satyaviniścayo nāma dvitīyaḥ samuccayaḥ



tatsattvajanmato janmādhiṣṭhānataśceti yaśca jāyate sattvalokaḥ, yatra ca jāyate bhājanaloke, tadubhayaṃ duḥkha mityuktaṃ bhavati | yaśca sattvaloko yaśca bhājanalokaḥ karmakleśajanitaḥ karmakleśādhipateya ityābhyāṃ tayoḥ sattvabhājanaloka yorduḥkhatvakāraṇaṃ jñāpayati ||



api khalu jātirduḥkhamityevamādi pūrva samasya duḥkhasatyalakṣaṇaṃ vyutpādyādhunā duḥkhasatyamārabhya sūtroktasya nirdeśasyārtha vibhaktumārabhate ||



jātirduḥkhaṃ saṃvādaduḥkhatāṃ tadanyadukhasvāśrayatāṃ copādāyeti mātuḥ kukṣāvāmapakvāśa yayo rantarā le āsīnasya niṣkrāmato vā kukṣervividhāśucidravyāsaṃpīḍāṅgasaṃmarda duḥkhānubhavanārthena, jātau satyāṃ jarādiduḥkhābhyanuṣaṅgārthena ca yathākramama ||



ṣaṭ samānānya ṣṭau bhavanti vipariṇatidukhaṃ tridhā kṛtvā ||



jātyādibhirduḥkhaduḥkhatāparidīpanavacanaṃ duḥkhavedanīyadharmasvalakṣaṇārthena | priyavināmāvādinā vipariṇāmaduḥkhatāparidīpanavacanaṃ prāptāprāptasukhavedanīyadharmavipariṇatisvalakṣaṇārthena | pañcopādānaskandhā duḥkha mityane na saṃskāra duḥkhatāparidīpanavacanaṃ dvayāvinirmokṣānityetā nubandhayogakṣemārthena ||



jātirdukhamityevamādi saṃvṛtisatyena dukham, laukikajñānaviṣayatvāt | pañcopādānaskandhā duḥkhamiti paramārthasatyena dukham, saṃniveśatathatāmukhena lokottarajñānaviṣayatvāt ||



duḥkhasāmānyalakṣaṇe yairākārairyogine duḥkhasatyaṃ vyavacārayanti, tadyathā'nityato duḥkhataḥ śūnyato'nātmataśca ||



tatra dvādaśavidhena lakṣaṇenānityaṃ duḥkhasatyaṃ veditavyam | tatpuna rasallakṣaṇaṃ yathā nāsti sarvadā duḥkhasatyamā[tmā]tmoyasvabhāvamiti yo'rthaḥ so'rtho'nityaṃ duḥkhasatyamiti | akārasya pratiṣedhārthatvāt nityaśabdasya ca sarvakālārthatvāditi | vināśalakṣaṇaṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ bhūtvā'bhāvaḥ | vipariṇatilakṣaṇaṃ prabandhāsādṛśyena pravṛttiḥ | viyogalakṣaṇaṃ tadavastheṣveva vastuṣu svabhāvavaśitvabhraṃśaḥ kvacitparaiḥ svīkaraṇamapi veditavyam | saṃnihitalakṣaṇaṃ yattadānīmevānubhūyamānānityatā | dharmatālakṣaṇaṃ yāmavaśyamanubhaviṣyati | kṣaṇalakṣaṇa mātmalābhānantaramavaśyavināśitā | prabandhalakṣaṇamanādimati saṃsāre ājavaṃjavī bhāvena vṛttiḥ | vyādhi jarāmaraṇalakṣaṇaṃ dhātuvaiṣamyaṃ khalityādikaṃ sthitikālāvedho payogaśca | cittacittākāravṛttilakṣaṇaṃ vipakṣapratipakṣāvasthānāvasthitatvam | bhogasaṃpatti lakṣaṇaṃ sarvalaukikasamṛddho nāmanātyantikatayā durantatvam | bhājana saṃvartavivartalakṣaṇaṃ mahāpṛthivyādināmagnyādibhiḥ punaḥ punavināśa[ta]utpādataśca, agnyambuvāyusaṃvartanībhirdahanakleda naśoṣaṇātmikābhiryathākramam | prathamadvitīyatṛtīyadhyānasthānāvasāne lokasaṃniveśe saṃvṛtte tadūrdhva yānyavaśiṣyante dvitīyatṛtīyacaturthadhyānasyānāntarāṇi tāni tāsāṃ śīrṣāṇi veditavyāni | caturthadhyānabhūmikānāṃ tarhi vimānānāṃ kena saṃvartavivartaḥ | na kena cidbāhyena, taireva tu sarvairjāyamānaiḥ saha tāni vimānāni nirvartante cyavamānaiḥ saha

tāni nirudhyanta iti | sa eva teṣāṃ saṃvartavivarto veditavyaḥ | yaiḥ kalpasya niryāṇaṃ bhavatīti parisamāptirbhavatītyarthaḥ | eko'ntarakalpo'pakarṣaḥ vivartakāle ekānnaviṃśati [ta]maḥ | aṣṭādaśa utkarṣāpakarṣāḥ | tata ūrdhvameka utkarṣaḥ paścimaḥ | āyukṣayānmaraṇaṃ kālacyutimadhikṛtya yāvadākṣepamāyuṣaḥ parisamāptatvāt | puṇyakṣayādakālacyuti [madhikṛtya] samāpattyāsvādanatayā tadāyurākṣepakakarmabhāvanopadhātāt | karmakṣayātprabandhacyutimadhikṛtya, tasminnāyatane upapadyāparaparyāyavedanīyakarmaṇa upayuktatvādabhāvādvā tatra rbhūyo'nutpattito veditavyam ||



