namo mañjuśriye kumārabhūtāya|



mahāyānasūtranayānupraviśyamānānāṃ bhāvanākramaḥ saṃkṣepataḥ kathyate|

iha atīśighraṃ sarvajñatāprāptukāmena prekṣāvatā tatprāpaka-hetu-pratyayebhyo'bhiyogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ|



itthamiyaṃ sarvajñatā tu hetuṃ vinā bhavituṃ na yujyate, sarvasyāpi sarvadā sarvajñatābhāvaprasaṅgatvāt| nirapekṣabhāve tu kutrāpi pratigho na syād, yato hi sarve'pi sarvajñā eva na bhavanti| kiṃ tarhi kasyacit kadācit kiñcinmātraṃmūtatvāt sarvaṃ hi vastu hetusāpekṣameva| sarvajñatā'pi kutracit kadācit kiñcit saṃbhāvyate| sarvasminnapi kāle nāsti, sarvasmin sthāne nāsti, sarvamapi nāsti, tasmāt sā tu niyatameva hetupratyayasāpekṣā| taddhetupratyayeṣvapi abhrāntā avikalāśca sevitavyāḥ| bhrantahetvanuṣṭhāne tu atidīrghakālenāpi na iṣṭaphala-prāptiḥ| yathā-śṛṅgāt payodohavat| sakalahetusevanaṃ vinā'pi na phalotpādaḥ| bījādiṣu kasyacidapi abhāve aṅkurādiphalānutpādāt| tasmāt tatphalakāmenābhrāntasakalaṃ hetupratyayaṃ sevanīyam|



ke hetupratyayāḥ sarvajñatāphalasya iti? ucyate, mādṛśo jātyandhasadṛśastān darśayituṃ na śaknoti, tathāpi bhagavataivābhisaṃbuddhaya vineyajanebhyo yathoktaṃ tathaiva mayā bhagavadvacanenaiva kathyate| bhagavāṃstan avocat-"guhyādhipate! tat sarvajñajñānaṃ karuṇāmūlaṃ bodhicittahetukam upāyaparyavasānam" iti| tasmāt sarvajñatāmadhigantukāmaiḥ karuṇā-bodhicittopāyeṣu eteṣu triṣu śikṣitavyam|



karuṇayā preryamāṇā bodhisattvāḥ sarvasattvābhyuddhāraṇartham avaśyaṃ pratijñāsyanti| ataḥ svātmadṛṣṭiṃ nirākṛtya atiduṣkarāvichinna-dīrghakāla-sādhītapuṇyajñānasambhāreṣu ādareṇa pravṛttiḥ| tatra praviśya paripūrṇa puṇyajñānasambhāram avaśyaṃ sādhayati| sambhārāpariniṣpattau sarvajñatā karatalagatavad bhaviṣyati| tarhi sarvajñatāmūlaṃ tu karuṇāyā eva bhūtatvāt sā tu prathamatarameva bhavanīyā| āryadharmasaṃgītisūtre-"na bhagavan bodhisattvena atibahuṣu dharmeṣu śikṣitavyam| eko dharmo bhagavan bodhisattvena svārādhitaḥ supratibiddhaḥ kartavyaḥ| tasya sarvabuddhadharmāḥ karatalagatā bhavanti| katama ekadharmaḥ ? yaduta mahākaruṇā|" iti|



mahākaruṇāparigṛhītatvād bhagavanto buddhāḥ sakalasvārthasampattilābhe'pi sattvadhātuparyavasānaparyantaṃ tiṣṭhanti| śrāvakavad atiśānte'pi nirvāṇanagare na praviśantiṃ| sattvān avalokya tacchāntanirvāṇanagaraṃ prajvaladayogṛhavad dūraṃ tyaktatvād bhagavatām apratiṣṭhitanirvāṇahetustu sā mahākaruṇā eva|



atra sa karuṇābhāvanākramaḥ prathamapraveśādārabhya abhidhātavyaḥ| saṃprati upekṣābhāvanayā sarvasattveṣu anurāgaṃ dveṣaṃ ca nirasya samācittatā prathamaṃ niṣpādayitavyā|



sarve sattvāḥ sukhaṃ kāmayante, duḥkhaṃ tu na kāmayante| anādimati ca saṃsāre na kaścit sattvo yo nābhūt śataśo me bandhuriti paricintaya-taścātra ko viśeṣaḥ syāt ? tarhi kasmiṃścid anurāgaḥ kasmiṃścicca dveṣo bhavet, tasmān mayā sarveṣu sattveṣu cittasamataiva kāryā iti| evaṃ manasikāreṇa madhyasthapakṣata ārabhya mitre śatrau cacittasamatāmeva bhāvayet| tataḥ sarvasattveṣu cittasamatāṃ sādhayitvā maitrīṃ bhāvayet| maitrījalena cittasaṃtānaṃ siṃcayitvā vidyamānasuvarṇabhūmivat kṛtvā karuṇābījavapane sukhena atisuvistāro bhaviṣyati| tataścittasaṃtānaṃ maitryā vāsayitvā karuṇāṃ bhāvayet|



sā ca karuṇā sarvapīḍitasattvaduḥkhāvagamecchākārā'sti| lokatrayasya sarvasattvānāṃ trividhaduḥkhatayā yathāyogam atyantaduḥkhitatvāt tadartha sarvasattveṣu sā bhāvanīyā| tathā ca ye tāvannākārakāste vividhacirantanadīrghakālikadāhādi-dukheḥṣu nimagnā eva bhāvato varṇitāḥ| tathā pretā api prāyo duḥsahatīvrakṣuttṛṣuduḥkhāgnyabhisaṃśoṣitamūrtayo bahuduḥkhamanubhavanti iti varṇitāḥ| tiryañco'pi parasparabhakṣaṇakrodhavadhahiṃsādibhiranekavidhaṃ duḥkhamanubhavanto dṛśyanta eva| manuṣyā api kāmaparyeṣaṇākārpaṇyād anyo'nyadrohopadhātakṛtaṃ priyaviprayogāpriyasaṃyogaṃ dāridrayādyutpannam aprameyaṃ duḥkhamanubhavanto dṛśyanto|



ye rāgādinānā-saṃkleśaparyaveṣṭitacittāḥ, ye ca vividhakudṛṣṭigahananimagnāste sarve'pi duḥkhahetutvāt prapatasthā iva atiduḥkhitā eva| devā api sarvavipariṇāmaduḥkhaduḥkhitā eva| devā api ye kāmavacarāste'pi nityacyavanapatanādibhayaśkopahatāḥ kathaṃ sukhitā nāma ? saṃskāradu khaṃ tu karmakleśalakṣaṇaṃ hetuparatantrasvabhāvaṃ pratikṣaṇabhaṅgurasvabhāvalakṣaṇaṃ ca sakalajagati vyāptam| tasmāt sakalameva jagad duḥkhāgnijvālāntarapraviṣṭam avetya yathā mama duḥkham apriyam anyeṣāmapi tādṛśam iti cintayatā| aho bata ! duḥkhitā mamaite priyasattvāstu kathaṃ tadduḥkhamuktāḥ syuriti svātmaduḥkhavat kṛtvā tannivāraṇecchākārayā karuṇayā samādhyavasthāyāṃ sarvacaryāsu vāpi sarvadā sarvasattvān bhāvayet| prathamaṃ tāvad mitrapakṣeṣu anubhūtapūrvoktavividhaduḥkheṣu anupaśyatā bhāvanīyā|



