[mahāyānasūtrāṇāṃ ya ādikarmikasya caryāniyamaḥ|

tamadhikṛtya saṃkṣepād bhāvanākramastvabhidhīyate||



acireṇa sarvajñatāṃ prāptukāmaiḥ saṃkṣepataḥ karuṇā, bodhicittam, pratipattiśceti triṣu sthāneṣu prayatitavyam|



buddhatvasya aśeṣadharmahetumūlaṃ karuṇaiveti jñātvā sā''dāveva bhāvayitavyā| yathoktam āryadharmasaṃgītisūtre-"atha khalvavalokiteśvaro bodhisattvo mahasattvo bhagavantametadavocat-na bhagavan bodhisattvena atibahuṣu dharmeṣu śikṣitavyam| eko dharmo bhagavan bodhisattvena svārādhitaḥ supratividdhaḥ kartavyaḥ| tasya sarvabuddhadharmāḥ karatalagatā bhavanti| katama ekadharmaḥ ? yaduta mahākaruṇā| mahākaruṇayā bhagavan bodhisattvānāṃ sarvabuddhadharmāḥ karatalagatā bhavanti| tadyathā bhagavan yena rājñaścakravartina-ścakraratnaṃ gacchati tena sarvo balakāyo gacchati, evameva bhagavan yena bodhisattvasya mahākaruṇa gacchati, tena sarve buddhadharmā gacchanti| tadyathā bhagavan jīvitendriye sati anyeṣāmindriyāṇāṃ pravṛttirbhavati, evameva bhagavan mahākaruṇāyāṃ satyāmanyeṣāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ] dharmāṇāṃ pravṛttirbhavati|" iti|



āryākṣayamatinirdeśe coktam-"punaraparam, bhadanta śāradvatīputra, bodhisattvānāṃ mahākaruṇāpyakṣayā| tat kasya hetoḥ ? pūrvaṅgamatvāt| tadyathāpi nāma, bhadanta śāradvatīputra, āśvāsāḥ [praśvāsāḥ] puruṣasya jīvitendriyasya pūrvaṅgamāḥ, evameva mahāyāna-sambhāra-samudāgamāya bodhisattvasya mahākaruṇā pūrvaṅgamā" iti vistaraḥ| āryagayāśīrṣe coktam-"kimārambhā, mañjuśrīḥ, bodhisattvānāṃ caryā, kimadhiṣṭhānā ca ? mañjuśrīrāha-mahākaruṇārambhā, devaputra, bodhisattvānāṃ caryā sattvādhiṣṭhānā|" iti vistaraḥ|



tathā hi tayā preryamāṇā bodhisattvāḥ svātmanirapekṣā ekāntena paropakārārthatayā atiduṣkaradīrghakālike'pi sambhāropārjanapariśrame pravartante| tathā coktam āryaśraddhābalādhāne-"tatra [mahā] karuṇayāpi sarvasattvaparipācanārthaṃ na tat kiñcit sukhopādhānaṃ yanna parityajati|" iti| ato'tiduṣkare pravartamāno nacireṇaiva sambhārān paripūryāvaśyameva sarvajñapadam adhigacchati| tato buddhadharmāṇāṃ karuṇaiva mūlam| mahākaruṇāparigrahādeva buddhā bhagavanto'dhigamya sarvajñapadam aśeṣasya jagato'rtha vikurvāṇāstiṣṭhanta iti nirvāṇāpratiṣṭhāne saiva bhagavatāṃ mahākaruṇā hetuḥ|



sā ca duḥkhitasattvālambanamanaskārabahulīkārato vṛddhim (upayāti)| sarve ca te sattvāstridhātukāvacarāstrividhaduḥkhatayā yathoyogam atyanta duḥkhitā eveti sarveṣveva sattveṣu bhāvanīyam| tathā ca ye tāvannārakāste vividhacirantanadīrghakālikadāhādiduḥkha [nadīṣu] nimagnā eva bhagavatā varṇitāḥ| tathā pretā api duḥsahatīvrakṣuttṛṣādiduḥkha[agni] pīḍābhisaṃśoṣitamūrtayastīvraduḥkham anubhavanti| yena varṣaśatenāpyaśuciṃ kheṭapiṇḍanaṃ ca bhoktuṃ na labhanta ityādi varṇitaṃ bhagavatā| tiryañco'pi paraspara [bhakṣaṇa] krodhavadhahiṃsādibhiranekavidhaṃ duḥkhamanubhavanto dṛśyanta eva| tathā hi kecinnāsikābhedanatāḍāṇabandhanādibhiratantrīkṛtaśarīrāḥ paritaḥ paripīḍayamānāḥ kathamapyanicchanto'pi atidurvahagurubhārodvahanaparikhinnavapuṣaḥ pariklāmyanti, tathāraṇye'pi nivasanto'naparādhāḥ kecit kvacit [artha] to'nviṣya hanyante| nityaṃ ca bhayavivhalamānasastatastataḥ palāyamānāstiṣṭhantītyaparimitam eṣāṃ duḥkhaṃ dṛśyatta eva| tathā mānuṣye'pi nārakaṃ duḥkhaṃ dṛśyata eva| atra ye caurādayo'ṅgacchedaśūlārpaṇodbandhanādibhiḥ kāryanta eva teṣāṃ nārakameva duḥkham| ye ca dāridrayadyupahatāsteṣāṃ pretānāmiva tatkṣuttarṣāḍibhirduḥkham| ye ca bhṛtyādayaḥ parāyattīkṛtātmabhāvāḥ, ye ca balibhirākramya pīḍayante teṣāṃ tiraścāmiva tāḍanāvarodhanādi duḥkham| tathā paryeṣṭikṛtam anyo'nyadrohopaghātādi kṛtaṃ priyaviprayogāpriyasaṃyogakṛtaṃ cāprameyameṣāṃ duḥkham| ye kvacid īśvarāḥ sukhitā iva lapyante te'pi viparyavasānasampado vividhakudṛṣṭigahananimagnā nārakādiduḥkhānubhavahetuvividha kleśakarmāṇyupacinvantaḥ prapātasthāstarava iva duḥkhahetau [api] vartamānāḥ paramārthato duḥkhitā eva|



devā api ye tāvat kāmāvacarāste'pi tīvrakāmāgnisandīptamānasā ākṣiptacittā ivāsvacchacetasaḥ kṣaṇamapi samādhānaṃ cetasāṃ na labhante| teṣāṃ praśamasukhadhanadaridrāṇāṃ kīdṛśaṃ nāma tat sukham ? nityacyavanapatanādibhayaśokopahatāḥ kathaṃ sukhitā nāma ? ye ca rūpārūpāvacarāste'pi yadi nāma kiyatkālaṃ duḥkhaduḥkhatāṃ vyatītāstathāpyatyantaṃ kāmāvacarāṇām anuśayānām aprahāṇāt teṣāṃ punarapi nārakādivinipātasambhavād vipariṇāmaduḥkham astyeva| sarve nāma devamanuṣyāḥ kleśakarmādipāratantryāt te saṃskāraduḥkhatayā duḥkhitā eva|



tadevaṃ sakalameva jagad duḥkhagnijvālāvalīḍham ityavetya yathā mama duḥkhamapriyaṃ tathānyeṣāmapriyamiti cintayatā sarveṣveva sattveṣu kṛpā bhāvanīyā| prathamaṃ tāvad mitrapakṣeṣu pūrvoktā vividhaduḥkhānubhaveṣvanupaśyatā bhāvanīyā|



tataḥ sattvasamatayā viśeṣamapaśyatā'nādimati ca saṃsāre na kaścit sattvo yo na me śataśo bandhurabhūditi paricintayatā vyasteṣu bhāvanīyā| yadā mitrapakṣeṣviva vyasteṣu [api] tulyā karuṇā pravṛttā bhavati, tadā śatrupakṣe'pi tathaiva sattvasamatādimanasikāreṇa bhāvanīyā| yadā ca śatrupakṣe'pi mitrapakṣavat samapravṛttā bhavati, tadā kramaśo daśasu dikṣu sarvasattveṣu [api] bhāvayet| yadā ca duḥkhitabālapriyeṣviva duḥkhoddharaṇecchākārā svarasavāhinī sarvasattveṣu samapravṛttā kṛpā bhavati, tadā sā niṣpannā bhavati mahākaruṇāvyapadeśaṃ ca labhate| yathā akṣayamatisūtre ca varṇitam| ayaṃ ca kṛpābhāvanākramo bhagavatā'bhidharmasūtrādau varṇitaḥ|



tasyaivaṃ kṛpābhyāsabalāt sakalasattvābhyuddharaṇapratijñayānuttarasamyaksambodhiprārthanākāram ayatnata eva bodhicittamutpadyate| yathoktam āryadaśadharmasūtre-"sattvān atrāṇān aśaraṇān advīpān dṛṣṭvā karuṇāyai cittamupasthāpya yāvadanuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau cittamutpādayati" iti| yadi nāma parasamādāpanādināpi bodhisattvasya mahāsattvasya bodhicittamutpadyate, tathāpi kṛpāvegato yat svayameva bodhisattvasya bodhicittamutpadyate tad bhagavatā āryatathāgatajñānamudrāsamādhau viśiṣṭataratvena varṇitam|



tadetad bnodhicittaṃ pratipattivikalamapi saṃsāre mahāphalaṃ bhagavatā varṇitam| tathā coktaṃ maitreyavimokṣe-"tad yathāpi nāma, kulaputra, bhinnamapi vajraratnaṃ sarvam ativiśiṣṭaṃ suvarṇālaṅkāramabhibhavati, vajraratnanāma ca na vijahāti, sarvadāridrayaṃ ca vinivartayati| evameva, kulaputra, pratipattibhinnamapi sarvajñatācittotpādavajraratnaṃ sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhaguṇasuvarṇālaṅkāram abhibhavati| bodhicittanāma na vijahāti, saṃsārādāridrayaṃ ca vinivartayati" iti|