aṣṭākāraṃ vā duḥkhamiti saṃbādhaduḥkhatādi | utpādāṃśikī anityatā abhūtvā bhāvaḥ, sa ca duḥkhapakṣyāṇāṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ bādhanātmakaḥ | iti tāmanityatāṃ pratītya duḥkhaduḥkhatā prajñāyate | vyayāṃśikī bhūtvā'bhāvaḥ, sa ca sukhapakṣyāṇāṃ saṃskārāṇāmanabhipretaḥ | iti tāṃ pratītya vipariṇāmaduḥkhatā prajñāyate | sadauṣṭhulyānāṃ saṃskārāṇāṃ prabandhe nodayo'pyanabhipretaḥ, vyayo'pīti tadubhayāṃśikīmanityatāṃ pratītya saṃskāraduḥkhatā prajñāyate | saṃskārāni tyatāṃ saṃskāra vipariṇāmatāṃ ca saṃdhāyoktam - mayā yatkiṃcidveditamidamatra duḥkhasyetyayamaduḥkhāsukhasya sukhasya ca veditasya duḥkha vacane'bhisaṃdhirveditavyaḥ | duḥkhasya tu veditasya duḥkhatvena prasiddhatvālloke na tatra punarabhisaṃdhirucyata iti | yeṣu cānityeṣu saṃskāreṣu jātyādikaṃ prajñāyate[teṣām] anityatvāt duḥkhamityabhisaṃdhirveditavyaḥ | anyathā mārgo'pyanityatvādduḥkhaṃ syāditi ||



śūnyatā lakṣaṇaṃ nityādilakṣaṇasyātmanaḥ saṃskārebhyo'rthāntarabhūtasya teṣvabhāvaḥ | teṣāṃ ca saṃskārāṇāṃ nityakālaṃ tadrahitaprakṛtikalakṣaṇasya nairātmyasya bhāvastadubhayaṃ śūnyatetyucyate | svabhāvaśūnyatā parikalpitaṃ svabhāva mu[pā]dāya, tasya sva lakṣaṇenaivābhāvāt | tathābhāvaśūnyatā paratantraṃ svabhāvamupādāya, tasya yena yena prakāreṇa parikalpyate tena tena prakāreṇābhāvāt | prakṛtiśūnyatā pariniṣpannaṃ sva bhāvamupādāya tasya śūnyatāprakṛtika tvāt ||



anātmalakṣaṇaṃ punasteṣāmeva saṃskārāṇāmātmavādibhiḥ parikalpitenātmalakṣaṇenānātmalakṣaṇatā ||



vināśādilakṣaṇā'nityatā prasiddhā, kṣaṇikalakṣaṇā tu na prasiddhā sarvasaṃskārāṇāmataḥ sā prasādhayitavyā | tatra cittacaitasikānāṃ kṣaṇikatvaṃ loke prasiddhamataḥ tenāprasiddhaṃ rūpasya kṣaṇikatvaṃ prasādhyate | kathamiti | cittopāttatāmupādāya, kṣaṇikena hi cittena kāya upātta | kenārthena | cittaikayogakṣematāmupādāya, tathāhi kāyaḥ savijñānaka eva samudāgacchati vijñānāpakrāntyā ca pūtībhavati | tasmāccittenaikayogakṣematvāttadivāsya kṣaṇikatvaṃ veditavyam | kiṃ ca cittāśrayatāmupādāya, cittasya hi [vi]kāreṇa kāyasya vikāro dṛśyate sukhaduḥkharāgadveṣādyavasthāsu | ataḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ vikāriṇaścetaso'nuvidhānāt kāyasya kṣaṇikatvaṃ siddham | cittādhipatyasaṃbhūtatāmupādāya, cittasya hi sendriyaḥ kāya āśrayaḥ prasiddhaḥ, yasya ca ya utpatyāśrayo nāsau svavināśamantareṇa tasyāśrayī bhava ndṛṣṭaḥ | tadyathāgnyaṃ kurādīnāmindhanabījādikaḥ | tasmātpratikṣaṇaṃ cittasyāśrayabhāvātpratikṣaṇameva vinaśyatīti siddham | cittasyādhipatyasaṃbhūtatāmupādāya, sarva hyādhyātmikabāhyaṃ rūpaṃ cittasyādhipatyena saṃbhavati | ataḥ kāraṇasya kṣaṇikatvātkāryasya kṣaṇi katvaṃ veditavyam, ye hetavo ye pratyayāḥ rūpasyātpādāya te'pyanityāḥ, anityān khalu hetupratyayān pratītyotpannaṃ rūpaṃ kuto nityaṃ bhaviṣyatīti sūtrapadānusāreṇa | cittavaśa varttitāṃ copādāya, prabhāvaviśiṣṭasya ca cittasya rūpaṃ vaśe vartate, tena yatheṣṭaṃ pariṇāmāt | ataḥ pratikṣaṇamanyathādhimokṣe satyanyathotpādātkṣaṇikatvasiddhiḥ | api khalu ante vikāropalabdhitāmupādāya, na hi pratikṣaṇaprakṛtivikāritāmantareṇākasmiko rūpasyānte vikāro yuktaḥ , sa copalabhyate | tasmātsvāsāṃtānikapratikṣaṇavikārābhivṛddhihetukatvādantyasya rūpavikārasya kṣaṇikaṃ rūpamiti siddham | utpannasya cānapekṣya pratyayaṃ svarasavināśitāmupādāya, sarvasyotpannasya vināśaḥ pratyayamanapekṣya svarasenaiva bhavati | ataḥ pratyayāntaranirapekṣo'vaśyaṃbhāvī vināśa utpannamātrasyaiva bhāvasya na bhavati paścādbhatīti [na] kiṃcidviśeṣaṇamasti | tasmātsarveṇa vināśinotpannamātreṇa vinaṣṭamiti siddhaṃ kṣaṇikatvam ||