tataḥ sattvasamatayāviśeṣamapaśyatā 'sarve sattvāstu me bandhubhūtā eva' iti paricintayatā madhyamapakṣeṣu bhavanīyā| yadā tatra mitrapakṣeṣviva sā karuṇā tulyā pravṛttā bhavati tadā daśasu dikṣu sarvasattveṣu bhāvayet| yadā duḥkhitapriyaśiśoḥ mātṛvat svātmano'tipriyaṃ duḥkhata uddaraṇecchākārā svarasavāhinīṃ sarvasattveṣu samapravṛttā kṛpā bhavati tadā sā niṣpannā bhavati, mahākaruṇāvyapadeśaṃ ca labhate|



prathamaṃ tāvad mitrapakṣe kṛtā maitrībhāvanā sukhasaṃyogecchākārā bhavati, kramaśaḥ vyasteṣu śatruṣu cāpi bhāvanīyā| tathā'bhyastā ca sā karuṇā kramaśaḥ sakalasattvābhyuddharaṇecchāṃ svarasena eva utpādayati|



ato mūlakaruṇāṃ bhāvayitvā bodhicittaṃ bhāvayet| tad bodhicittaṃ tu dvividham-saṃvṛtaṃ paramārtha ca| tatra saṃvṛtaṃ tu karuṇayā sakalasattvābhyuddharaṇaṃ pratijñāya 'jagaddhitāya buddho bhaveyam' iti, anuttarasamyaksambodhicchākāraḥ prathamaścittotpādaḥ| tathāpi śīlaparivartapradarśita-vidhivad bodhisattvaḥ saṃvarasthitānyavidvatsu cittamutpādayet|



tathā saṃvṛtabodhicittamutpādya paramārthabodhicittotpādārthaṃ prayatitavyam| tacca paramārthagocaram, vimalam, acalam, nirvātapradīpapravāhavanniṣkampam| tatsiddhistu satataṃ satkṛtya dīrghakālaṃ śamathavipaśyanāyogabhāvanākaraṇād bhaviṣyati| āryasaṃdhinirmocane yathā "maitreya ! śrāvakāṇāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ tathāgatānāṃ vā ye'pi sarve'pi laukikalokottarakuśaladharmāḥ śamathavipaśyanāphalā veditavyā iti|" taddvayoḥ sarvasamādhisaṃgṛhītatvāt sarvayogibhiḥ sadā avaśyaṃ śamathavipaśyane sevanīye| tatraiva āryasaṃdhinirmocane bhagavatā uktam, tadyathā-"mayā śrāvakāṇāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ tathāgatānāṃ vividhasamādhayo darśitāḥ, te sarve śamathavipaśyanāsaṃgṛhītā veditavyāḥ" iti|



kevalaṃ śamathamātrabhāvanayā na yoginām āvaraṇaprahāṇam, kleśavikrāntimātrameva tāvat| prajñālokābhāve'nuśayahānyasaṃbhavād anuśayasaṃhāro na bhaviṣyati| tasmāt tatraiva āryasaṃdhinirmocane uktam "dhyānena hi kleśānāṃ vikrāntiḥ| prajñayā tu anuśayaṃ saṃpratihanti iti"|



āryasamādhirājasūtre'pi-



kiṃ cāpi bhāveyya samādhiloke

na co vibhāveyya sa ātmasaṃjñām|

punaḥ prakupyanti kileśu tasya

yathodrakasyeha samādhibhāvanā|



nairātmyadharmān yadi pratyavekṣate

tān pratyavekṣya yadi bhāvayet|

sa hetu nirvāṇaphalasya prāptaye

yo anyaheturna sa bhoti śāntaye|| iti uktam|



bodhisattvapiṭake'pi-"ye bodhisattvapiṭakasya etaddharmaparyāyāśravaṇe, āryavinayadharmaśravaṇaṃ ca vinā samādhimātreṇa saṃtoṣagrahaṇe tu ahaṃkāravaśād abhimāne patitāḥ janmajarārogamaraṇaśokaparidevanāduḥkhadaurmanasyakopāparimuktāḥ| ṣaḍgatisaṃsārāparimuktāḥ duḥkhaskandhato'pi aparimuktāḥ| tān saṃdhāya tathāgatena evam uktam-parasmād anukūlaśrotā tu jarāmaraṇamukto bhaviṣyati" iti|



tasmāt sakalāvaraṇaṃ vihāya viśuddhajñānodbhavakāmena śamathe sthitvā prajñā bhāvanīyā| evam āryaratnakūṭe'pi bhāṣitam-



śīlaṃ pratiṣṭhāya samādhilābhaḥ

samādhilābhācca hi prajñābhāvanā|

prajñāyā jñānaṃ bhavati viśuddhaṃ

viśuddhajñānasya hi śīlasampat||iti|



āryamahāyānaśraddhābhāvanāsūtre'pi uktam-"kulaputra ! prajñāyām anupasthitau bodhisattvānāṃ mahāyānaśraddhā mahāyāne kathamapi utpatsyate (iti) ahaṃ na vakṣyāmi| kulaputra ! anena paryāyeṇāpi evaṃ bodhisattvānāṃ yā kācid mahāyānaśraddhā mahāyāne utpatsyate sā sarvā tu avikṣiptacittena dharmārthasaṃcintanāt samutpannā veditavyā|"



śamathaṃ vinā vipaśyanāmātreṇa yogicittaṃ viṣayeṣu vikṣipyate, vāyumadhyasthitapradīpavacca sthiraṃ na bhavati| ato jñānāloko'tisphuṭo na bhavati| tasmād ubhayaṃ samaṃ sevitavyam| ataḥ āryamahāparinirvāṇasūtre'pi uktam- "śrāvakaistu tathāgatagotraṃ na dṛśyate| samādheradhikatvāt prajñāyāśca alpatvāt bodhisattvāstu paśyanti, kintu asphuṭam, prajñātirekāt samādheścālpatvāt| tathāgatastu sarvam avalokayati śamathavipaśyanāsamānayuktatvād " iti| śamathabalena ca vāyunā akṣobhyapradīpavad vikalpavāyubhiścittaṃ na kampate| vipaśyanayā tu sakalakudṛṣṭimalaprahāṇatvād anyairabhedyā| candrapradīpasutre yathā-



