tena khalu punaḥ samayena śakro devānāmindrastasyāmeva parṣadi saṃnipatitaḥ saṃniṣaṇṇo'bhūt catvāriṃśatā trāyastriṃśatkāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham| catvāraśca lokapālā viṃśatyā cāturmahārājakāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham| brahmāpi sahāpatirdaśabhirbrahmakāyikairdevaputrasahasraiḥ sārdham| pañca ca śuddhāvāsānāṃ devaputrāṇāṃ sahasrāṇi tasyāmeva parṣadi saṃnipatitāni saṃniṣaṇṇānyabhūvan| yo'pi ca devānāṃ svakarmavipākajo'vabhāsaḥ, so'pi sarvo buddhānubhāvena buddhatejasā buddhādhiṣṭhānenābhibhūto'bhūt||
atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtiṃ sthavirametadavocat-imānyārya subhūte saṃbahulāni devaputrasahasrāṇi asyāṃ parṣadi saṃnipatitāni saṃniṣaṇṇāni āryasya subhūterantikātprajñāpāramitāṃ śrotukāmāni bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmupadeśamavavādānuśāsanīṃ ca| tatkathaṃ bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ sthātavyam, kathaṃ śikṣitavyam, kathaṃ yogamāpattavyam? sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tena hi kauśika upadekṣyāmi te buddhānubhāvena buddhatejasā buddhādhiṣṭhānena| yairdevaputrairanuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau cittaṃ notpāditam, tairutpādayitavyam| ye tvavakrāntāḥ samyaktvaniyāmam, na te bhavyā anuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau cittamutpādayitum| tatkasya hetoḥ? baddhasīmāno hi te saṃsārasrotasaḥ| abhavyā hi te punaḥ punaḥ saṃsaraṇāya anuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau cittamutpādayitum| api nu khalu punasteṣāmapyanumode| sacette'pyanuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau cittānyutpādayeran, nāhaṃ kuśalamūlasyāntarāyaṃ karomi| viśiṣṭebhyo hi dharmebhyo viśiṣṭatamā dharmā adhyālambitavyāḥ||
atha khalu bhagavānāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimāmantrayate sma-sādhu sādhu subhūte, sādhu khalu punastvaṃ subhūte, yastvaṃ bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāmutsāhaṃ dadāsi| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtirbhagavantametadavocat-kṛtajñairasmābhirbhagavan bhagavato bhavitavyaṃ nākṛtajñaiḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? paurvakāṇāṃ hi bhagavaṃstathāgatānāmarhatāṃ samyaksaṃbuddhānāmantike'smadarthe bhagavān yathā brahmacaryaṃ bodhāya caran pūrvaṃ bodhisattvabhūta eva san, yaiḥ śrāvakairavavadito'nuśiṣṭaśca pāramitāsu, tatra bhagavatā caratā anuttaraṃ jñānamutpāditam| evaṃ bhagavan asmābhirapi bodhisattvā mahāsattvā anuparigrahītavyā anuparivārayitavyāśca, saṃparigrahītavyāḥ saṃparivārayitavyāśca| tatkasya hetoḥ? asmābhirapi hi bhagavan bodhisattvā mahāsattvā anuparigṛhītā anuparivāritāśca, saṃparigṛhītāḥ saṃparivāritāśca kṣipramanuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyante||
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṃ devānāmindramāmantrayate sma-tena hi kauśika śṛṇu, sādhu ca suṣṭhu ca manasi kuru, bhāṣiṣye'haṃ te yathā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ sthātavyam| śūnyatāyāṃ kauśika tiṣṭhatā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena prajñāpāramitāyāṃ sthātavyam| tena hi kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena mahāsaṃnāhasaṃnaddhena bhavitavyam| na rūpe sthātavyam| na vedanāyāṃ na saṃjñāyāṃ na saṃskāreṣu| na vijñāne sthātavyam| na cakṣuṣi sthātavyam| na rūpe sthātavyam| na cakṣurvijñāne sthātavyam| na cakṣuḥsaṃsparśe sthātavyam| na cakṣuḥsaṃsparśajāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ sthātavyam| evaṃ na śrotraghrāṇajihvākāyamanaḥsu sthātavyam| na śabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyadharmeṣu, na