skandhaparīkṣā caturtha prakaraṇam |
atrāha- yadyevaṃ cakṣurādīnīndriyāṇi na santi , na skandhāḥ, apratiṣedhāt tadantargatāni cendriyāṇi, atastānyapi bhaviṣyantīti | ucyate | syureva, yadi skandhāḥ syuḥ tatra rūpaskandhamadhikṛtyāha -
rūpakāraṇanirmuktaṃ na rūpamupalabhyate |
rūpeṇāpi na nirmuktaṃ dṛśyate rūpakāraṇam ||1||
tatra rūpaṃ bhautikam | tasya kāraṇaṃ catvāri mahābhūtāni | tadvayatiriktaṃ pṛthagbhūtaṃ rūpaṃ rūpaśabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyākhyaṃ nopalabhyate ghaṭādiva paṭaḥ | rūpeṇāpi na nirmuktaṃ rūpātpṛthagbhūtaṃ rūpakāraṇamupalabhyate ||1||
tadetatpratijñādvayaṃ prasādhayitukāma āha -
rūpakāraṇanirmukte rūpe rūpaṃ prasajyate |
āhetukaṃ, na cāstyarthaḥ kaścidāhetukaḥ kkacit ||2||
yathā ghaṭādarthāntarabhūtaḥ paṭo na ghaṭahetukaḥ, evaṃ rūpakāraṇacaturmahābhūtavyatirikta bhautikaṃ rūpamiṣyamāṇaṃ na bhūtahetukaṃ syāt | na cāstyarthaḥ kaścidāhetukaḥ kkacit | tasmādahetukatva doṣaprasaṅgānna rūpakāraṇanirmuktaṃ rūpamabhyupetavyamiti ||2||
idānīṃ rūpeṇāpi vinirmuktaṃ yathā rūpakāraṇaṃ nāsti, tathā pratipādayannāha -
rūpeṇa tu vinirmuktaṃ yadi syādrūpakāraṇam |
yadi kāryarūpavinirmuktaṃ rūpakāraṇaṃ syāt, tadā, yathā ghaṭātkuṇḍaṃ pṛthaksiddhaṃ ghaṭahetukaṃ na bhavati, evaṃ kāryātpṛthagbhūtaṃ kāraṇamiṣyamāṇam-
akāryakaṃ kāraṇaṃ syāt
nirhetukaṃ syāt | kāraṇasya hi kāraṇatve kāryapravṛttirhetuḥ, kāryanirapekṣācca kāraṇāt pṛthaksiddhā nāsti kāryapravṛttiḥ | yaccākāryakaṃ kāraṇaṃ tannirhetukatvānnaroragaturagaviṣāṇavannāstyevetyāha -
nāstyakāryaṃ ca kāraṇam ||3||
iti ||3||
atha cedaṃ rūpasya kāraṇamiṣyamāṇaṃ sati vā rūpe kāraṇatveneṣyate'sati vā? ubhayathā ca nopapadyata ityāha -
rūpe satyeva rūpasya kāraṇaṃ nopapadyate |
rūpe'satyeva rūpasya kāraṇaṃ nopapadyate ||4||
sati vā saṃvidyamāne rūpe kiṃ rūpakāraṇena prayojanam? asati asaṃvidyamāne rūpe kiṃ kiṃ rūpakāraṇena prayojanam, kasya vā tatkāraṇaṃ parikalpyate? tasmādasatyapi rūpe rūpakāraṇaṃ nopapadyate ||4||
atha syāt - yadyapi evaṃ rūpakāraṇaṃ na saṃbhavati, tathāpi kāryaṃ rūpaṃ saṃvidyate, sadbhāvāt kāraṇamapi bhaviṣyatīti | syādevam , yadi kāryaṃ rūpaṃ syāt | na tvasti | ysmāt -
niṣkāraṇaṃ punā rūpaṃ naiva naivopapadyate |
rūpakāraṇaṃ yathā nāsti tathoktam | asati kāraṇe kuto nirhetukaṃ kāryaṃ rūpaṃ bhavet? naiva naivetyanena sāvadhāraṇena pratiṣedhadvayena ahetukatvādasyātyaniṣṭatāṃ darśayati | yataścaivaṃ rūpaṃ sarvathā vicāryamāṇaṃ na saṃbhavati,
tasmāt
tattvadarśī yogī
rūpagatān kāṃścinna vikalpān vikalpayet ||5||
sapratighāpratighasanidarśanānidarśanātītānāgatanīlapītādivikalpān rūpālambanānna kāṃścitparikalpayitumarhatītyarthaḥ ||5||
api ca | idaṃ rūpakāraṇamiṣyamāṇaṃ sadṛśaṃ kāryaṃ niṣpādayedasadṛśaṃ vā? ubhayathā ca nopapadyate ityāha -
na kāraṇasya sadṛśaṃ kāryamityupapadyate |
na kāraṇasyāsadṛśaṃ kāryamityupapadyate ||6||