akampiyaḥ śamathabalena bhoti śailopamo bhoti vipaśyanāya|



ityuktam| ataḥ ubhayena yogakaraṇaṃ sthitam|



tatra ādau saṃprati tena yoginā sukhaṃ śīghraṃ ca śamatha-vipaśyanāsiddhaye śamathavipaśyanāsambhāraḥ sevanīyaḥ| tatra śamathasaṃbhāraḥ katamaḥ? anukūladeśavāsaḥ, alpecchatā, santuṣṭiḥ, kriyābāhulyaparihāraḥ, śīlaviśuddhiḥ icchādivikalpaparityāgaśca|



tatra pañcaguṇayukto hi deśo'nukūlo jñātavyaḥ| vastrabhojanādeḥ akṛcchreṇa prāptitvāt sulabdhaḥ, durjanaśatrvādyanavasthitatvāt susthānam, nīrogabhūmitvāt subhūmiḥ, mitraśīlavatsamadṛṣṭitvāt sanmitram, divā bahujanāpūritatvād rātrau alpaśabdatvācca syuyuktam| alpecchatā katamā ? cībarāderautkṛṣṭamasya ādhikyasya vā anadhyavasanam| saṃtuṣṭiḥ katamā ? abaramātracivarāḍilābhena yaḥ sadā santoṣaḥ| kriyābāhulyaparihāraḥ katamaḥ ? krayavikrayādiduṣkarmaparihāraḥ, gṛhastha-pravrajitānyatamātisaṃstutipariharaḥ, oṣadhinirmāṇanakṣatragaṇānādiparihāraśca|



śīlaviśuddhiḥ katamā ? saṃvaradvaye'pi prakṛti-pratikṣepasāvadyaśikṣāpadābhaṅgatā, pramādabhaṅge'pi śīghrātiśīghraṃ paścāttāpena yathādharmācaraṇam| śrāvakasaṃvare pārājikapratividhāne'yogyaṃ kathanaṃ yadasti tasminnapi paścāttāpaḥ, paścācca akaraṇa-manasikāraḥ| yaccittena yatkarmaṃ kṛtam, taccitte niḥsvabhāvatāpratisaṃkhyānad sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatābhāvanātvāt tatchīlaviśuddhireva vaktavyā| tattu āryājātaśatrukaukṛtyavinodanād avaboddhavyam| tasmāt kaukṛtyābhāvaṃ kṛtvā bhāvanāyām abhiyogaḥ karttavyaḥ|



kāmeṣvapi iha janmāntare ca bhāvino vividhadoṣān manasikṛtya teṣu vikalpaḥ pariharttavyaḥ| etāvatā saṃsārabhāvaḥ priyo'priyo vāpi tatsarvaṃ tu vināśadharmi asthiraṃ ca| niścayena tatsarvasmin mayi ca aciraṃ viyoge bhāve sati mama tasmin katham adhyavasitādirbhaved iti bhāvanayā sarve vikalpāḥ pariharttavyāḥ|



vipaśyanā-sambhāraḥ katamaḥ? satpuruṣāśrayaḥ, bahuśrutaparyeṣaṇā, yoniśomanasikāraśca| tatra kīdṛśaṃ satpuruṣam āśrayed iti cet-yo bahuśrutaḥ prasannavāk, kāruṇiko nirvitsahaśca| tatra bahuśrutaparyeṣṭiḥ katamā ? yat sādaraṃ bhagavaddvādaśāṅgadharmapravacananeyārthanītārthātiśravaṇam| ittham āryasaṃdhinirmocane-"yatheccham āryākhyānāśravaṇaṃ hi vipaśyanāvighnaḥ" iti uktam| tatraiva "vipaśyanā ca śravaṇamananābhyāmutpannaviśuddhadṛṣṭihetorūtpadyate|" ityuktam| āryānārāyaṇaparipṛcchāyām api-"śrutimati prajñāpradurbhavati| prajñāvataḥ kleśāḥ praśāmyanti|" ityuktam|



yoniśomanasikāraḥ katamaḥ ? yasya nītārthasūtraneyārthasūtrādisunirṇayastādṛśe bodhisattve niḥśaṅke sati bhāvanāyām aikāntikaniścayo bhaviṣyati| anyathā saṃśayāndolitayānasthitastu śṛṅgāṭakamadhyagatamanuṣyavat kutrāpi aikāntikaniścayo na bhaviṣyati|



yoginā tu sadā matsyamāṃsādi parihṛtya apratikūlaṃ bhojanaṃ niyatamātrakaṃ bhoktavyam| tathā tena sāñcitasakalaśamathavipaśyanāsambhāreṇabodhisattvena bhāvanāyāṃ praveṣṭavyam|



tatra prathamaṃ tāvad yogī bhāvanākāle sarvam itikaraṇīyaṃ parisamāpyaṃ kṛtamūtrapurīṣaḥ kaṇṭakasvarādirahite mano'nūkūle pradeśe sthitvā mayā sarvasattvā bodhimaṇḍe niṣpādayitavyā iti viniścayan, sakalajagadabhyuddharaṇāśayo mahākaruṇām āmukhīkṛtya daśadigavasthitān sarvabuddhabhodhisattvān pañcāṅgena praṇipatyāgrato buddhabodhisattvan paṭādau sthāpayitvā anyatra vā yathāvat tebhyaśca yathāruci pūjāstavanaṃ kṛtvā svapāpaṃ pradeśya, sakalasya jagataḥ puṇyam anumodya, mṛdutarasukhāsane vairocanabhaṭṭārakabaddhaparyaṅkena ardhaparyaṅkena vā niṣpādya nātyunmūīlite nātinimīlite nāsikāgravinyaste cakṣuṣī kṛtvā, nātinamraṃ nātistabdham ṛjukāyaṃ praṇidhāyāntarmukhāvarjitasmṛtirupaviśet| tataḥ skandhau samau sthāpayet| śiro nonnatam nāvanataṃ eka-pārśve niścalaṃ sthāpayitavyam| kiṃ tarhi nābhipraguṇā nāsikā sthāpayitavyā| dantoṣṭhaṃ mṛdu sthāpanīyam| jivhā coparidantamūle sthāpanīyā| āśvāspraśvāsāstu na saśabdā nāpi sthūlā nāpi tvaritāḥ karaṇīyāḥ| kiṃ tvasaṃlakṣyamāṇā mandaṃ mandamanābhogena yathā praviśeyurnirgaccheyurvā tathā karaṇiyam|



tatra prathamaṃ tāvat śamatho nispādayitavyaḥ, bāhyaviṣayavikṣepaśānteḥ āntarālambane satataṃ svarasavāhi prītiprasrabdhivaccitta eva sthitistu śamatha iti ucyate| tasyaiva śamathasyālambanakāle yastattva-vicāraḥ sā vipaśyanā| āryaratnameghe yathā-"śamathaścittaikāgratā| vipaśyanā bhūtapratyavekṣeti" uktam|