śrotravijñāne, yāvanna manovijñāne| na manaḥsaṃsparśe, na manaḥsaṃsparśajāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ sthātavyam| na pṛthivīdhātau sthātavyam| nābdhātau, na tejodhātau, na vāyudhātau, nākāśadhātau, na vijñānadhātau sthātavyam| na smṛtyupasthāneṣu sthātavyam| na samyakprahāṇarddhipādendriyabalabodhyaṅgeṣu, na mārgāṅgeṣu sthātavyam| na srotaāpattiphale sthātavyam| na sakṛdāgāmiphale, na anāgāmiphale, nārhattve sthātavyam| na pratyekabuddhatve sthātavyam| na buddhatve sthātavyam| iti hi rūpamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi vedaneti, saṃjñeti, saṃskārā iti| iti hi vijñānamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi cakṣuriti, yāvanmanaḥsaṃsparśajā vedaneti na sthātavyam| iti hi pṛthivīdhāturiti, yāvadvijñānadhāturiti na sthātavyam| iti hi smṛtyupasthānānīti na sthātavyam| iti hi samyakprahāṇarddhipādendriyabalabodhyaṅgānīti, iti hi mārgāṅgānīti na sthātavyam| iti hi srotaāpattiphalamiti na sthātavyam, iti hi sakṛdāgāmiphalamiti, anāgāmiphalamiti, arhattvamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi pratyekabuddhatvamiti na sthātavyam| iti hi buddhatvamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṃ nityamanityamiti na sthātavyam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ nityamanityamiti na sthātavyam | rūpaṃ sukhaṃ duḥkhamiti na sthātavyam | evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ sukhaṃ duḥkhamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṃ śūnyamaśūnyamiti na sthātavyam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ śūnyamaśūnyamiti na sthātavyam| rūpamātmānātmeti na sthātavyam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānamātmānātmeti na sthātavyam| rūpaṃ śubhamaśubhamiti na sthātavyam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānaṃ śubhamaśubhamiti na sthātavyam| rūpaṃ śūnyamupalabhyate veti na sthātavyam| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ | vijñānaṃ śūnyamupalabhyate veti na sthātavyam| srotaāpattiphalamasaṃskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na sthātavyam| evaṃ sakṛdāgāmiphalamanāgāmiphalamarhattvamasaṃskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na sthātavyam| pratyekabuddhatvamasaṃskṛtaprabhāvitamiti na sthātavyam| srotaāpanno dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| srotaāpannāḥ saptakṛto bhavaparamā iti na sthātavyam| sakṛdāgāmī dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| sakṛdāgāmyapariniṣṭhitattvātsakṛdimaṃ lokamāgamya duḥkhasyāntaṃ kariṣyatīti na sthātavyam| anāgāmī dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam anāgāmī anāgamya imaṃ lokaṃ tatraiva parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| arhan dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| arhannihaiva anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| pratyekabuddho dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| pratyekabuddho'tikramya śrāvakabhūmimaprāpya buddhabhūmiṃ parinirvāsyatīti na sthātavyam| buddho dakṣiṇīya iti na sthātavyam| buddho'tikramya pṛthagjanabhūmimatikramya śrāvakabhūmimatikramya pratyekabuddhabhūmimaprabheyāṇāmasaṃkhyeyānāṃ sattvānāmarthaṃ kṛtvā aprameyāṇyasaṃkhyeyāni sattvakoṭīniyutaśatasahasrāṇi parinirvāpya aprameyānasaṃkhyeyān sattvān śrāvakapratyekabuddhasamyaksaṃbuddhatvaniyatān kṛtvā buddhabhūmau sthitvā buddhakṛtyaṃ kṛtvā anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau buddhaparinirvāṇena parinirvāsyati ityevamapyanena na sthātavyam||
