajñaptāḥ cittaviprayuktāḥ saṃskārāḥ ||
cetanādīnāṃ caitasikānāṃ lakṣaṇataḥ karmataśca nirdeśo veditavyaḥ | tatra cetanāyāḥ cittābhisaṃskāro manaskarmeti lakṣaṇanirdeśaḥ | kuśalākuśalāvyākṛteṣu cittapreraṇakarmiketi karmanirdeśaḥ | tathāhi yathābhisaṃskāraṃ kuśalādiṣu dharmeṣu cittasya pravṛttirbhavatīti | ālaṃbane cittadhāraṇaṃ tatraiva punaḥ punarāvarjanaṃ veditavyam | ata eva samādhilābhī mana(ḥ) saṃskāralābhītyucyate | vijñānotpattāvindriyasya sukhādivedanotpattyanukūlo yo vikārastadākāraḥ sparśo veditavyaḥ | tatta dupasaṃhitā kartukāmateti darśanaśravaṇādisarvakriyecchāsaṃgrahārtham | yathāniścayaṃ dhāraṇā evametannānyathetyadhimuktiḥ | ata eva tatpradhāno'nyaiḥ saṃhartu na śakyate saṃstu taṃ vastu pūrvānubhūtaṃ veditavyam | avikṣepakarmikatvaṃ punaḥ smṛte rālaṃvanābhilapanesati cittāvikṣepatāmupādāya | cittasyaikāgratā'vikṣepaḥ | jñānasaṃniśrayadānaṃ samāhitacittasya yathābhūtajñānāt | saṃśayavyāvartanaṃ prajñayā dharmān pravicinvato niścayalābhāt | astitve'bhisaṃpratyayākārā śraddhā | guṇatve prasādākārā | śakyatve'bhilāṣākārā, śakyaṃ mayā prāptuṃ niṣpādayituṃ veti | hrayādayaḥ sugamatvānna vibhajyante | upapattiprātilambhikaṃ śrutacintāmayaṃ bhāvanāmayaṃ ca yathākramaṃ vipākāgamādhigamarūpaṃ veditavyam | pratisaṃkhyāprajñā dhairyasa hitā | sthāmavānvīryavānutsāhī dṛḍhaparākramo'nikṣiptadhuraḥ kuśaleṣu dharmeṣvityevamādisūtrapadāni yathākramaṃ saṃnāhādiṣvabhyutsāhavastuṣu yojayitavyāni | paripūraṇaṃya thā maulaṃ praveśaḥ | niṣpādanaṃ tasyaiva suparikarmakṛtatvam | sarvāvaraṇaniṣkarṣaṇaṃ tadvaśenāśrayaparivṛttito draṣṭavyam | sarvakuśalabhāvanāyā vīryādipūrvakatvātteṣvapramādaprajñapti | sāstravā dharmā āstravā āsravasthānīyāśca viṣayā iha veditavyāḥ | cittasamatādibhirupekṣāyā ādima dhyāvasānāvasthā vyākhyātāḥ | tathāhyupekṣayā yuktaṃ cittaṃ layādiveṣamyābhāvādāditaḥ samam | tato'nabhisaṃskāreṇa vahanātpraśaṭham | tataḥ saṃkleśāśaṅkābhāvādanābhogāvasthitamiti | a vihiṃsā pyadveṣāvyatirekāt prajñaptisatī veditavyā | duḥkhasaṃjananakarmaka iti tṛṣṇāvaśena pañcopādānaskandha nirvartanāt | asparśavihāra āghātacittasya duḥkha vihārāt | agauravaṃ guruṣu guṇavatsu ca stabdhatā | duḥkhotpattiḥ punarbhavotpattirvedi tavyā | mithyāniścayairviparītaṃ jñānam | vicikitsā saṃśayaḥ | saṃkleśotpattiḥ rāgādikleśasamudācāraḥ | tatsaṃniśrayadānaṃ mūḍhasya sarvakleśapravṛtteriti | ratneṣu vimatirmārgasatye nirodhasatye ca yathāyogam | tayā kuśalapakṣe'pravṛttiralabdhaniścayasyānārambhāt ||
madhyamā pratipacchāśvatocchedagrāhavarjitaṃ pratītyasamutpādajñānam | śīlavrataṃ kudṛṣṭipūrvakaṃ veditavyama | śramavaiphalyaṃ tenāniryāṇāt | nāsti dattaṃ nāstīṣṭaṃ nāsti kṛtaṃ nāsti sucaritaṃ nāsti duścaritamityayaṃ hetvapavādaḥ | nāsti duścaritasucaritānāṃ karmaṇāṃ phalavipāka iti phalāpavādaḥ | nāstyayaṃ loko nāsti paraloko nāsti mātā nāsti pitā nāsti sattva upapāduka iti kriyāpavādaḥ, lokāntaragamanāgamanakriyāyā bījādhānakriyāyāḥ pratisaṃdhibandhakriyāyāścā pavādāt | na santi loke'rhanta ityevamādi sadvastunāśanam | tadanyadyat kiṃcidviparītadarśanaṃ tanmithyā pari kalpanaṃ veditavyam | kuśalamūlasamucchedo viśiṣṭāyā eva mithyādṛṣṭerna sarvasyāḥ |
pañcaskandhātmake jñeye ātmātmīyasvabhāvasamāropikā satkāyadṛṣṭiḥ | ātmanityānityaviśeṣasamāropikā'ntagrāhadṛṣṭiḥ | kudṛṣṭāvagratā samāropako dṛṣṭiparāmarśaḥ | tatraiva śuddhi samāropakaḥ śīlavrataparāmarśaḥ | ekā yadbhūyaseti mithyāvikalpikā yā nāvaśyamapavādikatvāt | lakṣaṇato dvābhyāmantagrāhamithyādṛṣṭibhyām, saparivārataḥ sarvābhyaḥ |
rūpādayo nātmā, tadvilakṣaṇatvāt na hi te ātmalakṣaṇā iti | na teṣvātmā, anityatādoṣāt | na hyāśrayābhāve āśritaṃ bhavatīti | na rūpavānātmā, asvātantryadoṣaprasaṅgāt | na tebhyo'nyatrātmā, nirdehatādoṣāt | na hi vinā dehenā tmaparikalpa upalabhyata iti | asvātantryatādoṣaḥ teṣvavaśavartanāt | athaivaṃvidhamātmānaṃ kaścitparikalpayet tathāpi nopapadyate'rūpādika ātmā, ayatnato mokṣadoṣāt | dehādibandhanābhāve hi svarasenaiva mokṣaḥ syāditi ||
rūpāmātmeti samanupaśyati vedanāṃ saṃjñāṃ saṃskārān vijñānamātmeti samanupaśyatītyetāḥ pañcātmadṛṣṭayaḥ | śeṣāḥ pañcadaśātmīyadṛṣṭayaḥ ||
rūpavān yāvadvijñānavāniti saṃbandhenātmīyatā, sā hi tatsaṃvandhā ttadvān bhavatīti | ātmīyaṃ rūpaṃ yāvadvijñānamiti vaśavarttyātmīyatāmupādāya , yasya hi yadvaśena vartate dāne viniyoge vā tasya tadātmīyamityucyate | rūpe yāvadvijñāne ātmetyavinirbhāgavṛttyātmīyatā, ayamātmāeṣvanusṛto vistṛtaḥ prakṣipto'ṅgāṅgānusārigata iti parikalpanāt ||
anirūpitavastukatvaṃ punā rūpamityevamādilakṣaṇaṃ nirūpayata ātmadṛṣṭeranavakāśāt | tadyathā rajjuṃ sarpato gṛhṇāti kaścit sahasā, na punā rajjuriti nirūpayaṃstāṃ sarpato gṛhṇīyāditi ||
krodhādayaḥ prajñaptisanto veditavyāḥ, pratighātādi vyatirekeṇābhāvāt || tadūrdhvamiti krodhādūrdhvam | akṣāntirapakārāmarṣaṇam | dharmataiṣā yadavadyaṃ praticchādayataḥ kaukṛtyam, ataścāsparśavihāra iti | uccapragāḍhapāruṣyavacanaṃ paramarmaghaṭṭanayogena pratyakṣaravāditā | asaṃlekho mātsaryeṇānupayujyamānānāmapyupakaraṇānāṃ saṃnicayādveditavyaḥ | bhūtadoṣavimālanā anyenānyasya pratisaraṇaṃ veditavyam | samyagavavādalābhaparipanthakarmakatvaṃ yathābhūtamātmānamanāviṣkṛtyāvavā dāyogyatvāt | dīrghāyuṣkalakṣaṇagrahaṇaṃ tadvikalpanādamaravitarkapūrvakaṃ jīvitamadotpatteḥ | anyatamānyatamā sāstravā saṃpattiḥ kulavalarūpamedhābuddhibhogaiśvaryādikā veditavyā | rāgāṃśikaṃ nāndīsaumanasyaṃ saṃkliṣṭo harṣaviśeṣaḥ | śubhanimittamanusarato rāgānukūlaṃ pūrvahasitaramitakrīḍitānusmaraṇāt cittasyānupaśamo veditavyaḥ kausīdyasaṃniśrayadānakarmakatvamaśraddadhānasya prayogacchandābhāvāt | asaṃviditā kāyavākcittacaryā'bhi kramapratikramādiṣu samyagapratyavekṣitatayā veditavyā | evaṃ hyasya karaṇīyākaraṇīyājñānā dāpattayo bhavantīti ||
svabhāvavikṣepaḥ pañcavijñānakāyāḥ, prakṛtyaivādhyātmaṃ samādhātumaśakyatvāt | bahirdhāvikṣepaḥ śrutādikuśale prayuktasya tadālaṃbanādbahiḥ kāmaguṇeṣu cittagamanaṃ veditavyam | adhyātmavikṣepaḥ sa mādhiprayuktasyaiva taccyutikarau layauddhatyamāsvādanā ca | nimittavikṣepaḥ pare māṃ guṇavattayā saṃbhāvayiṣyantītyetannimittametadartha kuśalaprayuktasya śanaiḥ tatparihāṇito veditavyaḥ | dauṣṭhulya vikṣepo'haṃkārādidauṣṭhulyavaśādutpannotpanneṣu sukhādiṣu vediteṣvahaṃ mama asmīti vā karaṇāt kuśalapakṣāpariśuddhito veditavyaḥ | āditastathodgrahaṇamudgrahaḥ | vyavakira ṇā tadūrdhva tena cittasaṃtānasya miśrībhāvaḥ | nimittīkāraḥ tasyaiva veditasya punaḥ punaścitrīkāro veditavyaḥ | manaskāravikṣepaḥ samāpattyantaraṃ vā samāpadyamānasya dhyānāntaraṃ vā saṃśrayataḥ pūrvasmāddhyutthānato veditavyaḥ | vairāgyaparipanthakarmaka ityupakleśātmakaṃ vikṣepamadhikṛtya ||
middhanimittaṃ tadyathā daurbalyam, śramaḥ, kāyagauravaḥ, andhakāranimittasya manasikaraṇam, sarvārambhāṇāmadhyupekṣaṇam punaḥ punastatkālanidrābhyāsaḥ, mantrabalena parainidropasaṃhārastathā saṃvāhanā dibhirveti | mohāṃśika iti samādhito viśeṣaṇārtham | kuśalā(di) bhāvavacanaṃ na tvavaśyaṃ mohātmaka iti kṛtvā | kāla iti rātryā madhyame yāme | akālastato'nyaḥ | yuktaṃ kāle yathānujñam, akāle'pi glānasya karmaṇyatārtha vā | ayuktastato'nyaḥ | kṛtyātipattisaṃniśrayadānamupakleśātmakasya middhasya veditavyaḥ | anabhipretaṃ karaṇamabhipretapūrvikā sucaritaduścaritakriyā, anabhipretaṃ karaṇaṃ parairbalādavaṣṭabhya kāryamāṇasya kleśābhibhavādvā yathāyogaṃ veditavyam | mohāṃśika ityupakleśa saṃgṛhītaḥ | kāle yāvanna prativiramati, akāle tadūrdhvam | yuktaṃ sthāne, ayuktamasthāne | cetanāṃ vā niśritya prajñāṃ vetyanabhyūhābhyūhāvasthāyāṃ yathākramam | paryeṣaṇākārā manaso'bhijalpanā vitarkaḥ pratyavekṣaṇākārā manaso'bhijalpanā'nu vicāra iti || tāveva vitarkavicārau saṃvadhyete, audārikasūkṣmavyavasthānādanayoḥ ||
tadyathā'lobhasya lobhaprahāṇam, śraddhā yā āśraddhayaprahāṇam | rāgapratipakṣo vairāgyam, tasya paripanthakaraṇam , tasya tena tadutpattāvantarāyakaraṇāt | evaṃ krodhādīnāmapyupakleśānāṃ maitryādyātmīya pratipakṣāntarāyakaraṇaṃ veditavyam ||
cittaviprayuktānāṃ saṃskārāṇāmadhiṣṭhānataḥ svabhāvataḥ prajñaptitaśca nirdeśo veditavyaḥ | asaṃjñisamāpattinirodhasamāpattī bhūmito'pi niḥsaraṇavihārasaṃjñāpūrvakābhyāṃ manaskārābhyāmapi nirdiṣṭe | āsaṃjñikaṃ manaskāravarjyairebhireva | śeṣā adhiṣṭhānādibhistribhireva |
tatra kuśalākuśalā nāṃ dharmāṇāmityadhiṣṭhānanirdeśaḥ | ācayāpacaya iti svabhāvanirdeśaḥ | tathāhyācaye'dhimātraiḥ śraddhādibhiḥ samanvā gata ityucyate | apacaye sati mṛdubhiriti | prāptiḥ pratilambhaḥ samāgama iti prajñaptiriti prajñaptinirdeśaḥ | evamanyeṣvapi yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyam ||
śubhakṛtsnavītarāgasyeti tṛtīyadhyānavītarāgasya | uparyavītarāgasyeti caturthadhyānāvītarāgasya | niḥsaraṇasaṃjñāpūrvakeṇeti mokṣasaṃjñāpūrvakeṇa | asthāvarāṇāmiti pravṛttivijñānasaṅgṛhītānām | nirodha iti samāpatticittakṛtaḥ kālāntaramasthāvaracittacaittasamudācāranirodho āśrayasyāvasthāviśeṣo nirudhyate'neneti kṛtvā | nirodhasamāpattāvuparyavītarāgasyetyavacanai bhavāgravīta rāgasyārhato'pi tatsaṃbhavāt | tadekatyānāṃ ca sthāvarāṇāmiti kliṣṭamanaḥsaṃgṛhītānām | ete ca samāpattī bhūmitaḥ manaskārato'dhiṣṭhānataḥ svabhāvataḥ prajñaptitaśca nirdeṣṭe āsaṃjñikaṃ manaskāravarjairebhireva | śeṣā adhiṣṭhānādibhistribhireva ||