āryasaṃdhinirmocane'pi-"bhagavan kathaṃ śamathaparigaveṣaṇaṃ vipaśyanākauśalaṃ cāsti ? ucyate| maitreya ! mayā dharmopacāro vyavasthāpitaḥ| tadyathā-ye sūtrageyavyākaraṇa-gāthā-udāna-nidāna-avadāna-itivṛttaka-jātaka-vaipulya-adbhūtadharma-upadeśa-vargāḥ bodhisattvebhya ākhyātāste bodhisattvaiḥ saṃśrutya saṃdhārya, pāṭhamabhyasya, manasā samparīkṣya, dṛṣṭyā supratividdhaya sa ekākī viviktasthaḥ, antaḥ pratisaṃlīnaḥ, yathāsucintitān tāneva dharmān manasikṛtya, yena cittena manasikārastaccitābhyantaraṃ satataṃ manasikāreṇa manasikāraḥ| tathā praviśya tatra bahuśaḥ sthitaḥ tasyāṃ kāyaprasrabdhicittaprasrabdhisambhavaśca yo'sti sa tu śamatha iti| tarhi bodhisattvaḥ śamathaparigaveṣaṇaṃ karoti| tena kāyaprasrabdhiḥ, cittaprasrabdhiśca| te prāpya tatraiva sthitaḥ, cittavikṣepaṃ vihāya yathā cintitadharmaḥ teṣāmeva abhyantare samādhigocarapratibimbaṃ pratyavekṣate, adhimucyate, tādṛk samādhigocarapratibimbam, tajjñeyarthe vivicyate pravivecanaṃ parikalpanaṃ paryavekṣaṇaṃ kṣāntiḥ, kāmo viśiṣṭaivbhāgo darśanam, adhigamaśca yo'sti, sā tu vipaśyanā iti, tathā ca bodhisattvavipaśyanā kauśalam ityuktam|"



tatra śamathābhinirhārakāmo yogī prathamaṃ tāvat sūtrageyādisakalapravacanaṃ tu tathatāparāyaṇam, tathatāpragbhāram, tathatāpravaṇama iti sarvaṃ saṃgrāhya tatra cittam upasthāpayet| etāvatā kiyadākāreṇa sarvadharmasaṃgrahabhute skandhādau tatra cittam upasthāpayet| etāvatā yathādṛṣṭa-yathāśrutabuddhapratimāyāṃ cittaṃ sthāpitavyam| āryasamādhirāje yathā-



suvarṇavarṇena samucchrayeṇa

samantaprāsādiku lokanāthaḥ|

yasyātra ālambani cittu vartate

samāhitaḥ socyati bodhisattva||iti uktam|



tathā yatra icchālambanaṃ tasmin cittaṃ sthāpayitvā tatraiva uparyupari satataṃ cittaṃ sthāpayet| tatra upasthāpya cittam īdṛśamevaṃ parīkṣeta| 'kim ālambanaṃ sugṛṇhāti līyate vā athavā bāhyaviṣayavyasekād vikṣipyate’ iti parīkṣitavyam| tatra yadi styānamiddhābhibhavād cittaṃ līnaṃ vā layābhiśaṅkā darśane tatkāle pramodya vastuni buddhapratimādau vā alokasaṃjñāmanasikaraḥ kartavyaḥ| atha layam upaśāmya yathāpi tatraiva ālambane cittālambanam atisphuṭadarśanaṃ bhavati tathā karaṇiyam|



yadā tu jātyandhavad andhakārapraviṣṭapuruṣavad vā vinimīlitākṣavad vā cittam ālambanaṃ atisphuṭaraṃ na paśyati tadā līnaṃ veditavyam| yadā bāhyarūpādau teṣāṃ guṇakalpanayā dhāvanena, anyamanasikāreṇa vā pūrvānubhūtaviṣayecchayā cittauddhatyaṃ vā auddhatyaśaṅkādarśanaṃ vā tadā sarve saṃskārā anityā duḥkhādimanosaṃvegavastu manasi karttavyam| tataḥ vikṣepaśāntiṃ kṛtvā smṛtisamprajanyarajjunā manonāgaḥ tadālambanastambhe eva bandhitavyaḥ| yadā layauddhatye na bhavataḥ tadālambena cittapraśamavahitāṃ paśyet, tadā ābhogaśithilikaraṇād upekṣayā tatkāle yāvadicchaṃ tiṣṭhet| itthaṃ bhāvitaśamathasya taccharīrasya cittasya ca praśrabdhirbhaviṣyati| yathecchālambane cittaṃ svavaśe bhaviṣyati| tadā śamatho niṣpanno veditavyaḥ|



tataḥ śamathaṃ niṣpādya vipaśyanāṃ bhāvayet| īdṛśaṃ ca mantavyam bhagavataḥ sarvavacanaṃ tu subhaṣitam, sākṣāt paramparayā vā tattvapratyakṣavyañajanaṃ tattvaparāyaṇameva ca| tattvajñāne ālokobhdavāt tamonirāsavat sarvadṛṣṭijālaviyogo bhaviṣyati| śamathamātreṇa jñānaśuddhirna bhaviṣyati, āvaraṇa-tamonirāsaścāpi na bhaviṣyati| prajñayā ca tattvasamyagbhāvanāyāṃ jñānaviśuddhirbhaviṣyati| prajñayā eva tattvamavagamyate prajñayaiva āvaraṇaṃ samyak prahīyate| tasmānmayā śamathe sthitvā prajñayā tattvaṃ paryeṣitavyam| śamathamātreṇa saṃtoṣo na karaṇīya iti vicāraṇīyam|



kīdṛśaṃ ca tattvam iti cet ? yat paramārthataḥ sarvavastupudgala dharmātmaśūnyam, tatprajñāparimitayā adhigamyate na cānyathā| āryasaṃdhinirmocane yathoktam "bhagavan ! kayā pāramitayā bodhisattvaḥ dharmaniḥsvabhāvatāṃ gṛṇhīyāt ? avalokiteśvara ! prajñāpāramitayā gṛhyate |" iti| tasmāt śamathe sthitvā prajñāṃ bhāvayet|



tatraivaṃ yogī vicārayet, 'pudgalaḥ na skandhadhātvāyatanavyatirikta upalabhyate| na cāpi pudgalaḥ skandhādisvabhavaḥ| te skandhādayastu anityāḥ, anekasvabhāvatvāt pudgalasya ca nityaikarūpeṇa parairupakalpitatvāt| nāpi tattvānyatvābhyām anabhilāpyapudgalasya vastutvaṃ yuktam| vastusataḥ prakārāntarābhāvāt| tasmāt tadyathā bhrama eva ayaṃ lokasya yadutāhaṃ memeti vicāritavyam|



