evaṃ karmaṇyacittaḥ smṛtyupasthānānyavataret | tatra aśubhaprastāvena kāyasmṛtyupasthānamuktam | tadeva ca bhedaleśena dharmasaṃgītisūtre'bhihitam-



punaraparaṃ kulaputra bodhisattva evaṃ kāye smṛtimupasthāpayati- ayaṃ kāyaḥ pādapādāṅgulijaṅghorutrikodaranābhipṛṣṭhavaṃśahṛdayapārśvapārśvakāhastakalācībāhvaṃsagrīvāhanulalāṭaśiraḥkapāla-mātrasamūhaḥ karmabhavakārakopacito nānākleśasaṃkalpavikalpaśatasahastrāṇāmāvāsabhūtaḥ | bahūni cātra dravyāṇi samavahitāni | yaduta keśaromanakhadantāsthicarmapiśitavapāsnāyumedovasālasīkāyakṛnmūtrapurīṣāmāśayarudhirakheṭapittapūya-siṅghāṇakamastakaluṅgāni | evaṃ bahudravyasamūhaḥ | tatko'tra kāyaḥ? tasya pratyavekṣamāṇasyaivaṃ bhavati- ākāśasamo'yaṃ kāyaḥ | sa ākāśavat kāye smṛtimupasthāpayati, sarvametadākāśamiti paśyati | tasya kāyaparijñānahetorna bhūyaḥ kkacitsmṛtiḥ prasarati, na visarati, na pratisaratīti ||



punaruktam- ayaṃ kāyo na pūrvāntādāgato na parānte saṃkrānto na pūrvāntāparāntāvasthito'nyatrāsadviparyāsasaṃbhūtaḥ kārakavedakarahito nādyantamadhye pratiṣṭhitamūlaḥ, asvāmikaḥ, amamaḥ aparigrahaḥ | āgantukairvyavahriyate kāya iti, deha iti, bhoga iti, āśraya iti, śarīramiti, kuṇapa iti, āyatanamiti | asārako'yaṃ kāyo mātāpitṛśoṇitaśukrasaṃbhūto'śucipūtidurgandhasvabhāvo rāgadveṣamohabhayaviṣādataskarākulo nityaṃ śatanapatanabhedanavikiraṇavidhvaṃsanadharmā nānāvyādhiśatasahastranīta iti ||



āryaratnacūḍe'pyāha- anityo batāyaṃ kāyo'cirasthitiko maraṇaparyavasāna iti jñātvā na kāyahetorviṣamayā jīvati | sāraṃ caivādatte | sa trīṇi sārāṇyādatte | katamāni trīṇi? kāyasāraṃ bhogasāraṃ jīvitasāraṃ ca | so'nityaḥ kāya iti sarvasattvānāṃ dāsatvaśiṣyatvamabhyupagamya kiṃkaraṇīyatāyai utsuko bhavati | anityaḥ kāya iti sarvakāyadoṣavaṅkaśāṭhayakuhanāṃ na karoti | anityaḥ kāya iti jīvitenāśvāsaprāpto jīvitahetorapi pāpaṃ karma na karoti | anityaḥ kāya iti bhogeṣu tṛṣṇādhyavasānaṃ na karoti | sarvasvaparityāgīva bhavatīti | punaraparaṃ kulaputra bodhisattvaḥ kāye kāyānudarśanasmṛtyupasthānaṃ bhāvayan sarvasattvakāyāṃstatra svakāya upanibadhnāti | evaṃ cāsya bhavati- sarvasattvakāyā mayā buddhakāyapratiṣṭhānapratiṣṭhitāḥ kartavyāḥ | yathā ca tathāgatakāye nāstravaḥ, sa tathā svakāyadharmatāṃ pratyavekṣate | so'nāstravadharmatākuśalaḥ sarvasattvakāyānapi tallakṣaṇāneva prajānātītyādi ||