yo'pi pāramitāsu sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā śikṣitum asamarthaḥ, tenāpi bodhicittam utpādanīyameva, upāyaparigraheṇa mahāphalatvāt| yathā coktam āryarājāvavādakasūtre-“yāsmāt tvaṃ mahārāja, bahukṛtyo bahukaraṇiyaḥ, asahaḥ sarveṇa sarvaṃ sarvathā dānapāramitāyāṃ śikṣitum, yāvat prajñāpāramitāyāṃ śikṣitum| tasmāttarhi tvaṃ mahārāja evameva sambodhau chandaṃ śraddhāṃ prārthanāṃ praṇidhiṃ ca, gacchannapi tiṣṭhannapi niṣaṇṇo'pi śayāno'pi jāgradapi bhuñjāno'pi pibannapi, satatasamitam anusmara, manasikuru bhāvaya| sarvabuddhabodhisattvārya śrāvakapratyekabuddhapṛthagjanānām ātmanaśca atītānāgatapratyutpannāni kuśalamūlāni piṇḍayitvā, anumodasva agrayā anumodanayā| anumodya ca sarvabuddhabodhisattvapratyekabuddhāryaśrāvakāṇāṃ pūjākarmāṇi niryātaya| niryātya ca sarvasattvasādhāraṇāni kuru| tataḥ sarvasattvānāṃ yāvat sarvajñatāpratilambhāya sarvabuddhadharmaparipūraṇāya dine traikālyam anuttarāyāṃ samyaksaṃbodhau pariṇāmaya| evaṃ khalu tvaṃ mahārāja, pratipanna, san rājyaṃ ca kārayiṣyasi, rājyakṛtyāni ca na hāpayisyasi, [bodhisambhārāṃśca paripūrayiṣyāsi]"| ityādi kamuktvāha-“atha khalu punastvaṃ mahārāja, samyaksambodhicittakuśalamūlavipākena anekakṛtyo deveṣu upapanno'bhūḥ| anekakṛtyo manuṣyeṣu upapanno'bhūḥ| sarvāsu ca devamanuṣyopapattiṣu ādhipatyaṃ kārayiṣyasi"| iti vistaraḥ|



yat punaḥ pratipattisāraṃ bodhicittaṃ tad atitarāṃ vipulaṃ phalam iti siddhim| ata eva āryavīradattaparipṛcchāyām uktam-



bodhicittād vai yat puṇyaṃ tacca rūpi bhaved yadi|

ākāśadhātuṃ sampūrya bhūyaścottaritaṃ bhavet||

gaṅgābālukasaṃkhyāni buddhakṣetrāṇi yo naraḥ|

dadyād ratnaprapūrṇāni lokanāthebhya eva hi||

yaścaikaḥ prāñjalirbhūtvā cittaṃ bodhāya nāmati|

iyaṃ viśiṣyate pūjā yasyā anto na vidyate||iti|



yathā āryagaṇḍavyūhe varṇitam-"bodhicittaṃ kulaputra ! bījabhūtaṃ sarvabuddhadharmāṇām" iti vistaraḥ| tacca bodhicittaṃ dvividhaṃ praṇīdhicittaṃ prasthānacittaṃ ca| āryagaṇḍavyūhe varṇitam, tathā-"rdurlabhāste, kulaputra, sattvāḥ sattvaloke ye'nuttarāyāṃ samyaksambodhau praṇidadhati iti| tato'pi durlabhatamāste sattvā ye'nuttarāṃ samyaksambodhim abhisamprasthitāḥ" iti| sakalajagato hitāya buddho bhaveyamiti prathamataraṃ prārthanākārā cetanā tatpraṇidhicittam| yataḥ prabhṛti saṃvaragrahaṇe vartamānāḥ sambhāreṣu dṛśyante tatprasthānacittam|



saṃvaraśca vijñātapratibalasaṃvarasthitāt kalyāṇamitrāt parato grāhyaḥ| asati pratirūpe grāhake buddhabodhisattvān āmukhīkṛtya yathā mañjuśrīyā'mbararājabhūtena bodhicittamutpāditaṃ tathotpādanīyaḥ|



evamutpāditabodhicitto bodhisattvaḥ svayameva dānādi dadāti pratipattau prayokṣyate, na hi svayamadāntaḥ parān damayatīti mattvā| na cāpi vinā pratipattyā bodhiravāpyate| yathoktam āryagayāśīrṣe-"pratipattisārāṇāṃ bodhisattvānāṃ bodhirnāpratipattisārāṇām" iti| āryasamādhirāje coktam-"tasmāt pratipattisāro bhaviṣyāmi ityevaṃ tvayā kumāra, śikṣitavyam| tat kasya hetoḥ ? pratipattisārasya hi, kumāra, na durlabhā bhavatyanutarā samyaksaṃbodhiḥ" iti|



sā ca pratipattirbodhisattvasya pāramitā'pramāṇasaṅgrahavastvādibhedena akṣayamatiratnameghādisūtreṣu vistareṇa varṇitā| tathā laukikaśilpādisthāneṣvapi yāvad bodhisattvena śikṣitavyam| kiṃ punarlokottareṣu dhyānādiṣu| anyathā kathaṃ sarvākāraṃ sattvārthaṃ kuryuḥ| sā ceyaṃ saṃkṣepeṇa bodhiattvasya prajñopāyarūpā pratipattirna prajñāmātraṃ nopāyamātram| yathā āryavimalakirtinirdeśe-"prajñārahita upāya upāyarahitā ca prajñā bodhisattvānāṃ bandhanam" ityuktam| upāyasahitā prajñā prajñāsahitā upāyo mokṣatvena varṇitaḥ| āryagayāśīrṣe coktam-"dvāvimau bodhisattvānāṃ saṃkṣiptau mārgau| dvābhyāṃ mārgābhyāṃ samanvāgatā bodhisattvā mahāsattvāḥ kṣipra manuttarāṃ samyaksaṃbodhim abhisambhotsyante| katamau dvau, upāyaśca prajñā ca|" iti|



tatra prajñāpāramitāṃ tyaktvā dānādipāramitāsaṅgrahavastvādikaṃ sarvameva kṣetrapariśuddhimahābhoga[bahu] parivārasampatsattvaparipākanirmāṇādikasakalābhyudayadharmasaṅgrāhakaṃ kuśalam upāya ucyante| prajñā tu tasyaiva copāyasyāviparītasvabhāvaparicchedahetuḥ| tayā hi samyagupāyaṃ vivicyā'viparyasto yathāvat svaparārthānuṣṭhānād viṣamiva mantraparigṛhītaṃ bhuñjāno na saṃkliśyate| tathā coktamatraiva sutre-"upāyaḥ saṅgrahajñānam prajñā paricchedajñānam|" iti| āryaśraddhābalādhāne coktam-"upāyakauśalaṃ katamam ? yat saṅgrahaḥ sarvadharmāṇāṃ| prajñā katamā ? yat sarvadharmāṇām asambhadena kauśalam" iti| etau prajñopāyau dvāvapi sarvakālameva sevanīyau bhūmipraviṣṭairapi na tu prajñāmātraṃ nopāyamātram| yataḥ sarvāsveva daśasu bhūmiṣu bodhisattvasya pāramitāsamudācāraḥ paṭhito dadhabhūmikādau "na ca pariśeṣāsu na samudācarati" iti vacanāt|



aṣṭamyāṃ ca bhūmau bodhisattvasya śāntavihāriṇo buddhairvyuttthānaṃ tad virudhyeta| tacca tatastatra pāṭhād avagantavyam| [tathā coktaṃ tatraiva sūtre] "tasya khalu bho jinaputra, bodhisattvasya evamimāmacalāṃ bodhisattvabhūmimanugatasya pūrvapraṇidhānabalādhānasthitasya buddhā bhagavantastasmin dharmamukhastrotasi tathāgatajñānopasaṃhāraṃ kurvanti| evaṃ caina bruvanti-sādhu sādhu kulaputra| eṣā paramārthakṣāntirbuddhadharmānugamāya| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, yā asmākaṃ daśabalacaturvaiśāradyabuddhadharmasamṛddiḥ, sā tava nāsti| tasyā buddhadharmasamṛddheḥ paryeṣaṇāya abhiyogaṃ kuru, vīryamārabhasva| etadeva kṣāntimukhaṃ monmokṣīḥ| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, kiṃ cāpi tvayaivaṃ śāntavimokṣavihāro'nuprāptaḥ, imān punaraśāntānapraśāntān bālapṛthagjanān nānākleśasamudācāraprāptān vividhavitarkopahatamānasān samanvāhara, apekṣasva| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, pūrvapraṇidhānamanusmara sattvārthasaṃprāpaṇaṃ jñānamukhācintyatāṃ ca| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, eṣā sarvadharmāṇāṃ dharmatā| utpādādvā tathāgatānāmanutpādādvā sthitaivaiṣā dharmatā dharmadhātusthitiḥ yadidaṃ sarvadharmaśūnyatā sarvadharmānupalabdhiḥ| naitayā tathāgatā eva kevalaṃ prabhāvyante, sarvaśrāvakapratyekabuddhā api hyetāmavikalpadharmatāmanuprāpnuvanti|



api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, prekṣasva tāvat tvamasmākaṃ kāyāpramāṇatāṃ ca jñānāpramāṇatāṃ ca buddhakṣetrāpramāṇatāṃ ca jñānābhinirhārāpramāṇatāṃ ca prabhāmaṇḍalāpramāṇatāṃ ca svarāṅgaviśuddhayapramāṇatāṃ ca| tathaiva tvamapyabhinirhāramutpādaya| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, ekastveṣa āloko yo'yaṃ sarvadharmānirvikalpālokaḥ| īdṛśāstu kulaputra, dharmālokāstathāgatānāmaparyantagatā aparyantakṛtā aparyantabaddhāḥ, yeṣāṃ saṃkhyā nāsti, gaṇanā, pramāṇamupaniṣadaupamyaṃ nāsti, tesāmadhigamāya abhinirhāramutpādaya| api tu khalu punaḥ kulaputra, prekṣasva tāvad daśasu dikṣu apramāṇakṣetratāṃ ca apramāṇasattvatāṃ ca apramāṇadharmavibhaktitāṃ ca| tatsarvamanugaṇaya| yathāvattayā abhinirhāramutpādaya| "iti hi bho jinaputra, te buddhā bhagavanta evaṃ bhūmyanugatasya bodhisattvasya evaṃ pramukhānyaprameyāṇyasaṃkhyeyāni jñānābhinirhāramukhānyupasaṃharanti, yairjñānābhinirhāramukhairbodhisattvo'pramāṇajñānavibhaktito'bhinirhārakarmābhiniṣpadayati|' ārocayāmi te bho jinaputra, prativedayāmi| te ced buddhā bhagavantastaṃ bodhisattvamevaṃ sarvajñajñānābhinirhāramukheṣu nāvatārayeyustadevāsya parinirvāṇaṃ bhavetsarvasattvakāryapratiprasrabdhiśca|" iti vistaraḥ|