nikāyasabhāga ekajanmikaḥ skandhasaṃtānaḥ | sthitikālaniyama iyantaṃ kālamanenāsmin nikāyasabhāge'vasthātavyaṃ varṣaśataṃ varṣasahastraṃ veti karmakṛtaḥ sāmarthyaviśeṣaḥ |
tasmistasmin sattvanikāya iti devamanuṣyādiṣu sattvajātiṣu | ātmabhāvasadṛśatāyāmityekajātīyatāyām |
bāhyasyāpi rūpasya jātimattve nikāyasabhāgamātragrahaṇaṃ sattvasaṃtāne lakṣaṇaprajñaptijñāpanārtham | bāhyaṃ hi rūpaṃ saṃvarttavivarttaprabhāvitamā dhyātmikāstu jātijarādiprabhāvitā iti | prabandhavināśo maraṇaṃ veditavyam | ete ca jātyādayo na pratikṣaṇaṃ veditavyāḥ kiṃtarhi prabandhāvasthāsviti |
svabhāvādhivacanaṃ cakṣuḥ śrotraṃ devo manuṣya ityevamādi | viśeṣādhivacanaṃ sarvasaṃskārā anityāḥ sarvasattvā mariṣyantītyevamādi | tadubhayāśrayeṣvi ti svabhāvaviśeṣādhivacanāśrayeṣvakṣareṣu a i u ityevamā daṣu | etāvacca sarva yaduta svabhāvo vi śeṣastadubhayavyavahāraśca, tatsarvamebhiranuvyavahriyata iti | ata ete nāmapadavyañjanakāyā vyavasthāpitāḥ | paryāyākṣaraṇatāmupādāyeti yathā cakṣuścakṣurityetasmātparyāyādanyeṣvapi netrākṣinayanalocanādiṣu paryāyāntareṣu kṣarati, tairapi tatsaṃjñānāt | naivaṃ a ityetadakṣaraṃ a ityetaṃ paryāyaṃ mukttvā paryāyāntareṇa śakyate jñāpayitum, ataḥ paryāyākṣaraṇādakṣarāaṇi | kṣaraṇaṃ punargamanaṃ veditavyam ||
prabandhānupacchede pravṛttivyavasthānamekasmin kṣaṇe vyavacchinne vā tadupacārābhāvāt hetuphalanānātvamiṣṭasya phalasya sucaritamaniṣṭasya duścaritamityevamādi | phalānāṃ pṛthak pṛthaganyonyahetukatvam | hetuphalasārūpyamanyatve'pi yadyasya phalaṃ yujyate | tadyathā dānasya bhogasaṃpadityevamādi | ekaikasyaiva pravṛttirayugapatpravṛttirveditavyā | hetuphalasya prabandhena pravṛttau satyāṃ yattatra hetuphalamutpannaniruddhaṃ so'tītaḥ kāla iti prajñapyate, yadanutpannaṃ so'nāgataḥ kālaḥ, yadutpannāniruddhaṃ sa pratyutpannaḥ kāla iti | hetuphalasya digvyāptau deśopacāraḥ | rūpasaṃgṛhītaṃ cātra hetuphalaṃ veditavyamarūpiṇāṃ digvyāpanasāmarthyābhāvāt | pratyekaśo bhede saṃkhyetyabhinnaikātmakatve dvitrisaṃkhyā dyanupapatteḥ | hetuphala pratyayānāṃ samavadhānaṃ tadyathā vijñānākhyasya hi hetuphalasye ndriyāparibhedo vipayābhāsagamanaṃ tajjñānaṃ manaskārapratyupasthānaṃ ceti | evamanyatrāpi yojitavyam ||
ityevamete cittaviprayuktāḥ saṃskārāṇāṃ dharmāṇāma vasthāsu prajñapanātsarve prajñaptisanto veditavyāḥ | tatra kuśalākuśalā dyācayā pacayāvasthāyāmekaḥ | cittacaitasikāpravṛttyavasthāyāṃ trayaḥ | sthityavasthāyāmekaḥ | sādṛśyāvasthāyāmekaḥ | lakṣaṇāvasthāyāṃ catvāraḥ | vyavahārāvasthāyāṃ trayaḥ | alābhāvasthāyāmekaḥ | hetuphalāvasthāyāṃ śeṣā iti | hetuphalaṃ punaratra sarva saṃskṛtaṃ veditavyam | tato'nyasyotpādāddhetuḥ | anyatastadutpādāt phalamiti ||
skandhādīnāṃ samudācāre tadbījaparipuṣṭirvāsane tyucyate | sarvabījakaṃ teṣāmeva skandhādīnāmutpattibījairyuktatvāt | ālīyante tasmin dharmā bījataḥ, sattvā vātmagrāheṇetyālayavi jñānam | pūrva karmani rmitatvāt vipākavijñānam | punaḥ punaḥ pratisaṃdhibandhe ātmabhāvopādānā dādānavijñā nam | tatpunaretacci ttamityucyate, sarvadharmavāsanācittatvāt ||
tadetadālayavijñānamastīti kathaṃ vijñāyate | yasmāttena vināupāttamādi spaṣṭatvaṃ bījaṃ karma na yujyate |
kāyiko'nubhavo'citte samāpattī cyutistathā ||
etasyāścoddānagāthāyā vibhāgastadyathā viniścayasaṃgrahaṇyāma ṣṭābhirākārai rālayavijñānasyāstitā pratyetavyā | tadyathā 'ntareṇālayavijñānaṃ āśrayo pādānāsaṃbhavataḥ ādipravṛtyasaṃbhavataḥ spaṣṭapravṛttyasaṃbhavato bījatvā saṃbhavataḥ karmāsaṃbhavataḥ kāyikānubhavāsaṃbhavatā 'cittakasamāpattyasaṃbhavato vijñānacyutyasaṃbhavataśca ||
kena kāraṇenāśrayopādānaṃ na yujyate | āha pañcabhiḥ kāraṇaiḥ | tathāhi ālayavijñānaṃ pūrvasaṃskārahetukam | cakṣurādipravṛttivijñānaṃ punarvartamānapratyayahetukam | yathoktam indriyaviṣayamanaskāravaśādvijñānānāṃ pravṛttirbhavatīti vistareṇa | idaṃ prathamaṃ kāraṇam | api ca kuśalākuśalāḥ ṣaḍvijñānakāyā upalabhyante | idaṃ dvitīyaṃ kāraṇam | api ca ṣaṇṇāṃ vijñānakāyānāṃ sā jātirnopalabhyate yā'vyākṛtavipākasaṃgṛhītā syāt | idaṃ tṛtīyaṃ kāraṇam | api ca pratiniyatāśrayāḥ ṣaḍvijñānakāyāḥ pravartante, tatra yena yenāśrayeṇa yadvijñānaṃ pravartate tadeva tenopāttaṃ syādavaśiṣṭasyānu pāttateti na yujyate, upāttatāpi na yujyate vijñānavirahitatayā | idaṃ caturtha kāraṇam | api ca punaḥ punarāśrayasyopādāna doṣaḥ prasajyate | tathāhi cakṣurvijñānamekadā pravartate ekadā na pravarttate evamavaśiṣṭāni | idaṃ pañcamaṃ kāraṇam | iti pūrvakarmapravarttamānapratyahetuto'pi kuśalākuśalato'pi tajjātyanupalaṃbhato'pi pratiniyatāśrayato'pi punaḥ punaru pādānadoṣato'pi na yujyate ||
kena kāraṇenā'dipravṛttisaṃbhavo na yujyate | sa cetkaścidvadedyadyālaya vijñānamasti tena dvayoḥ vijñānayoḥ yugapatpravṛttirbhaviṣyati | sa idaṃ syādvacanīyaḥ - adoṣa eva bhavāndoṣasaṃjñī | tathāhi bhavatyeva dvayorvijñānayoryugapatpravṛttiḥ | tatkasya hetoḥ | tathāhyekatyasya yugapadradṣṭukāmasya yāvadvijñātukāmasyādi ta itaretaravijñānapravṛttirna yujyate | tathāhi tatra manaskāro'pi nirviśiṣṭa indriyamapi viṣayo'pi ||
kena kāraṇenāsatyāṃ yugapadvijñānapravṛttau manovijñānasya cakṣurādivijñāna sahānucarasya spaṣṭatvaṃ na saṃbhavati | tathāhi yasmin samaye 'tītamanubhūtaṃ viṣayaṃ samanusmarati tasmin samaye'vispaṣṭo manovijñānapracāro bhavati na tu tathā vartamānaviṣayo manaḥpracāro'vispaṣṭo bhavati | ato'pi yugapatpravṛttirvā yujyate'vispaṣṭatvaṃ vā manovijñānasya ||
kena kāraṇena bījatvaṃ na saṃbhavati ṣaṇṇāṃ vijñānakāyānāmanyonyam | tathāhi kuśalānantaramakuśalamutpadyate, akuśalānantaraṃ kuśalam, tadubhayānantaramavyākṛtam, hīnadhātukānantaraṃ madhyadhātukam, madhyadhātukānantaraṃ praṇītadhātukam, evaṃ praṇītadhātukānantaraṃ yāvaddhīnadhātukam, sāstravānantaramanāsravam, anāstravānantaraṃ sāsravam, laukikānantaraṃ lokottaram, lokottarānantaraṃ laukikam | na ca teṣāṃ tathā bījatvaṃ yujyate | dīrghakālasamucchinnāpi ca saṃtatiścireṇa kālena pravartate, tasmādapi na yujyate ||
kena kāraṇenāsatyāṃ yu gapadvijñānapravṛttau karma na saṃbhavati | tathāhi samāsataścaturvidhaṃ karma - bhājanavijñaptirāśrayavijñaptirahamiti vijñaptirviṣayavijñaptiśceti | etā vijñaptayaḥ kṣaṇe kṣaṇe yugapatpravartamānā upalabhyante | na caikasya vijñānasyaikasmin kṣaṇe idamevaṃrūpaṃ vyatibhinnaṃ karma yujyate ||
kena kāraṇenāsatyālayavijñāne kāyiko'nubhavo na yujyate | tathāhyekatyasya yoniśo vā'yoniśo vā cintayato vā 'nuvitarkayato vā samāhitacetaso vā'samāhitacetaso vā ye kāye kāyānubhavā utpadyante'nekavidhā bahunānāprakārāste na bhaveyurupalabhyante ca | tasmādapyastyālayavijñānam ||
kena kāraṇe nāsatyālayavijñāne'cittā samāpattirna saṃbhavati | tathāhya saṃjñisamāpannasya vā nirodhasamāpannasya vā vijñānameva kāyādapakrāntaṃ syāt | nānapakrāntaṃ tataḥ kālakriyaiva bhavet | yathoktam bhagavatā - "vijñānaṃ cāsya kāyādanapakrāntaṃ bhavatī"ti ||
kena kāraṇenāsatyālayavijñāne cyutirapi na yujyate | tathāhi cyavamānasya vijñāna mūrdhvadehaṃ vā śotikurvan vijahāti, adhodehaṃ vā | na ca manovijñānaṃ kadācinna pravartate | ato'pyālayavijñānasyaiva dehopādāna kasya vigamāddehaśītatā upa[la]bhyate dehāpratisaṃvedanā ca | na tu manovijñānasya | ato'pi na yujyate ||
mano nirvacanata ālaṃvanataḥ saṃprayogataḥ pravṛttikālataśca nirdiṣṭaṃ veditavyam | mārgasaṃmukhībhāve tadabhāvaḥ, paramārthajñānasyātmadṛṣṭisamudācāreṇātyantavirodhāt | tadūrdhvamālayavijñānātpravṛttiḥ , śaikṣasyāprahīṇatvāt | asaṃjñisamāpattito nirodhasamāpatteḥ śāntataratvaṃ tadasamudācārādeva veditavyam | samanantaraniruddhaṃ mano'numatamiti kṛtvā'nantaraṃ matamityarthaḥ ||
vijñānasyāśrayata ālaṃvanataḥ svabhāvataśca vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||
dhātvāyatanānāṃ nāsti pṛthaglakṣaṇavyavasthānam, skandhanirdeśa eva cakṣurādīnāmukta lakṣaṇatvāt | tasmātskandhebhya eva niṣkṛṣya dhātavo vyavasthāpyante, dhātubhya āyatanāni ||
yattu skandhairasaṃgṛhītamasaṃskṛtaṃ tadaṣṭadhāvyavasthāpya iti | tathatāyāstraividhyamāśrayaprakārabhedānna svabhāvabhedāditi veditavyam | ananyathīma vatā sadaiva bhāva nāṃ nirātmatayā draṣṭavyā | saṃkleśā pracāratāmupādāyeti tenā labanena saṃkleśa vastunaḥ saṃkleśa śūnyīkaraṇāt | yadāpi saṃkliṣṭetyucyate tadāpyāgantukastatropakleśo veditavyaḥ | katamaḥ punarāgantukastatropakleśaḥ | anapoddhṛtagrāhyagrāhakabījasya paratantracittasya dvayākārā pravṛttiḥ | na dharmatā cittasya | prakṛtiprabhāsvarā hi sarvadharmāṇāṃ dharmateti | nimittāni rūpaṃ vedanā yāvadbodhiriti prapañcitāni, teṣāṃ tatropaśamādanimittam | bhūtaṃ yadaviparītam, tasya koṭiḥ paryantaḥ, nairātmyātpareṇa tattvāparyepaṇāt | ākāśaṃ rūpābhāva iti rūpasyava viparya ye ṇābhāvalakṣaṇo yo dharmo manovijñānaviṣayastadākāśam | manovijñānaviṣayatva punaḥ dharmadhātvadhikāratvena veditavyam | rūpasyaivetyavadhāraṇādvedanādisādhāraṇāstathatā'pratisaṃkhyāpratisaṃkhyāni[ro]dhānityatāḥ paryudāsyante | śaśavipāṇādīnāmatyantamabhāvo na teṣāṃ viparyayeṇa vijñāyate | yasmātta evātyantaṃ na saṃbhavantī ti | te'pi śaśaviṣāṇādayo nāsyaiva vidyamānasya rūpasya viparyayeṇa, vedanādisādhāraṇatvāt | tasmādrūpasyaiva viparyaye ṇetyucyate | abhāvalakṣaṇavacanena vedanādonāmarūpiṇāṃ paryudāsaḥ | na hi te'bhāvalakṣaṇā iti | yo nirodho na ca visaṃyoga ityanuśayāsamuddhātāt | viparyayādvisaṃyogaḥ ||