vīradattaparipṛcchāyāmapyuktam- yaduta ayaṃ kāyo anupūrvasamudāgato'nupūrvavināśo paramāṇusaṃcayaḥ śuṣira unnāmāvanāmī navavraṇamukharomakūpastrāvī valmīkavadāśīviṣanivāsaḥ | ajātaśatruḥ | markaṭavanmitradrohī | kumitravadvisaṃvādanātmakaḥ | phenapiṇḍavatprakṛtidurbalaḥ | udakabudbudavadutpannabhagnavilīnaḥ | marīcivadvipralambhātmakaḥ | kadalīvannibhujyamānāsārakaḥ | māyāvadvañcanātmakaḥ | rājavadājñābahulaḥ | śatruvadavatāraprekṣī | coravadaviśvasanīyaḥ | vadhyaghātakavadananuvītaḥ | amitravadahitaiṣī | vadhakavat prajñājīvitāntarāyakaraḥ | śūnyagrāmavadātmavirahitaḥ | kulālabhāṇḍavadbhedanaparyantaḥ | mūtoḍīvannānāśuciparipūrṇaḥ | medakasthālīvadaśucistrāvī || peyālaṃ || vraṇavaddhaṭṭanāsahiṣṇuḥ | śalyavattudanātmakaḥ | jīrṇagṛhavatpratisaṃskāradhāryaḥ | jīrṇayānapātravatpratisaṃskāravāhyaḥ | āmakumbhavadyatnānupālyaḥ peyālaṃ | nadītaṭavṛkṣaccalācalaḥ | mahānadīstrotovanmaraṇasamudraparyavasānaḥ | āgantukāgāravatsarvaduḥkhanivāsaḥ | anāthaśālāvadaparigṛhītaḥ | cārakapālavadutkocasādhyaḥ || peyālaṃ bāladārakavatsatataparipālyaḥ ||



punarāha-



evaṃvidhaṃ kāyamacaukṣarāśiṃ rūpābhimānī bahu manyate yaḥ |

prajñāyamānaḥ sa hi bālabuddhiḥ viṣṭhāghaṭaṃ yāti vahan vicetāḥ ||

pūyaprakāraṃ vahate'sya nāsā vaktraṃ kugandhaṃ vahate sadā ca |

cikkāstathākṣṇoḥ krimivacca jantoḥ kastatra rāgo bahumānatā vā ||

aṅgāramādāya yathā hi bālo ghṛṣyedayaṃ yāsyati śuklabhāvam |

yāti kṣayaṃ naiva tu śuklabhāvaṃ bālasya buddhirvitathābhimānā ||

evaṃ hi yaścaukṣamatirmanuṣyaḥ caukṣaṃ kariṣye'hamidaṃ śarīram |

sūdvartitaṃ tīrthaśatābhiṣiktaṃ yāti kṣayaṃ mṛtyuvaśādacaukṣam ||



tathā- prabhaṅguraḥ prastravan bodhisattvena kāyaḥ pratyavekṣitavyo navavraṇamukhairyāvat | āvāso bodhisattvena kāyaḥ pratyavekṣitavyaḥ aśītikrimikulasahastrāṇām || peyālaṃ || parabhojano bodhisattvena kāyaḥ pratyavekṣitavyaḥ, vṛkaśṛgālaśvapiśitāśinām | yantropamo bodhisattvena kāyaḥ pratyavekṣitavyaḥ, asthisnāyuyantrasaṃghātavinibaddhaḥ | asvādhīno bodhisattvena kāyaḥ pratyavekṣitavyaḥ annapānasaṃbhūtaḥ || iti vistaraḥ ||



tatraiva jñeyam- vedanāsmṛtyupasthānaṃ tu yathā tāvadāryaratnacūḍasūtre- iha kulaputra bohisattvo vedanāsu vedanānupaśyanāsmṛtyupasthānaṃ bhāvayan veditasukhāśriteṣu sattveṣu mahākaruṇāṃ pratilabhate | evaṃ ca pratisaṃśikṣate- tatsukhaṃ yatra veditaṃ nāsti | sa sarvasattvaveditaprahāṇāya vedanāsu vedanāsmṛtyupasthānaṃ bhāvayati | veditanirodhāya ca sattvānāṃ saṃnāhaṃ saṃnahyati | ātmanā ca veditanirodhaṃ nārpayati | sa yāṃ kāṃcidvedanāṃ vedayate, tāṃ sarvāṃ mahākaruṇāparigṛhītāṃ vedayate | sa yadā sukhāṃ vedanāṃ vedayate, tadā rāgacariteṣu sattveṣu mahākaruṇāṃ pratilabhate, ātmanaśca rāgānuśayaṃ pratijahāti | yadā duḥkhāṃ vedanāṃ vedayate, tadā dveṣacariteṣu sattvesu mahākaruṇāṃ pratilabhate, ātmanaśca doṣānuśayaṃ prajahāti | yadā aduḥkhāsukhāṃ vedanāṃ mohacariteṣu satyeṣu mahākaruṇāṃ pratilabhate, ātmanaśca mohānuśayaṃ prajahāti | sa sukhāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ nānunīyate, anunayasamudbhātaṃ cārjayati | duḥkhāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ na pratihanyate, pratighasamuddhātaṃ cārjayati | aduḥkhāsukhāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ nāvidyāgato bhavati, avidyāsamuddhātaṃ cārjayati | sa yāṃ kāṃcidvedanāṃ vetti, sarvāṃ tāmanityaveditāṃ vetti, sarvāṃ tāṃ duḥkhaveditāṃ vetti, anātmaveditāṃ vetti | sa sukhāyāṃ vedanāyāmanityavedito bhavati | duḥkhāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ śalyavedito bhavati | aduḥkhāsukhāyāṃ vedanāyāṃ śāntivedito bhavati | iti hi yatsukhaṃ tadanityam, yadduḥkhaṃ sukhameva tat | yadaduḥkhāsukhaṃ tadanātmakamityādi ||