yacca āryavimalakīrtinirdeśe gayāśīrṣe coktaṃ tadapi pūrvoktaṃ virudhyate, evaṃ sāmānyenaiva tatrābhidhānāt| yat sarvadharmasaṅgrahavaipulye coktaṃ tadapi virudhyate| eva| tatroktam-"sūkṣmaṃ hi mañjuśrīḥ, saddharmapratikṣepakarmāvaraṇam| yo hi kaścinmañjuśrīḥ, tathāgatabhāṣite dharma ekasmin śobhanasaṃjñām utpādayati| ekasminnaśobhasaṃjñām utpādayati| sa saddharmaṃ pratikṣipati| tena saddharmaṃ pratikṣipatā tathāgato'bhyākhyāto bhavati" iti vistaram uktvā āha-"yo'yaṃ maitreya, ṣaṭpāramitāsamudāgamo bodhisattvānāṃ bodhāya taṃ te mohapuruṣā evaṃ vakṣyanti| prajñāpāramitāyāmeva bodhisattvena śikṣitavyam, kiṃ śeṣābhiḥ pāramitābhiriti| te'nyā mupāyapāramitāṃ dūṣayitavyāṃ manyante| tat kiṃ manyase, ajita ! duṣprajñaḥ sa kāśirājo'bhūd yena kapotārtha śyenāya svamāṃsāni dattāni ? maitreya āha, no hīdam, bhagavan| bhagavānāha-yāni mayā maitreya, bodhisattvacaryāṃ caratā ṣaṭpāramitāsaṃyuktāni kuśalamūlānyupacitāni| apakṛtaṃ nu taiḥ kuśalamūlaiḥ ? maitreya āha-no hīdaṃ bhagavan| bhagavān āha, tvaṃ tāvad ajita, dānāpāramitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭiṃ kalpān samudāgataḥ| yāvat prajñāpāramitāyāṃ ṣaṣṭiṃ kalpān samudāgataḥ, tat te mohapuruṣā evaṃ vakṣyanti-ekanayenaiva bodhiryaduta śūnyatānayena" iti vistaraḥ| vairocanābhisambodhau coktam-'tadetat sarvajñajñānaṃ karuṇāmūlaṃ bodhicittahetukam upāyaparyavasānam" iti| tasmādubhayaṃ sarvakālameva bodhisattvena sevanīyam|



evaṃ hi bhagavatām apratiṣṭhitanirvāṇaṃ sidhyati| tathā hi dānāderūpāyasya rūpakāyakṣetraparivārādimahābhogatāphalasampatparigrahād bhagavatāṃ na nirvāṇe'vasthānam| prajñayā ca sakalaviparyāsaprahāṇād na saṃsāre'vasthānaṃ viparyāsamūlatvāt saṃsārasya| anyā ca prajñopāyasvarūpayā pratipadā samāropāpavādāntavivarjanena madhyamā pratipad udbhāvitā| prajñayā samāropāntasya varjanād upāyenāpavādāntasya varjanāt| ata eva āryadharmasaṅgītāvuktam-"lakṣaṇānuvyañjanarūpakāyapariniṣpādanābhirataśca bhavati, na dharmakāyābhisamayamātrābhirataḥ" iti| punaruktam-"prajñopāyajanitastathāgatānāṃ parapratyayataḥ saṃbhavo'nugantavyaḥ" iti|



yat punaruktam-"kolopamaṃ dharmaparyāyam ājānadbhirdharmā eva prahātavyāḥ, prāg evādharmāḥ" iti| tad viparītābhiniveśaprahāṇataḥ prahātavyā ityabhiprāyāduktam, na tu prayojanasampadanārthamapi nāśrayaṇiyam| tathā coktam-"dharmaḥ pragrahītavyo nodgrahītavyaḥ" iti| nonmārgeṇa pragrahītavya ityarthaḥ| yaccāpi kvacid dānādi sāṃsārikaphalatvena varṇitaṃ tat prajñārahitānāṃ dānādīnāṃ pūrvam uktaṃ tāvanmātrakuśalamūlasantuṣṭāṃścādhikṛtyottara kuśalamūle protsāhanārtham| anyathā [ārya-] vimalakīrtinīrdeśaḥ [ādi pūrvoktaḥ] sarva eva virudhyate| tasmāttu dvāvapi prajñopāyau sevanīyāviti sthitam|



tatra prajñāparigṛhītā dānādayaḥ pāramitāvyapadeśaṃ labhante nānyatheti| ato dānadipariśuddhaye samādhānam āsthāya prajñopādānārthaṃ yatnaṃ kurvīta|



tatra prathamaṃ tāvat śrutamayī prajñotpādanīyā| tayā hi tāvad āgamārtham avadhārayati| tataścintāmayyā prajñayānītaneyārthaṃ nirvedhayati| tatastayā niścitya bhūtamarthaṃ bhāvayennābhūtam| anyathā hi viparītasyāpi bhavānād vicikitsāyāścāvyapagamāt samyagjñānodayo na syāt| tataśca vyarthaiva bhāvanā syāt| yathā tīrtīkānām| uktaṃ ca bhagavatā samādhirāje-



nairātmyadharmān yadi pratyavekṣate

tān pratyavekṣya yadi bhāvayet|

sa heturnirvāṇaphalasya prāptaye

yo anyaheturna sa bhoti śāntaye|| iti|



tasmāccintāmayyā prajñayā yuktayāgamābhyāṃ pratyavekṣya bhūtameva vastusvarūpaṃ bhāvanīyam| vastūnāṃ svarūpaṃ ca paramārthato'nutpāda evāgamato yuktitaśca niścitam|



tatrāgamato yathoktam āryadharmasaṅgītau-"anutpādaḥ satyamasatyam anye dharmāḥ" iti| etacca paramārthānukūlatvād anutpādaḥ satyamityuktam| paramārthatastu notpādo nāpyanutpādaḥ, tasy sarvyavahārātītatvāt| punaścātraiva coktam-"utpādanirodhābhiniviṣṭaḥ kulaputra, lokasanniveśaḥ, tasmāt tathāgato mahākāruṇiko lokasyottrāsapadaparihārāthaṃ vyavahāravaśād uktavān, utpadyate nirudhyate ceti na cātra kasyacid dharmasyotpādaḥ" iti| aryabuddhasaṅgītau coktam-"katamā yoniśaḥ pṛcchā, katamā yoniḥ ? āha anutpādo yoniḥ, tasya pṛcchā yoniśaḥ pṛccha"| punaratraivoktam-"cakāramukhaḥ sarvadharmāścyutyutpattivigatāḥ| abhāvamukhāḥ sarvadharmāḥ, svabhāvaśūnyatām upādāya" iti| āryasatyadvayavibhāge cānutpādasamatayā sarvadharmāṇāṃ samatā bhavati| prajñāpāramitāyāṃ coktam-"rūpaṃ subhūte, rūpasvabhāvena śūnyam, yāvad vijñānaṃ vijñānasvabhāvena śūnyamiti svalakṣaṇaśūnyatām upādāya" iti| hastikakṣye coktam-



na kaścillabhyate bhāvo yasyotpādasya saṃbhavaḥ|

asaṃbhaveṣu dharmeṣu bālaḥ sambhavamicchati|| iti|



pitāputrasamāgame coktam-"sarva ete dharmāḥ sarve samāstraikālyasamatayā| atīte'dhvani sarvadharmāḥ svabhāvarahitā yāvat pratyutpanne'dhvani" iti| evaṃ tavad āgamataḥ pratyavekṣaṇīyam| yuktyā hi sthirīkṛtasyā-gamārthasyānyairapohitam aśakyatvāt| ato yuktyāpi pratyavekṣanīyam|



tatra saṃkṣepato yuktirucyate| utpādo bhāvānāmahetuko vā syāt sahetuko vā| na tāvad ahetukaḥ kādācitkatvadarśanāt| kāraṇānapekṣā hi viśeṣābhāvād utpādakālavat sadā sarvatraiva ca bhāvāḥ kiṃ na bhaveyuḥ| abhāvakālād aviśeṣād vā utpādakāle'pi naiva bhaveyuḥ| evaṃ tāvanna nirhetuko yuktaḥ| nāpi sahetukaḥ| tathā hi yastāvadīśvarādistīrthikairnityo hetuḥ kalpitastato bhāvā na jāyante krameṇotpādadarśanāt| na tvavikalakāraṇasya [phalasya] krameṇotpādo yukto nirapekṣatvāt| nāpīśvarādeḥ svayaṃ samarthasya parāpekṣāḥ| nityatvena parairanupakāryatvāt| anupakāriṇi cāpekṣā'yogāt| ata eveśvarādīnāṃ sarvasāmarthyaśūnyatvād vandhyāpūtrādivad niḥsvabhāvatvameva| arthakriyāsamarthatvād vastunaḥ| teṣāṃ kvacidapi kārye na krameṇa sāmarthyaṃ yathā vicāritam| nāpi yaugapadyena, tathā hi sarvakāryaṃ sakṛd utpādyoktarakāle'pi yadyutpattisamartha evāsau tadā punarapi samarthasvabhāvānuvṛttau pūrvavat kāryotpattiprasaṅgaḥ| ananuvṛttau vā pūrvasvabhāvaparityāgād anityatvaprasaṅgaḥ|