dvayamidaṃ prahātavyam - kleśāśca tadāśrayabhūtaṃ ca vastu veditam | tatpunarveditaṃ dvividham - vaikārikamavaikārikaṃ ca, sukhaduḥkhamaduḥkhāsukhaṃ ca yathākramam | tatra kleśaprahāṇāt pratisaṃkhyānirodhavyavasthānam | dvividhaveditaprahāṇādyathākrama māniñjyasya saṃjñāvedayitanirodhasya ca vyavasthānam | tatra kleśaprahāṇaṃ tatpakṣadauṣṭhulyāpagamādāśrayaparivṛttiḥ, veditaprahāṇaṃ tatpratipakṣabhūtāyāḥ samāpatterāvaraṇāpagamādāśrayaparivṛttiḥ | ata eva dvitīye dhyāne duḥkhanirodhasyāsaṃskṛtā[vya]vasthānam, vaikārikasya veditasyāśeṣamaprahāṇāt ||
rūpaskandhena daśarūpiṇo dhātavaḥ saṃgṛhītāḥ, dharmadhātunā sa eva, mana āyatanena sapta vijñānadhātava ityevaṃ sarvadharmāstrayo bhavanti ||
evaṃ vyavasthāpiteṣu skandhadhātvāyataneṣvānuṣaṃgikametadvayutpādyate ||
cakṣuḥśrotraghrāṇānāṃ pratyekaṃ dvitve sati kathaṃ dhā tūnāṃ naikaviṃśatitvam | yadyapi caiṣāṃ dvitvaṃ na tu dhātvantaratvam, lakṣaṇasādharmyeṇobhayoścakṣurlakṣaṇatvāt, kṛtyasādharmyeṇobhayoścakṣurvijñānakṛtyatvāt | evaṃ śrotraghrāṇayoryojyam | dvayordvayostu nirvṛtti rāśrayaśobhārtham | evaṃ suvibhaktasamobhayapārśva āśrayaḥ śobhano nānyathā ||
kimekaikameva cakṣurniśritya cakṣurvijñānamutpadyate nityamāhosviddva api | dve apītyucyate, spaṣṭagrahaṇāt | yathā dvayoścakṣuporunmiṣitayoḥ rūpagrahaṇaṃ spaṣṭaṃ bhavati na tathaikasminneveti | tadyathā ekasminnapavarake dvayoḥ pradīpayorekaṃ prabhāpratānaṃ spaṣṭataraṃ dvau pradīpau niśritya varttate | tadvadatrāpi nayo draṣṭavyaḥ ||
ekaikenendriyadvāreṇa vicitra viṣayapratyupasthāne tatprakāreṣu kiṃ krameṇa vijñānānyutpadyante āhosyidyugapadekam | yugapadekameva vicitrākāraṃ vijñānaṃ veditavyam | jihvāsaṃprāpte kavaḍe jihvākāyavijñānayornityaṃ yugapadutpattirveditavyā ||
śabdasyoccheditvānna deśāntareṣvaparāparotpattisaṃtānena deśāntaragamanamasti kitarhi sakṛt | yathā svaprade śamavaṣṭabhya pradīpapratānavat śabdapratānasyotpādo draṣṭavyaḥ | yattvāsannatiraskṛtasya śabdasyāspaṣṭaṃ śravaṇaṃ bhavati tacchabdasya pratighātitvādāvaraṇasauṣirya svalpokti to veditavyam ||
ṣaṇṇāṃ vijñānānāṃ kati vijñānāni savikalpakāni katyavikalpakāni | tribhistāvadvikalpaiḥ manovijñānamekaṃ savikalpakam | trayo vikalpāḥsvabhāvavikalpo'nusmaraṇavikalpo'bhinirūpaṇāvikalpaśca | tatra svabhāvavikalpaḥ pratyutpanneṣu saṃskāreṣvanubhūyamāneṣu yaḥ svalakṣaṇākāro vikalpaḥ | anusmaraṇavikalpo yo'nubhūtapūrvasaṃskārākāraḥ | abhinirūpaṇāvikalpo yo'tītānāga tapratyutpanneṣu viparokṣeṣvabhyūhanākāro vikalpaḥ || api khalu sapta vikalpāḥ ālaṃvane svarasavāho vikalpaḥ sanimitto 'nimittaḥ paryeṣakaḥ pratyavekṣakaḥ kliṣṭo 'kliṣṭaśca vikalpaḥ | tatra ādyo vikalpaḥ pañca vijñānakāyāḥ, acitrayitvālaṃvanaṃ yathāsvaṃ viṣayeṣu svarase naiva vahanāt | sanimitta svabhāvānusmaraṇavikalpo vartamānātītaviṣaya citrīkaraṇāt | ani mitto'nāgataviṣayo manorathākāro vikalpaḥ śeṣā abhinirūpaṇāvikalpasvabhāvā veditavyāḥ | tathāhyekadā'bhyūhamānaḥ paryeṣate, ekadā pratyavekṣate, ekadā kliṣṭo bhavati, ekadā'kliṣṭa iti ||
yadā rūpādiprativijñaptikaṃ vijñānaṃ tatkena kāraṇena cakṣurādi vijñānamityucyate na rūpādibhijñānamiti | pañcavidhavigrahopapatteḥ rūpādivacanānu papattiḥ | katha miti | cakṣuṣi vijñānaṃ cakṣurvijñānam, āśrayadeśe vijñānotpattitaḥ , sati ca tasmistadbhāvāt | tathāhi sati cakṣuṣi cakṣurvijñānamavaśyamutpadyate anandhānāmanandhato 'ndhakārasyāpi darśanāt | na rūpe satyavaśyam, andhānāmadarśanāditi | cakṣuṣā vijñānaṃ cakṣu vijñānam , tadvaśenāvikṛte'pi rūpe vijñānasya vikriyāgamanatvāt | tadyathā kāmala vyādhyupahatena cakṣuṣā nīlādirūpeṣvapi pītadarśanameva bhavatīti | cakṣuṣo vijñānaṃ cakṣurvijñānam, vijñānabījānubandhāccakṣuṣastannirvṛtteḥ | cakṣuṣe vijñānam, tasmai hitāhi[ta]tvāt | tathāhi vijñānasaṃprayukte nānubhavenendriya syānugraha upaghāto vā bhavati, na viṣayasyeti | cakṣurvijñānaṃ cakṣurvijñānam, ubhayoḥ sattvasaṃkhyātatvāt na tvavaśyaṃ rūpasyeti ||
kiṃ tāvaccakṣū rūpāṇi paśyatīti veditavyamatha vijñānam | naikaṃ nāparaṃ paśyatīti veditavyam, nirvyāpāratvāt dharmāṇām | sāmagrayāṃ tu satyāṃ darśanaprajñaptiḥ | api khalu ṣaḍbhirākāraiḥ cakṣuṣo rūpadarśane prādhānyaṃ veditavyaṃ na vijñānasya | katamaiḥ ṣaḍbhiḥ | utpattikāraṇa (ta)ḥ , cakṣuṣastadutpatteḥ | tatpadasthānataḥ, darśanasya cakṣurāśrayaṇāt | acala vṛttitaḥ, cakṣuṣo nityamekajātīyatvāt | svatantravṛttitaḥ, pratikṣaṇamutpattipratyayasāmagrayanapekṣatvāt | śobhāvṛttitaḥ, tenāśrayaśobhanāt | āgamataḥ, "cakṣuṣā rūpāṇi dṛṣṭve" ti vacanāt | etacca yathoktaṃ sarva vijñānasya na saṃbhavatīti | calavṛttitvaṃ tvasya bahuprakārotpattito veditavyam ||
yathā dhātuṣvāyataneṣu cāsaṃskṛtaṃ vyavasthāpitamevaṃ kasmānna skandheṣvapi vyavasthāpitam | skandhārthāsaṃbhavāt | rūpādīnā matītādi prakārābhisaṃkṣepeṇa rāśyarthaḥ skandhārtho nirdiṣṭaḥ | sa ca nityasya na saṃbhavatīti na skandheṣvasaṃskṛtavyavasthānam ||
kena kāraṇena ta eva dharmā skandhadhātvāyatanamukhaiḥ pṛthagdeśitāḥ | vineyānāṃ samāsavyāsanirdeśakauśalyotpādanārtham | tathāhi skandhanirdeśe ye rūpavijñānesamāsena nirdiṣṭe te dhātvāyataneṣvekādaśadhā | saptadhā ca bhittvā vyāsena nirdiṣṭe yathāyogam | ye tu tatra vedanādayo vyastāḥ te dhātvāyataneṣu dharmadhātvāyatanatvena samastā iti | api khalu lakṣaṇamātravyavasthānataḥ skandhanirdeśaḥ, grāhyagrāhakagrahaṇavyavasthānato dhātunirdeśaḥ , grahaṇāya dvārabhūtasya grāhyagrāhakamātrasya vyavasthānata āyatananirdeśo veditavyaḥ | samāptamānuṣaṃgikam ||
ataḥ paraṃ mūlagranthasyaivārthanirdeśo draṣṭavyaḥ | arhataścaramaṃ cakṣuḥ parinirvāṇakāle paścimam | tatra dhātuḥ, cakṣura ntarasyāhetutvāt | ārūpyopapannasya pṛthagjanasya cakṣurheturiti tataḥ pracyutya rūpiṇi dhātāvupapadyamānasya yasmādālaya vijñānasaṃniviṣṭāccakṣurbījācca kṣurnirvartiṣyate, na tvāryasya puna ranāgamanāditi || kāyadhāturna kāya ārūpyopapannasya pṛthagjanasya yaḥ kāyadhāturityetadatra vaktavyam, aṇḍagatādīnāṃ kāyasaṃbhavāt pranaṣṭakāyasya cājīvi[ta]svāditi || syānmanodhāturna mana ityatrāsaṃjñisamāpanna syāgrahaṇam, kliṣṭamanaḥsadbhāvāt ||
jāto bhūtaḥ nirvṛtti vṛddhi cādhikṛtya yathākramam || ārūpyāvacareṇa manasā''rūpyāvacarān svabhūmikānanāstravāṃśca dharmān vijānātītyāryaśrāvakamadhikṛtya | bāhyakaḥ pṛthagjanaḥ svabhūmikāneva vijānātīti | iha dhārmikastu kaścitpūrvaśrutaparibhāvanāvaśādurdhvabhūmikānapyālaṃvate tadutpādanārtham ||
yathā rūpaṃ tathānubhava iti sukhādivedanīyādindriyārthadvayātsukhādivedanotpatteḥ | yathā vedayate tathā saṃjānīta iti yathānubhavaṃ nimittodgrahaṇāt | yathā saṃjānīte tathā cetayati yathāsaṃjñaṃ karmā bhisaṃskaraṇāt | yathā cetayate tathā vijñānaṃ tatra tatropagaṃ bhavatīti yathābhisaṃskāraṃ viṣayeṣu gatyantareṣu ca vijñānapariṇāmāt ||
yatra saṃkliśyate vyavadāyate ceti sendriye kāye | yenānubhaveneti sāmiṣanirāmiṣādyena yathākramam | yena nimittagrahaṇābhisaṃskāreṇetyayoniśo yoniśaśca pravṛttena | yatsaṃ kliśyate vyavadāyate ceti citta dauṣṭhulyādauṣṭhulyopapattitaḥ ||
ekādaśavidhāttṛṣṇā prakārādrūpādīnāmatītādiprakāravyavasthāna veditavyam | sā punaḥ apekṣātṛṣṇā abhinandanātṛṣṇā adhyavasānatṛṣṇā āmatṛṣṇā viṣayatṛṣṇā kāmatṛṣṇā samāpattitṛṣṇā duścaritaduḥkhatṛṣṇā sucaritasukhatṛṣṇā viprakṛṣṭatṛṣṇā sanikṛṣṭatṛṣṇā ca | asyāḥ tṛṣṇāyā ālaṃvanatvena yathākramamatītādayaḥ prakārā yojitavyāḥ | aparaḥ paryāyaḥ | utpannānutpannabhedato grāhakagrāhyabhedato bahirmukhāntarmukhabhedataḥ kliṣṭākliṣṭabhedato viprakṛṣṭasaṃnikṛṣṭabhedataśvātītādīni yathāyogaṃ veditavyāni | tatrotpannamatītaṃ pratyutpannaṃ ca | anutpannamanāgatam | vahirmukhamasamāhitabhūmikam | antarmukhaṃ samāhitabhūmikam | śiṣṭaḥ sugamatvānna vibhaktaḥ | duḥkhavaipulyalakṣa ṇatāmupādāyeti rūpādisaṃniśrayeṇa jātthādiduḥkhapratānāt | saṃkleśabhārodvahanaṃ rūpādyāśritatvāt kleśādisaṃkleśasya | tadyathā loke yena śarīrapradeśena bhāra uhyate tatra skandhopacāro dṛṣṭaḥ, skandhena bhāramuddhahatīti ||
sarvadharmabījārtha iti hetvarthamadhikṛtyālayavijñāne | kāryakāraṇa bhāvadhāraṇamaṣṭādaśasu dhātuṣu ṣaṇṇāṃ vijñānadhātūnāmindriyārthadhātūnāṃ, ca yathākramam | sarvaprakāradharmasaṃgrahaṇena sūtrāntaranirdiṣṭānāṃ pṛthivīdhātvādīnāmanyeṣāmapi dhātūnāmeṣvevāṣṭādaśasu yathāyogaṃ saṃgrahaṇādveditavyam ||
bījārthaḥ sarvaprakāradharmasaṃgrahārthaścāyatanārtho'pi veditavyaḥ ||
rūpādānāṃ phenapiṇḍo pamatvamasato riktataḥ tucchato'sārataśca khyānādveditavyam | eteṣāṃ punaḥ sūtrapadānāmartha ātmaśucisukhanityaviparyāsapratipakṣeṇa yathākramamanātmatā mupādāyetyevamādibhiḥ padarveditavyaḥ ||