ekapradeśāśrayibhāvārtha upādāyārthaḥ, bhūtadeśanirapekṣasya pṛthak svatantravṛttitāsāmārthyābhāvāt | asti samudāya ekabhautikastadyathā śuṣko mṛtpiṇḍaḥ | asti dvibhūtikaḥ sa evārdraḥ | asti tribhūtikaḥ sa evoṣṇaḥ | asti sarvabhūtikaḥ sa evārdra uṣṇaśca mṛtpiṇḍo gamanāvasthāyāmiti | asti samudāya ekopādāyarūpikastadyathā prabhā | dvyupādāyarūpikastadyathā śabda gandho vāyuḥ | tryupādāyarūpikastadyathā dhūmaḥ, tasya rūpagandhaspraṣṭavyaviśeṣaprabhāvitatvāt | spraṣṭavyaviśeṣaḥ punaratra laghutvaṃ veditavyam | caturupādāyarūpikastadyathā guḍapiṇḍaḥ | pañcopādāyarūpikastadyathā sa eva saśabdaḥ | itya[nya] trāpi yadyatropalabhyate bhūtaṃ bhautikaṃ vā tatra tadastīti veditavyaṃ nānyatra |



niḥ śarīraḥ paramāṇu riti niḥsvabhāvo vyavasthānamātramityarthaḥ, apakarṣamaryādābhāvāt | buddhyā paryantabhedatastu paramāṇu vyavasthānaṃ buddhyā yāvānavayapāpakarṣaparyantaḥ śakyate prabhettuṃ tāvatā paramāṇu vyavasthānaṃ kriyate | kiṃ punaḥ kāraṇaṃ yadevaṃ niḥśarīro'pi paramāṇurvyavasthāpyate | piṇḍasaṃjñāvibhā[va]natāmupādāya, avayavaśo hi buddhyā bhidyamāne rūpe sarvametadekaṃ rūpamiti piṇḍasaṃjñā vigacchati, yataḥ pudgalanairātmyapraveśasyānukūlyaṃ bhavatāīti | rūpadravyāpariniṣpattipraveśatāṃ copādāya, evaṃ hi buddhyā bhidyamānaṃ rūpaṃ na kiṃcidbhavatīti matvā rūpadravyasyāpariniṣpattiṃ praviśati, yato vijñaptimātrāvatāreṇa dharmanairātmyapraveśasyānukūlyaṃ bhavatīti ||



vipuladuḥkhamasaṃlikhitaṃ kāmāvacaramanupacitakuśalamūlānām, sarvaduḥkhatāgatiyoniprabhāvitatvāt kāmadhātoranupacittakuśalamūlatvenānāvṛtaṃ sarvagatigamanatvācca yathākramaṃ tadvipulamasaṃlikhitaṃ ca veditavyam saṃlikhitaṃ tadevotpannamokṣabhāgīyānām, avaśyaṃ parinirvāṇa niyamāt | saṃlikhitāsaṃlikhitaṃ tadeva kāmāvacaraṃ duḥkhaṃ laukikavairāgyāvaropitakuśalamūlānām, duḥkhaduḥkhatādisamatikramaniyamitatvādanātyantikatvācca yathākramam | evaṃ madhyāsaṃlikhitādīni yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyāni | mahāsaṃlekhapratyupasthānamanekasattvasaṃtānikaduḥkhāpanayana pratyupasthānāt ||



kuśalādicittasya maraṇamityātmasnehasaṃprayuktāccyuticittāpavargāvasthāmadhikṛtya veditavyam | manomaya upapādukatvena, cittamātrahetukatvāt | gandharvo gandhenārvaṇāt gandhānusāreṇo papattideśa [ga] manā dityarthaḥ | paraṃ saptāhaṃ tiṣṭhatya ntareṇa ca cyavate yadyupapattipratyayāna labhate | atha na labhate saptāhātpareṇa cyutvā punarantarābhava eva nivartate | evaṃ yāva [t] saptakṛtvaḥ tataḥ pareṇa ekadā ca vyāvartate yadi tadavasthā syādyatropapattipratya[ya] balavanta āmukhībhūtā bhavanti caturthadhyānalābhino'rhattvābhimānino bhikṣostadbhūmikāntarābhavābhinirvṛttau mokṣāpavādi kamithyādṛṣṭipratilambhānnārakāntarābhavābhi nirvṛttivat | tatrasthaśca karmopacinoti, pūrvāvedhavaśena kuśalādicetanāsamudācārāt | sabhāgāṃśca sattvānpaśyati yaiḥ saha pūrva tatkuśalamakuśalaṃ vā caritaṃ bhavati taiḥ saha vartamānamātmānaṃ svapna iva saṃjānīte | yatra cāsāvupapanno tatpūrvakālabhavākṛtirnirvartate | tata ūrdhvamindriyābhinirvṛttiryathā pratītyasamutpāda iti nāmarūpādyānupūrvyā | yathoktam -