tasmānna nityaṃ nāma kiñcid vastu vidyate| ata evoktaṃ bhagavatā-“asatsamāropaḥ punarmahāmate ! ākāśanirodhanirvāṇa [ādi] akṛtakabhāvābhiniveśasamāropaḥ" iti| tasmānna nityād eṣāmutpādo yuktaḥ| nāpyanityāttatrātītānāgatayoravastutvānn tāvattato janma yuktam ahetukatvaprasaṅgāt| nāpi vartamānāt, samānāsamānakālayostata utpādāyogāt| tathā hi na tāvat samānakālaṃ kāraṇaṃ svabhāvavat kāryasyāpi tatsamānakālabhāvitayā niṣpannatvāt| nāpi bhinnakālam, kālantaravyavadhānenotpāde'tītāderevotpattiprasaṅgāt| avyavadhānenāpyutpāde sarvātmānā yadyavyavadhāṇaṃ tadaikasminneva kṣaṇe sarvakṣaṇānām anupraveśāt kalpasya kṣaṇamātratāprasaṅgaḥ| yathā paramāṇoḥ sarvātmanā saṃyogo piṇḍasyāṇumātratāprasaṅgaḥ| athaikadeśaena, tadā kṣaṇasya sāvayavatvaprasaṅgaḥ| svato'pi notpadyante, nirhetukapakṣeṇaivāsya pakṣasya saṅgṛhītatvāt svātmani ca kāritravirodhāt| nāpyubhayataḥ ubhayapakṣabhāvidoṣadvaya [saṅgraha] prasaṅgāt|



tasmāt paramārthato'nutpannā evāmī bhāvāḥ| saṃvṛtyā tūtpādasya vidyamānatvānnāgamādivirodhaḥ| tathā coktaṃ bhagavatā-



bhāvā vidyanti saṃvṛtyā paramārthe na bhāvakāḥ|

niḥsvabhāveṣu yā bhrāntistatsatyaṃ saṃvṛtirbhavet||iti|



iyaṃ ca yuktirbhagavato'bhipretā śālistambādau| svataḥ parata ubhābhyām ahetośca janmaniṣedhāt|



athavā evaṃ yuktyā vicārayet| dvividhā bhāvā rūpiṇo'rūpiṇaśca| tatrāpi tāvad rūpiṇo ghatādayaste'ṇuśo vibhinnarūpatvād naikasvabhāvāḥ| aṇūnāṃ pūrvāparasthitānāṃ pūrvādidigbhāgatvena vibhidyamānānām asiddhāvapyaṇusaṃcayātmakatve nānekasvabhāvo yuktaḥ, na caikānekasvabhāvavyatirekeṇāparaḥ kaścid bhāvasvabhāvo'stīti niḥsvabhāvā evāmī paramārthataḥ svapnādyupalabdharūpādivad rūpiṇo bhavāḥ| etacca bhagavataiva coktam āryalaṅkāvatāre-"goviṣāṇāṃ punarmahāmate, aṇuśo'pi vibhidyamānaṃ nāvatiṣṭhate| punarapyaṇavo'pi bhidyamānā aṇutvalakṣaṇena nāvatiṣṭhante" iti|



ye cārupiṇaste'pi tathaiva vicāryumāṇā niḥsvabhāvā eva| tathāhi, bāhyasya nīlāderarthasyābhāvāt sāmarthyata eva vijñānādayo'rūpiṇaḥ skandhā nilādirūpeṇa pratibhāsanta ityabhyupeyam| uktaṃ ca bhagavatā-



“bahirdhā nāsti vairūpaṃ svacittaṃ dṛśyate bahiḥ|" iti|



tataśca nīlādicitrākāranirbhāsatayā grāhyagrāhakākāranirbhāsatayā naikasvabhāvā amī yuktāḥ| na caikasyānekarūpatā yuktimatī, ekānekavirodhāt| ekasya kasyacit svabhāvasyāsiddhāvanekarūpatā'pyayuktimatī, ekasamūharūpatvād anekasya|



athavā tatrālīkā evāmī rūpādaya ākārāḥ pratibhāsanta ityubyupagamyate, tadā vijñānam apyalīkaṃ prāpnoti| vijñānasya tatsvarūpāvyatirekāt| na hi svayaṃ prakāśamānarūpatāvyatirekeṇānyad vijñānasya rūpamasti| svayaṃ ca na nirbhāsante rūpādayaḥ| teṣāṃ ca vijñānasvarūpāpannānām alīkatve sarvameva vijñānam alīkam abhyupetaṃ syāt| tasmād "māyopamaṃ ca vijñānam" ityuktaṃ bhagavatā|



tasmād ekānekasvabhāvaśūnyatvena paramārthato'līkā evāmī sarvabhāvā iti niścitametat| ayaṃ cārtha ukto bhagavatā laṅkāvatāre-



yathaiva darpaṇe rūpam ekatvānyatvavarjitam|

dṛśyate na ca tatrāsti tathā bhāveṣu bhavatā||iti|



ekatvānyatvavarjitam iti, ekatvānyatvarahitam ityarthaḥ| punaścoktam-



buddhayā vivicyamānānāṃ svabhāvo nāvadhāryate|

ato nirabhilāpyaste niḥsvabhāvāśca darśitāḥ|| iti|



tadevaṃ cintāmayyā prajñayā niścitya bhūtamartha tasya pratyakṣīkaraṇāya bhāvanāmayīṃ prajñām utpādayet| "bahuśrutādimātrakeṇā nārthaḥ pratyakṣo bhavatīti niveditam āryaratnameghādiṣu| anubhavaśca pratipattṛṇām, na cāpi sphuṭatarajñānālokodayam antareṇa samyagāvaraṇatamo'pahīyate| bhāvanābahulīkārataścābhūte'pyarthe sphuṭarajñānam utpadyate| yathā aśubhādipṛthvīkṛtsnādisamāpannānāṃ [jñānodbhavatve] kimpunarbhūte| tathā ca bhāvanāyāḥ parisphuṭajñānaphalatvena sāphalyamuktam āryasamādhirāje-



ārocayāmi prativedayāmi vo

yathā yathā bahu ca vitarkayennaraḥ|

tathā tathā bhavati tannimittacitta-

stehi vitarkehi tanniśritehi || iti vistaraḥ|



tasmāt tattvaṃ sākṣātkartukāmo bhāvanāyāṃ pravartate|



tatra prathamataraṃ tāvad yoginā śamatho niṣpādanīyaścittasthirīkaraṇāya| salilavaccañcalatvāccittasya, na śamathamādhāramanteraṇa sthitirasti| na cāsamāhitena cetasā yathābhutaṃ śakyate jñātum| uktaṃ hi bhagavatā-"samāhitacitto yathābhūtaṃ prajānāti" iti| śamatho lābhādikāmanānirapekṣasya samyakpravṛttau sthirasya duḥkhādyadhivāsanaśilasyārabdhavīryasya śīghrataraṃ sampadyate| ata eva āryasaṃdhinirvocanādau dānādaya uttarottaratvena varṇitāḥ|



tadevaṃ śīlādiśamathasambhāreṣu sthito mano'nukūladeśe sarvabuddhabodhisattveṣu praṇāmādikaṃ kṛtvā pāpadeśanāṃ puṇyānumodanāṃ vidhāya sakalajagadabhyuddharaṇāśayo mahākaruṇām evābhimukhīkṛtya kāyam ṛjuṃ praṇidhāya sukhāsanopaviṣṭaḥ paryaṅkamābhujya samādhimabhiniṣpādayet|



tatra prathamaṃ tāvad yad vastu vicārayitavyaṃ yāvatā prakāreṇa saṅkṣepataḥ sakalavastusaṅgraho bhavati tatra cittaṃ badhnīyat| saṅkṣiptaṃ punarvastu rūpyarūpibhedena dvidha bhavati| etaccādikarmikasya vikṣepadoṣaparihārārtha saṃkṣiptaṃ tāvad yuktam ālambayitum| yadā tu jitamanaskāro bhavati tadā skandhadhātvādibhedena viśodhya vistaraśo'pyālambata eva| tathā sandhinirmocanādau yoginām aṣṭādaśaprakāraśūnyatālambanādibhedena nānāprakāram ālambanam uktam|



atraiva bhagavatā sattvānugrahād rūpyarūpyādibhedena saṃkṣepamadhyavistāraiḥ vastubhedo'bhidharmādau nirdiṣṭaḥ| tacca vastu adhyāropāpavādaparihārāya skandhadhātvādisaṅgrahato gaṇayet| tato niścitya sarvaṃ vastusaṅgrahaṃ tatraiva punaścittaṃ prabandhena prerayet|



yada tvantarā rāgādinā cittaṃ bahirvikṣipet tadāvagamya vikṣepatām aśubhādibhāvanayā vikṣepam upaśāmya punastatraivoparyupari cittaṃ prerayet| aśubhadibhāvanākramastu granthavistarabhayānna likhitaḥ| yadā tu cittaṃ tatrānabhirataṃ paśyet, tada samādherguṇadarśanato'bhiratiṃ tatra bhāvayet| vikṣepadoṣadarśanād aratiṃ praśamayet| atha yadā styānamiddhābhibhavād āalambanagrahaṇāprakaṭatayālīnaṃ cittaṃ bhavati tadā lokasaṃjñābhāvanayā prāmodyavastubuddhādiguṇamanasikārāt [vā] layaṃ upaśāmya punastadevālambanaṃ dṛḍhataraṃ gṛṇhīyāt|



atha yadā pūrvahasitaramitādyanusmarato'ntarā cittam uddhataṃ paśyet, tadā'nityatādisaṃvegamanasikārād auddhatyaṃ praśamayet, tataḥ punastatraivālambane cittasyānabhisaṃskāravāhitāyaṃ yatnaṃ kurvīta| atha yadā layauddhatyabhyāṃ viviktatayā samapravṛttaṃ svarasavāhicittaṃ paśyet tadābhogaśithīlīkaraṇād upekṣate| yadā tu samapravṛtte satyābhogaḥ kriyate, tadā cittaṃ vikṣipet|