kathaṃ kati kimarthibhiriti praśnatrayavyavasthāpanaṃ lakṣaṇavastusaṃmohayoḥ samāropasya ca prahāṇārtham |
tatra kathaṃ dravyasaditi dravyasato lakṣaṇanirdeśena tatsaṃmohaḥ prahīyate | sarvāṇi dravyasantītyanena vastusaṃmohaḥ prahī yate ātmadravyābhiniveśatyājanārthamityanena samāropaḥ prahīyate | evamanyatrāpi yojyam | abhilāpanirapekṣa indriyagocarastadyathā rūpaṃ vedanetyevamādikaṃ nāmnā'citrayitvā yasyārthasya grahaṇaṃ bhavati | tadanyanirapekṣastadyathārthāntaramanapekṣya yatra tadbuddhirbhavati | na yathā ghaṭādiṣu rūpādīnapekṣya ghaṭādibuddhiri ti ||
saṃkleśālaṃbanaṃ saṃvṛtisat saṃkleśavṛttyarthena | ātmā saṃkleśasya nimittamityabhiniveśatyājanārtham | |
viśuddhaye ālaṃbanaṃ paramārthasat paramajñānagocarārthena | sarvāṇi ṣaramārthasantītiti tathatā'vyatirekātsarvadharmāṇām ||
yena saṃkliśyate vyavadāyate ceti rāgādibhiścetasikaiḥ śraddhādibhiśceti veditavyam | yā ca tatrāvastheti rūpacittacetasikāva sthāsu prajñaptāścittaviprayuktāḥ saṃskārāḥ | yacca vyavadānamityasaṃskṛtaṃ vyavadānaṃ veditavyam | tacca yathāyogam | punastrayodaśavidhasya vijñānasya yo viṣayaḥ tajjñeyamanena pradarśitam | tatpunaḥ śrutamayaṃ jñānaṃ cintāmayaṃ jñānaṃ lau kikabhāvanāmayaṃ jñānaṃ paramārthajñānaṃ paracittajñānaṃ dharmajñānam anvayajñānaṃ duḥkhajñānaṃ samudayajñānaṃ nirodhajñānaṃ mārgajñānaṃ kṣayānutpādajñānaṃ mahāyānajñānaṃ ca | ete'nye ca yathākramamadhimukti jñānādīni veditavyāni | tatra paracittajñānaṃ parātma jñānam , parātma cittaviṣayāt | dharmajñānamadharajñānam, satyeṣvādita utpādāt | anvayajñānamūrdhvajñānam, dharmajñānādūrdhvamutpādāt | vidūṣaṇāyāsamutthāpanāyānutpāde jñāne niṣṭhāyāṃ mahārtheṣu jñānaṃ tadvidūṣaṇaṃ jñānaṃ yāvanmahārthajñānamiti yojayitavyam | mahārthatvaṃ punaḥ svaparārthatvāt ||
tatra avikalpanataḥ pañcabhirvijñānakāyaiḥ | vikalpanataḥ manovijñānena | hetuta ālayavijñānam | pravṛttitastadanyadvijñānam nimitta ta indriyārthāḥ | naimittikato vijñānāni | vipakṣapratipakṣataḥ sarāgaṃ vigatarāgaṃ sadveṣaṃ vigatadveṣamityevamādi | sūkṣmaprabhedataḥ saptavidhadurvijñānavijñaptibhedāt | saptavidhādurvijñānā vijñāptistadyathā asaṃviditavijñaptiḥ bhājanavijñaptiḥ, sarvakālamaparicchinnākāratvāt citrākāra vijñaptirekasyāneka ākāro vicitraśceti durvyavasthāpanādasyāḥ sūkṣmatvam | sahabhāvavijñaptirekakālotpannāti vijñānāni kathaṃ pṛthagyathāsvaṃ viṣayaṃ paricchindantī ti durvyavasthāpanātsūkṣmatvam | sūkṣmatvamiti sarvatrādhikṛtaṃ veditavyam | vipakṣapratipakṣalaghuparivṛttivijñaptiḥ kathaṃ rāgādisamastabandhanaṃ cittaṃ tanmuhureva sakṛdvītarāgādikaṃ bhavatīti | vāsanāvijñaptiḥ kathaṃ karmabhiḥ samudācaradbhiḥ cittaṃ vāsyate, na ca tasmādanyā sā vāsanā, nāpi tanmātrameva, phaladānaṃ ca prati krameṇa vṛttilābha iti | pratisaṃdhivijñaptiḥ kathamanekaprakārātmabhāvanirvartakakarmaparibhāvitaṃ sadvijñānaṃ tathāpyapari sphuṭāyāṃ maraṇāvasthāyāṃ sahasā prabuddhayānyatarakarmavāsanāmanyatarasyāṃ gatau pratisaṃdhi vadhnānīti | muktavijñaptiḥ kathamarhataścittaṃ paramaṃ niṣprapañcaṃ dharmatāprāptaṃ saṃsārocitasarvaprakārasāśravacaryā samatikrāntamanenākāreṇa vartata iti durvyavasthāpanādasyāḥ sūkṣmatvaṃ veditavyam | draṣṭādigrahaṇena draṣṭā śrotā ghrātā svā dayitā spraṣṭā vijñātā cetyeṣāṃ grahaṇaṃ veditavyam ||
abhijñeyaṃ ṣaṇṇāmabhijñānāṃ viṣaya | gamanaviśeṣa prabhāvitatvā dṛddhayabhijñāyāstadviṣayasya saṃkrāntito'bhijñeyatvam | sarāgādinimittajñānāccaritapraveśāt | atītajanmaparaṃparāgamanajñānādāgatitaḥ | anāgatotpa ttigamanajñānāt gatitaḥ | traidhātukanirmokṣopāyajñānānnisaraṇataḥ | sarvāṇyabhijñeyānyantyānāṃ tisṛṇāṃ savaṃviṣayatvāt |
tatra rūpīti rūpaṃ tasya dharmasyātmasva bhāvastasmādasau rūpī, na tu rūpāntareṇa yuktatvāt | yāvaduktaṃ syādrūpasvabhāva iti | bhūtāśrayato'pīti rūpāntara yogā dapi rūpitvamiti darśayati, upādāya rūpasya bhūtarūpeṇa yogādbhatarūpāṇāṃ ca parasparami ti | nāndīsamudaya iti nāndyeva yasya samudayastadrūpi, na tu yathā vedanādīnāṃ pūrvikā ca nāndo samudayaḥ, pratyutpannaśca sparśādiriti | sapradeśataḥ sāvayavatvāt | deśavyāptito dikṣu pratyāsparaṇāt | deśopadeśato'muṣyāṃ diśīti vyavadeṣṭuṃ śakyatvāt deśagocarataḥ kasmiścitpradeśe sthitasyālaṃvanībhāvāt | dvayasamagocarataḥ sattvadvayasya kasmiścitpradeśe sthitasyālaṃ vanobhāvāt | dvayasamagocarataḥ sattvadvayasya samamālaṃ vanībhāvānna tvevamarūpiṇo yathātmānubhavaṃ paraiḥ parigrahītumaśakyatvāditi | saṃbandhataścakṣurvijñānā dīnāmapi paryāyeṇa rūpitvam, rūpīndriyasaṃbandhāt | anubandhata ārūpyāṇāṃ pṛthagjanānāṃ rūpabījānubandhāt | prarūpaṇato vitarkavicārā ṇāmālaṃvanaprarūpaṇāt | vyābādhanataḥ pañcānāṃ skandhānāṃ pāṇyādisaṃsparśaiḥ śokādibhiśca yathāyogaṃ rūpaṇāt bādhanādityarthaḥ | saṃprāpaṇato deśanāyā arthanirūpaṇāt | saṃcayavyavasthānataḥ paramāṇorūrdhva rūpasya sāvayavavyavasthānāt | bahirmukhataḥ kāmāvacarasya rūpasya kāmaguṇatṛṣṇāsaṃbhūtatvāt | antarmukhato rūpāvacarasya rūpasya samāpatticittatṛṣṇāsaṃbhūtatvādata evāsya manomayatvaṃ veditavyam | āyatataḥ pṛthagjanasya pūrvāntāparāntayoḥ paryantavyavasthānābhāvāt | paricchinnataḥ śaikṣasya rūpasya paryantīkṛtasaṃsāratvāt | tatkālato'śaikṣarūpasya pratyutatpannabhavamātrāvaśeṣāt | nidarśanato buddhādirūpasya saṃdarśanamātratvādaniṣpannatāmupādāya || tatra sarvāṇi rūpīṇi vyāvādhanarūpitvena | yathāyogaṃ śeṣairveditavyam | bahirmukhatādayastu ṣaḍ rūpibhedā vedanādisādhāraṇā veditavyāḥ |
śiṣṭasya rūpivat prabheda iti | iti katham | yathā rūvitadātmato'pīti vistareṇa rūpī tyuktaṃ tathā sanidarśanatadātmato'pi sanidarśanaṃ vistareṇa yojayitavyam | tatra sarvāṇi sanidarśanāni sarva nidarśanasaṃbandhādinā'rūpiṇāmapi sanidarśanatvāt ||
āvṛṇotyāvri yata iti gamanapratibandhārthena | āvṛṇotītyetāvati vaktavye āvri yate ceti vacanaṃ prabhādirūpasya sapratighatvavyavasthāpanārtham | taddhayāvri yata eva nāvṛṇotītyeṣā tasya jātireṣa svabhāva ityarthaḥ | paramāṇorūrdhvamityekasya paramāṇo rapratighatvāt | yanna samādhivaśavarti rūpamiti samādhivaśena vartamānasyāpratighatvāt samacittaka devatāvata | prakopapadasthānaṃ yatrāśraya ālaṃvane vā dveṣa utpadyate | anena ca sapratighārthena sa rvāṇisapratighāni | yathāyogaṃ veti śeṣaiḥ ||
āsravatadātmata āstravāṇāṃ sāsravatvamāsravasvabhāvena yuktatvāt | āsravasaṃbandhatastatsahabhuvāṃ citacaittānāṃ cakṣurādīnāṃ cāsravasaṃprayuktatvādāsrava [śraya]tvācca yathākramam | āsrava bandhataḥ kuśalasāstravāṇāṃ tadvaśena punarbhavanirvartanāt | āstravānubandhato'nyabhūmikānāmapyanyabhūmikāsravadauṣṭhulyāśrayatvāt | āstravānukūlyata iti kleśadauṣṭhulyānugatatve'pi nirvedyabhāgīyānāmanāsravatvavyavasthāpanārtham, sarvabhavavaimukhyena tatpratipakṣatvāt | āstravānvayato'rhatāṃ skandhānāṃ paurvajānmikakleśasaṃbhūtatvāt || pañcaskandhāḥ sāstravāḥ | pañcadaśa ghātavo'ntyāṃstrīn hitvā | daśāyatanānyantye dve hitvāḥ | trayāṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ dvayoścāyatana yoḥ pradeśaḥ saparivāramā ryamārga ma saṃskṛtaṃ ca hitvā ||
śastrādānādiraṇahetavo rāgādayo raṇāḥ | yāvanti sāstravāṇi tāvanti saraṇāṇītyevamādi tadānubaṃdhyārthena veditavyam ||
punarbhavādhyavasānahetavo rāgādaya āmiṣam | kathaṃ dveṣasyaṃ - punarbhavādhyavasānahetutvam | vyāvadāni kadharmadveṣeṇa punarbhavādhyavasānāt ||
kāmaguṇādhyavasānahetavo rāgādayo gredhaḥ | kīdṛśena dveṣeṇa tadadhyavasānam | naiṣkramyadveṣeṇa ||
kāmakāreṇa saṃmukhībhāvo vimukhībhāvaśca nāsaṃskṛtasya saṃbhavati nityatvāt | naivasaṃ skṛta nāsaṃskṛtasya dvayā vyatirekādyaduktam - dvayamidaṃ saṃskṛtaṃ cāsaṃskṛtaṃ ceti | tatkathaṃ dvayamevameva bhavatīti | kāmakārasaṃmukhī bhāvārthena saṃskṛtameveti vaktavyam | karmakleśānabhi saṃskṛtatārthenāsaṃskṛtameveti | na dvayādvayatiricyate ||
tatpratibhāsamiti traidhātukaparyāpannākāram, tathatādipratibhāsasyaikāntenānucitatvena lokottaratvāt | skandhānāmekadeśaṃ samyagjñānasaṃgṛhītaṃ lokottarapratibhāsāṃśca pṛṣṭhalabdhān sthāpayitvā | taccāsaṃskṛtaṃ ca sthāpayitvā trayāṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ dvayoścāyatanayoḥ pradeśo draṣṭavyaḥ ||
traidhātukapratipakṣa āryamārgaḥ | sa punaḥ śrāvakapratyekabuddhānāṃ nityādicaturvidhaviparyāsaprati pakṣatvādaviparyāsa nirvikalpatayā nirvikalpaḥ | bodhisattvānāṃ rūpādisarvadharmaprapañcaprati pakṣatvānniṣprapañca nirvikalpatayā nirvikalpaḥ | asaṃskṛtaṃ tu sarvavikalpāpasthānānnirvikalpaḥ |