kalalaṃ prathamaṃ bhavati kalalājjāyate'rvudam |

arbudājjāyate peśī peśī to jāyate dhanam ||

ghanātpraśākhā jāyante keśa lomanakhādayaḥ |

indriyāṇi ca rūpīṇi vyañjanādyanupūrvaśaḥ ||



samudayasatyaṃ yato duḥkha samudeti | tatpunaḥ katamat | kleśāḥ kleśādhipateyaṃ ca karma iti sāsravamityarthaḥ | yadyevaṃ kimartha bhagavatā tṛṣṇaiva samudaya nirdeśe nirdiṣṭā | sarvatragatvena prādhānyāt | tṛṣṇā vastusarvatragā prāptāprāptasarvātmabhāvaviṣayavastuvyāpanāt | prāpte ātmabhāve tṛṣṇā, aprāpte paunarbhavikī | prāpteṣu viṣayeṣu [nandīrāgasahagatā | aprāpteṣu viṣayeṣu ] tatratatrābhinandinī veditavyā | avasthāsarvatragā duḥkhaduḥkhatāditryavastheṣu saṃskāreṣvanuga[ ta]tvāt | tatra duḥkhaduḥkhatāvastheṣu prāpteṣu viyogatṛṣṇā, aprāpteṣvasaṃyogatṛṣṇā | vipariṇāmaduḥkhatāvastheṣu aviyogatṛṣṇā saṃyogatṛṣṇā ca, prāptāprāptabhedāt | saṃskāraduḥkhatāvastheṣu saṃmohatṛṣṇā, kleśadauṣṭhulyaprabhāvitatvādaduḥkhāsukhavedanāprabhāvitatvācca | ālayavijñānaṃ viśeṣeṇa saṃskāraduḥkhatāvasthaṃ tatra cātmasaṃmohasukhena tṛṣṇā pravṛttā veditavyā | adhvasarvatragā triṣvapyadhvasvanugatatvāt | atīte tāvadadhvanyapekṣākāreṇānugatā, anāgate abhinandanākāreṇa, pratyutpanne adhyavasānākāreṇa | dhātusarvatrikātraidhātukaspharaṇātkāmarūpārūpyatṛṣṇābhiḥ | eṣaṇāsarvatrikā tayā kāmabhavamithyābrahmacaryaiṣaṇāt | kāmaiṣaṇayā kāmadhātoraparimucyamānastatraiva duḥkhaṃ nirvartayati | tathā bhavaiṣaṇayā rūpārūpyadhātvoḥ dukha nirvartayati | mithyā brahmacaryaiṣaṇayā saṃsārādaparimucyamānastatra saṃsaratīti | prakārasarvatrikā śāśvatocchedaprakārānugatatvādbhavavibhava tṛṣṇābhyām ||



dṛṣṭeḥ prañcākāro bhedaḥ - satkāyadṛṣṭirantagrāhadṛṣṭimithyādṛṣṭiḥ dṛṣṭiparāmarśaḥ śīlavrataparāmarśa iti ||



apraśāntalakṣaṇatā kleśānāṃ sāmānyalakṣaṇaṃ veditavyam | sā punaḥ ṣaḍākārā tadyathā vikṣepāpraśāntatā viparyāsāpraśāntatā auddhatyāpraśāntatā styāna middhāpraśāntatā pramādāpraśāntatā'lajjāpraśāntatā ca ||



kleśānuśayaścāprahīṇo bhavatīti tatpakṣasya dauṣṭhulyasyāsamudghāti tatvāt | kleśasthānīyaśca dharma ābhāsagato bhavati raṃjanīyādiḥ | tatra cāyo niśomanaskāraḥ pratyavasthito bhavatīti tasminviṣaye śubhanimittādyudgrāhako rāgādyutpattyanukūlaḥ ||



avidyā dṛṣṭivicikitsā ūrdhvabhūmyālaṃvanā api santi na punarāsāṃ sā bhūmiḥ sākṣādālaṃvanaṃ veditavyaṃ yathā svabhūmiḥ, tatparikalpamukhapravṛttatvāt tu tadālaṃvanavyavasthānaṃ veditavyam | tatrāvidyā ūrdhvabhūmyālaṃvanā yā dṛṣṭisaṃprayuktā | dṛṣṭiḥ satkāyadṛṣṭi sthāpayitvā, na hi parabhūmikān saṃskārānahamityabhiniviśamāno dṛṣṭa iti | ūrdhvabhūmikasya tu kleśasyādhobhūmirālaṃvanaṃ na bhavati, tato vītarāgatvāt | nirodhamārgālaṃvanasya tau nālaṃvanam, lokottareṇa jñānena tatpṛṣṭhalabdhena vā pratyātmavedanīyatvāt | tat parikalpitaṃ tvasyālaṃvanamiti vaktavye tatparikalpastvasyālaṃvanamiti vacanam, tadavyatirekātparikalpitasya ||