yadā tu tatrālambane'nabhisaṃskāravāhi yāvadicchaṃ cittaṃ pravṛttaṃ bhavati, tadā śamatho niṣpanno veditavyaḥ| etacca sarvaśamathānāṃ sāmānyalakṣaṇam, cittaikagratāmātrasvabhāvatvāt| śamathasya| ālambanaṃ tu tasyāniyatameva| ayaṃ ca śamathamārgo bhagavatā āryaprajñāpāramitādau nirdiṣṭaḥ| yad āha-"tatra cittaṃ sthāpayati, saṃsthāpayati, avasthāpayati, upasthāpayati, damayati, śamayati, vyupaśamayati, ekotīkaroti, samādadhāti" iti navapadaiḥ|



tatra sthāpayati, ālambanena badhnāti| saṃsthāpayati, tatraivālambane prabandhena pravartayati| avasthāpayati, vikṣepam avagamya taṃ pariharati| upasthāpayati, vikṣepaṃ parihṛtya uparyupari punastatraivālambane sthāpayati| damayati, ratimutpādayati| śamayati, aratiṃ vyupaśāmayati vikṣepadoṣadarśanāt| vyupaśamayati, styānamiddhādīn vyutthitān vyupaśamayati| ekotīkaroti, ālambane'nabhisaṃskāravāhitāyaṃ yatnaṃ karoti| samādadhāti, samaprāptaṃ cittam upekṣate samanvāharatītyarthaḥ| eṣa caiṣāṃ padānām arthaḥ pūrvācāryaiḥ maitreyeṇa ca vyākhyātaḥ|



saṃkṣepeṇa sarvasaiva samādheḥ ṣaḍ doṣā bhavanti| kauṣidyam ālambanasaṃpramoṣaḥ, layauddhatyam, anābhogaḥ, ābhogateti| teṣāṃ pratipakṣeṇāṣṭau prahāṇasaṃskārā bhavanīyāḥ| tad yathā-śraddhā, chandaḥ, vyāyāmaḥ praśrabdhiḥ, smṛtiḥ, samprajanyam, cetanā, upekṣā ceti| tatrādyāścatvāraḥ kausīdyasya pratipakṣāḥ| tathāhi-samādherguṇeṣvabhisampratyayalakṣaṇayā śraddhayā tatra yogino'bhilāṣa utpadyate| tato'bhilāṣād vīryamarabheta| tadvīryabalena kāyacittakarmaṇyatām āsādayati| tataḥ praśrabdhakāyacetasaḥ kausīdyam āvartate| ataḥ śraddhādayaḥ kausīdyaprahāṇāya bhāvanīyāḥ| smṛtirālambanasampramoṣasya pratipakṣaḥ| samprajanyaṃ layauddhatyayoḥ pratipakṣaḥ| tena layauddhatyayoḥ samyagupaṃlakṣaṇāt| layauddhatyāpraśamanakāle tvanābhogadoṣaḥ tatpratipakṣeṇa ca cetanā bhāvanīyā| layauddhatyapraśame sati yadā cittaṃ praśamavāhi tadā''bhogadoṣaḥ, tatpratipakṣastadānīmupekṣā bhāvanīyā|



ebhiraṣṭābhiḥ prahāṇasaṃskāraiḥ samanvāgataḥ samādhiḥ paramakarmaṇyo bhavati| ṛddhayādīn guṇān niṣpādayati| ata evoktaṃ sūtra-"[aṣṭa] prahāṇa [saṃskāra] samanvāgataḥ ṛddhipādaṃ bhāvayati" iti| eṣā ca cittaikāgratā uttarottarakarmaṇyatāsamprayogād ālambanādiguṇaviśeṣayogācca dhyānārūpisamāpattiḥ vimokṣādivyapadeśaṃ labhate|



tathā hi yadopekṣāvedanāsamprayuktā savitarkasavicārā sā bhavati, tadā'nāgamyā ucyate [prathamadhyānaprayogacittatvāt]| yadā ca kāmatṛṣṇayā pāpadharmaiśca] viviktā bhavati [vitarkavicāra] prītisukhādhyātmasamprasādaiḥ samprayuktā bhavati, tadā prathamaṃ dhyānam ucyate| ata eva prathamadhyānaṃ vitarkamātrarahitaṃ dhyānāntaramucyate| yadā vitarkavicārarahitā prathamadhyānabhūmitṛṣṇayā viviktā ca bhavati| prītisukhādhyātmasamprasādaiḥ samprayuktā bhavati, tadā dvitīyaṃ dhyānamucyate| yadā tu dvitīyadhyānabhūmitṛṣṇayā viviktā bhavati, sukhopekṣāsmṛtisamprajanyasamprayuktā bhavati, tadā tṛtīyaṃ dhyānam ucyate| yadā tṛtīyadhyānabhūmitṛṣṇayā viviktā bhavati| aduḥkhāsukhā upekṣāsmṛtyabhisamprayuktā bhavati, tadā caturthaṃ dhyānamucyate| evam arūpyasamāpattivimokṣābhibhavāyatanādiṣvālambanākārādibhedena yojyam|



tadevamālambane cittaṃ sthirīkṛtya prajñayā vivecayet| yato jñānālokotpādāt sammohabījasyātyantaprahāṇaṃ bhavati| anyathā hi tīrthikānāmiva samādhimātreṇa kleśaprahāṇaṃ na syāt| yathoktaṃ sutre-



kiñcāpi bhāvayet samādhimetaṃ

na co bibhāveyya sā ātmasaṃjñām|

punaḥ prakupyati kileṣu tasya

yathodrakasyeha samādhibhāvanā||iti|



tatrāyam āryalaṅkāvatāre saṃkṣepāt prajñābhāvanākramo nirdiṣṭaḥ-



cittamātraṃ samāruhya bāhyamarthaṃ na kalpayet|

tathatālambane sthitvā cittamātramatikramet||

cittamātramatikramya nirābhāsamatikramet|

nirābhāsasthito yogī mahāyānaṃ sa paśyati||

anābhogagatiḥ śāntā praṇidhānairviśodhitā|

jñānaṃ nirātmakaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ nirābhāse na paśyati||iti|



tatrāyamarthaḥ-prathamaṃ yogī ye rūpiṇo dharmā bāhyārthatayā paraiḥ parikalpitāsteṣu tāvad vicārayet| kimete vijñānād anye, āhosvid vijñānamevaitat tathā pratibhāsate, yathā svapnāvasthāyāmiti| tatra vijñānād bahiḥ paramāṇuśo vicārayet| paramāṇūṃśca bhāgaśaḥ pratyavekṣa-māṇo yogī tān arthānna samanupaśyati| tasyāsamanupaśyata evaṃ bhavati cittamātramevaitat sarvaṃ na punarbāhyo'rthā vipadyate| tadevam-



"cittamātraṃ samāruhya bāhyamarthaṃ na kalpayet|"



rūpidharmavikalpāṃstyajed ityarthaḥ|



teṣām upalabdhilakṣaṇaprāptānāṃ vicārayed anupalabdheḥ| evaṃ rūpiṇo dharmān vibhāvyārupiṇo vibhāvayet| tatra yaccittamātraṃ tadapyasati grāhye grāhako na yukto grāhakasya grāhyapekṣatvad tataścittaṃ grāhyagrāhakaviviktam advayameva cittamiti vicārayed advayalakṣaṇe-



"tathatālambane sthitvā tadapi cittamātram atikramet|"



grahakamākāramatikrameta| dvayanirābhāsa eva advayajñāne tiṣṭhedityarthaḥ|



evaṃ cittamātramatikramya tadapi dvayanirābhasaṃ yajjñānaṃ tadatikrameta| svataḥ parato bhāvānāṃ janmānupapatteḥ grāhyagrāhakayoścālīkatve tadavyatirekāt tasyāpi satyatvamayuktamiti vicārayet| tatrāpyadvayajñāne vastutvābhiniveśaṃ tyajet, advayajñānanirābhāsa eva jñāne tiṣṭhedityarthaḥ| evaṃ sati sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatāpratipattau sthito bhavati| tatra sthitasya paramatattvapraveśāt nirvikalpasamādhipraveśaḥ|



tathā cādvayajñānanirābhāse jñāne yadā sthito yogī tadā paramatattve sthitatvāt, mahāyānaṃ sa paśyati| etadeva tat mahāyānam ucyate yat paramatattvadarśanam| etadeva tat paramatattvadarśanaṃ yat sarvadharmān prajñācakṣuṣā nirūpayataḥ samyagjñānāvaloke satyadarśanam| tathā coktaṃ sutre-"katamaṃ paramārthadarśanam ? sarvadharmāṇām adarśanam|" iti|



atredṛśamevādarśanamabhipretaṃ na tu nimīlitākṣajātyandhānāmiva pratyayavaikalyād amanasikārato vā yadadarśanam|



tato bhāvābhiniveśadiviparyāsavāsanāyā aprahīṇatvād asaṃjñisamāpattyādivyutthitasyeva punarapi bhāvābhiniveśamūlasya rāgādikleśagaṇasyotpatteramukta eva yogī bhavet| bhāvābhiniveśamūlo rāgādiḥ āryasatyadvayanirdeśādau varṇitaḥ| yatpunaruktam avikalpapraveśadhāraṇyām-"amanasikārato rūpādinimittaṃ varjayati" iti| tatrāpi prajñayā nirūpayato yo'nupalambhaḥ sa tatrāmanasikāro'bhipreto na manasikārābhāvamātram| na hyasaṃjñisamāpattyādiriva anādikāliko rūpādyabhiniveśo manasikāraparivarjanamātrāt prahīyate|



saṃśayā prahāṇe tu na pūrvopalabdheṣu ca rūpādiṣvabhiniveśamanasikāraparivarjanaṃ śakyaṃ kartum agnyaparivarjane dāhāparivarjanavat| tathāmī rūpādimithyāvikalpāḥ kaṇṭakādivadutkīlya na hastena cetaso'panetavyāḥ| kiṃ tarhi saṃśayabījāpagamāt| tacca saṃśayabījaṃ yoginaḥ samādhyāloke sati prajñācakṣuṣā nirūpayatastesāṃ rūpādīnāṃ pūrvopalabdhānām upalabdhilakṣaṇaprāptānām anupalambhād, rajjoḥ sarpajñānavad, apagacchati nānyathā| tathā saṃśayabījāpagamād rūpādinimittamanasikāraḥ śakyate varjayituṃ nānyathā| anyathā hyasati samādhyāloke prajñācakṣuṣāpyanavaloke yathā andhakūpāvasthitapuruṣasyāvacarakagataghāṭādiṣviva yogino rūpādiṣvastitvasaṃśayo naiva nivarteta| tadanivṛttyā cā prahīṇatimiradoṣasyeva yo'yukto'līkarūpādyabhiniveśaḥ pravarteta na kenāpi nivartyeta|



tasmāt samādhihastena manaḥ sandhāya sūkṣmataraprajñāśastreṇa tatra cetasi rūpādimithyāvikalpabījam uddharet| evam satyutkhātamūlā iva taravo bhūmernirmūlatayā mithyāvikalpāḥ punaścetasi na virohanti| ata evāvaraṇaprahāṇāya śamathavipaśyanāyuganaddhavāhī mārgo bhagavatā nirdiṣṭaḥ, tayoḥ avikalpasamyagjñāne hetutvāt| tathā coktam-