dharmanairātmyamapi evaṃ bhavanīyam| dharma iti saṃkṣepataḥ pañcaskandho dvādaśāyatanam, aṣṭādaśadhātavaśca| tatra ye ca skandhāyatanadhāturūpiṇaḥ, na te paramārthataḥ cittākāravyatiriktāḥ| tatparamāṇuśo vibhāge paramāṇavo'pi bhāgaśaḥ svabhāvatāpratyavekṣamāṇāḥ svabhāvaniścayagrahaṇābhāvāt| tasmād anādikālikavitatharūpādyabhiniveśavaśāt svapnopalabhyamānarūpādipratibhāsavad bālānāṃ cittameva bahiḥ vicchinnamiva rūpādipratibhāsaṃ khyāti| paramārthatastatra rūpādistu na cittākāravyatirikta iti vicārayet| tad evaṃ traidhātukamidaṃ tu cittamātramiti cintayet| sa evaṃ cittameva sakaladharmaprajñaptiṃ niścitya tatra pratyavekṣya ca sarvadharmāṇāṃ svabhāvaḥ pratyavekṣito bhavatīti cittasvabhāvamapi pratyavekṣate| sa evaṃ vicārayati|



cittamapi paramārthaḥ satyaṃ bhavitum na yujyate| yadā hi alīkasvabhāvarūpādyākaropagrahaṇe cittameva citrākāraṃ pratibhāsate, tadā satyatvaṃ kutra bhavet| yathā rūpādī alīkaṃ tathā cittamapi tadavyatiriktatvād alīkameva| yathā citrākāratayā rūpādayo naikānekasvabhāvāḥ tathā cittamapi tadavyatirekeṇa anikānekasvabhāvam| tasmāt māyādisvabhāvopamameva cittam|



yathā cittamevaṃ sarvadharmā api māyāsvabhāvasadṛśā eva iti vicārayet| tena tathā prajñayā cittasvabhāve pratyevekṣamāṇe paramārthataḥ cittam abhyantare'pi nopalabhate, bāhye'pi nopalabhate, anubhayo'pi nopalabhate, atītacittamapi nopalabhate, anāgatamapi nopalabhate, pratyutpannamapi nopalabhate| nāpi cittamutpādyamānaṃ kuto'pyāgacchati, nāpi nirudhyamānaṃ kvacidapi gacchati| cittaṃ tu agrāhyam anirdeśyam, arūpam ca| anirdeśyam agrahyam arūpam ca yadasti tasya svabhāvaḥ kīdṛśaḥ ? tathā āryaratnakūṭe yathoktam-"kāśyapa ! cittaṃ tu parigaveṣyamāṇaṃ na labhyate| yanna labdhaṃ tanna ālambyate yacca nālambyate| tannātītam, nānāgatam, na ca pratyutpannam|" iti vistaraḥ| tad evaṃ parīkṣyamāṇe cittasya ādiṃ na samanupasyati, antaṃ na samanupaśyati madhyaṃ na samanupaśyati|



yathā ca cittam anantamadhyaṃ tathā sarvadharmānapi anantamadhyam avagacchet| tena tadevaṃ cittam anantamadhyam avagamya kimapi cittasvabhāvaṃ nopalabhate| yadapi cittaṃ parīkṣyate tadapi śūnyaṃ pratividhyati| tatpratividhyamāne cittaviṭhapanāsvabhāvaṃ rūpādisvabhāvamapi na samanupaśyati| tena tathā prajñayā sarvadharmasvabhāvasya asamanudarśanatvād rūpaṃ nityam anityaṃ vā, śūnyam aśūnyaṃ vā, sāsravam anāsravaṃ vā, utpannam anutpannaṃ vā, bhāvo'bhāvo vetī na vikalpayati| yathā rūpaṃ na vikalpayati tathā vedanāsaṃjñāsaṃskāravijñāneṣvapi na vikalpayati| asiddhe dharmiṇi tasya viśeṣaṇānāmapi asiddhatvāt, tatra kathaṃ vikalpayet| tad evaṃ prajñayā parīkṣyamāṇo yadā yoginā kasyacid vastunaḥ svabhāvaparamārthaniścayo na gṛhyate, tadā nirvikalpasamādhau praviśati| sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatā api avagamyate|



yaḥ prajñayā vastusvabhāvaṃ pratyavekṣya na bhāvayan, manasikāraparihāramātraṃ bhāvayati, tasya vikalpaḥ kadāpi na nivartate, na ca niḥsvabhāvatāvabodho'pi bhaviṣyati, prajñālokābhāvāt| evaṃ samyakpratyavekṣaṇāt samyagyathāvajjñānāgnibhāve'raṇimanthanāgnivat kalpanāvṛkṣo dahyate iti bhagavatā uktam|



tathā uktam āryaratnameghe-"sa evam apakṣālakuśalaḥ sarvaprapañcavigamāya śūnyatābhāvanāya yogamāpadyate| sa śūnyatābhāvanabahulo yeṣu yeṣu sthāneṣu cittaṃ prasarati, cittamabhiramate, tāni tāni sthānāni svabhāvataḥ parigaveṣamāṇaḥ śūnyaṃ pratividhyati| yat cittaṃ tadapi parīkṣamāṇaḥ śūnyaṃ pratividhyati, yenāpi cittena parīkṣate tad api svabhāvataḥ śūnyaṃ parigaveṣyamāṇaṃ pratividhyati| sa evam upaparīkṣamāṇo nirnimittatāyāṃ yogamāpadyate|" iti bhavati| anena tu paryavekṣaṇapūrvagāmitāyāḥ nirnimittatāpraveśaṃ darśayati| manasikāraparihāramātram, prajñayā vastusvabhāvatāṃ ca avicārya, avikalpatāpraveśam asaṃbhāvya, atisphuṭataraṃ darśayati| tathā tayā prajñayā rūpādivastusvabhāvaṃ samyag yathāvat parīkṣya dhyāyati, rūpādau sthitvā dhyānaṃ na karoti| ihalokaparalokayormadhye sthitvā dhyānaṃ na karoti, tadrūpādyanupalambhāt| tasmād apratiṣṭhitadhyāna iti ucyate|



prajñayā skalavastusvabhāvatāṃ prativīkṣya yasmād anupalambhaṃ dhyāyati-tasmāt prajñottaradhyāyī iti ucyate| āryagaganagañja-āryaratnacūḍādiṣu yathā nirdiṣṭam|



sa evaṃ pudgaladharmanairātmyamayaṃ tattvamavatīrṇaḥ, aparasya parīkṣaṇīyasya darśanīyasya ca abhāvād uparatam, vitarka-vicāra-anabhilāpyaikarasena manasā svarasavāhinā anabhisaṃskāratastattvameva sphuṭataraṃ bhāvayan tiṣṭhet| tatra ca sthitaścittasaṃtānaṃ na vikṣipet| yadāntarā rāgādīnāṃ cittaṃ bahirdhā vikṣapet tadā vikṣepaṃ viditvā śighram aśubhabhāvanādivikṣepam upaśamya śīghraṃ tathatāyāṃ cittam uparyupari praveśayet| yadā tu tatrānabhirataṃ cittaṃ paśyet, tadā samādherguṇadarśanād abhiratiṃ tatra bhāvayet| vikṣepe ca doṣadarśanād aratiṃ praśamayet| atha styānamiddhābhibhavād yadā sphuṭapracāratayā līnaṃ cittaṃ paśyet, layābhiśaṅkitaṃ vā tadā pūrvavat pramodyavastu manasikāreṇa śīghraṃ layamupaśamayet| punaḥ tad eva tattvālambanam atidṛḍhataraṃ gṛṇhīyāt| yadi tadā pūrvahasitaramitānyanusmṛtya cittamantarā samṛddhataṃ paśyed auddhatyābhiśaṅkitaṃ vā tadā anityatādisaṃvegavastumanasikārād vikṣepaṃ śamayet| tataḥ punastatraiva tattve cittānabhisaṃskāravāhitāyāṃ yatnaṃ kurvīta|