ādyutpannaṃ pratisaṃdhikāle | prabandhotpannaṃ tata ūrdhvam | upacayotpannaṃ caturvidhe nopacayena svapnāhārabrahmacaryasamāpattihetukena | āśrayatvotpannamadhyātmakamindriyam | vikārotpannaṃ sukhā divedanotpattau tadanukūla indriyapariṇāmaḥ | paripākotpannaṃ jīrṇāvastham | hānyutpannaṃ sugateścyutvādurgatāvutpadyamānasya | viśeṣotpannaṃ viparyayāt | prabhāsvarotpannaṃ krīḍāpramoṣakāṇāṃ manaḥpradūṣakāṇāṃ nirmāṇaratīnāṃ paranirmitavaśavartināṃ rūpārūpyāvacarāṇāṃ ca devānāṃ pramodabāhulyādbhogeṣu vihāre ca svavaśavarttanādyathāyogam | aprabhāsvarotpannaṃ tadanyat | saṃkrāntyutpannaṃ gamanāvasthāyām | sabījo tpannamarhataścaramān skandhān varjayitvā | abījotpannaṃ caramāḥ skandhāḥ | pratibimbavibhutvanidarśanotpannaṃ jñeyaṃ vastu sabhāgaṃ vaimo kṣikaṃ tāthāgataṃ ca rūpaṃ yathākramam | paraṃparotpannaṃ janmaprabandhe | kṣaṇabhaṅgotpannaṃ pratikṣaṇaṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ lakṣaṇam | saṃyogaviyogotpannaṃ priyāpriyasaṃyogaviyogāvasthāyāṃ cittasya ca sarāgavigatarāgādyavasthāyām | avasthāntarotpannaṃ kalalādyavasthāsu vyādhyādyavasthāsu ca | cyutopapādotpannaṃ sattvalokaḥ | saṃvartavivartotpannaṃ bhājanalokaḥ | pūrvakālotpannaṃ pūrvakālabhavaḥ | maraṇakālotpannaṃ maraṇakālabhavaḥ | antarotpanamantarābhavaḥ | pratisaṃdhikālotpannamupapattibhavaḥ ||
rūpasaṃskāraskandhaikadeśa itīndriyalakṣaṇaḥ saṃprayuktalakṣaṇaśca yathākramam | dharmadhātvāyatanaikadeśaḥ saṃprayuktasvabhāvaḥ | bhoktātmā iṣṭāniṣṭānāṃ viṣayāṇāmupalaṃbhārthena veditavyaḥ | aprāptagrāhakaṃ cakṣuḥ śrotraṃ manaśca | prāptagrāhakaṃ tadanyadindriyam | svalakṣaṇasya vartamānasya pratyekaṃ pratiniyatasya viṣayasya grāhakaṃ pañcendriyajam | svasāmānyalakṣaṇasya sarvakālasya sarvasya viṣayasya grāhakaṃ ṣaṣṭhendriyajam || pratyayasāmagrayā vijñānasyotpattimadhikṛtya prajñaptyāṃ grāhakopacāro veditavyaḥ, na tu bhūtārthena vyāpāratvād dharmāṇāmiti |
yattāvadgrāhakaṃ grāhyamapi tat cakṣurādīnāmapi manovijñānena grāhyatvāt | grāhakagocara evetyavadhāraṇaṃ caitasikavyudāsā rtham ||
śrutacintāmaya tadanudharmapratipattisaṃgṛhītasyā bahirmukhatvam, niṣyandadharmahetukatvāt, tadvaśena nirvāṇādyālaṃvanato draṣṭavyam | niṣyandadharmaḥ punarbuddhādīnāmadhigamānvayā deśanā veditavyā | catvāro dhātavo ghrāṇavijñānadhāturgandhadhāturjihvāvijñānadhātuḥ rasadhātuśca | dve āyatane gandharasāyatane tadanyeṣāmekadeśaḥ kāmadhātusaṃgṛhītaḥ ||
daśānāṃ dhātūnāmiti saptānāṃ vijñānadhātūnāṃ rūpaśabdadharmadhātūnāṃ ca | caturṇāmāyatanānāmiti rūpaśabdamanodharmāyatanānām ||
hetuphalopayo gata ityutpannatvānniruddhatvācca yathākramam | saṃkleśavyavadānakāritrasamatikrāntata iti pratyutpannarāgādiśraddhādivaccittasaṃkleśavyavadānasāmarthyābhāvāt | hetuparigrahavināśato vāsanāṃ sthāpayitvā vinaṣṭatvāt | phalasvalakṣaṇabhāvābhāvato vartamāne kāle tadāhitavāsanāsadbhāvāttadādhāyakadravyābhāvācca | smarasaṃkalpādīnāṃ nimittatvamālaṃvanamātra bhāvādaveditavyam | sarveṣāmekadeśo 'nāgatapratyutpannāsaṃskṛtavarjaḥ ||
hetau satyanutpannata ityasaṃskṛtādviśeṣaṇārtham, taddhayanutpannamapi sanna hetumaditi | labdhasvalakṣaṇato'nirvṛttasvabhāvatvāt | hetuphalānupayogatastadbījasyākṛtakṛtyatvāt tasya cānutpannatvāt |||
hetuphalopayogānupayogataḥ punaranivartyatvādasthitatvācca | atītānāgataprabhāvananimittataḥ pratyutpannamadhiṣṭhāyātītānāgataprajñapteḥ | yattāmavasthāṃ prāpsyati tadanāgatam | yatprāptaṃ tadatītamiti | kāritrapratyupasthānataścakṣurādīnāṃ vijñānāśrayādibhāvāt ||
atītanirdeśādhikāreṇedamapi jñāpyate - kimartha bhagavatātītādīnyeva trīṇi kathāvastūni vyavasthāpitāni na nirvāṇamiti | nirvāṇasya pratyātmavedanīyatayā nirabhilāpyatāmupādāya kathayitumaśakyatvādityarthaḥ, dṛṣṭaśrutamatavijñātavyavahārāṇāṃ bhūtabhavyavartamānādhiṣṭhānatvāt |
daśānāṃ dhātūnāṃ vijñānadhātūnāṃ rūpaśabdadharmadhātūnāṃ ca | caturṇāmāyatanānāṃ rūpaśabdamanodharmāyatanānām | teṣveveti śraddhādiṣu | prakṛtyā'pratisaṃkhyāyeti svarasena, vinā kalyāṇamitrādibalenetyarthaḥ | ruciḥ saṃtiṣṭhata iti na kevalaṃ rucirevopapattiprātilambhikā kiṃ tarhi saha taiḥ śraddhādibhiriti | kuśalasya bhāvanā sarve śrutamayādayaḥ kuśalā dharmāveditavyāḥ | svargāḍhyakulopapattiparigrahābhyāmabhyudayahetuṃ darśyati | vyavadānānukalyaparigraheṇa prāptihetumiti | vidūṣaṇāpratipakṣādayaḥ parastānnirdekṣyante |
tadanyaḥ kleśopakleśo duścaritasamutthāpaka iti sa punaryaḥ kāmā[va] caro'naiḥsargikaḥ, naiḥ sargikastu yo duścaritasamutthāpakaḥ so'ku[śa]laḥ | tadanyo nivṛtāvyākṛto veditavyaḥ | hiṃsāpūrvakaṃ caityaṃ pratiṣṭhāpayati yatrorabhramahiṣādayo hanyante | kudṛṣṭipūrvakaṃ yatrānaśanādibhiḥ pu ṇyārthino varārthinaśca kliśyanta iti | ākṣepakaṃ vā paripūrakaṃ veti durgatimadhikṛtya | sugatau tu paripūrakameva, yenātropapanno dāridrayādikaṃ vyasanaṃ pratyanubhavati | kuśalāntarāyikā dharmā abhīkṣṇaṃ gaṇasaṃnipātādayaḥ | |
aṣṭau dhātavaścakṣuḥ śrotraghrāṇājihvākāyagandharasaspraṣṭavyadhātavaḥ | aṣṭāvāyatanāni tānyeva | aduṣṭāprasannacitasyeti kuśalākuśalaviparyayaṃ darśa[ya]ti | taireva parigṛhītā iti tadākāratvena manojalpasukhavṛttatvāt | teṣāmevābhilāpavāsaneti nāma kāyādibhiścitavāsanā''yatyāmabhilāpapravṛttaye | tatparigṛhīteścittacaitasikairdharmairyatsamutthāpitamityapraduṣṭāprasannacittasya nāmādyabhilāpākārai[ḥ] | akliṣṭākuśalacetaso yadyasya na kliṣṭaṃ nāpi kuśalaṃ ceto bhavati, tata airyāpathikādyavyākṛtaṃ bhavatyanyathā kuśalākuśalaṃ yathāyogamiti | yathāpi tadapratisaṃkhyāyeti kuśalatvādviśepayati, akliṣṭacitta ityakuśalatvāt | pratisaṃkhyāya bhaiṣajyaṃ niṣevate sa rvavyādhipratipakṣeṇārogyārtham | adhigama niṣyandato'vyākṛtaṃ nirmāṇacittaṃ sahajāmiti yaiścittacaitasikaiḥ vikrīḍanārtha nirmāṇaṃ nirme mīyate | sattvahitārtha tu kuśalaṃ veditavyamiti || nidarśanataḥ kuśalādikaṃ yadbuddhādayo vineyārthavaśātsaṃdarśayanti | aku[śa]lasya kathaṃ saṃdarśanam | corādi nirmāya tadanyasattvabhīṣaṇārtha kara caraṇaśiraśchedādisaṃdarśanāt ||
avītarāgasyeti pradeśavairāgyeṇāpyayuktasyā'samādhilābhina ityarthaḥ | itarathā hyanāgamyaṃ kāma pratisaṃyuktaṃ prāpnuyāt | saha samādhilābhāt prahāṇābhirativipakṣabhūtasya dauṣṭhu[lya]sya prahāṇāt pradeśavairāgyamastīti veditavyam | bāhyaṃ tviha rūpādikamavītarāga karmādhipatyanirvṛttatvāt kāmapratisaṃyuktam | sarvasattvasādhā raṇakarmādhipatyasaṃbhūta vacanamavītarāgakarmaṇā rūpārūpyāvacareṣvapi vījino'stitvāt | catvāro dhātavo gandharasaghrāṇajihvāvijñānadhātavaḥ | dve āyatane gandharasāyatane | tadanyeṣāme kadeśaḥ rūpārūpyāvacarānāsravavarjaḥ |
caturo dhātūn dve cāyatane sthāpayitvā nantaroktāni | tadanyeṣāṃ skandhadhātvāyatanānāmeka deśaḥ kāmarūpyā vacarānāsravavarjyaḥ |
caturṇā skandhānāṃ vedanādīnām | trayāṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ manodharmamanovijñānadhātūnām | dvayorāyatanayormanodharmāyatanayoḥ | pradeśaḥ kāmarūpā vacarānāsravavarjyaḥ |
ekadeśavairāgyaṃ bhūmimadhikṛtya yāvadaṣṭamasya kleśaprakārasya prahāṇāt | sakalavairāgyaṃ nava [ma]sya prahāṇāt | satkāyavairāgyaṃ vā punaradhikṛtya śaikṣasyaikadeśavairāgyamaśaikṣasya sakalavairāgyaṃ veditavyam | prativedhavairāgyaṃ darśanamārgeṇa | upaghātavairāgyaṃ laukikena mārgeṇa | samuddhātavairāgyaṃ lokottareṇeti veditavyam | daśavairāgyāṇītyatra prātikūlyārtho vairāgyārtho veditavyonā vaśyaṃ prahāṇārthaḥ | uccataraṃ sthānaṃ prāptavato nihīnesthāne ityuccataraṃ nagaraśraiṣṭhayādisthānaṃ prāptavato grāmamahattarādisthāne nihīne | bālānāṃ nirvāṇa iti tasya śāntatvājñānāt satkāyābhiṣvaṅgācca | pratilabdhadarśanamārgasya traidhātuka iti saṃskāraduḥkhatāṃ parijñātavataḥ sarvasāsrava[va]stunirvedāt | prakṛtyā vairāgyaṃ prakṛtivairāgyaṃ yāvatprahāṇena vairāgyaṃ prahāṇa vairāgyamiti padavigrahajātirveditavyā ||
mokṣaprayuktasya kuśalaṃ śaikṣamiti saṃbhṛtasaṃbhārāvasthāyāḥ prabhṛtimokṣārtha prayuktasya veditavyam | saṃbhṛtasaṃbhā rāvasthā punarādhigāmikamokṣabhāgīyāvasthā veditavyā | daśānāṃ dhātūnāṃ vijñānarūpaśabdadharmadhātūnām | caturṇāmāyatanānāṃ rūpaśabdamanodharmāyatanānām |
śikṣāyāṃ niṣṭhāgatasyetyadhiśīlamadhicittamadhiprajñaṃ ca śikṣāyāṃ niṣṭhāgatasyārhata ityarthaḥ ||
pṛthagjanasya kuśalādikamiti mokṣaprayuktavarjasya | sa hi śikṣāyā[ma]bhiśikṣaṇācchaikṣa ucyata iti | śaikṣasya kliṣṭāvyākṛtamityatra kliṣṭamakuśalaṃ nivṛtāvyākṛtaṃ ca yathāsaṃbhavam | avyākṛtaṃ punaranivṛtāvyākṛtaṃ veditavyam ||
parikalpitā kliṣṭā dṛṣṭirasaddharmaśravaṇapūrvikā pañca daṣṭayaḥ | parikalpitagrahaṇaṃ sahajasatkāyāntagrāhadṛṣṭivyudāsārtham | antagrāhadṛṣṭiḥ kīdṛśī sahajā | ucchedadṛṣṭiryato 'bhisamayaprayuktasyottrāso bhavatyatha kastarhi me ātmeti | dṛṣṭisthānaṃ dṛṣṭisahabhuvo dharmāstadvījaṃ ca tathaiva vicikitsāsthānamapi veditavyam | ye ca dṛṣṭau vipratipannāḥ kleśopakleśā iti ye dṛṣṭimukhena pravṛttā tadālaṃvanāśca rāgādayaḥ | sarveṣāmekadeśo bhāvanāprahātavyānāsravavarjaḥ ||
darśanaprahātavyāviparyayeṇa sāstravā iti parikalpitakliṣṭadṛṣṭayādikādanye sāstravā ityarthaḥ | atra punaḥ sāsravagrahaṇena nirvedhabhāgīyānāmapi grahaṇaṃ veditavyaṃ dauṣṭhulyānubandhārthena | sarveṣāmekadeśaḥ darśanaprahātavyānāsravavarjaḥ ||
skandhānāmekadeśo'prahātavyaḥ , lokottaro mārgastatpṛṣṭalabdhaśca | daśānāṃ [dhātūnāṃ caturṇā cāyatanānām (ekadeśa) iti ] sa cā saṃskṛtaṃ ca | kīdṛśo rūpaśabdadhātū na prahātavyau | aśaikṣasya kuśala kāyavākkarmasvabhāvau |
avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā ityevamādi | tatra asmin satīdaṃ bhavati nirīhapratyayotpattitāmupādāya | sati kevalaṃ pratyaye phalaṃ bhavati, na tu phalotpādanaṃ prati pratyayasya kācidīhetyarthaḥ | asyotpādādidamutpadyate anitya pratyayotpattitāmupādāya, na hyanutpādi kāraṇāt kiṃcidutpadyamānaṃ kārya siddhamiti kṛtvā | avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā ityevamādi samarthapratyayotpattitāmupādāya nirīhakatvānityatve'pi sati na yataḥ kutaścit pratyayāt sarvameva phalamutpadyate, kitarhi samarthāt | tadyathā'vidyātaḥ saṃskārā yāvajjātito jarāmaraṇamiti ||
yānyavidyādīni dvādaśāṅgāni vibhaktāni tānyeva punaḥ samasya catvāryaṅgāni bhavantyākṣepā ṅgādīni | etāvacca pravṛttinirdeśe nirdeṣṭavyam yaduta hetukāle yenākṣipyate yaccākṣipyate phalakāle yenābhinirvartyate yaccābhinirvatyate tadetatsarvamebhiraṅgainirdiṣṭaṃ veditavyam | tatra ākṣepakāṅgamavidyāsaṃskārā vijñānaṃ ca, anāgatajanmābhinirvṛttaye satyeṣvajñānapūrvakeṇa karmaṇā cittavāsanārthena | ākṣiptāṅgaṃ nāmarūpaṃ ṣaḍāyatanaṃ sparśo vedanā ca, tayā cittavāsanayā nāmarūpādīnā māyatyāṃ pūrvotarasaṃniśrayakrameṇābhinirvṛtaye bījapuṣṭitaḥ | abhinirvartakāṅgaṃ tṛṣṇā upādānaṃ bhavaśca, aprahīṇakāmādi tṛṣṇādi vasena kāmādiṣu sucarita duścaritaprakāra ratipūrvakeṇa chandarāgeṇa sopādāne vijñāne sati maraṇāvasthāyāṃ phaladānaṃ prati chanda rāgānurūpyāntarakarmavāsanābhimukhībhāvāt | abhinirvṛttyaṅgaṃ jātirjarāmaṇaṃ ca, tena prakāreṇa karmāntaravāsanābhimukhye satyanyatarasmin gatiyonyādibhedabhinne nikāyasabhāge yathākṣipte nāmarūpādinirvṛtteḥ | jātijarāmaraṇavacanaṃ saṃskṛtalakṣaṇatrayādhikāreṇodvejanārtham | jarāmaraṇasyaikāṅgakaraṇaṃ vināpi jarāṃ maraṇa saṃbhavā t | na tvevaṃ jarāyujāyāṃ yonau vinā nāmarūpādibhiḥ ṣaḍāyatanādīnāṃ saṃbhava ityeṣāṃ pṛthagaṅgīkaraṇaṃ veditavyam ||
aṅgapratya[yatvavya] vasthānaṃ caturaḥ pratyayānadhikṛtya | tatra tāvadavidyā saṃskārāṇāṃ pūrvotpannāvāsanato hetupratyayaḥ, tatparibhāvitasaṃtānotpannānāṃ karmaṇāṃ punarbhavābhisaṃskaraṇasāmarthyāt tatkālasamudācāriṇī | āvedhataḥ samanantarapratyayaḥ, tadākṣepakaviśeṣeṇa saṃskārastrotānupravṛtteḥ | manaskārata ālaṃbanapratyayaḥ, mūḍhāvasthāyā agratā dibhirayoniśomanaskārālaṃvanībhāvāt | sahabhāvato'dhipatipratyayaḥ, tadādhipatyena tatsaṃprayuktāyāścetanāyā viparītālaṃvanābhisaṃskaraṇāt |
avidyā bhave sattvān saṃmohayati, tadāvṛtteḥ pūrvāntāparāntamadhyāntānāṃ yathābhūtāparijñānāt | yata evaṃ vicikitsati - kiṃ nvahama bhūvamati[te] 'dhvanyāhosvinnābhūvamityevamādi | pratyayaśca bhavati saṃskārāṇām tadvaśena punarbhavikakarmopacayāt | saṃskārā gatiṣu sattvāna vibhajanti, karmavaśena sattvānāṃ gatyantaragamanavaicitryāt | pratyayāśca bhavanti vijñānasya vāsanāyāḥ, āyatyā nāmarūpā bhinirvṛttaye vījapoṣaṇāt | vijñānaṃ karmabandhaṃ dhārayati, saskārā hitavāsanāsahotpatteḥ | pratyayaśca bhavati nāmarūpasya, mātuḥ kukṣau vijñānāvakrāntyā nāmarūpavivṛddhigamanāt | nāmarūpamātmabhāvaṃ sattvān grāhayati tannivṛttyā sattvānāṃ nikāyasabhāgāntarabha janāt | nāmarūpā donāṃ ṣaḍāyatanādipratyayabhāvaḥ pūrvāṅgasaṃniśrayeṇottarāṅganirvṛtti to draṣṭavyaḥ | ṣaḍāyatana mātmabhāvaparipūri ca sattvān grāhayati, tannivṛttāvindriyāntarāvaikalyāt | pratyayaśca bhavati sparśasya | sparśo viṣayopabhoge sattvān pravartayati, tanmukhena sukhavedanīyāditrividhaviṣayopabhogāt | pratyayaśca bhavati vedanāyāḥ | vedanā janmopabhoge ca sattvān pravartayati, tadadhiṣṭhāneneṣṭādikarmavipākopabhogāt | pratyayaśca bhavati tṛṣṇāyāḥ, tatsaṃprayogādyabhilāṣamukhena tṛṣṇotpatteḥ | tṛṣṇā janmani sattvānākarṣati, tadvaśena janmāntarastroto'nupacchedāt | pratyayaśca bhavatyupādānasya, āsvādaprārthanāmukhena kāmādiṣu chandarāgapravṛtteḥ | upādānaṃ puna rbhavādānāya sopādānaṃ ca sattvānāṃ vijñānaṃ karoti, narakādigativiśiṣṭapunarbhavapratisaṃdhaye karmavāsanāniyamāt | pratyayaśca bhavati bhavasya, tadvaśena saṃskāravāsanayovṛ ttilābhāt | bhavaḥ punarbhave sattvānabhimukhokaroti, anantaragatyantarāvāhanāt pratyayaśca bhavati jāteḥ, tato nikāyasabhāgāntaranirvṛtteḥ | jātirnāma rūpādyānupūrvyā sattvānabhinirvartayati, uttarottarāvasthāntarāvāhanāt | pratyayaśca bhavati jarāmaraṇasya, jātau satyāṃ tatprabandha syānyathātvavināśasaṃbhavāt | jarāmaraṇaṃ punaḥpunarvayaḥ pariṇāmena jīvitapariṇāmena ca sattvān yojayati, yauvanāyuṣovināśena yojanāt ||
vijñānasya karma[saṃ]kleśasaṃgrahaṇaṃ saṃskāravāsanāprabhāvitatvādvijñānāṅgasyaḥ
niṣkartṛkārtha īśvarādikartṛrahitatvāt | sahetukārtho'vidyādihetukatvāt | niḥsatvārthaḥ svayamanātmatvāt | paratantrārthaḥ pratyayādhīnatvāt | nirīhakārthaḥ pratyayānāṃ nirvyāpāratvāt | anityārtho'śāśvatatvāt | kṣaṇikārtha utpattikālāt pareṇānavasthānāt | hetuphalaprabandhānupacchedārthaḥ kāraṇakṣaṇa nirodhasamakālaṃ kāryakṣaṇotpādāt | anurūpahetuphalaparigrahā rthaḥ sarvataḥ sarvasyāsaṃbhavāt | vicitra hetuphalārtho'nekai kajātīyātkāraṇādekā nekajātīyakāryotpatteḥ | pratiniyatahetuphalārthaḥ saṃtānāntarāphalanāt ||
punarebhirevārthaḥ pratītyasamutpādasya pañcavidhaṃ gāmbhīrya veditavyam | hetugāmbhīrya viṣamahetvahetuvādapratipakṣena dvābhyāmarthābhyām | lakṣaṇagāmbhīrya nirātmakatayaikārthena | utpattigāmbhīrya pratyayebhyaḥ phalotpattāvapyatatkṛtatayā dvābhyāma rthābhyām | sthiti gāmbhīryamavyavasthitānāṃ sthityābhāsanāddvābhyāmarthābhyām | pravṛttigāmbhīrya hetuphalapravṛttidurvijñānatvāccaturbhirarthairiti ||
antareṇa eva kartāraṃ karma kriyā cāsti tatphalopabhogaścetyayamatra karmaphalāvipraṇāśo veditavyaḥ ||
na svayaṃkṛto dharmo'nutpannasyābhāvādyenāsau kriyeta | na parakṛtaḥ pratyayānāmakartṛkatvāt | nobhayakṛta etenaiva kāraṇadvayena | nāsvayaṃkārāpa[ra]kārahetusamutpannaḥ hetupratyayānāṃ phalotpattau sāmarthyāt || aparaḥ paryāyaḥ | na svayaṃkṛtaḥ pratyayāpekṣaṇāt | na parakṛtaḥ satsvapi pratyayeṣu nirvījasyānutpādāt | nobhaya kṛta stadubhayonirīhakatvāt | nāhetusamutpanno bījapratyayānāṃ śaktisadbhā[vā]diti | bhavati hyapi-
svabījatvānna parataḥ na svayaṃ tadapekṣaṇāt |
niśceṣṭatvānna ca dvābhyāṃ tacchakternāpyahetutaḥ || iti |
na svayaṃ na parato dvividhakoṭipratikṣepe 'pi gambhīraḥ pratītyasamutpādaḥ syāt prāgeva yatra catastro'pi koṭayaḥ pratikṣipyante, tasmādetasya paramagāmbhīrya veditavyam ||
vijñānotpattiprabhedataścakṣuḥpratītyarūpāṇi cotpadyate cakṣurvijñānamityevamādi | vyutpattiprabhedataḥ satvalokamadhikṛtya, avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā ityevamādi | bāhya vasyotpattiprabhedato bījaṃ pratītyāṅkuraḥ , aṅkuraṃ pratītya kāṇḍaḥ | tathā nā'patrapuṣpaphalāni yojyāni | saṃvartavivartaprabhedataḥ sarvasattvasādhāraṇakarmādhipatyaṃ pratītya mahāpṛthivyādīnāmutpādāt | āhāropastambhaprabhedataścatura āhārān pratītya traidhātuke satvānā mavasthānāt | iṣṭāniṣṭagati vibhāgaprabhedataḥ sucarita duścarite pratītya sugatidurgatigamanāt | viśuddhiprabhedato mokṣa bhāgīyāni pratītya nirvedhabhāgīyotpattito yāvaddarśanabhāvanāmārgānupūrvyārhattvaprāptitaḥ, parato vā ghoṣaṃ pratītyādhyātmaṃ ca yoniśo manaskāraṃ samyagdṛṣṭistato yāvatsarvāsravakṣaya iti | prabhāvaprabhedato'dhigamaṃ pratītyābhijñādayo vaiśeṣikā guṇā iti | ebhiḥ prabhedaivistareṇa saṃskārāṇāṃ pratītyasamutpādo'nusartavyaḥ ||
[saṃ]kleśānulomapratiloma iti pravṛtyānupūrvīmadhikṛtya, avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārā ityevamādyanulomanirdeśaḥ | jarāmaraṇaṃjarāmara[ṇa]samudayo [jarāmaraṇanirodho] jarāmaraṇanirodhagāminī pratipaditi satyavyavasthānamadhikṛtya pratilomanirdeśo veditavyaḥ |
[vyavadānānulomapratilomata iti ] tadyathā'vidyānirodhāt saṃskāranirodha ityevamādi vyavadānānulomanirdeśaḥ | kasminnasati na jarāmaraṇaṃ bhavati kasya nirodhājjarāmaraṇanirodha iti pratilomanirdeśataḥ ||
hetupratyaya ālayavijñānaṃ kuśalavāsanā ca sāstravānāstravāṇāṃ ca saṃskārāṇāṃ yathākramam | ālayavijñānaṃ punardvividham - vaipā kikamābhisaṃskārikaṃ ca | tatra vaipākika mupapattiprātilambhikānāṃ hetupratyayaḥ | ābhisaṃskārikaṃ prāyogikānāmāyatyāṃ cālaya vijñānāntarasya hetupratyayo draṣṭavyaḥ | ābhisaṃskārikaṃ punarālayavijñānaṃ tajjānmikapravṛttivijñānasamudācāravāsitaṃ veditavyam | kuśalavāsanā mokṣabhāgī yānāṃ vāsanā draṣṭavyā | teṣāṃ lokottarābhyupaga maniṣyandadharmanaimittikatastadvā sanāyā lokottaradharmahetutvaṃ veditavyam ||
api khalu svabhāvato'pītyevamādinā ṣaḍḍhetavo hetupratyaya iti darśayati | tatra svabhāvataḥ prabhedataśca kāraṇahetorvyavasthānam | śeṣaiḥ padaiḥ yathākramaṃ sahabhūsaṃprayuktasabhāgasarvatragavipākahetūnāṃ vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam |
hetusvabhāvamadhikṛtya kāraṇahetuvyavasthānātsarvahetavaḥ kāraṇahetāvantarbhūtā veditavyāḥ | sahāyādiviśeṣaprabhāvanārtha tu pṛthagvyavasthānam |