śīlaṃ pratiṣṭhāya samādhilābhāḥ

samādhilābhācca hi prajñābhāvanā|

prajñayā jñānaṃ bhavati viśuddhaṃ

viśuddhajñānasya hi śīlasampat||iti|



tathā hi yadā śamathenālambane cittaṃ sthirīkṛtaṃ bhavati tadā prajñayā vicārayataḥ samyagjñānāloka utpadyate, tadāndhakāramivāloke prakāśayati āvaraṇam apahīyate| ata evānayoścakṣurālokayoriva samyagjñānotpādaṃ pratyanyo'nyānuguṇyenāvasthitatvānnālokāndhakāravat parasparavirodhaḥ| na hi samādhirandhakārasvabhāvaḥ| kiṃ tarhi cittaikāgratālakṣaṇaḥ| sa ca samāhito yathābhūtaṃ prajānātīti vacanādekāntena prajñānukūla eva bhavati, na tu viruddhastasmāt syāt samāhitasya prajñayā nirūpayataḥ sarvadharmāṇāmanupalambhaḥ| sa eva paramo'nupalambhaḥ| sā ca tādṛśī yogināmavasthānalakṣaṇā gatiranābhogā, tataḥ paraṃ dṛṣṭavyasyābhāvāt| śānteti bhāvābhāvādivikalpalakṣaṇasya prapañcasyopaśamāt|



tathā hi yadā prajñayā nirūpayan na kiñcid bhāvasvabhāvam upalabhate yogī, tadā'sya naiva bhāvavikalpo bhavat| abhāvavikalpo'pi tasya nāstyeva| yadi bhāvaḥ kadācid dṛṣṭo bhavati, evaṃ sati tanniṣedhenābhāvavikalpaḥ pravartate| yadā tu kālatraye'pi bhāvo yoginā prajñācakṣuṣā nirūpayatā nopalabdhaḥ, tadā kathaṃ tasya pratiṣedhenābhāvavikalpaṃ kurvīta| evamanye'pi vikalpāstadā tasya na samutpadyanta eva bhāvābhāvavikalpābhyāṃ sarvavikalpasya vyāptatvāt| vyāpakābhāve ca vyāpyasyāsambhavāt| ayamasau paramanirvikalpo yogaḥ| tatra sthitasya yoginaḥ sarvavikalpānām astaṃgamāt samyak kleśāvaraṇaṃ jñeyāvaraṇaṃ ca prahīyate| tathā hi kleśāvaraṇasyānutpannāniruddhabhāveṣu bhāvādiviparyāso mūlaṃ kāraṇam āryasatyadvayanirdeśādau varṇitaṃ bhagavatā|



anena ca yogābhyāsena sarvabhāvādivikalpānāṃ prahāṇāt sakalabhāvādiviparyāsasyāvidyāsvabhāvasya kleśāvaraṇamūlasya prahāṇam| tato mūlocchedāt kleśavaraṇaṃ samyak prahīyate| tathā coktaṃ satyadvayanirdeśe-"kathaṃ mañjuśrīḥ, kleśā vinayaṃ gacchanti, kathaṃ kleśāḥ parijñātā bhavanti ? mañjuśrīrāha-paramārthato'tyantājātānutpannābhāveṣu sarvadharmeṣu saṃvṛtyāsadviparyāsaḥ| tasmād asadviparyāsāt saṅkalpavikalpaḥ| tasmāt saṃkalpavikalpād ayoniśo manasikāraḥ| tasmād ayoniśo manasikārād ātmasamāropaḥ| tasmād ātmasamāropād dṛṣṭiparyutthānam| tasmād dṛṣṭiparyutthānāt kleśāḥ pravartante| yaḥ punaḥ devaputra ! paramārthato'tyantājātānutpannābhāvān sarvadharmān prajānāti, sa paramārthato'viparyastaḥ| yaśca paramārthato'viparyastaḥ so'vikalpaḥ| yaścāvikalpaḥ sa yoniśaḥ prayuktaḥ| yaśca yoniśaḥ prayuktaḥ tasyātmasamāropo na bhavati| yasyātmasamāropo na bhavati tasya dṛṣṭiparyutthānaṃ na bhavati| yāvat paramārthato nirvāṇadṛṣṭisarva dṛṣṭiparyutthānam api na bhavati| tasyaivam anutpādavihāriṇaḥ kleśā atyantaṃ vinītā draṣṭavyāḥ| ayam ucyate kleśavinayaḥ| yadā, devaputra ! kleśān nirābhāsena jñānena paramārthato'tyantaśūnyān atyantābhāvān atyantanirnimittāt prajānāti, tadā devaputra ! kleśāḥ parijñātā bhavanti| tatra yathāpi nāma, devaputra ! ya āśīviṣasya gotraṃ prajānāti| sa tasyāśīviṣasya viṣaṃ śamayati| evameva devaputra ! ya kleśānāṃ gotraṃ prajānāti tasya kleśāḥ praśāmyanti| devaputra āha-kataman mañjuśrīḥ ! kleśānāṃ gotram| āha-yāvad eṣā paramārthato'tyantājātānutpannābhāveṣu sarvadharmeṣu kalpanā idaṃ kleśānāṃ gotram" iti vistaraḥ|
bhāvādiviparyāsena ca sakalaviparyāsasya vyāptatvāt| tatprahāṇe sakalaviparyāsaprahāṇād jñeyāvaraṇam apyanena samyak prahīyate, viparyāsalakṣaṇatvād āvaraṇasya| jñeyāvaraṇe ca prahīṇe pratibandhābhāvād ravikiraṇavad apagatameghādyāvaraṇe nabhasi sarvatrāvyāhato yogi pratyakṣo jñānālokaḥ pravartate| tathā hi vastusvabhāvaprakāśarūpaṃ vijñānam| tacca saṃnihitam api vastu pratibandhasadbhāvānna prakāśayati| pratibandhābhāve tu sati, acintyaśaktiviśeṣalābhāt kimiti sakalam eva vastu yathāvad na prakāśayet| ataḥ saṃvṛtiparamārtharūpeṇa sakalasya vastuno yathāvat parijñānāt sarvajñatvam avāpyate| ato'yam evāvaraṇaprahāṇo sarvajñatvādhigame ca paramo mārgaḥ|



yastu śrāvakādīnāṃ mārgastena viparyāsāprahāṇān na samyag āvaraṇadvayaṃ prahīyate| tathā coktam āryalaṅkāvatāre-"anye tu kāraṇādhīnān sarvadharmān dṛṣṭvā'nirvāṇe'pi nirvāṇam iti buddhayo bhavanti| dharmanairātmyādarśanād nāsti mahāmate ! mokṣa eṣām| mahāmate, śrāvakayānikābhisamayagotrasyāniryāṇe niryāṇabuddhiḥ| atra mahāmate, kudṛṣṭivyāvartanā yogaḥ karaṇīyaḥ" iti| ata eva cānyena mārgeṇa mokṣābhāvād ekam eva yānam uktaṃ bhagavatā|



kevalam [bālena bālasya] avatāraṇābhisandhinā śrāvakādimārgo deśitaḥ| tathā hi sakandha mātramevaitat, na tvātmāstīti bhāvayan śrāvakaḥ pudgalanairātmyam avatarati, vijñaptimātraṃ traidhātukamiti bhāvayan vijñānavādibāhyārthanairātmyamavatarati| anena tvasyadvayajñānasya nairātmyapraveśāt paramatattvapraviṣṭo bhavati| na tu vijñaptimātratāpraveśa eva tattvapraveśaḥ| yathoktaṃ prāk| uktaṃ ca āryalokottaraparivarte "punaraparaṃ bho jinaputra ! cittamātraṃ traidhātukam avatarati, tacca cittam anantamadhyatayā'vatarati" iti| antayorutpādabhaṅgalakṣaṇayoḥ sthitilakṣaṇasya ca madhyasyābhāvād anantamadhyacittam| tasmād advayajñānapraveśa eva tattvapraveśaḥ|



sā ceyaṃ yoginām avasthā kuto viśodhitā ? ityāha-



"praṇidhānairviśodhitā" iti| mahākaruṇayā yat sarvasattvārthakaraṇāya bodhisattvena praṇihitam, tataḥ praṇidhānabalād uttarottaradānādikuśalābhyāsāt sā tathā viśuddhā jāta, yena sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatājñāne'pi sakalasattvāpekṣā na vyāvartate yāvat saṃsāra eva ananuliptāḥ saṃsāradoṣairavatiṣṭhanta iti| kathaṃ punaranābhogā śāntetyatra kāraṇamāha-



jñānaṃ nirātmakaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ nirābhāsena paśyati| iti|



yasmād yad advayalakṣaṇaṃ jñānam advayavādināṃ śreṣṭhaṃ paramārthenābhimataṃ tadapi nirātmakaṃ niḥsvabhāvam advayanirābhāsena jñānena paśyati yogī| ato'parasya draṣṭavyasyābhāvād anābhogā, sarvavikalpābhāvat śānteti|