rāgaḥ pratidhena na saṃ[pra]yujyate, ekāntaviruddhayorekatra vṛttyayogāt | vicikitsayāpi na saṃ [pra] yujyate, na hi vicikitsāvyavasthitabuddhiradhyavasyatīti | śiṣṭaistvasya mānādibhiraviruddhatvātsaṃprayogo veditavyaḥ | pratigho mānena dṛṣṭyā ca na saṃprayujyate, na hi yo yatra vastuni pratihatastena sa unnatiṃ gacchati tadvā saṃtīrayituṃ śaknotīti, evamanyadapi yojayitavyam || krodhādaya anyonyaṃ na saṃprayujyanta iti viruddhā viruddhairna saṃ[pra]yujyante | tadyathā rāgāṃśikāḥ pratighāṃsikaiḥ | aviruddhāstu kleśavadeva saṃprayujyanta iti veditavyam | āhrīkyānapatrāpyaṃ sarvatrākuśale saṃprayujyate, svaparanirapekṣatāmantareṇākuśalasatsa mudācārā saṃbhavāt | evaṃ styānādayaḥ sarvatra kliṣṭe yojayitavyāḥ, aka rmaṇyādikamantareṇa kliṣṭatvā saṃbhavāditi ||



yadyena prakāreṇa yasmin vastuni saṃprayojayati tannirdeśena saṃyojananirdeśo veditavyaḥ | kiṃ saṃyojayati | anunayasaṃyojanaṃ tāvattraidhātukarāgasvabhāvaṃ saṃyojayati | kena prakāreṇa saṃyojayati | tadvataḥ traidhātukānudvege satyakuśalasamudācarataḥ kuśalāsamudācarataśca | kasmin saṃyojayati | āyatyāṃ duḥkhābhinirvṛttau | evaṃ pratighasaṃyojanādiṣu yojayitavyaḥ | avidyāsaṃyojanena saṃprayukto duḥkhadharmān samudayadharmānnā dhyavasyati, phalahetubhūtānsāstravānsaṃskārāstadādīna vāparijñānāt | dṛṣṭisaṃyojanena saṃprayukto mithyāni saraṇaṃ paryeṣata ityaha mokṣo mama mokṣo muktaśca nityo bhaviṣyāsyu cchetsyāmi veti, na ca bauddhānāmasti mokṣa iti | parāmarśasaṃyojanena saṃ[pra]yukto mithyāniḥsaraṇopāyaṃ kalpayatyabhiniviśate, āryāṣṭāṅgaṃ mārga hitvā satkāyadṛṣṭayā tatpūrvakeṇa ca śīlavratena śuddhipratyayanāt ||



rāgādibandhanaivipariṇāmaduḥkhatādibandhanavacanaṃ sukhādivedanānuśayitatvāt | bāhyena hi bandhanena vaddho dvayaṃ na labhate - gantuṃ ca na labhate, āsīno'pi yatheṣṭamabhipretaceṣṭāyāṃ kāmakāraṃ na labhate | tatsādharmye ṇādhyātmikaṃ rāgādibandhanaṃ veditavyam ||



kāmaiṣaṇāyā aviratasya kāmarāgapratighānuśayā vanuśayā te, tanmukhena tayoḥ puṣṭigamanāt | mithyā mokṣaṃ mokṣopāyaṃ ca santīrayantīti yathākramaṃ tisṛbhirdṛṣṭibhirdvābhyāṃ ca parāmarśābhyāṃ yathā saṃyojaneṣūktamiti ||



ṣaḍ rāgādīn kleśān sthāpayitvā tadanyaḥ kliṣṭa ścaitasikaḥ saṃskāraskandhaḥ krodhādiko veditavyaḥ |



kuśalapakṣāntarāyāya yogināṃ punaḥpunaruddhegena cittaṃ paryavanahyantīti paryavasthānāni | kuśalapakṣaḥ punaryathākālaṃ śamathapragrahopekṣānimittabhāvanā tatsaṃniśrayaśca brahmacaryādiśuddhisaṃgṛhītaṃ śīlam | tatra śamathakāle styānamiddhamantarāyaṃ karoti, ādhyātmaṃ saṃkṣepāvāhanāt | pragrahakāleṃ auddhatyakaukṛtyam, bahirdhā vikṣepāvāhanāt | upekṣākāle īrṣyā mātsaryam, tadvataḥ parātmasaṃpattyamarśa grahamukhena muhurmuhuścittakaṃpanāt | śīlaviśuddhikāle āhvīkyānapatrāpyam, tadubhayavataḥ sarvathā''pattisthāneṣvalajjanāditi ||



saṃkleśavyavadānaguṇavaiguṇyārthena yathākramamoghayogavyavasthāna veditavyam | āśritāśrayasaṃbandhayo geneti dṛṣṭayau gha āśritaḥ, avidyaugha āśrayaḥ, saṃmohe sati mokṣatadupāyaviparītaṃ saṃtīraṇāt ||



dṛṣṭiśīlavratopādānābhyāṃ tīrthyā anyonyaṃ vivadanti, tatrānekamatyāt | ātmavādopādāne [na] tvanyonyaṃ na vivadanti, ātmano'stitvaṃ prati sarveṣāṃ matasāmyāt | ātmavādopādānena tīrthyāihadhārmikaiḥ sāddhai vivadanti, eṣāṃ nairātmyavāditvāt ||



abhidhyādayaḥ kāyagranthā iti na rūpakāyasyaitte granthā veditavyāḥ kiṃtarhi samāhitacittasvabhāvasya kāyasya parigranthārthena granthāḥ | pṛthagdṛṣṭisaṃniśrayeṇedameva satyaṃ moghamanyadityabhiniviśya jñeyaṃ saṃtīrayatāmayoniśo jñeyasaṃtīraṇahetoḥ cittaṃ vikṣipyate | kuto vikṣipyate | samāhitacittasya yathābhūtajñānadarśanataḥ ||