āryākṣayamatisūtre'pyuktam- duḥkhayā vedanayā spṛṣṭaḥ sarvapāpākṣaṇopapanneṣu sattveṣu mahākaruṇāmutpādayati |peyālaṃ || api tu khalu punarabhiniveśo vedanā, parigraho vedanā, upādānaṃ vedanā, upalambho vedanā, viparyāso vedanā, vikalpo vedanetyādi ||



dharmasaṃgītisūtre'pyuktam-



vedanānubhavaḥ proktaḥ kenāsāvanubhūyate |

vedako vedanādanyaḥ pṛthagbhūto na vidyate ||

evaṃ smṛtirūpastheyā vedanāyāṃ vicakṣaṇaiḥ |

yathā bodhistathā hyeṣā śāntā śuddhā prabhāsvarā ||

etatsamāsato vedanāsmṛtyupasthānam ||



citasmṛtyupasthānaṃ tu yathā āryaratnakūṭe- sa evaṃ cittaṃ parigaveṣate- katarattu cittam? rajyati vā duṣyati vā muhyati vā? kimatītamanāgataṃ pratyutpanaṃ veti? tatra yadatītaṃ tatkṣīṇaṃ yadanāgataṃ tadasaṃprāptam | pratyutpannasya sthitirnāsti | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa nādhyātmaṃ na bahirdhā nobhayamanteraṇopalabhyate | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa arūpamanidarśanamapratighamavijñaptikamapratiṣṭhamaniketam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa sarvabuddhairna dṛṣṭam , na paśyanti na drakṣyanti | yatsarvabuddhairna dṛṣṭam, na paśyanti na drakṣyanti , kīdṛśastasya pracāro draṣṭavyaḥ? anyatra vitathapatitayā saṃjñayā dharmāḥ pravartante | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa māyāsadṛśamabhutaparikalpanayā vividhāmupapattiṃ parigṛhṇāti | peyālaṃ | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa nadīstrotaḥ sadṛśamanavasthitamutpannabhagnavilīnam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa dīpārciḥsadṛśaṃ hetupratyayatayā pravartate | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa vidyutsadṛśaṃ kṣaṇabhaṅgānavasthitam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa ākāśasadṛśamāgantukaiḥ kleśairupakliśyate | pe | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa pāpamitrasadṛśaṃ sarvaduḥkhasaṃjananatayā || pe | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa matsyabaḍiśasadṛśaṃ duḥkhe sukhasaṃjñayā | tathā nīlamakṣikāsadṛśamaśucau śucisaṃjñayā | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa pratyarthikasadṛśaṃ vividhakāraṇākaraṇatayā || cittaṃ hi ojohārayakṣasadṛśaṃ sadā vivaragaveṣaṇatayā || evaṃ corasadṛśaṃ sarvakuśalamūlamuṣaṇatayā | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa rūpārāmaṃ pataṅganetrasadṛśam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa śabdārāmaṃ saṃgrāmabherīsadṛśam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa gandhārāmaṃ varāha ivāśucimadhye | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa rasārāmaṃ rasāvaśeṣabhoktaceṭīsadṛśam | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa sparśārāmaṃ makṣikeva tailapātre | cittaṃ hi kāśyapa parigaveṣyamāṇaṃ na labhyate | yanna labhyate | tannopalabhyate | yannopalabhyate tannaivātītaṃ na anāgataṃ na pratyutpannam | yannaivātītaṃ na anāgataṃ na pratyutpannam, tat tryadhvasamatikrāntam | yat tryadhvasamatikrāntam, tatraivāsti na nāstītyādi ||