atha khalvāyuṣmataḥ śāriputrasyaitadabhavat-yadi buddho'tikramya pṛthagjanabhūmimatikramya śrāvakabhūmimatikramya pratyekabuddhabhūmimaprameyāṇāmasaṃkhyeyānāṃ sattvānāmarthaṃ kṛtvā aprameyāṇyasaṃkhyeyāni sattvakoṭīniyutaśatasahasrāṇi parinirvāpya aprameyānasaṃkhyeyān sattvān śrāvakapratyekabuddhasamyaksaṃbuddhatvaniyatān kṛtvā buddhabhūmau sthitvā buddhakṛtyaṃ kṛtvā anupadhiśeṣe nirvāṇadhātau buddhaparinirvāṇena parinirvāsyati ityevamapyanena na sthātavyam, tatkathaṃ punaranena sthātavyaṃ, kathaṃ śikṣitavyamiti? atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena āyuṣmataḥ śāriputrasya cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya āyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-tatkiṃ manyase āyuṣman śāriputra kva tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddhaḥ sthitaḥ? āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-na kvacidāyuṣman subhūte tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddhaḥ sthitaḥ| tatkasya heto? apratiṣṭhitamānaso hi tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddhaḥ| sa naiva saṃskṛte dhātau sthito nāpyasaṃskṛte dhātau sthito na ca tato vyutthitaḥ||
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirāyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-evameva āyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sthātavyam, evaṃ śikṣitavyam-yathā tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddho na kvacitsthito nāsthito na viṣṭhito nāviṣṭhitaḥ, tathā sthāsyāmītyevamanena śikṣitavyam| yathā tathāgatasthānaṃ tathā sthāsyāmīti, tathā śikṣiṣye iti, yathā tathāgatasthānaṃ tathā sthāsyāmīti, tathā śikṣiṣye iti, yathā tathāgatasthānaṃ tathā sthāsyāmīti susthito'sthānayogeneti evamatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena sthātavyamevaṃ śikṣitavyam| evaṃ hi śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvo viharatyanena prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa avirahitaścānena manasikāreṇeti||
atha khalu tatra parṣadi keṣāṃciddevaputrāṇāmetadabhūt-yāni tāni yakṣāṇāṃ yakṣabhāṣitāni yakṣarutāni yakṣapadāni yakṣamantritāni yakṣapravyāhṛtāni, tāni vijñāyante jalpyamānāni| na punaridaṃ vijñāyate yatsubhūtiḥ sthaviro bhāṣate pravyāharati deśayatyupadiśati| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena teṣāṃ devaputrāṇāmimamevaṃrūpaṃ cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān devaputrānāmantrayate sma-na vijñāyate na vijñāyate idaṃ devaputrāḥ| tathā hi nātra kiṃcitsūcyate, nātra kiṃcit śrūyate||
atha khalu teṣāṃ devaputrāṇāṃ punarevaitadabhūt-uttānīkariṣyati bata ayamāryasubhūtiḥ| uttānīkariṣyati batāyamāryasubhūtiriti| dūrāddūrataramāryasubhūtiḥ praviśati, sūkṣmātsūkṣmataram| gambhīrādgambhīrataramāryasubhūtiḥ praviśati deśayati bhāṣata iti| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena punarapi teṣāmeva devaputrāṇāṃ cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān devaputrānāmantrayate sma-tena hi devaputrāḥ yaḥ srotaāpattiphalaṃ prāptukāmaḥ srotaāpattiphale sthātukāmaḥ, sa nemāṃ kṣāntimanāgamya....peyālam| yaḥ sakṛdāgābhiphalaṃ prāptukāmaḥ, sakṛdāgāmiphale sthātukāmaḥ, yo'nāgāmiphalaṃ prāptukāmo'nāgāmiphale sthātukāmaḥ, yo'rhattvaṃ prāptukāmo'rhattve sthātukāmaḥ, yaḥ pratyekabodhiṃ prāptukāmaḥ pratyekabodhau sthātukāmaḥ, sa nemāṃ kṣāntimanāgamya.....| yo'nuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhiṃ prāptukāmo'nuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau sthātukāmaḥ, sa nemāṃ kṣāntimanāgamya.............||