kāraṇahetuprabhede vijñānasāmagrayādikaṃ yannirdiṣṭamudāharaṇamātraṃ taddraṣṭavyam , tayā diśā'nyasyāpi tajjātīyasyābhyūhanārtham | tatra utpattikāraṇaṃ tataḥ kāryasyābhūtvā prādurbhāvāt | sthitikāraṇamutpannasya prabandhānupacchedāt | dhṛtikā raṇaṃ pātapratibandhāt | prakāśanakāraṇamāvṛtasyābhivyañjanāt | vikārakāraṇaṃ tatsaṃtānasyānyathātvāpādanāt | viyogakāraṇaṃ saṃbandhasya dvaidhīkaraṇāt | pariṇatikāraṇaṃ tadavayavānāṃ deśāntarasaṃcaraṇāt | saṃpratyayakāraṇaṃ tena viparokṣānumānāt | saṃpratyāyanakāraṇaṃ tena samyaṅniścayāt | prāpaṇakāraṇaṃ tenādhigamāt | vyavahārakāraṇaṃ yathānāmadheyaṃ nimittodgrahaṇenābhiniviśyānuvyavaharaṇāt | apekṣākāraṇamanyatreccho tpattinimittatvāt | ākṣepakāraṇaṃ tadanvayāvasthāntaraparāparabhāvina āvedhakatvāt | ābhinirvṛtti kāraṇamanantarabhāvino ja nakatvāt | parigrahakāraṇaṃ svabījotpādina upodvalatvāt | āvāhanakāraṇaṃ tadānukūlyenākarṣaṇāt | pratiniyamakāraṇaṃ bhinnasvabhāvatayānyonyaphalatvāt | sahakārikāraṇaṃ svakārya nirvartane kāraṇāntarāpekṣaṇāt | virodhi kāraṇaṃ vidhnakaraṇāt | avirodhikāraṇaṃ tadviparyayeṇa veditavyam ||
tadyathā bhūtāni bhautikaṃ ceti yathāsaṃbhavaṃ na tvavaśyaṃ sarvatra saṃghāte catvāri mahābhūtāni bhavanti rūpādikaṃ vā bhautikam | ityato yadyatrāsti tattena sahotpadyate nānyonyaṃ vineti ||
sahāyanaiyamyena sahabhūheturvyavasthāpitaḥ | bhūtāni bhautikaṃ cetyudāharaṇamātrametadveditavyam, cittacaitasikānāmanyonyamavinābhāvaniyamāt | yadyevaṃ saṃprayuktahetoḥ pṛthagvyavasthānaṃ na prāpnoti, cittacaitasikānāṃ sahabhūhetāvantarbhāvāt | yadyapyetadevaṃ tathāpyanyenārthena | ye dharmāḥ sahabhāvenālaṃbanaṃ pratipadyante nānyatama vaikalyena te saṃpratipattitaḥ saṃprayuktakaheturvyavasthāpyate, na sahabhāvamātreṇa, tadyathā cittai caitasikāśca ||
pūrvabhāvitānāmi ti pūrvābhyastānāṃ pūrvaṃ samudācaritānāmityarthaḥ | yā aparānte uttarottarā puṣṭataratamā pravṛttiriti taiḥ paripoṣitabījānāṃ tadanvayānāmanāgate kāle viśiṣṭotpattito draṣṭavyā | evamayaṃ sabhāgahetuḥ sadṛśānāṃ puṣṭinimittatvena vyavasthāpitaḥ ||
sarvatragaheturna kevalaṃ sadṛśasyaiva puṣṭaye kiṃ tarhi yasya kasyacidrāgādeḥ kleśasyābhyāsena sarveṣāṃ dveṣādīnāṃ prabandhapuṣṭayā dṛḍhīkāro bhavatyato vandhanagāḍho karaṇānmokṣaprāptiparipanthārthenāsya vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||
vipākahetuḥ punarāyatyāmekāntavisadṛśasyaivānivṛttāvyākṛtasyātmabhāvasaṃgra hītavyavipākasyākṣepakatvāt parigrahārthena vyavasthāpitaḥ | kuśalasāsravagrahaṇamanāstravāṇāṃ janmavirodhitvenānākṣepakatvāt ||
nairantaryasamanantarato'pīti nāvaśyaṃ kṣaṇanairantarya kitarhi cittāntaranairantaryamapyatra nairantarya draṣṭavyam | itarathā hyacittikasamāpattau vyutthānacittasya samāpatticittaṃ na samanantarapratyayaḥ syāt | bhavati ca | tasmādekasmin saṃtāne paścimasya cittasya pūrvakaṃ cittaṃ cittāntareṇānantaritaṃ samanantarapratyayaḥ | yathā cittamevaṃ caitasikā api veditavyāḥ | sabhāgavisabhāgacittacaittotpattisama[na]ntarato'pīti kuśalāḥ cittacettāḥ kuśalānāṃ sabhāgānāmakuśalāvyākṛtānāṃ ca visabhāgānāmanantarotpannānāṃ samanantarapratyayaḥ | evaṃ kuśalāvyākṛtāḥ svānyaprakārāṇāṃ yojayitavyāḥ | tadyathā kāmāvacarā kāmāvacarāṇāṃ rūpārūpyāvacarānāstravāṇāṃ cānantarotpannānāṃ samanantarapratyayaḥ | evaṃ rūpāvacarādayo'pi pṛthagpṛthagrūpāvacarādonāṃ kāmāvacarādīnāṃ cā[na]ntarotpannānāmiti yojayitavyam ||
kiṃ khalu sarvasya cintasyānantaraṃ sarva cittamutpadyate, ahosvidasti pratiniyamaḥ | astītyucyate | avaitasya cittasyānantaramidaṃ cedaṃ ca cittamutpadyata ityucyamāne bahuvaktavyaṃ jāyate | tasmātsāmānyena cittotpattau lakṣaṇamātraṃ vyavasthāpyate | tadyathā daśabhirbalaiścittasyotpādo veditavyaḥ - paricayabalena chandabalena prayogabalena samāpatti balena''bedhabalena hetubalena viṣayabalena smṛtibalena manaskārabalena pratisaṃdhibalena ca | paricayabalaṃ punastrividham -mṛdu madhyamadhimātraṃ ca | samāpattisthitivyutthānanimittānāmanupalakṣitatvānmṛdu | upalakṣitānāṃ svaparicitta tvānmadhyam | suparicitatopalakṣi tatvā dadhimātram | tatra mṛdunā paricayabalena dhyānārūpyāṇāma[nu] pūrvyasamāpattirveditavyā | madhyena vyutkrāntakasamāpattirekāntarikayogena | adhimātreṇa yatheṣṭaṃ sarvāṇi vā vyutkrāmyānulomaṃ pratilomaṃ ca samāpattirveditavyā | chandabalena dvitīyadhyāna lābhī prathamaṃ dhyānaṃ samāpanno yadyākāṃkṣati dvitīyadhyānabhūmikaṃ vyutthānacittamāmukhīkarotyatha nā kāṃkṣati kāmāvacaraṃ kuśalamanivṛtāvyākṛtaṃ vā | evamanyatrāpi vistareṇa yojyam | prayogabalena kāmāvacarasya kuśalasyavānantaraṃ tatprathamato rūpāvacaraṃ cittamutpadyate | anāgamyasya kuśalasyānantaraṃ maulam | maulasya kuśalasyānantaraṃ dvitīyadhyānasamāpannakamityevamādi vistareṇa yāvadbhavāgrāt veditavyam | samāpattibalena śuddhakaṃ samāpannasya kadācicchuddhaka mevotpadyate kadācitkliṣṭam | āvedhavalena samādhervyutthāya caratastāvatsamāhitabhūmikaṃ cittam[a]samāhitakṣaṇānantaravyatibhinnamanuvartate yāvattadvirodhikleśasamudācārātparihīṇa iti | tadvirodhi kleśasaṃprayuktasya punaścittasya hetvādibhiśca turbhirbalaiḥ samudācāro veditavyaḥ - tatra tāvaddhetubalena yadyavaśyaṃ bhūmiparihāṇisaṃvartanīyamāvaraṇaṃ pūrvamupacitaṃ bhavati, viṣayabalena yadi rāgādyutpatyanukūlaḥ śubhādinimittaḥ prabhāvotkaṭaviṣaya ābhāsasamāgato bhavati, smṛtivalena yadi smaraṇasaṃkalpai ratītānviṣayān prapañcayati, manaskārabalena yadi mīmāṃsāmanaskāreṇānyatarānyataracchubhanimittaṃ manasikarotīti | pratisaṃdhibalena nava maraṇacittānyātmabhāvatṛṣṇāsaṃprayuktāni triṣu dhātuṣupratyekaṃ kāmarūpārūpyāvacarāṇi | tatra kāmadhātoścyutvā kāmadhātāveva pratisaṃdhi vadhnataḥ kāmāvacaramātmabhāvatṛṣṇāsaṃprayuktaṃ maraṇacittaṃ veditavyam | rūpārūpyadhātvoḥ pratisaṃdhi badhnato rūpārūpyāvacaram | tathā rūpārūpyadhātubhyāṃ cyutvā tatra vānyatra votpadyamānasya ṣaṭcittāni yojayitavyāni | sā punarātmabhāvatṛṣṇā sahajā'ni rūpitālaṃvanānivṛtāvyākṛtā ca | ātmabhāvajātiścāsyāḥ prakārāparicchedenālaṃvanaṃ veditavyam | tadvaśenā[na]ntaraṃ pṛthagjanānāma ntarābhavapratisaṃdhiḥ | āryāṇāmapyavītarāgāṇāṃ maraṇakāle yāvadaspaṣṭasaṃjñāvasthāṃ na gacchati tāvadasau tṛṣṇā samudācarati | te tvenāṃ paricchidya pratipakṣeṇābhinigṛhṇanti | vītarāgāṇāṃ tvāryāṇāṃ pratipakṣasya valīyastvānnaivāsau samudācaratyaprahīṇāpi satī | tada nuśayavaśena tu teṣāṃ pratisaṃdhiḥ | antarā bhavapratisaṃdhikṣaṇaḥ punarnityamanivṛtāvyākṛta eva vipākatvāt | tata ūrdhva kuśalo'pya kuśalo'pyavyākṛto'pi yathāsaṃbhavam, cyuticittaṃ sthāpayitvā | antarābhavacyuticittaṃ tu nityaṃ kliṣṭaṃ maraṇabhavavat | upapattipratisaṃdhiḥ punarnityamanivṛtāvyākṛta eveti veditavyam | bodhisattvānāṃ tu praṇidhānabalenopapadyamānānāṃ maraṇacittā dikamekāntena sarva kuśalaṃ veditavyam | samāptaḥ samanantara pratyayaprasaṅgaḥ ||
paricchinnaviṣayālaṃbanataḥ pañcānāṃ vijñānakāyānāmālaṃvanam, pratiniyataviṣayatvāt pañcānāṃ vijñānakāyānām | aparicchinnaviṣayālaṃbanataḥ manovijñānasyālaṃbanam, sarvadharmaviṣayatvānmanovijñānasya | acitrīkāraviṣayālaṃbanato'vyutpannasaṃjñānāṃ manovijñānasyālaṃbanam, nāmato'kṣarokartumaśakyatvāt | citrīkāraviṣayālaṃbanatastadviparya[yā]dveditavyam | savastukaviṣayālaṃbanato dṛṣṭimasmimānaṃ tatsaṃprayuktāṃśca dharmān sthāpayitvā tadanyeṣāmālaṃbanam | avastukaviṣayālaṃvanataḥ sthāpitānāmālaṃvanam, ātmādhiṣṭhānatvāt | vastvā laṃbanato'nāstravālaṃvanān visabhāgadhātubhūmisarvatragānanivāritavastukāṃścātītā nāgatālaṃvanān sthāpayitvā tadanyeṣāmālaṃvanam | parikalpālaṃvanataḥ sthāpitānāmālaṃbanam, svaparikalpamātrālaṃbanāt | viparyastālaṃbanaṃ nityādyākārāṇām | aviparyastālaṃbanamanityādyākārāṇām | savyāghātālaṃbanamaprahīṇajñeyāvaraṇānām | avyāghātālaṃbanaṃ prahīṇajñeyāvaraṇānāmiti ||

pratiṣṭhādhipatitaḥ vāyumaṇḍalādīnyammaṇḍalādīnām, bhājanalokaḥ sattvalokasya, bhūtāni bhautikānām, indriyāṇi vijñānānā mityevamādi | āvedhādhipatitaḥ sarvasattvasādhāraṇaṃ karma bhājanalokasya, paurāṇaṃ sāsravakarma vipākasyetyevamādi sahabhāvādhipatitaḥ cittaṃ caitasānām, manaskāraḥ cittasya, sparśī vedanāyā ityevamādi | ataḥ paraṃ dvāviśati mindriyāṇyadhikṛtyādhipativyavasthānaṃ veditavyam | tatra viṣayādhipatitaḥ cakṣuḥśrotraghrāṇajihvākāyamanaindriyānām, tadādhipatyena rūpādyabhi nirvṛtteḥ | prasavādhipatitaḥ strīpuruṣendriyayoḥ, tadādhipatyena garbhāvakramaṇāt | sthānādhipatito jīvitendriyasya, tadvaśena nikāyasabhāgasthānāt | phalopabhogādhipatitaḥ sukhaduḥkhasaumanasyo pekṣendriyāṇām, tadadhiṣṭhāneneṣṭāniṣṭavipākapratisaṃvedanāt | laukikaviśudhya dhipatitaḥ śraddhāvīryasmṛtisamādhiprajñendriyāṇām, taiḥ kleśaviṣkambhaṇāt | lokottaraviśudhyadhipatito'nājñāta mājñāsyā mīndriyasyājñendriyasyājñātāvīndriyasya ca vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam, tairanuśayasamudghātāditi ||
vijñānāvirahitatatsādṛśyendriyaviṣayaprabandhotpattitaḥ sabhāgaṃ veditavyam, vijñānasahitasya vijñānasādṛśyenendriyasya viṣayeṣu prabandhenotpatteḥ vijñānavṛttisādṛśyārthena tadindriyaṃ sabhāgamityucyate | vijñāna virahitasvasādṛśyaprabandhotpattitastatsabhāgam, vijñānena viprayuktasye ndriyasya svātmasādṛśyena prabandhotpattirindriyalakṣaṇasādṛśyārthena tatsabhāgaṃ veditavyam | rūpaskandhaikadeśaścakṣurādipañcendriyalakṣaṇaḥ | pañca rūpīṇi dhātvāyatanāni cakṣurādīnītyeva |
vedanotpattyāśrayarūpata iti yadrūpamāśritya vedanotpadyate tadupāttamityucyate | rūpaskandhaikadeśaḥ sādhiṣṭhānendriyasaṃgahītaḥ | pañca rūpīṇi dhātvāyatanāni cakṣurādīni | caturṇācaṃkadeśaḥ rūpagandharasaspraṣṭavyānāmindriyāvinirbhāgī ||