āryaratnacūḍasūtre'pyāha- sa cittaṃ parigaveṣamāṇo nādhyātmaṃ cittaṃ samanupaśyati, na bahirdhā cittaṃ samanupaśyati, na skandheṣu cittaṃ samanupaśyati, na dhātuṣu cittaṃ samanupaśyati, nāyataneṣu cittaṃ samanupaśyati | sa cittamasamanupaśyaṃścittadhārāṃ paryeṣate- kutaḥ cittasyotpattiriti | tasyaivaṃ bhavati- ālambane sati cittamutpadyate | tatkimanyadālambanam? atha yadevālambanaṃ tadeva cittam | yadi tāvadanyadālambanamanyaccitam, tadvicittatā bhaviṣyati | atha yadevālambanaṃ tadeva cittam, tatkathaṃ cittaṃ cittaṃ samanupaśyati? na hi cittaṃ cittaṃ samanupaśyati | tadyathā- na tayaivāsidhārayā saivāsidhārā śakyate chettum, na tenaivāṅgulyagreṇa tadevāṅgulyagraṃ spaṣṭuṃ śakyate, naiva cittena tadeva cittaṃ śakyate draṣṭum || peyālaṃ || punaraparaṃ kulaputra yadupadrutapradutānavasthitapracārasya vānaramārutasadṛśasya | peyālaṃ | dūraṃgamacāriṇo'śarīrasya laghuparivartino viṣayalolasya ṣaḍāyatanagocarasya aparāparasaṃprayuktasya cittasyāvasthānāmekāgratā aśaraṇamaviśaraṇaṃ śamathaikāgratā avikṣepaḥ, iyamucyate cittasya smṛtiriti ||



āryākṣayamatisūtre'pyuktam- viṭhapanāyāṃ mayā yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ | iyaṃ ca cittadharmatā na vihātavyā | tatra katamā cittadharmatā? katamā viṭhapanā? māyopamaṃ cittam, iyamucyate cittadharmatā | yatpunaḥ sarvasvaṃ parityajya sarvabuddhakṣetrapariśuddhaye pariṇāmayati, iyamucyate viṭhapanetyādi ||



dharmasmṛtyupasthānaṃ tu yathā tāvadatrāha-



dharme dharmānudarśīṃ viharan bodhisattvo na kaṃciddharmaṃ samanupaśyati || yato na buddhadharmā yato na bodhiḥ | yato na mārgo yato na niḥsaraṇaṃ sa sarvadharmāniḥsaraṇamiti viditvā anāvaraṇaṃ nāma mahākaruṇāsamādhiṃ samāpadyate | sa sarvadharmeṣu sarvakleśeṣu ca kṛtrimasaṃjñāṃ pratilabhate | niḥkleśā ete dharmāḥ, naite saṃkleśāḥ | tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hyete nītārthe samavasaranti | nāsti kleśānāṃ saṃcayo na rāśībhāvaḥ | na rāgabhāvo na dveṣabhāvo na mohabhāvaḥ | eṣāmeva kleśānāmavabodhādbodhiḥ | yatsvabhāvāśca kleśāstatsvabhāvā bodhirityevaṃ smṛtimupasthāpayatīti ||



āryaratnacūḍe'pyuktam- iha kulaputra bodhisattvasya dharme dharmānupaśyanāsmṛtyupasthānena viharata evaṃ bhavati- dharmā evotpadyamānā utpadyante | dharmā eva nirudhyamānā nirudhyante | na punaratra kaścidātmabhāve sattvo vā jīvo vā janturvā poṣo vā puruṣo vā pudgalo vā manujo vā, yo jāyate vā jīryate vā cyavate votpadyate vā | eṣā dharmāṇāṃ dharmatā | yadi samudānīyante, samudāgacchanti | atha na samudānīyante, na samudāgacchanti | yādṛśāḥ samudānīyante, tādṛśāḥ samudāgacchanti kuśalā vā akuśalā vā āniñjyā vā | nāsti dharmāṇāṃ samudānetā | na cahetukānāṃ dharmāṇāṃ kācidutpattirityādi ||



tatraivāha- sa kiyadgambhīrānapi dharmān pratyavekṣamāṇastāṃ sarvajñatābodhicittānusmṛtiṃ na vijahāti ||