kuśalapakṣasyāsaṃprakhyānāya cittaṃ nivṛṇvantīti nivaraṇāni kuśalapravṛtterantarāyaṃ kurvantītyarthaḥ | kāmacchandaṃ pravrajyābhiraterantarāyaṃ karoti, viṣayopabhogābhilāpa mukhena tatra tatrābhi ramaṇāt | vyāpādaścodanāyāṃ samyakpratipatteḥ, sabrahmacāribhiḥ śikṣāsthāneṣu codya mānasya vyāpannacittatayā'samyakśaikṣaṇāt | styānamiddhamoddhatyakaukṛtyaṃ ca śamathapragrahayoḥ, pūrvavatsaṃkṣepavikṣepāvāhanādibhiḥ | vicikitsā upekṣāyām, niścaya mantareṇābhyupekṣitumaśakyatvāt ||



pratipakṣalāṃgarlaidurbhe dārthena khilavyavasthānaṃ veditavyam, janmāntarā bhyāsena khilībhūtatvāt ||



dauḥśīlyāśucisaṃbhāvanānimittatvānmalāḥ ||



punaḥ punaḥ saṃsāre jātijarāmaraṇayogena nidhnantīti nighāḥ ||



bhavabhogeṣu ratneṣu ca tṛṣṇāvicikatsāmukhenānupraviśya todanācchalyāḥ ||



bahūpakaraṇaparigraheṇa sakiṃcanaṃ kṛtvā bhayādibhiryojanāt kiṃcanāḥ ||



prāṇātipātādyakuśalacaryāvāhanādduścaritāni | lobhadveṣamohānāmevākuśalamūlatvena vyavasthānam , ebhirmukhaiḥ sattvānāṃ duścaritacaraṇāt | tatrāmiṣakiṃcitkahetoḥ bhogārthino lobhena duścaritaṃ caranti | apakāranimittaparikalpahetoḥ parāparādhāmarṣiṇo dveṣeṇa, mithyādharmābhiniveśahetoḥ viparītadarśino mohena duścaritaṃ caranti yājñikādaya iti ||



cittavisāraṃ stru taṃ kurvantītyāstravāḥ ||



kāyikacaitasikavighātakaratvādvighātāḥ ||



ayoniśonimittamanuvyañjanaṃ ca grāhayitvā kāyaṃ cittaṃ ca paridahantīti paridāhāḥ ||



rūpādike vastuni ratyadhyavasānaṃ kārayitvā tadvipariṇāme śokādibhiḥ sattvānāyāsantītyu pāyāsāḥ ||



raṇayanti śastrādānādibhiriti raṇāḥ ||



adharmarāgādimahāparidāhakaratvāt jvarā iva jvarā veditavyāḥ || tatrādharmarāgaḥ yo'kuśaleṣu karmapatheṇānurāgaḥ | viṣamalobho'nyāyenādharmeṇa viṣaya paryaṣṭiḥ | mithyādharmo durākhyāto dharmavinayo veditavyaḥ ||



jāti mūlaka saṃskārataruvanaṃ saṃjānayantīti vanasāḥ ||



kāyasāpekṣāditayā kuśalaprayogavibandhanādvibandhāḥ || kāyasāpekṣatādīni punaḥ pañca cetovinibandhānadhikṛtya ||



rāgo viṣaye dṛṣṭau ca vipratipanna iti bhāvanāprahātavyo darśanaprahātavyaśca yathākramam | śubhatā mātrālaṃbanatvādrāgasya yo'pi sattveṣu rāgaḥ so'pi viṣayamukhenaṃva vipratipanno veditavyaḥ | evaṃ pratikūlamātrālaṃbanatvāt pratighasya sattveṣvapi pravartamāno viṣayamukhenaiva vipratipanno veditavyaḥ || mānaḥ sattveṣu dṛṣṭau ca [vi] pratipannaḥ hīnādasmi śreyānityevamādyākārapravṛttatvātsatveṣu vipratipanno veditavyaḥ | satkāyāntagrāhamithyādṛṣṭayo jñeye vipratipannāḥ samāropāpavādamukhena yathāyogam | śīlavrataparāmarśādiḥ dṛṣṭau vipratipannaḥ dṛṣṭidoṣeṇaiva śīlavratasya śuddhitaḥ parāmarśanāt | vicikitsā pratipakṣe vipratipannā satyeṣu buddhirdvaghāpādanāt | te duḥkhasamudayayordaśāpi kleśā nidānaṃ bhavanti | tau ca teṣāṃ padasthānam | ataste tannidānapadasthānato vipratipannā ityucyante | nirodhe mārge cottrāsasaṃjananato vipratipannāḥ kleśavaśātsaṃsāre'bhiratasya vyavadānataḥ prapātasaṃjñātrāsāt | viparītakalpanataśca nirodhe mārge ca vipratipannā draṣṭavyāḥ, tīrthyairanyathā parikalpya tatra [vi]pratipatteḥ ||



kāmāvacaro rāgaḥ pañcavijñānakāyikaḥ sukhena saṃprayujyate | manovijñānakāyikaḥ saumanasyena | sarva upekṣayāprabandhoparatikāle | duḥkhadaurmanasyābhyāṃ tu na saṃprayujyate, harṣākārapravṛttatvāt ||



pratigho duḥkhena saṃprayujyate pañcavijñānakāyikaḥ, ṣaṣṭho daurmanasyena, sarva upekṣayā pūrvavat sukhasaumanasyābhyāṃ na saṃprayujyate, dainyākārapravṛttatvāt ||