atha yadā layauddhatyābhyāṃ viviktatayā samapravṛttaṃ svarasavāhisphuṭataraṃ tatraiva tattve cittaṃ utpādayate, tadā bhogaśithilīkaraṇād upekṣaṇiyam| yadi samapravṛtte citte sati ābhogaḥ kriyate, tadā cittaṃ vikṣepyate| līne'pi citte sati, yadyābhogo na kriyate, tadā atilīnatvād vipaśyanārahitaṃ, cittaṃ ca jātyandhavad bhaviṣyati| tasmāccitte līne sati bhogaṃ kuvīta| samapravṛtte sati bhogaṃ na kurvīta| yadā ca vipaśyanāṃ bhāveyat prajñātiriktatarā bhavet, tadā śamathasyālpatvāt pravātasthita-pradīpavat pracalatvāccittasya na sphuṭaraṃ tattvadarśanaṃ bhavet| atastadā śamathau bhāvayitavyaḥ| śamathasyābhyadhikye'pi prajñā bhāvayitavyā|



yadā ubhayaṃ samapravṛttaṃ tadā anabhisaṃskāreṇaiva tāvat sthātavyaṃ yāvat kāyacittapīḍā na bhavet| satyāṃ kāyādipīḍāyāṃ tadantarā sakalameva lokaṃ māyāmarīcisvapnajalacandropamapratibhāsavad dṛṣṭvā īdṛśaṃ cintanīyam| amī sattvāstu evaṃ vidhadharmagāmbhiryānavabodhatayā saṃsāre saṃkliṣṭāḥ| tato'haṃ kariṣyāmi tāṃstāṃ dharmatām avabodhayeyuḥ, tathā kariṣyāmi' iti cintayan mahākaruṇāṃ bodhicittābhimukhīṃ kurvita| tato viśramya punarapi tathaiva sarvadharmanirābhāsaṃ samādhimavataret| citte'tikhede sati, tathaiva viśramet| ayaṃ tu śamathavipaśyanāyuganaddhapravṛttimārgaḥ savikalpanirvikalpapratibimbam ālambate|



evaṃ yogī anena krameṇa ghaṭikām ardhapraharam ekapraharaṃ vā yāvatkālecchāparyantaṃ tattvaṃ bhāvayan tiṣṭhet| idaṃ tvarthapravicayadhyānam āryalaṅkāvatāre nirdiṣṭam| tata icchayā samādherutthātuṃ paryaṅkam abhittvaivam anuvicintayet, amī dharmāḥ sarve paramārthataḥ niḥsvabhāvāḥ santo'pi saṃvṛtau vyavasthitā eva| tathā'sati karmaphalasambandhādayaḥ kathaṃ vyavasthitāḥ syuḥ ? bhagavatā coktam-



"bhāvā vidyanti saṃvṛtyā paramārthe na bhāvakāḥ|" ityuktam|



amī bālabuddhayo niḥsvabhāvavastuṣu bhāvādisamāropeṇa viparyastabuddhayo bhavanti| cirakālaṃ saṃsāracakre paribhramanti, tato'haṃ kariṣyāmi anuttarapuṇyajñānasambhāraṃ paripūrya, tataḥ sarvajñapadaṃ prāpya tān dharmatām avabodhayeyam| evaṃ vicintayet| atha śanaiḥ paryaṅkaṃ bhittvā daśadigvyavasthitān sarvabuddhobodhisattvān praṇipatya tebhyaśca pūjāstotropahāraṃ kṛtvāryabhadracaryādimahāpraṇidhānaṃ praṇidadhīta| tataḥ śūnyatākaruṇāgarbhasakaladānādipuṇyasaṃbhāropārjane'bhiyogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ|



tathā ca sati taddhyānasarvākāravaropetaśunyatābhinirhāraḥ syāt| āryaratnacūḍe yathoktam-"sa maitrīvarmasaṃnaddho mahākaruṇāsthāne sthitvā sarvākāravaropetaśūnyatābhinirhāradhyānaṃ karoti| tatra sarvākāravaropetaśūnyatā katamā ? yā dānānapagati-śīlānapagati-kṣāntyanapagati-vīryānapagati-dhyānānapagati-prajñanāpagati-upāyānapagatītyādivistaroktiriti|" bodhisattvastu sarvasattvaparipākaṃ kurvīta| kṣetrakāyabahuparivārādisaṃpattiprādurbhāvopāyadānādikuśalaṃ cāvaśyaṃ seveta|



asati ca tathā buddhānām kṣetrādisaṃpattiryoktā sā kasya phalaṃ syāt| tasmāt sarvākāravaropetaṃ tatsarvajñajñānaṃ tu dānādyupāyena paripūryamāṇatvād bhagavān tat sarvajñajñānam upāyena paryantagatam ityavocat| tasmād bodhisattvena dānādyupāyo'pi sevitavyo na tu śūnyatā eva| āryasarvadharmavaipulye "yo'yaṃ maitreya ! ṣaṭpāramitāsamudāgamo bidhisattvānāṃ sambodhāya taṃ te mohapuruṣā evaṃ vakṣyanti, prajñāpāramitāyām evaṃ bodhisattvena śikṣitavyam, kiṃ śeṣābhiḥ pāramitābhiriti ucyante| te'nyāḥ pāramitā dūṣayitavyā maṃsyante| tat kiṃ manyase ajita! duṣprajñaḥ sa kāśirājo'bhūd yena kapotārthena śyenāya svamāṃsāni dattāni ? maitreya āha, no hīdaṃ bhagavan| bhagavān āha-yāni mayā maitreya ! bodhisattvacaryāṃ caratā ṣaṭpāramitā-pratisaṃyuktāni kuśalamūlānyupacitāni, apakṛtaṃ nu taiḥ kuśalamūlaiḥ ? maitreya āha no hīdaṃ bhagavan| bhagavān āha-tvaṃ tāvad ajita ! ṣaṣṭikalpāna dānāpāramitāyāṃ samudāgataḥ, ṣaṣṭikalpān śīlapāramitāyaṃ ṣaṣṭikalpān kṣāntipāramitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭikalpān viryapāramitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭikalpān dhyānapāramitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭikalpān prajñāpāramitāyāṃ samudāgataḥ| tat te mohapuruṣā evaṃ vakṣyanti| ekanayenaiva bodhiryaduta śūnyatānayeneti te caryāpariśuddhā bhavantītyādi|"



upāyarahite sati bodhisattvaḥ prajñayā eva tu śrāvakavat buddhakāryāṇi kartuṃ na śaknoti| upāyasanāthaśca samartho bhavati| āryaratnakūṭe yathoktam-"tadyathā kāśyapa ! amātyasaṃgṛhītā rājānaḥ sarvakāryāṇi kurvanti, evameva upāyakauśalyasaṃgṛhītā bodhisattvasya prajñā sarvabuddhakāryāṇi karoti|" iti| bodhisattvānāṃ mārgadṛṣṭerapyanyā tīrthikānāṃ śrāvakāṇāṃ ca mārgadṛṣṭirapyanyā| evaṃ tīrthikamārgadṛṣṭistu ātmādau viparyāsayuktatvāt sarveṇa sarvaḥ prajñārahito mārgaḥ| tasmāt te muktiṃ na prāpnuvanti|