atredānīṃ ko'sau yogī vidyate, yaḥ paśyatīti cet ? na paramārthataḥ kaścid ātmādiḥ svatantro'sti, yogī nāpi kaścit paśyati| kintu saṃvṛtyā yathā rūpādīviṣayākārajñānotpādamātreṇa vijñānameva loke tathā tathā vyavahriyate devadatto yajñadattaṃ jñānena paśyatīti na tu kaścid ātmādirasti| tathā'trāpi jñānamevādvayajñānanirābhāsam utpadyamānaṃ tathā vyapadiśyate nirābhāsena jñānena paśyatiti| na hi sarvadharmāṇāṃ paramārthato niḥsvabhāvatve'pi saṃvṛtyā yogijñānam anyad vā pṛthagjñānaṃ neṣṭam| tathā coktam āryasatyadvayanirdeśe-"paramārthato'tyantābhāvaśca saṃvṛttyā ca mārga bhāvayati" iti|



anyathā śrāvakapratyekabuddhabodhisattva [buddha] pṛthagjanādivyavasthā kathaṃ bhavet, kintu yasya saṃvṛtyā'pi kāraṇaṃ nāsti sa saṃvṛtyā'pi notpadyate| yathā śaśaviṣāṇādi| yasya tu [kāraṇaṃ] vidyate sa paramārthato'līko'pi samutpadyata eva| yathā-māyāpratibimba [pratidhvani] ādī| na ca māyādeḥ saṃvṛtyā pratītyasamutpāde paramārthato vastutvaprasaṅgaḥ, tasya vicārākṣamatvāt| ataḥ sarvameva māyopamaṃ jagat| tatra yathā kleśakarmamāyāvaśāt sattvānāṃ janmamāyā pravarteta, tathā yogināmapi puṇyajñānasambhāramāyāvaśād yogijñānamāyā pravartata eva| tathā coktam āryaprajñāpāramitāyām-"kaścit śrāvakanirmitaḥ, kaścit pratyekabuddhanirmitaḥ, kaścid bodhisattvanirmitaḥ, kaścit tathāgatanirmitaḥ, kaścit kleśanirmitaḥ kaścit karmanirmitaḥ| anena subhūte, paryāyeṇa sarvadharmā nirmitotpannāḥ" iti| ayaṃ tu viśeṣo yogināṃ pṛthagjanebhyaḥ, te hi māyākāravat tāṃ māyāṃ yathāvat parijñānāt satyato nābhiniviśante, tena te yogina ucyante| ye tāṃ bālapṛthagjanavat kautūhalaṃ styatvenābhiniviṣṭāste viparītābhiniveśad bāla ucyante iti sarvamaviruddham| tathā coktam āryadharmasaṅgītau-



māyākāro yathā kaścinnirmita-mokṣamudyataḥ|

na cāsya nirmite saṅgo jñātapūrvo yato'sya saḥ||

tribhavaṃ nirmitaprakhyaṃ jñātvā sambodhipāragaḥ|

saṃnahyate jagaddhetorjñātapūrvaṃ jagat tathā||iti|



evamanena krameṇa tattvaṃ bhāvayet|



tatra ca layauddhatyādīn vyutthitān pūrvavat praśamayet| yadā tu sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatālambane ca layauddhatyādirahitam anabhisaṃskāreṇa pravṛttaṃ jñānaṃ bhavati, tadā śamathavipaśyanāyuganaddhavāhī mārgo niṣpanno bhavati| tathā yāvat śaknoti tāvad adhimuktibalena adhimukticaryābhūmau sthito bhāvayet|



tato yathecchaṃ paryaṅkamābhujya vyutthāya punarevaṃ cintayet| yadi nāmāmī dharmāḥ paramārthata eva niḥsvabhāvā apyete saṃvṛtyā sthitā eva| tathā coktam āryaratnameghe-"kathaṃ bodhisattvo nairātmyakuśalo bhavati ? iha kulaputra, bodhisattvaḥ samyakprajñayā rūpaṃ pratyevakṣate, vedanāṃ saṃjñāṃ saṃskārān vijñānaṃ pratyavekṣate| sa rūpaṃ pratyavekṣamāṇo rūpasyotpādaṃ nopalabhate, virodhaṃ nopalabhate, samudayaṃ nopalabhate| evaṃ vedanāyāḥ saṃjñāyāḥ saṃskārāṇāṃ vijñānasyotpādaṃ nopalabhate, nirodhaṃ nopalabhate, samudayaṃ nopalabhate| ayaṃ ca paramārthato'nutpādavihāriṇyāḥ prajñāyā na punarvyāvahārikeṇa svabhāvena" iti vistaraḥ| ete ca bālabuddhaya evaṃ niḥsvabhāveṣu bhāveṣu viparītābhiniveśāt saṃsāre paribhramanto vividhāni duḥkhāni pratyanubhavanti| mahākaruṇām eva āmukhīkṛtya evamanuvicintayet-tathā'haṃ kariṣyāmi yathā sarvajñatvaṃ prāpya eteṣāṃ dharmatāmavabodhayeyamiti|



tataḥ sarvabuddhabodhisattvebhyaḥ pūjāstotropahāraṃ kṛtvā āryabhadracaryāpraṇidhānamabhinirharet| tataḥ śūnyatākaruṇāgarbha eva sakaladānādipuṇyajñānasambhāropārjane pravartate| tathā coktam āryadharmasaṃgītau-"yathābhūtadarśino bodhisattvasya sattveṣu mahākaruṇā pravartate| evaṃ cāsya bhavati-idaṃ mayā samādhimukhaṃ sarvadharmayathābhūtadarśaṃ ca sarvasattvānāṃ nispādayitavyam| sa tayā mahākaruṇayā saṃcodyamāno'dhiśīlam adhicittam adhiprajñaṃ ca śikṣātrayaṃ paripūryānuttaraṃ samyaksambodhim abhisambudhyate" iti|



ayameva prajñopāyayuganaddhabāhī bodhisattvānāṃ mārgo yat paramārthadarśane'pi saṃvṛtiṃ nocchedayanti| saṃvṛtiṃ cānucchedayanto mahākaruṇāpūrvaṅgamā aviparyastā eva sattvārthakriyāsu pravartante| uktam āryaratnameghe-"kathaṃ bodhisattvo mahāyānakuśalo bhavati| iha bodhisattvaḥ sarvāsu śikṣāsu śikṣate, śikṣāmārgaṃ ca nopalabhate| yacca śikṣate tadapi nopalabhate| yaśca śikṣyate tamapi nopalabhate| na ca taddhetukaṃ tannidānaṃ tatpratyayam ucchedadṛṣṭau patati " iti| āryadharmasaṃgītau coktam-"katamā bodhisattvānāṃ pratipattiḥ ? yat kiñcid bodhisattvānāṃ kāyakarma, yat kiñcid vākkarma, yat kiñcin manaḥkarma, tat sarvasattvāpekṣakaṃ pravartate, mahākaruṇāpūrvaṅgamatvāt| mahākaruṇādhipatyaṃ sarvasattvāhitasukhādhyāśayasamutthitam" iti| ayamevaṃ hitāśayaḥ saṃjñībhavati| sā mayā pratipattiḥ pratipattavyā sarvasattvānāṃ hitāvahā sukhāvahā| tasya skandheṣu māyāvat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca skandhaparityāgaṃ spṛhayatīti| dhātuṣvāśīviṣavat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca dhātuparityāgaṃ spṛhayatīti| āyataneṣu śūnyagrāmavat pratyavekṣaṇāpratipattirna cāyatanaparityāgaṃ spṛhayatīti| rūpasya phenapiṇḍavat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca tathāgatarūpakāyaviṭhapanāṃ jahāti| vedanāyā budbudvat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca tathāgatadhyānasamādhisamāpattisukhaniṣpadanaprayogaṃ nārabhate| saṃjñāyāṃ marīcivat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca tathāgatajñānaniṣpādana apratipattiḥ| saṃskārāṇāṃ kadalīvat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca buddhadharmasaṃskārāṇām apratipattiḥ| vijñānasya māyāvat pratyavekṣaṇā pratipattirna ca jñānapūrvaṅgamakāyavāṅmanaskarmaniṣpādanā pratipattiḥ" iti vistaraḥ| evam aparyanteṣu sūtrānteṣu prajñopāyarūpā pratipattiranugantavyā|



tatra yadi nāma lokottaraprajñāvasthāyām upāyasevanā na sambhavati, upāyasevanākāle tu bodhisattvasya māyākāravad aviparyastatvāt lokottarajñānāt prayogapṛṣṭhabhāvani yathāvad vastuparamārthatattvābhiniveśanī prajñāsambhavatyeveti, bhavatyeva prajñopāyayuganaddhavāhī mārgaḥ| āryakṣayamatinirdeśe ca dhyānākṣayatayā prajñopāyayuganaddhavāhī mārgo'nugantavyaḥ| evamanena krameṇa bodhisattvasya prajñām upāyaṃ ca satataṃ satkṛtya dīrghakālābhyāsena bhāvayato dvādaśāvasthāviśeṣā bhavanti| tā evāvasthā uttarottaraguṇapratiṣṭhārthena bhūmayo vyavasthāpyante| adhimukticaryābhūmeryāvad buddhabhūmiriti|



tatra yāvat pudgaladharmanairātmyatvaṃ na sākṣātkaroti, kevalaṃ dṛḍhatarādhimuktiḥ| mārādibhirapyabhedyo yadādhimuktibalena tattvaṃ bhavayati, tadā dṛḍhādhimuktito'dhimukticaryābhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāmapi bhūmau vartamāno bodhisattva pṛthagjano'pi sarvabālavipattisamatikrānto'saṃkhyeyasamādhidhāraṇīvimokṣābhijñādiguṇānvita āryaratnameghe paṭhyate|