āryalalitavistarasūtre'pyuktam-



saṃskāra anitya adhruvā āmakumbhopama bhedanātmakāḥ |

parakerika yācitopamāḥ pāṃśunagaropamatā ca kālikā ||

saṃskāra pralopadharmime varṣakāli calitaṃ va lepanam |

nadikūla ivā savālukaṃ pratyayādhīna svabhāvadurbalāḥ ||

saṃskāra pradīpaarcivat kṣiprautpattinirodhadharmakāḥ |

anavasthita marutopamāḥ phenapiṇḍavadasāradurbalāḥ ||

saṃskāra nirīha śūnyakāḥ kadalīskandhasamā nirīkṣataḥ |

māyopama cittamohanā bālollāpana riktamuṣṭivat ||

hetubhi ca pratyayebhi cā sarvasaṃskāragataṃ pravartate |

anyonya pratītya hetutaḥ tadidaṃ bālajano na budhyate |

yatha muñja pratītya valbajaṃ rajju vyāyāmabalena vartitā |

ghaṭiyantra sacakra vartate teṣvekaikaśu nāsti vartanā ||

tatha sarvabhavāṅgavartanī anyonyopacayena niḥśritā |

ekaikaśu teṣa vartanī pūrvāparāntato nopalabhyate ||

bījasya sato yathāṅkuro na ca yo bīja sa caiva aṅkuro |

na ca anya tato na caiva tat evamanuccheda aśāsvata dharmatā ||

saṃskāra avidyapratyayāḥ te ca saṃskāra na santi tattvataḥ |

saṃskāra avidya caiva hi śūnya ete prakṛtīnirīhakāḥ ||

mudrātpratimudra dṛśyate mudrasaṃkrānti na copalabhyate |

na ca tatra na caiva sānyato evaṃ saṃskāranucchedaśāśvatāḥ ||

cakṣuśca pratītya rūpataḥ cakṣuvijñānamihopajāyate |

na ca cakṣuṣi rūpa niśritaṃ rūpasaṃkrānti na caiva cakṣuṣi ||

nairātmyaśubhāśca dharmime te punarātmeti śubhāśca kalpitāḥ ||

viparītamasadvikalpitaṃ cakṣuvijñāna tatopajāyate ||

vijñānanirodhasaṃbhavaṃ vijña utpādavyayaṃ vipaśyati |

akahiṃci gatamanāgataṃ śūnya māyopama yogi paśyati ||

araṇiṃ yatha cottarāraṇiṃ hastavyāyāmatrayebhi saṃgati |

iti pratyayato'gni jāyate jātu kṛtakārya laghunirudhyate ||

atha piṇḍatu kaści mārgate kutayamāgatu kutra yāti vā |

vidiśo diśi sarva mārgato na gatirnāpyagatiśca labhyate ||

skandhāyatanāni dhātavaḥ tṛṣṇa avidyā iti karmapratyayāḥ |

sāmagri tu sattvasūcanā sā ca paramārthatu nopalabhyate ||

kaṇṭhoṣṭha pratītya tālukaṃ jihvaparivartiravarti akṣarā |

na ca kaṇṭhagatā na tāluke akṣaraikaika tu nopalabhyate ||

sāmagri pratītyataśca sā vāca manabuddhivaśena niścarī |

manavāca adṛśyarūpiṇī bāhyato'bhyantari nopalabhyate ||

utpādavyayaṃ vipaśyato vācarutaghoṣasvarasya paṇḍitāḥ |

kṣaṇikāṃ vaśikāṃ tadīdṛśīṃ sarvavācaḥ pratiśrutakopamāḥ ||

yatha tantri pratītya dāru ca hastavyāyāmatrayebhi saṃgati |

tuṇavīṇasughoṣakādibhiḥ śabdo niścarate tadudbhavaḥ ||

atha paṇḍitu kaści mārgate kuto'yamāgatu kutra yāti vā |

vidiśo diśa sarva mārgataḥ śabdagamanāgamanaṃ na labhyate ||

tatha hetubhi pratyayebhi ca sarvasaṃskāragataṃ pravartate |

yogī puna bhūtadarśanāt śūnya saṃskāra nirīha paśyati ||

skandhāyatanāni dhātavaḥ śūnya adhyātmika śūnya bāhyakāḥ |

sattvātmaviviktanālayāḥ dharmākāśasvabhāvalakṣaṇāḥ ||



lokanāthavyākaraṇe'pyuktam-



śūnyā anāmakā dharmāḥ nāma kiṃ paripṛcchasi |

śūnyatā na kkaciddevā na nāgā nāpi rākṣasāḥ ||

manuṣyā vāmanuṣyā vā sarve tu eṣa vidyate |

nāmnā hi nāmatā śūnyā nāmni nāma na vidyate ||

anāmakāḥ sarve dharmāḥ nāmnā tu paridīpitāḥ ||

yo hi svabhāvo nāmno vai na sa dṛṣṭo na ca śrutaḥ |

na cotpanno niruddho vā kasya nāmeha pṛcchasi ||

vyavahārakṛtaṃ nāma prajñaptirnamadarśitā |

ratnacitro hyayaṃ nāmnā [nāmnā] ratnottamaḥ paraḥ || iti ||