viṣayagrahaṇādhipatitaścakṣurādīnāṃ ṣaṇṇām, tadādhipatyena rūpādyālaṃbane cittacaitapravṛteḥ | kulaprabandhādhipatitaḥ strīpuruṣendriyayoḥ, tataḥ putrapautrādyanvayapravṛtteḥ | śeṣaṃ yathādhipatipratyaye nirdiṣṭaṃ tathānugantavyam | rūpaskandhaikadeśaścakṣuḥ śrotraghrāṇajihvākāyastropuru ṣendriyalakṣaṇaḥ | saṃskāraskandhaikadeśo jīvitaśraddhāvīryasmṛtisamādhiprajñendriyalakṣaṇaḥ | dvādaśa dhātava indriyavijñānadhātavaḥ | ṣaḍāyatanānyādhyātmikāni | dharmadhātvāya tanaikadeśaśca jīvitendriyaṃ sukhādīni śraddhādāni pañca ||
duḥkhā vedanā duḥkhātmikā satī svenaiva lakṣaṇena duḥkhaduḥkhatāḥ | tadutpattinimittabhūtāstvindriyārthāstatsaṃprayuktāśca duḥkhavedanīyatvādduḥkhaduḥkhatā draṣṭavyā ||
sukhāyā vedanāyāstadvedanīyānāṃ ca dharmāṇāṃ vipariṇāmena daurmanasyotpādāt tadvipariṇatirvipariṇāmaduḥkhatā | tatra cānunayena cittasya vipariṇamanaṃ vipariṇāmaduḥkhatā veditavyā | yathoktamavadīrṇo vipariṇatena citteneti ||
aduḥkhāsukhā vedanā''layavijñānasaṃprayuktā tadvedanīyāśca saṃskārā duḥkhavipariṇāmaduḥkhatayodauṣṭhulyenānugatatvāttena duḥkhatādvayenāvinirmuktatvādekadā duḥkhā vasthāṃ bhajante ekadā sukhāvasthāṃ, na nityakālamaduḥkhāsukhāvasthā eva bhavanti | tasmādanityatānubandhārthenāyogakṣematvātsaṃskāraduḥkhatā veditavyā | skandhānām | trayāṇāṃ dhātūnāṃ manodharmamanovijñānadhātūnām | dvayoścāyatanayormanodharmāyatanayoḥ | ekadeśaṃ sthāpayitvā 'nāsravalakṣaṇam, tadanyāni sarvāṇī ta ||
akuśalasya kuśalasāsravasya cāyatyā sasaṃprayogamālayavijñānaṃ vipākaḥ | atastena vipākena tadubhayaṃ savipākamityucyate | skandhānām | daśānāṃ dhātūnāṃ vijñānarūpaśabdadharma dhātūnām | caturṇā cāyatanānāṃ rūpaśabdamanodharmāyatanānām | ekadeśo'vyākṛtānāsravavarjaḥ | ālayavijñānāttadanyattu cakṣurādikaṃ ca sukhaduḥkhādikaṃ ca tadvipākrajamityākhyāṃ labhate tato jātamiti kṛtvā |
pariṇatitaḥ pāriṇāmikaḥ kavaḍīkāra āhāraḥ, pariṇāmakāle indriyamahābhūtapoṣaṇāt | viṣayato vaiṣayikaḥ sparśāhāraḥ, iṣṭaviṣayā dhiṣṭhānena sparśenāśrayānugrahaṇāt | āśāta āśikaḥ manaḥ saṃcetanāhāraḥ, abhipretavastuprativaddhāśāvaśenāśrayānugrahaṇāt | upādānata aupādānikaḥ vijñānamāhāraḥ, ālayavijñānopā dānavaśenātmabhā vopasthānāt | tathāhi tadviyukta āśrayaḥ pūtībhavatīti |
punaścatvāro'pyāhārāḥ samasya caturbhiḥ prabhedairvyavasthāpyante | tadyathā aśuddhāśraya sthitikaḥ kāmāvacarāṇāṃ pṛthagjanānām, sakalabandhanatvāt | śuddhāśuddhāśrayasthitikaḥ śaikṣāṇāṃ rūpārūpyāvacarāṇāṃ ca pṛthagjanānām, sāvaśeṣavandhanatvāt | śuddhāśrayasthitiko'rhatām, sarvabandhanavinirmuktatvāt | sthitisāṃdarśiko buddhānāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ ca mahāprabhāvaprāptānām, āhāravaśena sthitiriti saṃdarśanamātratvāt ||
a saṃskṛtaikadeśaḥ niṣpannasvabhāvaḥ sottaramiti nirvāṇaṃ muktvā, tasya sarvadharmāgratvādiśuddhāyāśca tathatāyāstallakṣaṇatvāt ||
samāsataḥ prabhedastrividhaḥ, trividhaṃ svabhāvamadhikṛtya pudgalanairātmyanayena veditavyaḥ | tatra parikalpitaḥ svabhāvaḥ skandhādīnyadhiṣṭhāyāvidyamāna ātmādisvabhāvo yaḥ parikalpitaḥ | paratantraḥ svabhāvastānyeva skandhādīni yatrāsāvātma dyabhūtavikalpaḥ pravṛttaḥ | pariniṣpannaḥ svabhāvo bhāvābhāvaviyuktalakṣaṇā hi tathatā, skandhādiṣvātmādyabhāvanairātmyā stitā lakṣaṇatvāt ||
lakṣaṇaprabhedo dharmāṇāṃ svabhāvamadhikṛtya, rūpaṃ vedanetyevamādi | prakāra[pra] bhedo viśeṣamadhikṛtya, dravyasantaḥ prajñaptisanta inyevamādi | āśrayaprabhedaḥ pratyātmabhāvaṃ skandhādīnāṃ nānātvamadhikṛtya |
saṃtatiprabheda ekasminapyātmabhāve skandhādīnāṃ pratilakṣaṇamanyathātvamadhikṛtya ||
bahirmukhaprabhedo yadbhūyasā kāmāvacara iti bhūyograhaṇaṃ niṣpandadharmahetukaśrutacintāmayavyudāsārtham || samāptaḥ prabhedaḥ ||
lakṣaṇasaṃgraheṇa rūpaskandho rūpaskandhenaiva saṃgṛhīto vistareṇa yāvaddharmāyatanaṃ dharmāyata[ne]naiva | dhātusaṃgraheṇa sarvāṇi skandhadhātvāyatanānyālayavijñānena saṃgṛhītāni, sarveṣāṃ tatra bījato'stitvāt | jātisaṃgraheṇa skandhaiḥ rāśyādyarthayuktā rūpādayaḥ sarve saṃgṛhītā vilakṣaṇā apyanyonyaṃ svalakṣaṇenaikajātīyatvāt | evaṃ dhātubhiścāyatanaiścopabhogadhāraṇārthayuktā āyadvārārthayuktāścakṣurādayaḥ saṃgṛhītā veditavyāḥ | avasthāsaṃgraheṇa skandhā ekajātīyā api sukhādyavasthāṃ niyamayya sukhāvasthāḥ sukhāvasthaireva saṃgṛhītā na duḥkhādyavasthaiḥ | evaṃ duḥkhāvasthā'duḥkhāsukhā vasthāśca tadavasthai [re]va saṃgṛhītāḥ | yathā skandhā evaṃ dhātava āyatanāni ca | sahāyasaṃgraheṇa rūpaskandhaḥ saha tadāśritairvedanādibhiḥ sahāyairgṛhyamāṇaḥ pañcabhiḥ skandhaiḥ saṃgṛhītaḥ | evaṃ vedanādayā'pi pratyekaṃ saparivārā gṛhyamāṇāḥ pañcabhiḥ skandhaiḥ saṃgṛhītā bhavanti | tathā dhātava āyatanāni ca saparivārāṇi pratyekaṃ sarvardhātubhirāyataneśca saṃgṛhītāni veditavyāni | ekadeśasaṃgraheṇa śīlaskandho rūpaskandhaikadeśena saṃgṛhītaḥ | samādhiprajñāskandhau saṃskāraskandhaikadeśena | kāmavyāpādahiṃsādhātavo dharmadhātvekadeśena saṃgṛhītāḥ | ākāśānantyāyatanādīni manodharmāyatanaikadeśena saṃgṛhītāni | evaṃ kṛtvā yāvanto dharmāḥ skandhadhātvāyatanaiḥ saṃgṛhītāḥ sūtrāntareṣu teṣāmanyatamasaṃgraha ekadeśasaṃgraho veditavyaḥ | sakalasaṃgraheṇa duḥkhaskandhaḥ pañcabhirupādānaskandhaiḥ saṃgṛhītaḥ, kāmadhāturaṣṭādaśabhirdhātubhiḥ, asaṃjñi sattvāyatanaṃ daśabhirāyatanaṃgandharasāyatanavarjaiḥ saṃgṛhītam | evaṃ kṛtvā yāvanto dharmāḥ skandha dhātvāyatanaṃḥ saṃgṛhītāḥ sūtrāntareṣu teṣāmaśeṣataḥ saṃgrahaḥ sakalasaṃgraho veditavyaḥ | itaretarasaṃgraheṇa skandhāḥ pratyekaṃ dhātubhirāyatanaiśca saṃgṛhītāḥ, yathāyogamevaṃ dhātavaḥ skandhāyatanarāyatanāni skandhadhātubhiḥ saṃgṛhītāni [iti] vistareṇāvagantavyam ||
saṃgrahalakṣaṇaṃ punarlokaprasiddhasaṃgrahānusāreṇa ṣaḍidvadhaṃ draṣṭavyam | tatpunaḥ katamat | padasthānasaṃgraho yathā jambūdvīpasaṃgṛhītā manuṣyāḥ, araṇyasaṃgṛhītā mṛgā iti loke ucyate tathehāpi cakṣurādibhiḥ cakṣurvijñānādīnāṃ saṃgraho veditavyaḥ | nibandhasaṃgraho yathā rajjvādinā kāṣṭhabhārādikasya tathā kāyena cakṣurādonāmindriyāṇām | tulyārthasaṃgraho yathā samānasarvaprayojanānāṃ vistrambhiṇāṃ manuṣyāṇāṃ parasparaṃ tarthakālaṃvanapravṛttānāṃ saṃprayuktānāmānyonyam | upādānasaṃgraho yathā svāminā ātmīyataḥ parigrahītādīnā dāsādīnāṃ tathālayavijñānenātmabhāvasya | avisārasaṃgraho yathā ghaṭenodakasya tathā samādhinā tadanyeṣāṃ cittacaitasikānām | abhisaṃkṣepa[saṃ]graho yathā samudreṇa nadīnāṃ tathā rūpaskandhena cakṣurādonāmiti | tadatrābhisakṣapasaṃgrahamadhikṛtyakādaśavidhaḥ saṃgraho veditavyaḥ ||
paramāṇudeśe sarveṣāṃ deśināmityekaparamāṇuparyāpannānāṃ rūpādīnāmavinirbhāgaḥ samānadeśatvena veditavyaḥ | paramāṇorūrdhva sarveṣāṃ deśināṃ miśrībhāvaḥ tadyathā kaluṣe pānīye appṛthivīparamāṇūnāṃ paramparam | deśināmeva samudāyināmanyonyaṃ samavadhānaṃ tadyathā bhittau mṛtpiṇḍena mṛtpiṇḍāntarasya | sahabhāva saṃ [pra]yoga ekātmabhāve kṣaṇikānāṃ skandhādīnām | kṛtyānuṣṭhānasaṃprayoga ekasmin prayojane prayuktānāmanyonyam | saṃpratipattisaṃprayogaḥ parabhāvena na svabhāvena tadyathā cittaṃ cittāntareṇa na saṃprayujyate, vedanā vedanāntareṇetyavamādi | na viruddhayostadyathā rāgadveṣayoḥ kuśalākuśalayorvetyevamādi | na visadṛśakālayostadyathā vartamānānāgatayoratītavartamānayorvā | na visabhāgadhātubhūmikayostadyathā kāmāvacararūpāvacarayoḥ prathamadvitīyadhyānabhūmika yorvetyevamādi | sarvatragaḥ saṃpratipattisaṃprayoga vedanādīnāṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ sarvāsvavasthāsveṣāṃ vinānyonya mabhāvāt | ucitastadekatyānāṃ ca śaikṣāśaikṣāṇāmityekāntalaukikānāṃ kuśalānāmakuśalāvyākṛtānāṃ ca yathāsaṃbhavam | ādyataduttarāṇāmityapūrvajātīyatvena prathamakṣaṇotpannānāṃ dvitīyādikṣaṇotpannānāṃ ca lokottarāṇāmanucitatvajñāpanārtham ||
samanvāgamo lakṣaṇataḥ pūrvavattadyathā kuśalādīnāṃ dharmāṇāmācayāpacaye prāptiḥ pratilambhaḥ samanvāgama iti prajñaptiḥ | bījasamanvāgama iti kāmadhātau jātau bhūtastraidhātukaiḥ kleśopakleśaiḥ samanvāgata ityavītarāgaṃ pṛthagjanamadhikṛtyaitadvaiditavyam | vītarāgastu tatrordhva vā jāto yato bhūmervītarāgastadbhūmikairasamanvāgataḥ samanvāgataśca, pratipakṣeṇopahatatvādasamuddhātitatvāccānuśayato yathākramam | upapattiprā tilambhikaṃśca kuśalariti yatra jātastadbhūmikaireva | traidhātukapratipakṣalābhīti lokottaramārgalābhī | yasya yasya prakārasya pratipakṣa utpanna iti bhāva nāprahātavyasyādhimātrādeḥ kleśasya | tasya tasya bījasamanvāgamenāsamanvāgato'nuśayataḥ samuddhātitatvāt | vaśitāsamanvāgamaḥ prāyogikānāṃ kuśalānāmiti śrutamayādīnāṃ satyapi bīje tadabhyāsakṛtāṃ tajjanmikīṃ bījapuṣṭimantareṇa saṃmukhīkartumaśakyatvāt | tadekatyānāṃ cāvyākṛtānāṃ śaṃlpasthānikanairmāṇikacittaprabhṛtīnām ||
mokṣahetuvaikalyādātyantika eṣāṃ hetvasamanvāgama iti | mokṣaprāptihetvasamanvāgama ityarthaḥ | kaḥ punarmokṣaprāptihetuḥ | yasyaivaṃ tathatāyāṃ kleśadauṣṭhulyaṃ saṃniviṣṭaṃ bhavati tatsati pratipakṣānukūlapratyayalābhe śakyate samuddhātayitum, sa bhavyatā rthena heturityucyate | viparyayāddhetuvaikalyaṃ veditavyam ||