asyā eva ca mṛdumadhyādhimātrādhimātratarāvasthācatuṣṭayena catvāri nirvedhabhāgīyāni vyavasthāpyante| tathā hi yadā [bāhyārtha vibhāvayatā] īṣatspaṣṭo jñānāloko bhavati tadā uṣmagatanāmakaṃ nirvedhabhāgīyaṃ bhavati| sa cātra mahāyāna ālokalabdhasamādhirucyate| yadā tu sa eva jñānaloko madhyamaspaṣṭo bhavati, tadā mūrdhanāmakanirvedhabhāgīyaṃ bhavati, vṛddhālokaśca samādhirucyate| yadā tu spaṣṭataro bāhyārthānābhāsajñānāloko jāyate, tadā vijñaptimātrāvasthānāt kṣāntināmakaṃ nirvedhabhāgīyaṃ bhavati| ekadeśapraviṣṭaśca samādhirucyate| grāhyakārānupalambhapraveśāt| yadā tu grāhyagrāhakākārarahitam advayaṃ jñānaṃ vibhāvayet tadā'gradharmākhyaṃ nirvedhabhāgīyaṃ bhavati| ānantaryaśca sa samādhirucyate, tadanantarameva tattvapraveśāt| atra tāvad adhimukticaryābhūmi|



itarāstu bhūmayaḥ saṃkṣepata ekādaśāṅgaparipūritā vyavasthāpyante| tatra prathamā bhūmiḥ prathamaṃ pudgaladharmanairātmyatattvādhigamāṅgaparipūritā vyavasthāpyate| tathā hi yadā'gradharmānantaraṃ prathamataraṃ lokottaraṃ sarvaprapañcarahitaṃ sarvadharmaniḥsvabhāvatāsākṣātkāri sphuṭataraṃ jñānam utpadyate, tadā bodhisattvaḥ samyaktvanyayābhāvakrāntito darśanamārgotpādāt prathamāṃ bhūmiṃ praviṣṭo bhavati| ata evāsyāṃ bhūmau prathamato'nadhigatatattvādhigamād bodhisattvaḥ pramudito bhavati| tata eṣā bhūmiḥ pramuditetyucyate| atra ca dvādaśottaraṃ darśanaheyaṃ kleśaśataṃ prahīyate|



śeṣāstu bhūmayo bhāvanāmārgasvabhāvāḥ| tāsu bhāvanāheyāstraidhātukāḥ ṣoḍaśa kleśāḥ prahīyante| asyāṃ ca bhūmau bodhisattvasya dharmadhātusamudāgamatāprabodhāt svārtha iva parāthe pravartanād dānapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| sa ca bodhisattvaḥ samadhigatatattvo'pi vā yāvann śaknoti sūkṣmāpattiskhaliteṣu samprajanyavihāri bhavituṃ tāvat prathamā bhūmiḥ| yadā tu śaknoti, tadāsyāṅgasya paripūrito dvitīyā bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| ata evāsyāṃ bhūmau sūkṣmāpattiskhalitasamudācārāt śīlapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| sarvadauśśīlyamalāpagamād iyaṃ bhūmirvimaletyucyate|



sa sūkṣmāpattiskhaliteṣu samprajanyavihārī bhavati| yāvanna śaknoti sakalalaukikaṃ samādhiṃ samāpattuṃ yathāśrutaṃ cārtham ādharttuṃ tāvad dvitīyaiva bhūmiḥ| yadā śaknoti, tadā tasyāṅgasya paripūritastṛtīyā bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ ca bhūmau bodhisattvasya śrutadhāraṇyā sarvalaukikasamādhyābhinirhārārthaṃ sarvaduḥkhasahanāt, kṣāntipāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| teṣāṃ samādhīnāṃ lābhād iya bhūmirapramāṇaṃ lokottaraṃ jñānāvabhāsaṃ karotīti prabhākarītyucyate|



sa pratilabdhalaukikasakalasamādhirapi yāvann śaknoti yathāpratilabdhairbodhipakṣairdharmairbahulaṃ vihartuṃ sarvasamāpattīnāṃ ca cittam upekṣituṃ tāvat tṛtīyā bhūmiḥ| yadā tu śaknoti tadā tasyāṅgasya paripūritaścaturthī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ bhūmau bodhisattvasyābhīkṣṇaṃ kāyavāṅmanojalpasamatikramaṇāaya bodhipakṣairdharmairviharaṇāt, viryaparamitā'tiriktatarābhavati| iyaṃ ca sakalakleśendhanadāhasamarthasya bodhipakṣadharmārciṣa udgatatvād arciṣmatītyucyate|



so'bhīkṣṇaṃ bodhipakṣadharmavihārī bhavati| yāvanna śaknoti satyāni bhāvayan saṃsārānabhimukhaṃ nirvāṇābhimukhaṃ ca ceto vyāvartayitum upāyasaṃgṛhītān bodhipakṣān dharmān bhāvayitum, tāvaccaturthī bhūmiḥ| yadā tu śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūritaḥ pañcamī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| ata evāsyām iyam upāyasaṃgṛhītā bodhipakṣabhāvanā [paripūritena] suṣṭhu duḥkhena jīyate abhyasyatā iti sudurjayetyujyate|



asyāṃ cāryasatyākārabhāvanābahulīkārād dhyānapāramitā atiriktatarā bhavati| upayasaṃgṛhītabodhipakṣabahulavihārī ca bhavati| yāvad na śaknoti saṃsārapravṛttipratyavekṣaṇān nirvitsahayā cittasantatyā'nimittavihāraṃ samāpattuṃ tāvat pañcamī bhūmiḥ| yadā śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūritaḥ ṣaṣṭhī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ ca bodhisattvasya pratītyasamutpādabhāvanāvihārāt prajñāpāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| ata eva prajñāpāramitāyā atiriktataratvāt sarvabuddhadharmeṣu abhimukho'syāṃ bhūmau vartata iti kṛtvā abhimukhītyucyate|



so'nimittavihāralābhī bhavati| yāvanna śaknoti niśchidram animittavihāraṃ samāpattum, tāvat ṣaṣṭhī bhūmiḥ| yadā śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūritaḥ saptamī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāmapi bhūmau bodhisattvaḥ sarvanimittaṃ nirnimittena pratividhyati nimittakṛtavyavahāraṃ ca na virodhayati| ato'syām upāyapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| iyaṃ ca bhūmiranābhogamārgopaśleṣāt suṣṭhu dūraṅgamād dūraṅgamā|



sa niśchidrānimittāvihāri bhavati| yāvanna śaknotyanābhogavāhinam animittavihāraṃ samāpattuṃ tāvat saptamī bhūmiḥ| yadā śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūrito'ṣṭamī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ ca bhūmau anābhogena kuśalapakṣayogāt praṇidhānapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| animittābhogāprakampyatvād iyam acaletyucyate|



so'nābhogānimittavihārī ca bhavati| yāvanna śaknoti paryāyaniruktyādiprabhedaiḥ sarvākārasarvadharmadeśanāyāṃ vaśībhavituṃ tāvad aṣṭamī bhūmiḥ| yadā śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūrito navamī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ ca bhūmau bodhisattvasya pratisaṃvid-viśeṣalābhāt prajñābalaviśeṣayogād balapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| sarvākāradharmadeśanākauśalato'navadyamativiśeṣalābhāt sādhumatī bhūmirucyate|



asyāṃ ca pratisaṃviccatuṣṭayalabhī bhavati| yāvanna śaknoti buddhakṣetraparṣannirmāṇādi darśayituṃ paripūrṇadharmasambhogaṃ sattvaparipākaṃ ca kartum, tāvad navamī bhūmiḥ| yadā tu śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūrito daśamī bhūmirvyavasthāpyate| asyāṃ ca nirmāṇādinā sattvaparipācanāya jñānaviśeṣayogād bodhisattvasya jñānapāramitā'tiriktatarā bhavati| iyaṃ ca dharmadeśanāmeghaiḥ ananteṣu lokadhātuṣu dharmapravarṣaṇād dharmameghetyucyate| aparairapi skandhapariśuddhayādivyavasthāpanaiḥ bhūmīnāṃ vyavasthāpanamasti, granthavistarabhayān na likhitam|



sa pratilabdha-nirmāṇādivaśito'pi yāvan na śaknoti sarvasmin jñeye sarvākāram asaktam| apratihataṃ jñānam utpādayituṃ tāvad daśamī bhūmi| yadā śaknoti tadā'syāṅgasya paripūrito buddhabhūmirvyavasthāpyate| etacca bhūmivyavasthāpanam āryasaṃdhinirmocane nirdiṣṭam| asyāśca buddhabhūmeḥ sarvākārasakalasaṃpatprakarṣḍaparyantagamanānnāparam utkṛṣṭaṃ sthānāntaramasti [tasmāt tataḥ paraṃ nāsti bhūmivyavasthā] iti|



asyāśca buddhamūmerguṇapakṣaprabhedo buddhairapi na śakyate sarvākāraṃ vaktum| tasyā aprameyatvāt, kathaṃ punaḥ asmatsadṛśaiḥ| yathoktam āryagaṇḍavyūhe-guṇaikadeśa-paryanta nādhigacchet svayaṃbhuvaḥ|

nirīkṣyamāṇo buddho'pi buddhadharmā hyacintiyāḥ||iti|



etāvattu saṃkṣepeṇa vaktuṃ śakyate| [svaparārthasampattiprakarṣaparyantagataḥ, aśeṣadoṣāpagamaniṣṭhāṃ prāpya bhagavān buddho dharmakāye sthitvā sambhoganirmāṇakāyābhyām anābhogarūpeṇa aśeṣajagadartha kurvan yāvat saṃsāraṃ viharati|



tasmāt prekṣavadbhiḥ sarvaguṇākareṣu bhagavatsu śraddhā utpadanīyā, tadguṇaparisādhanārthaṃ sarvaprakāreṇa prayatitavyam| trikāyadivibhāgastu granthavistarabhayānna likhyate|



nayasyānusāreṇa sūtrasya cāṭha

saduktyā'sya mārgasya jinaputrakāṇām|

mayānalpapuṇyaṃ yadāptaṃ ca tena

parāmetu buddhiṃ jaganmandamāśu||



bhūpatiśrīdevarājavacanena] kamalaśīlena bhāvanākramasya ayaṃ saṃkṣepaḥ kṛtaḥ|
