kṣameta
akṣamasya hi śrutādau vīryaṃ pratihanyate'khedasahatvāt | aśrutavāṃśca na samādhyupāyaṃ jānāti, nāpi kleśaśodhanopāyam | tasmādakhinnaḥ-
śrutamepeta
jñānato'pi saṃkīrṇacāriṇaḥ samādhānaṃ duṣkaramiti |
saṃśrayeta vanaṃ tataḥ |
tatrāpi vikṣepapraśamanānabhiyuktasya cittaṃ na samādhīyata iti-
samādhānāya yujyeta
samāhitasya ca na kiṃcitphalamanyatra kleśaśodhanāditi-
bhāvayedaśubhādikam ||20||
ityetāni tāvatkleśaśuddheruddeśapadāni ||
idānīṃ nirdeśa ucyate- tatra kṣāntistrividhā dharmasaṃgītisūtre'mihitā-duḥkhādhivāsanakṣāntiḥ, dharmanidhyānakṣāntiḥ parāpakāramarṣaṇakṣāntiśceti | tatra duḥkhādhivāsanakṣāntivipakṣo'niṣṭāgamaprāptaduḥkhamīrutā, iṣṭavighātaprāptaśca sukhābhiṣvaṅgaḥ | tābhyāṃ daurmanasyam, tato dveṣo līnatā ca ||
ata evāha candrapradīpasūtre-sukhe'nabhiṣvaṅgaḥ | duḥkhe'vaimukhyamiti ||
ratnameghasūtre'pyuktam-ya ime ādhyātmikāḥ śokaparidevaduḥkhadaurmanasyopāyāsāḥ, tān kṣamate'dhivāsayatīti ||
āryogradattaparipṛcchāyāmapyuktam-punaraparaṃ gṛhapate gṛhiṇā bodhisattvenānunayapratidhāpagatena bhavitavyamaṣṭalokadharmānanuliptena | tena bhogalāmena vā bhāryāputralābhena vā dhanadhānyavittalābhena vā nonnamitavyaṃ na praharṣitavyam | sarvavipattiṣu cānena nāvanamitavyam | na durmanasā bhavitavyam | evaṃ cānena pratyavekṣitavyam - māyākṛtaṃ sarvasaṃskṛtaṃ viṭhapanapratyupasthānalakṣaṇam | karmavipākanirvṛttā hyete yadidaṃ mātāpitṛputrabhāryādāsīdāsakarmakarapauruṣeyamitrāmātyajñātisālohitāḥ | naite mama svakāḥ, nāhameteṣāmiti ||
api ca-
yadyastyeva pratīkāro daurmanasyena tatra kim |
pratīkāre'pi muhyeta durmanāḥ krodhamūrcchitaḥ ||
līnatvādvā hatotsāho gṛhyate parayāpadā |
taccintayā mudhā yāti hrasvamāyurmuhurmuhuḥ ||
tenabhyāsāttyajedetaṃ nirarthakamanarthavat ||
kathaṃ ca daurmanasyatyāgo'bhyasyate? laghusukumāracittotsargāt | yathoktamugradattaparipṛcchāyām- apagatatūlapicūpamatā cittasyeti ||
āryagaṇḍavyūhe'pyuktam-duryodhanaṃ cittaṃ te dārike utpādayitavyaṃ sarvakleśanirghātāya |
aparājitacittaṃ sarvābhiniveśavinirbhedāya | akṣobhyacittaṃ viṣamāśayatvasāgarāvartaprayāteṣviti ||
na ca abhyāsasya duṣkaraṃ nāma kiṃcidasti | tathā hi mūḍhatarāṇāmapi tāvadbhārahārakakaivartakarṣakādīnāṃ duḥkhābhyāsātkṣudrataraphale'pi vastuni saṃrūḍhakiṇāṅkitaṃ cittamavasādena na paribhūyate | kiṃ punaḥ sarvasaṃsārasukhasarvabodhisattvasukhānuttarapadasamadhigamaphale karmaṇi? tathā prākṛtā api kiṃcidapakāriṣvātmaduṣkṛtenaiva hateṣu svayaṃ mṛtyuṣu prahartuṃ gāḍhaprahāravedanā api saṃgrāmayantyeva | kiṃ punardrādhiṣṭhakālāpakāriṣu duḥkhopāttakuśaladhanalavastainyeṣu narakeṣu nāvadhyaghātakeṣu bhavacārakapālakeṣu niḥsaraṇadvāradignāśakeṣvānukūlye'pi dṛḍhatarabādhākareṣvanapakṛtavairiṣvanavadhikalpābaddhadṛḍhavaireṣu