śrāvakāṇāṃ tu mahākaruṇārahitatvād upāyāyukatā| tasmāt te ekāntanirvāṇaparāyaṇāḥ bhavanti| bodhisattvamārgastu prajñopāyayukto manyate| tasmāt te apratiṣṭhitanirvāṇaparāyaṇā bhavanti| bodhisattvānāṃ mārgastu prajñopāyayukto manyate| tasmāt te apratisṭhitanirvāṇaṃ prāpnuvanti| prajñābalena tu saṃsāre na patati, upāyabalena ca nirvāṇe na patati|



tasmād āryagayāśīrṣe-"dvāvimau bodhisattvānāṃ saṃkṣiptau mārgau| katamau dvau-yaduta prajñā copāyaśca| " ityākhyātam| āryaśrīparamādye'pi uktam- "prajñāpāramitā tu 'mātā' asti, upāyakauśalyaṃ ca 'pitā' asti|" āryavimalakīrtinirdeśasūtre'pi-"bodhisattvānāṃ kiṃ bandhanam ? kā ca muktiḥ ? anupāyena bhavagatiparigraho hi bodhisattvasya bandhanam| upāyena bhavagatigamanaṃ muktiḥ| prajñārahitabhāvagatiparigraho bodhisattvasya bandhanam| prajñayā bhavagatigamanaṃ tu muktiḥ| upāyena aparigṛhītā prajñā hi bandhanam| upāyena parigṛhitā prajñā muktiḥ| prajñayāparigṛhītopāyo bandhanam| prajñayā gṛhītopāyaḥ muktiḥ iti" vistarena uktam|



bodhisattvasya prajñāmātrasevanaṃ tu śrāvakeṣṭanirvāṇapatitatvād bandhanavad bhaviṣyati| apratiṣṭhitanirvāṇena muktirna bhaviṣyati| tasmādupāyarahitā prajñā tu bodhisattvānāṃ bandhanamityucyate| tasmād vāyupīḍitena agnisevanavad bodhisattvena viparyāsavāyumātraprahāṇatvāt sopyāprajñayā śūnyatā sevitavyā, na tu śrāvakavat sākṣātkaraṇīyā| yathā āryadaśadharmasūtre coktam-"kulaputra ! tadyathā yathā kaścinmanuṣyaḥ agniparicaryāṃ karoti, sa tadagnisatkāraṃ karoti, guruṃ karoti, kintu so'yamiti mayā so'gniḥ satkṛtya, gurūkṛtya mānitaśca iti kṛte'pi eṣa dvābhyāṃ hastābhyāṃ parigṛhītavya iti na cintayati| tat kasmāditi cet tannidhānne mayi kāyikaduḥkhaṃ cittadaurmanasyaṃ vā sambhāvyate iti cintanāt| tathaiva ca bodhisattve'pi nirvāṇāśayo'pyasti, nirvāṇa-pratyakṣaṃ na karoti| tat kasya hetoriti cet ? tannidhānād ahaṃ bodhiṃ nirvarteyam iti cintanād" iti|



kevalam upāyamātrasevane'pi bodhisattvaḥ pṛthagjanabhūmeranuttīrṇatvād atyavabaddha eva bhaviṣyati| tasmāt prajñāsahitamupāyaṃ seveta| evaṃ mantraparigṛhītaviṣavad bodhisattvakleśe'pi prajñāparigrahabalena bhāvite sati amṛtikatā| punaḥ svabhāvena abhyudayaphalaṃ dānādi yadasti tatra kimuta vaktavyam| āryaratnakuṭe coktaṃ yathā- "tadyathā'pi nāma kāśyapa ! mantrauṣadhaparigṛhītaṃ viṣaṃ na vinipātayati evameva bodhisattvānām kleśaḥ prajñāparigṛhitatvād api na śaknoti vinipātayitum iti|"



tasmād yena kāraṇena bodhisattva upāyabalena saṃsāramanutsṛjati tasmād nirvāṇe na patati| yasmāt prajñābalena sakalālambanaṃ prahīyate tasmāt saṃsāre na patati, tasmād apratiṣṭhitanirvāṇabuddhatvaṃ prāpyate| tasmād āryagaganagañje'pi uktam-"tatprajñānena hi sarvakleśāḥ parivarjyante| upāyajñānena hi sarvasattvā na parityajyante|" iti| āryasaṃdhinirmocane'pi-"ekāntasattvārthavimukhasya ekāntasaṃskārābhisaṃskāravimukhasya nānuttarā samyaksaṃbodhiruktā mayeti|" tasmād buddhatvaprātukāmena prajñopāyau ubhau sevitavyau|



tatra lokottaraprajñābhāvanāvasare, atisamāhitāvasare vā dānādyupāyasevanāsambhāvanāyāmapi tatra prayogatatpṛṣṭhalabdhaprajñayoḥ yo'pi bhavati, tadā upāyasevanaṃ bhavatyeva| tasmāt prajñāpāyau yugapat pravartete| punaraparaṃ bodhisattvānām ayaṃ hi prajñopāyayuganaddhavāhi mārgaḥ sarvasattvāvalokitamahākaruṇayā parigṛhītatvāt lokottaramārgaḥ sevyate, utthānopāyakāle'pi māyākāravad aviparyastameva dānādi sevyate| āryākṣayamatinirdeśe'pi yathoktam-"tatra ko hi bodhisattvopāyaḥ ? kaśca prajñābhinirhāra iti ? yataḥ samādhāne sattvāvalokitamahākaruṇāvalambane cittopasthāpanā sa eva upāyaḥ | yataḥ śāntipraśāntisamāpattiḥ sā tu tatprajñā " iti vistaraḥ| māradamanaparicchede'pi uktam-"punaraparaṃ bodhisattvānāṃ samutkarṣikaprayogastu prajñājñānena abhiyogaṃ karoti| upayajñānena sarvakuśaladharmasaṃgraho'pi prayujyate| prajñājñānena nairātmya-asattva-ajīva-apoṣa-apudgaleṣu ca prayujyate| upāyajñānena yaḥ sarvasattvaparipāko'pi prayojyaḥ" iti vistaraḥ| āryadharmasaṃgītisūtre'pi-