mānaḥ kāmadhatau sukhena na saṃprayujyate, pañcavijñānakāyikābhāvāt | prathamadvitīyayostarhi dhyānayoḥ kathaṃ sukhena saṃprayujyate | manobhūmikena sukhena | kathaṃ tatra manobhūmikaṃ sukham | yattaducyate prītisukhamiti, yathoktam -"prītiḥ katamā | yā parivṛttāśrayasya parivṛttivijñānāśritā cittatuṣṭiḥ cittaudvilyaṃ cittaharṣaḥ cittakalpatā sātaṃ veditaṃ vedanāgatam | sukhaṃ katamat | yatparivṛttāśrayasyālayavijñānāśrita āśrayānugrahata āśrayahlādaḥ sātaṃ veditaṃ vedanāgatamiti |" tadetaduktaṃ bhavati | sukhā vedanā prathamadvitīyayordhyānayorutpadyamānā yena cittacaitakalāpena saṃprayujyate taṃ ca harṣākāreṇa prīṇayati, āśrayaṃ cālayavijñānasvabhāvaṃ prastrabdhisukhena hlādayati | atastadubhayakṛtyakaratvādubhayathaivāsyā vyavasthānaṃ veditavyaṃ prītiḥ sukhaṃ ceti | tasmāttayā saṃprayujyamāno mānaḥ sukhena saumanasyena ca saṃprayujyata ityucyate |



mithyādṛṣṭiḥ kāmadhātau daurmanasyena saumanasyena ca saṃprayujyate, sukṛtaduṣkṛtakāriṇāṃ tadvaiphalyadarśanenādhṛtiharṣotpādāt | sukhaduḥkhābhyāṃ na saṃprayujyate, manobhūmikatvāt sarvasyā dṛṣṭeḥ ||



vicikitsā kāmadhātau sauma nasyena na saṃprayujyate, aniścitacittasya nairvṛttyamantareṇa saumanasyābhāvāt | rūpadhātau vicikitsottaradhyāyināmapi prītisukhaṃ samādhivalādhānenānuvartata eveti tatra sukhasaumanasyābhyāmapi saṃprayujyate ||



āveṇikāyā apyavidyāyā eṣa eva nayo draṣṭavyaḥ sukha saumanasyābhyāṃ saṃprayogāsaṃprayogamārabhya ||



sarvakleśā upe kṣayā saṃprayujyante audāsīnyamāgamyāstagamanatāmupādāyeti kleśapravandhasya mandataratamatāgamanenoparatavegasyoparamaṇādante'vaśyamaudāsīnyamukhenopekṣāyāḥ saṃprayogo veditavyaḥ ||



rūpadhātau caturvijñānakāyikastatra ghrāṇajihvāvijñānābhāvāt | mānādayo manovijñānakāyikā eva, paritulanatāmukhapravṛttitvāt | mānasyaikadeśa pravṛttitvaṃ kenacidevāṃśenonnatigamanāt ||



kāmadhatau daśa dukhadarśanaprahātavyā iti ye tatra tannidānapadasthānato vipratipannāḥ | evaṃ samudayādiṣu yathāyogaṃ vipratipannāstaddarśanaprahātavyā iti veditavyāḥ | kiṃ khalu ye yadālaṃbanāste tatra vipratipannā iti veditavyāḥ | nāvaśyam, anāstravālaṃvanānāṃ sāstrave vastunyanuśayā diti | rūpadhātau pratidhābhāvānnava eva duḥkhādidarśanaprahātavyā veditavyāḥ | evamārūpyadhātau | sahajā satkāyadṛṣṭiḥ kā bhāvanāprahātavyā | yāmadhiṣṭhāyotpannadarśanamārgasyāpyārya śrāvakasyāsmimānaḥ samudācarati | yathoktam -" nāhamāyuṣmandāsakemān pañcopādānaskandhānātmata [ā]tmīyato vā samanupaśyāmyapi tvasti me eṣu pañcasūpādānaskandheṣvasmīti māno'smīti chando'smītyanuśayo'prahīṇo'parijñāto'nirodhito'vāntīkṛta iti | yathā kliṣṭasya dhātrīcailasyoṣādibhiḥ sudhautasya nirmalasyāpi satastadadhivāsanākṛtaṃ gandhamātramanuvartate yattatsugandhadravyaparibhāvanayā bhūyo'pyapanetavyaṃ bhavatyevameva darśanamārgeṇa prahīṇaparikalpitasatkāyadṛṣṭimalasyāpyāryaśrāvakasya pūrvābhiniveśābhyāsakṛtamaparicchinnavastukamātmadarśanamanuvartate yattatpunarmārgabhāvanayā prahātavyaṃ bhavatīti | antagrāhadṛṣṭiḥ sahajocchedadṛṣṭisaṃgṛhītā veditavyā, yayā nirvāṇāt pratyudāvartate mānasaṃ paritrasanamupādāyātha kastarhi me ātmeti | rāgādayo bhāvanāprahātavyā dṛṣṭipakṣān muktvā ||