atha khalu punarapi teṣāṃ devaputrāṇāmetadabhavat-kiṃrūpā asya āryasubhūterdhārmaśravaṇikā eṣṭavyāḥ? atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtirbuddhānubhāvena teṣāṃ devaputrāṇāṃ cetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya tān devaputrānāmantrayate sma-māyānirmitasadṛśā hi devaputrā mama dhārmaśravaṇikā eṣṭavyāḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi te naiva śroṣyanti na ca sākṣātkariṣyanti||
atha khalu te devaputrā āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocan-kiṃ punarārya subhūte māyopamāste sattvā na te māyā? evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtistān devaputrānetadavocat-māyopamāste devaputrāḥ sattvāḥ| svapnopamāste devaputrāḥ sattvāḥ| iti hi māyā ca sattvāśca advayametadadvaidhīkāram, iti hi svapnaśca sattvāśca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| sarvadharmā api devaputrā māyopamāḥ svapnopamāḥ| srotaāpanno'pi māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ| srotaāpattiphalamapi māyopamaṃ svapnopamam| evaṃ sakṛdāgāmyapi sakṛdāgāmiphalamapi, anāgāmyapi anāgāmiphalamapi, arhannapi arhattvamapi māyopamaṃ svapnopamam| pratyekabuddho'pi māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ| pratyekabuddhatvamapi māyopamaṃ svapnopamam| samyaksaṃbuddho'pi māyopamaḥ svapnopamaḥ| samyaksaṃbuddhatvamapi māyopamaṃ svapnopamam| atha khalu devaputrā āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocan-samyaksaṃbuddho'pyārya subhūte māyopamaḥ svapnopama iti vadasi? samyaksaṃbuddhatvapi māyopamaṃ svapnopamamiti vadasi? subhūtirāha-nirvāṇamapi devaputrā māyopamaṃ svapnopamamiti vadāmi, kiṃ punaranyaṃ dharmam| te devaputrā āhuḥ-nirvāṇamapyārya subhūte māyopamaṃ svapnopamamiti vadasi? āyuṣmān subhūtirāha-tadyadi devaputrā nirvāṇādapyanyaḥ kaściddharmo viśiṣṭataraḥ syāt, tamapyahaṃ māyopamaṃ svapnopamamiti vadeyam| iti hi devaputrā māyā ca nirvāṇaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram| iti hi svapnaśca nirvāṇaṃ ca advayametadadvaidhīkāram||
atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputraḥ, āyuṣmāṃśca pūrṇo maitrāyaṇīputraḥ, āyuṣmāṃśca mahākoṣṭhilaḥ, āyuṣmāṃśca mahākātyāyanaḥ, āyuṣmāṃśca mahākāśapaḥ, anye ca mahāśrāvakā anekairbodhisattvasahasraiḥ sārdhamāyuṣmantaṃ subhūtiṃ sthaviramāmantrayante sma-ke'syā āyuṣman subhūte prajñāpāramitāyā evaṃ nirdiśyamānāyāḥ pratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti? atha khalvāyuṣmānānandastān sthavirānetadavocat-te khalvāyuṣmanto veditavyā avinivartanīyā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ, dṛṣṭisaṃpannā vā pudgalāḥ, arhanto vā kṣīṇāsravāḥ, ye'syāḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṃ nirdiśyamānāyāḥ pratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti||
atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ sthavirastān sthavirānetadavocat-nāsyā āyuṣmantaḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṃ nirdiśyamānāyāḥ kecitpratyeṣakā bhaviṣyanti| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi-atra na kaściddharmaḥ sūcyate, na kaściddharmaḥ paridīpyate, na kaściddharmaḥ prajñapyate| tadyathaivātra na kaściddharmaḥ sūcyate, na kaściddharmaḥ paridīpyate, na kaściddharmaḥ prajñapyate, tathaivāsyāḥ prajñāpāramitāyā evaṃ nirdiśyamānāyā na kaścitpratyeṣako bhaviṣyati||