māyākāro yathā kaścinnirmitaṃ mokṣamudyataḥ|

na cāsya nirmite saṅgo jñātapūrvo yato'sya saḥ||

tribhavaṃ nirmitaprakhyaṃ jñātvā sambodhipāragaḥ|

saṃnahyate jagaddhetorjñātapūrva jagat tathā||iti|



bodhisattvanām prajñopāyavidhireva sādhyamadhikṛtya tatprayogasaṃsāre sthito'pi asti, āśayanirvāṇe sthito'pi syād ityuktam|



tādṛśyāṃ śūnyatāmahākaruṇāgarbhānuttarasamyaksaṃbuddhau pariṇatadānādyupāyabhāvanāṃ kṛtvā, paramārthabodhicittotpādārtha pūrvavat nityaṃ kāle kāle śamathavipaśyanāprayogo yathāśakti bhāvanīyaḥ| āryagocarapariśuddhisūtre-sarvāvasthāsu sattvārthakāribodhisattvānāmanuśaṃsā yathā nirdiṣṭā tathā saṃnihitasmṛtyā sarvadā upāayakauśalaṃ bhāvitavyam|



tādṛkkaruṇopāyabodhicittabhāvakaḥ sa iha janmani avaśyaṃ viśiṣṭo bhavati| tasmāt svapne nityaṃ buddhabodhisattvadarśanaṃ bhaviṣyati| susvapnāntarāṇyapi dṛśyante| devā api anumodanād rakṣāṃ kariṣyanti| pratikṣaṇamapi vipulapuṇyajñānasambhārasaṃcayo bhaviṣyati| kleśāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyamapi kṣīṇaṃ bhaviṣyati| sarvadaiva sukhasaumanasyamadhikaṃ bhaviṣyati| bahujanapriyo bhaviṣyati| śarīre'pi rogagrasto na bhaviṣyati| paramacittakarmaṇyatāpi prāptā bhaviṣyati| tasmād abhijñatādiviśiṣṭaguṇaprāptiḥ|



atha ṛddhibalena anantalokadhātūn gatvā bhagavato buddhān pūjayati| tebhyaḥ dharmo'pi śrūyate| maraṇasamaye'pi avaśyameva buddhabodhisattvadarśanaṃ bhaviṣyati| janmāntare'pi buddhabodhisattvānapagatadeśaviśiṣṭagṛhe cāpi janma bhaviṣyati| tasmād anāyāsapuṇyajñānasambhāraḥ paripūrayiṣyate| mahābhogo bahuparivāraśca bhaviṣyati| tīkṣṇaprajñayā bahujanaparipākamapi kariṣyanti| sarvajātiṣu jātismaraṇaṃ bhaviṣyati| tādṛśī aparimitānuśaṃsā sūtrāntareṣu saṃbhūtā avagantavyā|



tena tādṛkkaruṇopāyabodhicittāni ca nityam ādareṇa ciraṃbhavitāni kramaśaḥ cittasaṃtāne atipariśuddhakṣaṇotpādena paripākabhūtatvād araṇimanthanāgnivat samyagarthabhāvanāprakarṣaparyantaṃ gamanaṃ bhūtvā lokottarajñānasakalavikalpajālāpagamanaṃ niṣprapañcadharmadhātuprasphuṭāvagati, nirmalaniścalanirvātasthitapradīpavat niścalapramāṇabhūtaḥ, sarvadharmanairātmyasvabhāvaḥ tattvasākṣātkārī, darśanamārgasaṃgṛhītaḥ paramārthabodhicittasvabhāva utpadyate| tadutpādād vastuparyantatālambane praviṣṭaḥ| tathāgatagotre utpadyate, bodhisattvānapakṣālapravṛttiḥ, lokasarvagatinivṛttiḥ, bodhisattvadharmatādharmadhātvavabodhasthitiḥ, prāptabodhisattvaprathamabhūmiḥ ityanuśaṃsā tadvistaraḥ daśabhūmyādiṣu avagantavyaḥ| idaṃ tathatālambanadhyānam āryalaṅkāvatāre nirdiṣṭam| idaṃ tu bodhisattvānām niṣprapañcanirvikalpatāyāmeva praviśati|



adhimuktibhūmau tu adhimuktivaśāt pravṛttirvyavasthāpitā na tu abhisaṃskāreṇa| tajjñānaprādurbhāve tu sākṣāt praveśaḥ| tathā prathamabhūmipraveśaḥ tadanantaraṃ bhāvanāmārge lokottareṇa tatpṛṣṭhalabdhajñānena dvābhyāṃ ca prajñopāyabhāvanākrameṇa bhāvanāpraheyasaṃcitāvaraṇasya sūkṣmasūkṣmataravyavadānād uttarottaraviśiṣṭaguṇaprāptaye adhobhūmipariśodhanena tathāgatajñānaparyantaṃ praviśya, sarvajñatāsāgaram avatīrya, kāryapariniṣpattyālambanamapi prāpnoti| evaṃ krameṇa eva cittasaṃtānapariśuddhiḥ āryalaṅkāvatāre'pi uktā| āryasaṃdhinirvocane'pi yathoktam-"krameṇottarottarabhūmisu suvarṇavat cittaṃ vyavadāya, anuttarasaṃyaksaṃbodhiparyantam abhisaṃbudhyati" iti|



sarvajñatāsāgarapraveśe sati cintamaṇivat sakalasattvopajīviguṇaskandhayuktaḥ pūrvapraṇīdhānaphalasatkṛtaḥ, mahākaruṇāsvabhāvabhūtaḥ, anābhoganānopayayuktaḥ, aparimitanirmāṇairaśeṣajagatsarvārthākaraḥ kṛtaḥ| aśeṣaguṇasaṃpattiprakarṣaparyantabhutaḥ, savāsanādoṣaṃ sakalamalaṃ nirākṛtya, sattvadhātvantaparyantavihārī, iti prekṣāvān bhagavati buddhe sakalaguṇākare śraddhām utpādya tadguṇapariniṣpattyarthaṃ svayaṃ sarvān prayatnān kuryāt| tasmād bhagavatā evamuktam-"tadetat sarvajñajñānaṃ karuṇāmūlaṃ bodhicittahetukam upāyaparyavasānam" iti|



dūrīkṛterṣyādimalā hi santo guṇairatṛptāḥ salilairivābdhiḥ|

vivecya gṛṇhanti subhāṣitāni haṃsāḥ payo yatpayāṃsi prahṛṣṭāḥ||

pakṣapātākulaṃ tasmād dūrīkṛtaṃ mano budhaiḥ|

sarvameva grahītavyaṃ bālādapi subhāṣitam||

prakāśya yat prāpi mayā śubham asamapaddhitam|

puṇyamastu janastena prāpto madhyamapaddhitam||



ācāryakamalaśīlena madhye nibaddho bhāvanākramaḥ samāptaḥ|

bharatīyopādhyāyena prajñāvarmaṇā mahālokacakṣuṣā vandyajñānasenena

cānūdya sunirṇitaḥ|