kleśaśatruṣu prahartumutsāho duḥkhasahanaṃ vā na bhavet? viśeṣatastribhuvanavijayāya baddhaparikarasya māraśabarapratigṛhītajagadbandimokṣāya saṃgrāmayataḥ | tatrātmaduḥkhābhyāsapūrvakaṃ kaṣṭaṃ kaṣṭatarābhyāsaḥ sidhyati | yathā ca abhyāsavaśātsattvānāṃ duḥkhasukhasaṃjñā, tathā sarvaduḥkhotpādeṣu sukhasaṃjñāpratyupasthānābhyāsāt sukhasaṃjñaiva pratyupatiṣṭhate | etanniṣyandaphalaṃ ca sarvadharmasukhākrāntaṃ nāma samādhiṃ pratilabhate | uktaṃ hi pitāputrasamāgame- asti bhagavan sarvadharmasukhākrānto nāma samādhiḥ, yasya samādheḥ pratilambhādbodhisattvaḥ sarvārambaṇavastuṣu sukhāmeva vedanāṃ vedayate, nāduḥkhāsukhām | tasya nairayikāmapi kāraṇāṃ kāryamāṇasya sukhasaṃjñaiva pratyupasthitā bhavati | mānuṣīmapi kāraṇāṃ kāryamāṇasya, hasteṣvapi chidyamāneṣu, pādeṣvapi karṇeṣvapi nāsāsvapi sukhasaṃjñaiva pratyupasthitā bhavati | vetrairapi tāḍayamānasya, ardhavetrairapi kaśābhirapi tāḍayamānasya sukhasaṃjñaiva pravartate | bandhanāgāreṣvapi prakṣiptasya | pe | tailapācikaṃ vā kriyamāṇasya, ikṣukuṭṭitabadvā kuṭṭayamānasya, naḍacippitikaṃ vā cipyamānasya, tailapradyotikaṃ vā dīpyamānasya, sarpiḥpradyotikaṃ vā dadhipradyotikaṃ vā dīpyamānasya sukhasaṃjñaiva pratyupasthitā bhavati | ulkāmukhaṃ vā hiyamāṇasya, siṃhasukhaṃ vā hriyamāṇasya, śuṣkavartikāṃ vā vartyamānasya | peyālaṃ | kārṣāpaṇacchedikaṃ vā chidyamānasya, piṣṭapācanikaṃ vā pācyamānasya, hastibhirvā mardyamānasya, sukhasaṃjñaiva pravartate | akṣiṇyutpāṭhayamāne jīvaśūlikamapi kriyamāṇasya sarvaśo vā āghātaṃ nirṇīya śirasi vā prapātyamāne sukhasaṃjñaiva pravartate, na duḥkhasaṃjñā, nāduḥkhāsukhasaṃjñā | tatkasya hetoḥ? tathā hi bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya dīrgharātraṃ caryāṃ carata etatpraṇidhānamabhūt- ye māṃ bhojayeran, te upaśamaśamasukhasya lābhino bhaveyuḥ | ye māṃ pālayeyuḥ satkuryurgurukuryurmānayeyuḥ pūjayeyuḥ, sarve te upaśamasukhasya lābhino bhaveyuḥ | ye'pi māmākrośeyurvisparśeyustāḍayeyuḥ śastreṇācchindyuryāvatsarvaśo jīvitād vyaparopayeyuḥ, sarve te saṃbodhisukhasya lābhino bhaveyuḥ, anuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhyeranniti || sa ebhirmanaskāraiḥ samanvāgataḥ etena karmaṇā ebhiḥ praṇidhibhiḥ samanvāgataḥ sarvasattvānugatāṃ sukhasaṃjñāmāsevate nisevate bhāvayati bahulīkaroti | sa tasya karmaṇo vipākena sarvadharmasukhākrāntaṃ nāma samādhiṃ pratilabhate | yasmin samaye bodhisattvena sarvadharmasukhākrānto nāma samādhiḥ pratilabdho bhavati, tasmin samaye'kṣobhyo bhavatyasaṃhāryaḥ sarvamārakarmabhiriti vistaraḥ ||
ayaṃ hi prayogaḥ sarvaparityāgapūraṇaḥ sarvacaryāduṣkaracaryāsādhanaḥ sarvakṣāntidṛḍhīkaraṇaḥ sarvavīryāsaṃsādanaḥ sarvadhyānaprajñāṅgasaṃbhāraḥ | tasmānnityamuditaḥ syāt || yathāha candrapradīpasūtre-