atha khalu śakrasya devānāmindrasyaitadabhūt- asya dharmaparyāyasya āryeṇa subhūnitā bhāṣyamāṇasya pūjārthaṃ yannvahaṃ puṣpāṇyabhinirmāya āryaṃ subhūtimabhyavakireyamiti| atha khalu śakro devānāmindrastasyāṃ velāyāṃ puṣpāṇyabhinirmāya āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimabhyavākirat| atha khalvāyuṣmataḥ subhūteḥ sthavirasya śakraṃ devānāmindramanuvyāharaṇāyaitadabhūt-na khalu punarimāni puṣpāṇi mayā trāyastriṃśeṣu deveṣu pracaranti dṛṣṭapūrvāṇi, yānīmāni śakreṇa devānāmindreṇa abhyavakīrṇāni| nirmitānyetāni puṣpāṇi| naitāni puṣpāṇi vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātāni, yāni śakreṇa devānāmindreṇābhyavakīrṇāni, manomayānyetāni puṣpāṇīti| atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmataḥ subhūteścetasaiva cetaḥparivitarkamājñāya āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-anirjātānyetānyārya subhūte puṣpāṇi| tatkasya hetoḥ? na hi manonirjātāni kānicitpuṣpāṇi, nāpi vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātāni| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṃ devānāmindrametadavocat-yattvaṃ kauśika evaṃ vadasi-anirjātānyetāni puṣpāṇi, naitāni manonirjātāni, nāpi vṛkṣagulmalatānirjātānīti| yatkauśika anirjātaṃ na tatpuṣpam| atha khalu śakrasya devānāmindrasyaitadabhūt-gambhīraprajño batāyamāryaḥ subhūtiḥ| tāṃ ca nāma padaprajñaptiṃ nirdiśati, tāṃ ca na virodhayati, tāṃ cottānīkaroti, tāmeva copadiśati| atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmataṃ subhūtimetadavocat-evametadārya subhūte, evametat| evaṃ cātra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyaṃ yathā āryasubhūtirupadiśati| evamukte āyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṃ devānāmindrametadavocat-evametatkauśika, evametat| evamatra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena śikṣitavyam| evaṃ śikṣamāṇaḥ kauśika bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na srotaāpattiphale śikṣate, na sakṛdāgāmiphale, na anāgāmiphale, nāhartve śikṣate, na pratyekabuddhatve śikṣate, na buddhatve śikṣate| yo nāsu bhūmiṣu śikṣate, sa buddhatve sarvajñatve vā śikṣate| yo buddhatve sarvajñatve vā śikṣate, so'prameyeṣvasaṃkhyeyeṣu buddhadharmeṣu śikṣate| yo'prameyeṣvasaṃkhyeyeṣu buddhadharmeṣu śikṣate, sa na rūpasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate, na parihāṇāya| evaṃ sa na vedanāyā na saṃjñāyā na saṃskārāṇām| sa na vijñānasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate, na parihāṇāya| yo na rūpasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate na parihāṇāya| evaṃ na vedanāyā na saṃjñāyā na saṃskārāṇām| yo na vijñānasya vivṛddhaye śikṣate na parihāṇāya, sa na rūpasya parigrahāya śikṣate notsargāya| evaṃ sa na vedanāyā na saṃjñāyā na saṃskārāṇām| sa na vijñānasya parigrahāya śikṣate, notsargāya, nāpi kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| yo na kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate, sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṃ śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣate, sarvajñatāyāṃ niryāsyati||
atha khalvāyuṣmān śāriputra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-ya āyuṣman subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāsya śikṣate, sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṃ śikṣamāṇa āyuṣmān subhūte bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣate, sarvajñatāyāṃ niryāsyati||
āyuṣmān subhūtirāha-evametadāyuṣman śāriputra, evametat| ya āyuṣman śāriputra bodhisattvo mahāsattvo na kasyaciddharmasya parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate, sa na sarvajñatāyā api parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| sarvabuddhadharmāṇāmapi na parigrahāya śikṣate, notpādāya nāntardhānāya śikṣate| evaṃ cāyuṣman śāriputra śikṣamāṇo bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatāyāṃ śikṣate, sarvajñatāyāṃ niryāsyati||
atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-prajñāpāramitā ārya śāriputra bodhisattvena mahāsattvena kuto gaveṣitavyāḥ? śāriputra āha-prajñāpāramitā kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena āyuṣmataḥ subhūteḥ parivartādgaveṣitavyā| evamukte śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṃ śāriputrametadavocat-kasyaiṣa ārya śāriputra anubhāvo veditavyaḥ? kasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṃ veditavyaṃ yadāryasubhūtiḥ prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāṣate? āyuṣmān śāriputra āha-tathāgatasyaiṣa kauśika anubhāvo veditavyaḥ| tathāgatasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṃ veditavyaṃ yadāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāṣate| atha khalvāyuṣmān subhūtiḥ śakraṃ devānāmindrametadavocat-yatkauśika evaṃ vadasi-kasyaiṣo'nubhāvo veditavyaḥ, kasyaitadanuṣṭhānaṃ veditavyaṃ yadāryasubhūtiḥ prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāṣate iti ? tathāgatasyaiṣa kauśika anubhāvo veditavyaḥ| tathāgatasyaitadadhiṣṭhānaṃ veditavyaṃ yadahaṃ prajñāpāramitāṃ bhāṣe| yadapi kauśika evaṃ vadasi-prajñāpāramitā bodhisattvena mahāsattvena kuto gaveṣitavyeti? prajñāpāramitā kauśika bodhisattvena mahāsattvena na rūpādgaveṣitavyā nāpyanyatra rūpādgaveṣitavyā| evaṃ na vedanāyā na saṃjñāyā na saṃskārebhyaḥ na vijñānādgaveṣitavyāḥ, nāpyanyatra vijñānādgaveṣitavyā| tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi na rūpaṃ prajñāpāramitā, nāpyanyatra rūpātprajñāpāramitā| evaṃ na vedanā na saṃjñā na saṃskārāḥ| na vijñānaṃ prajñāpāramitā, nāpyanyatra vijñānātprajñāpāramitā||
evamukte śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-mahāpāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā| apramāṇapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā| aparimāṇapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā| anantapāramiteyamārya subhūte yaduta prajñāpāramitā| sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-evametatkauśika, evametat| mahāpāramiteyaṃ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| apramāṇapāramiteyaṃ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| aparimāṇapāramiteyaṃ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| anantapāramiteyaṃ kauśika yaduta prajñāpāramitā| tatkasya hetoḥ? rūpamahattayā hi kauśika mahāpāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānamahattayā hi kauśikamahāpāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| rūpāpramāṇatayā kauśika apramāṇapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānāpramāṇatayā kauśika apramāṇapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñapāramitā| rūpāparimāṇatayā kauśika aparimāṇapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānāparimāṇatayā kauśika aparimāṇapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñapāramitā| rūpānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskārāḥ| vijñānānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ mahāpāramiteti kauśika nābhiniviśate| evamapramāṇapāramiteti, evamaparimāṇapāramiteti, evamanantapāramiteti nābhiniviśate| tasmātkauśika mahāpāramiteyam, apramāṇapāramiteyam, aparimāṇapāramiteyam, anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
ārambaṇānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| sattvānantatayā kauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| kathaṃ punaḥ kauśika ārambaṇānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā? sarvadharmāṇāṃ hi kauśika yato nānto na madhyaṃ na paryavasānamupalabhyate, tataḥ kauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| anena kauśika paryāyeṇa ārambaṇānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| punaraparaṃ kauśika yasmātsarvadharmā anantā aparyantāḥ, na teṣāmanto vā madhyaṃ vā paryavasānaṃ vā upalabhyate, tasmātkauśika anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| tatkasya hetoḥ? rūpasya hi kauśika nānto na madhyaṃ na paryavasānamupalabhyate| evaṃ vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇām| vijñānasya hi kauśika nānto na madhyaṃ na paryavasānamupalabhyate| anenāpi kauśika paryāyeṇa ārambaṇānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