tatra rūpakāraṇaṃ kaṭhinadravoṣṇataralasvabhāvam | bhautikaṃ tu cakṣurādhyātmikaṃ pañcacakṣurvijñānādyāśrayakarūpaprasādātmakam | bāhyaṃ tu rūpādyāyatanādikaṃ cakṣurvijñānādigrāhyalakṣaṇaṃ na mahābhūtasvabhāvamiti | ato bhinnalakṣaṇatvānnirvāṇavatkāryakāraṇayoḥ sādṛśyameva nāstīti
na kāraṇasya sadṛśaṃ kāryamityupapadyate |
na cāpi sadṛśānāṃ śālibījādīnāṃ parasparakāryakāraṇabhāvo dṛṣṭaḥ, ityataḥ
na kāraṇasya sadṛśaṃ kāryamityupapadyate |
tathāpi
na kāraṇasyāsadṛśaṃ kāryamityupapadyate |
bhinnalakṣaṇatvānnirvāṇavadevetyabhiprāyaḥ ||6||
yathā cedaṃ rūpaṃ vicāryamāṇaṃ sarvathā nopapadyate, evaṃ vedanādayo'pi, ityatidiśannāha -
vedanācittasaṃjñānāṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ ca sarvaśaḥ |
sarveṣāmeva bhāvānāṃ rūpeṇaiva samaḥ kramaḥ ||7||
vedanādikamapi sarvaṃ rūpavicāreṇaiva samaṃ yojyam | yathaiva hyekasya dharmasya śūnyatā pratipādayitumiṣṭā mādhyamikena, tathaiva sarvadharmāṇāmapīti ||7||
ataḥ -
vigrahe yaḥ parīhāraṃ kṛte śūnyatayā vadet |
sarvaṃ tasyāparihṛtaṃ samaṃ sādhyena jāyate ||8||
tatra parapakṣadūṣaṇaṃ vigrahaḥ | śūnyatayā kāraṇabhūtayā rūpaṃ niḥsvabhāvamityevaṃ sasvabhāvavāde pratiṣiddhe, yadi paraḥ parihāraṃ brūyāt - vedanādayastāvatsanti, tadvadrūpamapyastīti, tadetatsarva tasyāpari hṛtaṃ bhavati | yasmādvedanādīnāmapi sadbhāvaḥ sādhyena rūpasadbhāvena samo veditavyaḥ | yathā rūpaṃ svakāraṇāttattvānyatvena vicāryamāṇamasat, evaṃ sparśapratyayā vedanā, vijñānasahajā saṃjñā, avidyāpratyayāḥ saṃskārāḥ, saṃskārapratyayaṃ ca vijñānaṃ svakāraṇātsparśādeḥ tattvānyatvādinā vicāryamāṇaṃ nāstīti sarvametatsādhyasamaṃ bhavati | yathā vedanādayaḥ sādhyasamāḥ, evaṃ lakṣyalakṣaṇa kāryakāraṇāvayavyavayavādayo'pi sarva eva padārthāḥ rūpeṇa sādhyena samā iti kutaḥ parasya parīhāra saṃbhavet? sarvaṃ vacanamasya sādhyasamaṃ bhavatīti sarvatra śāstre parīhāreṇa sādhyasamatvaṃ mādhyamikenā grāhaṇīyamityācāryaḥ śikṣayati ||8||
yathā ca parapakṣadūṣaṇe vihi'toyaṃ vidhiḥ, evaṃ vyākhyānakāle'pītyāha -
vyākhyāne ya upālambhaṃ kṛte śūnyatayā vadet |
sarvaṃ tasyānupālabdhaṃ samaṃ sādhyena jāyate ||9||
vyākhyānakāle'pi yaḥ śiṣyadeśīyaścodyamupālambhaṃ kuryāt, tasyāpi taccodyamupālambhākhyaṃ pūrvavatsādhyasamaṃ veditavyam | yathoktam -
bhāvasyaikasya yo draṣṭā draṣṭā sarvasya sa smṛtaḥ |
ekasya śūnyatā yaiva saiva sarvasya śūnyatā || iti |
āryagaganagañjasamādhisūtre'pi -
ekena dharmeṇa tu sarvadharmān
anugacchate māyamarīcisādṛśān |
agrāhyatucchānalikānaśāśvatān
so bodhimaṇḍaṃ nacireṇa gacchati || iti ||
samādhirājasūtre'pi -
yatha ñāta tayātmasaṃjña tathaiva sarvatra peṣitā buddhiḥ |
sarve ca tatsvabhāvā dharma viśuddhā gaganakalpāḥ ||
ekena sarvaṃ jānāti sarvamekena paśyati |
kiyadbahu pi bhāvetvā na tasyotpadyate madaḥ ||iti |
ityācāryacandrakīrtipādoparacittāyāṃ prasannapadāyāṃ madhyamakavṛttau skandhaparīkṣā nāma caturtha prakaraṇam ||