sagauravaḥ prītamanāḥ sa [dā] bhavet
saumyāya dṛṣṭīya sadā sthito bhavet ||iti||
uktaṃ cākṣayamatisūtre- tatra katamā muditā? yāvaddharmānusmaraṇātprītiḥ prasādaḥ prāmodyaṃ cittasyānavalīnatā anavamṛdyatā aparitarṣaṇā sarvakāmaratīnāmapakarṣaṇā sarvadharmaratīnāṃ pratiṣṭhānam, cittasya prāmodyaṃ kāyasyaudbilyaṃ buddheḥ saṃpraharṣaṇaṃ manasa utplavaḥ, tathāgatakāyābhinandanaratirlakṣaṇānuvyañjanavibhūṣaṇaparyeṣṭikauśalyam, kuśaladharmaśravaṇāparikhedatā, tatvadharmapratiśaraṇapratipattiprītiprasādaprāmodyam muditasya dharmotplavaḥ, satataṃ sattveṣvapratihatabuddhitā, tīvracchandatā, buddhadharmaparyeṣṭiṣu tasya ca dharmacchandasyānutsṛjanatā, udāreṣu buddhadharmeṣvadhimuktiḥ, vimuktiḥ prādeśikayānāpakṛṣṭacittotpādaḥ, mātsaryāsaṃkucitaścittotpādaḥ yācitasya dātukāmatā, dadato datvā ca trimaṇḍalapariśodhitaṃ dānaprāmodyam, śīlavatsu sadā prasādaḥ, duḥśīleṣvanugrahaprītiḥ, svaśīlapariśuddhayā sarvadurgandhamatikramāśvāsanam, tathāgataśīlapariṇāmanatā, dṛḍhābhedyatā, paraduruktadurāgateṣu vacanapatheṣvapratihatacittatā, kṣāntisauratyam, nirmānatā, guruṣu gauravāvanāmaścitrīkāraḥ, sadā smitamukhatā, bhṛkuṭivigatatā, pūrvābhilāpitā, akuhanatā, aneṣyaiṣikatā, śuddhāśayatā, cittākarkaśatā, akuṭilatā, sarvatrānuśaṃsadarśitā, ātmaskhalitapratyavekṣitā, āpattiṣvacodanatā, saṃrañjanīyadharmeṣvanuvartanatā, śāstṛprema bodhisattveṣu, ātmaprema dharmeṣu, jīvitaprema tathāgateṣu, mātāpitṛprema guruṣu, putraprema sattveṣu, buddhaprema ācāryopādhyāyeṣu, uttamāṅgaśiraḥprema pratipattiṣu, hastapādaprema pāramitāsu, sarvaratnaprema dharmabhāṇakeṣu, sarvaratikrīḍā premānuśāsanīṣu, ārogyaprema saṃtuṣṭau, bhaiṣajyaprema dharmaparyeṣṭiṣu, vaidyaprema codakasmārakeṣu | iti hi yā sarvendriyeṣvanavalīnendriyatā, iyamucyate muditetyādi ||
atra ca śikṣitān bodhisattvānidaṃ vacanamalaṃkaroti | yaduktamāryamahāmeghe- nirayagaticittanityasamādhānaśīlāśca nirayagatipriyāśca nirayagatipattanavaṇijaśca bhavanti | nirayalolāśca bhavanti, nirayalobhamatsariṇaśca nirayāgnicittapraguṇā bhavantīti ||

āryasāgaramatisūtre tu trividhāpi kṣāntiruktā- iha sāgaramate bodhisattvo mahāsattvaḥ sarvajñatācittotpādaratne anāryairduḥśīlaiḥ sattvairmārairmā rakāyikābhirvā devatābhirmārādhiṣṭhitairvā māradūtairvā viheṭhayamānaḥ samīryamāṇaḥ kṣobhyamāṇastarjyamānastāḍayamāno na bhidyate tato'dhyāśayacittotpādāt | na bhidyate sarvasattvapramokṣamahākaruṇāvīryārambhāt | na bhidyate triratnavaṃśānupacchedaparākramāt | na bhidyate sarvadharmasamudānayanakuśalaprayogāt | na bhidyate lakṣaṇānuvyañjanapariniṣpattigatātpuṇyasaṃbhāropacayāt | na bhidyate buddhakṣetrapariśuddhayabhinirhārāhṛtādautsukyāt | na bhidyate sarvadharmāparigrahābhiyuktāt kāyajīvitotsargāt | na bhidyate sarvasattvaparipācanābhiyuktādātmasaukhyānadhyavasānāt | sa evamadhyāśayasaṃpanna eva samānaḥ sarvasattvānāmantikāduccagghanāṃ sahate, unmananāṃ kutsanāṃ sahate, sarvasattvānāmākrośaparibhāṣāṃ duruktadurāgatān vacanapathān sahate | sarvasattvapīḍāṃ sahate | sarvasattvabhārāṃśca sahate uttārayati vā | na ca khidyate | na ca līyate | na saṃlīyate | na viṣīdati | balamupadarśayati | sthāma saṃjanayati | vīryamārabhate | parākramaṃ parākramate | utsāhaṃ janayati | unmūḍhacittaṃ nigṛhṇati | sa ākruṣṭo na pratyākrośati | tāḍito na pratitāḍayati | roṣito na pratiroṣayati | kruddhāya na pratikrudhyāti | evaṃ cittagaṇanāsaṃnāhaṃ saṃnahyati | sacetpunarete sattvā yāvanto daśasu dikṣu prabhāvyamānaḥ prabhāvyante, te sarve'siśaktitomarapāliyogena māṃ pṛṣṭhataḥ pṛṣṭhato'nubadhnīyuḥ | yatraiṣa pṛthivīpradeśe sthito vā niṣaṇṇo vā caṃkramyamāṇo vā śayāno vā bodhicittamutpādayiṣyati dānacittaṃ vā , yāvatprajñācittaṃ vā śrutakuśalamūlacittaṃ vā utpādayiṣyati, tatrāsya pṛthivīpradeśe śatadhābadarīpatrapramāṇaṃ kāyaṃ chetsyāmo vikariṣyāmo vidhvaṃsayiṣyāmaḥ | te cetsarvasattvā māmākrośayeyuḥ paribhāṣeran kutsayeyuḥ paṃsayeyurasatyābhirvāgbhiḥ paruṣābhirvāgbhiḥ samuccareyuradhiṣṭhitā anarthakarmāṇaḥ śatadhābadarīpatrapramāṇaṃ mama kāyaṃ chindyurbhindyurvikareyurvidhvaṃsayeyuḥ | evaṃ mayā na kasyacitsattvasyāntike kṣomacittamutpādayitavyam | tatkasya hetoḥ? pūrvā koṭiḥ saṃsārasyāpramāṇīkṛtā yatra me'yamātmabhāvo narakagatasyāpi tiryagyonigatasyāpi yamalokagatasyāpi manuṣyagatasyāpi kāmāhārapaliguddhasya dharmānaśrutavato viṣamājīvagocarasya nirarthakajīvinaḥ aṅgapratyaṅgasya śatadhā chinno bhinno nikṛtto vividhāmiśca kāraṇābhiḥ kāritaḥ | na ca mayā tatonidānamātmārthaḥ kṛto na parārthaḥ | sacetpunarmamaite sarvasattvā aparāntakoṭiṃ chindyurbhindyurvikireyurvidhvaṃsayeyuḥ, tathāpi mayā aparityaktaiva sarvajñatā | aparityaktā eva sarvasattvāḥ | aparityaktaḥ kuśalo dharmacchandaḥ | tatkasya hetoḥ? sarvā hyeṣā kāyapīḍā kāyavivartanā nairayikasya duḥkhasya śatatamīmapi kalāṃ nopaiti, yāvadupaniṣadamapi na kṣamate | narakāvāsamapyahamutsahe | na punarmayā buddhadharmāḥ parityaktavyāḥ, na sarvasattvārambaṇā mahākaruṇā | pe || yannidānaṃ punarvyāpāda utpadyeta, taṃ vayaṃ dharmaṃ prahāsyāmaḥ | katamaśca sa dharmaḥ? yaduta kāyaprema kāyaniketaḥ kāyādhyavasānam | utsṛṣṭaśca kāyaḥ utsṛṣṭo vyāpādaḥ | evaṃ dharmagaṇanāviṣṭaḥ sāgaramate bodhisattvaḥ sarvasattvapīḍāṃ sahate || pe|| yaḥ kāyasyotsargaḥ kāyaparityāgaḥ kāyānavekṣā, iyamasya dānapāramitā || yatkāye chidyamāne sarvasattvān maitryā spharati, vedanāmiśca na saṃhriyate, iyamasya śīlapāramitā || yatkāye chidyamāne ya evāsya kāyaṃ chindati teṣāmeva pramokṣārthaṃ kṣamate, na ca cittena kṣaṇyate, kṣāntibalaṃ copadarśayati, iyamasya kṣāntipāramitā | yena vīryeṇa taṃ sarvajñatāchandaṃ notsṛjati, cittabalādhānaṃ ca pratigṛhṇāti, saṃsārameva cānubadhnāti, kuśalamūlārambhameva cārabhate, iyamasya vīryapāramitā || yatkāye vikīryamāṇe tatsarva jñatācittotpādaratnaṃ kartuṃ na saṃmuhyati, bodhimevāpekṣate, śāntapraśāntameva pratyavekṣate, iyamasya dhyānapāramitā || yatkāye chidyamāne kāyasya tṛṇakāṣṭhakuḍayavatpratibhāsopamatāṃ pratyavekṣate, māyādharmatāṃ ca kāyasyāvatarati, bhūtānityatāṃ ca bhūtaduḥkhatāṃ ca bhūtānātmatāṃ ca bhūtaśāntatāṃ ca kāyasyopanidhyāyati, iyamasya prajñāpāramiteti vistaraḥ || peyālaṃ ||
punaraparamasyaivaṃ bhavati-eṣa sattvaḥ kusīdaḥ śukladharmarahitaḥ | sa māmākrośayati paribhāṣate | hanta vayamārabdhavīryā bhaviṣyāmaḥ | atṛptāḥ kuśalamūlaparyeṣaṇābhiyuktāḥ | eṣa eva tāvanmayā sattvaḥ pūrvataraṃ bodhimaṇḍe niṣādayitavyaḥ | paścānmayā anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhirabhisaṃboddhavyeti | pe | īdṛśānāmasmābhiḥ sattvānāmadāntānāmaguptāmāmanupaśāntānāmarthāya saṃnāhāḥ saṃnaddhavyāḥ | pe | hanta vayaṃ dharmatāṃ pratisariṣyāmaḥ | ko'trākrośati vā ākruśyate vā , sa parigaveṣamāṇo na taṃ dharmamupalabhate | ya ākrośati vā ākruśyate vā , sa ātmaparānupalabdhopalambhadṛṣṭivigataḥ kṣamata iti ||
bhagavatyāmapyuktam- evaṃ cittamutpādayati- yena mayā sarvasatvānāṃ vivāda utsārayitavyaḥ, so'haṃ svayameva vivadāmi- lābhā me durlabdhā yo'haṃ jalpite pratijalpāmi | yena mayā sarvasattvānāṃ saṃkramabhūtena bhavitavyam, so'haṃ parasya tvamityapi vācaṃ bhāṣe, paruṣaṃ vā prativaco dadāmi || idaṃ mayā naiva vaktavyaṃ jaḍasamena, eḍakamūkasamena mayā kalahavivādeṣu bhavitavyam | parato duruktān durāgatāna durbhāṣitān bhāṣyamāṇān vacanapathān śṛṇvatā cittaṃ nāghātayitavyam | pareṣāmantike na mamaitatsādhu na pratirūpaṃ yo'haṃ parasya doṣāntaraṃ saṃjanayeyam | etanna mama pratirūpaṃ yadahaṃ pareṣāṃ doṣāntaramapi saṃśrotavyaṃ manye | |tatkasya hetoḥ? na mayā āśayo vikopayitavyo yena mayā sarvasattvāḥ sarvasukhopadhānena sukhayitavyāḥ, parinirvāpayitavyāśca anuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhimabhisaṃbudhya, tatra nāmāhaṃ vyāpadye | na ca mayā pareṣāṃ svaparāddhānāmapi vyāpattavyam | sa nāmāhaṃ mohaṃ kṣomaṃ gacchāmi | idaṃ tu mayā karaṇīyam- dṛḍhaparākramatayā parākrāntavyam | na mayā jīvitāntarāye'pi kriyamāṇe kṣobhaḥ karaṇīyaḥ | na mayā bhṛkuṭī mukhe utpādayitavyeti ||
bodhisattvaprātimokṣe'pyuktam- ye kruddhāḥ sattvāstānāśvāsayati, kṣamāpayati, anulomayati, dharmeṇa toṣayatīti ||
iti śikṣāsamuccaye kṣāntipāramitā paricchedo navamaḥ ||