punaraparaṃ kauśika sattvo'nanto'paryantaḥ| tatkasya hetoḥ? na hi sattvasyānto vā madhyaṃ vā paryavasānaṃ vopalabhyate| tasmātkauśika sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| atha khalu śakro devānāmindra āyuṣmantaṃ subhūtimetadavocat-kathamāyuṣman subhūte sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā? sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-na hi kauśika gaṇanāyogena vā gaṇanābahutvena vā sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā||
śakra āha-kathaṃ tarhīdānīmārya subhūte sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā? sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tatkaṃ manyase kauśika katamasyaitaddharmasyādhivacanaṃ yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti? śakra āha-naitadārya subhūte dharmasyādhivacanaṃ na adharmādhivacanaṃ yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti| āgantukametannāmadheyaṃ prakṣiptam| avastukametannāmadheyaṃ prakṣiptam| anātmīyametannāmadheyaṃ prakṣiptam| anārambaṇametannāmadheyaṃ prakṣiptaṃ yaduta sattvaḥ sattva iti| sthaviraḥ subhūtirāha-tatkiṃ manyase kauśika kācidatra sattvaparidīpanā kṛtā ? śakra āha-no hīdamārya subhūte| subhūtirāha-yatra kauśika na kācitsattvaparidīpanā kṛtā, tatra kā sattvānantatā? sacetkauśika tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddho'nantavijñaptighoṣeṇa gambhīranirghoṣeṇa svareṇa gaṅgānadīvālukopamān kalpānapi vitiṣṭhamānaḥ sattvaḥ sattva iti vācaṃ bhāṣeta, api nu tatra kaścitsattva utpanno va utpatsyate vā utpadyate vā, niruddho vā nirotsyate vā nirudhyate vā? śakra āha-no hīdamārya subhūte| tatkasya hetoḥ? ādiśuddhatvādādipariśuddhatvātsattvasya| subhūtirāha-anenāpi kauśika paryāyeṇa evaṃ sattvānantatayā anantapāramiteyaṃ yaduta prajñāpāramitā| evaṃ ca punaḥ kauśika sattvānantatayā prajñāpāramitānantatā veditavyā||
atha khalu sendrakā devāḥ sabrahmakāḥ saprajāpatikāḥ sarṣinaranārīgaṇāstrirudānamudānayanti sma-aho dharmaḥ, aho dharmaḥ, aho dharmasya dharmatā| yastathāgatasya prādurbhāvaḥ, sa āryeṇa subhūtinā sthavireṇa subhāṣiteneha sūcyate deśyate prakāśyate prabhāvyate| tathāgataṃ taṃ vayaṃ bhagavan bodhisattvaṃ mahāsattvamadyāgreṇa dhārayiṣyāmo yo'nayā prajñāpāramitayā avirahito bhaviṣyati, yo'pi ca anena bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ prajñāpāramitāvihāreṇa vihariṣyati||
atha khalu bhagavāṃstān sendrakān sabrahmakān saprajāpatikān sarṣinaranārīgaṇānāmantrayate sma-evametaddevaputrāḥ, evametat| yadāhaṃ devaputrā dīpaṃkarasya tathāgatasyārhataḥ samyaksaṃbuddhasyāntike dīpavatyāṃ rājadhānyāmantarāyaṇamadhyagato'nayā prajñāpāramitayā avirahito'bhūvam, tadāhaṃ dīpaṃkareṇa tathāgatenārhatāṃ samyaksaṃbuddhena vyākṛto'nuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau-bhaviṣyasi tvaṃ māṇava anāgate'dhvani asaṃkhyeyaiḥ kalpaiḥ śākyamunirnāma tathāgato'rhan samyaksaṃbuddho vidyācaraṇasaṃpannaḥ sugato lokavidanuttaraḥ puruṣadamyasārathiḥ śāstā devānāṃ ca manuṣyānāṃ ca buddho bhagavāniti| atha khalu te devaputrā bhagavantametadavocan-āścaryaṃ bhagavan, paramāścaryaṃ sugata| yāvadiyaṃ prajñāpāramitā bodhisattvānāṃ mahāsattvānāṃ sarvajñatāyā āhārikā anuparigrāhikā ceti||
āryāṣṭasāhasrikāyāṃ prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śakraparivarto nāma dvitīyaḥ||