tannidānavastuparijñānaṃ kleśānuśayaścā prahīṇo bhavatyevamādi pūrvavat | svabhāvaparijñānaṃ kleśa eṣa utpannaḥ cittasaṃkleśātmaka iti | ādīnavaparijñānabhātmā vyāvādhāya saṃvartate paravyābādhāyobhaya vyā[bā]dhāya, dṛṣṭadhāmikamavadyaṃ prasavati sāṃparāyikaṃ dṛṣṭadharmasāṃparāyikamavadyaṃ prasavati tajjaṃ caitasikaṃ duḥkhadaurmanasyaṃ pratisaṃvedayata ityevaṃ tribhiḥ prakāraiḥ parijñāyotpannaḥ kleśo 'nadhivāsanayogena parivarjyate | anutpannasya tvanutpādāya mārgo bhāvyate ||



asabhinnālaṃbanena manaskāreṇeti miśrālaṃbanena sarvadharmasāmānya lakṣaṇākāreṇetyarthaḥ | yadi sarvadharmā anātmana iti nairātmyajñānenaiva kleśaprahāṇaṃ bhavatyanityādyākārāḥ kimarthamupadiśyante | na te kleśaprahāṇārtha kiṃtarhyanātmākāraparikarmārtham | anityākāraṃ hi niḥsṛtyānātmākāraḥ | yathoktam -" yadanityaṃ taddukhaṃ yaddukhaṃ tadanātmeti" | ata evānātmākārasyānuttayai vyavasthānam | ānuttaryāṇyārabhya trīṇyānuttaryāṇi - jñānānuttarya pratipadānuttarya vimuktyānuttayai ca | tatra jñānānuttarya nairātmyajñānam, tataḥ pareṇa jñānāntarāparyeṣaṇā[t] | pratipadānuttarya sukhā kṣiprābhijñā, tasyāḥ sarvapratipadagratvāt | vimuktyānuttarya maśaikṣākopyā ca vimuktiḥ, sarva vimukti prativiśiṣṭatvāt | etāni ca trīṇyānuttaryāṇi yathākramaṃ darśana bhāvanāniṣṭhā mārgānadhikṛtya veditavyāni ||



upalabdhikarma cakṣurādīnāṃ rūpadarśanādi | kāritrakarma pṛthivyādīnāṃ dhāraṇādi yadvā yasya svalakṣaṇakṛtyam | tadyathā rūpaṇā rūpasyetyevamādi | vyavasāyakarmābhisaṃdhipūrvakaṃ kāyādikarma | pariṇatikarma suvarṇakārādīnāmalaṃkārādi | prāptikarmāryamārgādīnāṃ nirvāṇādhigamādi || asmiṃstvarthe yadbhūyasyā vyavasā karmābhipretamiti prāpti kāritrakarmaṇorapi saṃbhavāt ||



kāyādikarma karmapathā iti sūtrānusāreṇa yathāpradhānaṃ nirdeśo veditavyaḥ, tatprayogādīnāpi kāyādikarmāntarbhāvāt | trayaścatvārastrayaśca karmapathā yathākramaṃ kāyavāṅmanaḥkarmalakṣaṇā veditavyāḥ || prāṇātipātādīnāṃ vastu sattvasaṃkhyātamasattvasaṃkhyātaṃ vā yathāyogaṃ yadadhiṣṭhāya prāṇātipātādayaḥ pravartante | āśayastatra vastuni tatsaṃjñāśayastatkarmapathakriyecchāśayaśca | prayogastatkriyāyai svayaṃ parairvā kāyavāṅmanobhirārambhaḥ | kleśaḥ lobhadveṣamohā yathāyogaṃ samastavyastāḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ tena tena prayogeṇa tasya tasya karmaṇaḥ paripūraṇaṃ tatkālamūrdhvakālaṃ vā || tatra prāṇātipātasya vastu sattvaḥ | āśayastatra tatsaṃjñino vadhābhiprāyaḥ | prayogo vadho yatpraharaṇādibhiḥ | kleśo lobhādikaḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ tasya prāṇinastena prayogeṇānantaraṃ praścādvā maraṇam || adattādānādonāṃ vastu ca niṣṭhāgamanaṃ ca nirdhekṣyāmaḥ | śeṣaṃ yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyam | adattādānasya vastu paraparigṛhītaṃ sattvasaṃkhyātama sattvasaṃkhyātaṃ vā | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ tatsvīkaraṇam | kāmamithyācārasya vastvagamyā strī gamyā vānaṅgādeśākāle vamātrāyuktābhyāṃ ca sarvaśca pumātrapuṃsakaṃ ca | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ dvayadvayasamāpattiḥ | mṛṣāvādasya vastu dṛṣṭaṃ śrutaṃ mataṃ vijñātamadṛṣṭamaśrutamamatamavijñātaṃ ca |



āśayo'nyathāvatkukāmatā | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ parṣatprativādivijñāpanam | paiśunyasya vastu samagravyagrāḥ sattvāḥ | āśayasteṣāmeva bhedāpratisaṃdhānābhiprāyaḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ bhedyavijñā panam | pāruṣyasya vastvāghātanimittabhūtāḥ sattvāḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ pārūṣāṇām | saṃbhinnapralāpasya vastvanarthopasaṃgṛhītārthaḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ tasya bhāṣaṇam | abhidhyāyā vastu parakīyaṃ vittopakaraṇam | āśayastatra tatsaṃjñinastathāruciḥ | prayogastatsvīkaraṇa saṃpradhāraṇam | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ tatsvīkaraṇaniścayaḥ | vyāpādasya vastvāghātanimittabhūtāḥ sattvāḥ | niṣṭhāgamanaṃ prahanananiścayaḥ | mithyādṛṣṭervastu sannarthaḥ | āśayaḥ satyatatsaṃjñina stathāruciḥ | niṣṭhāgamanamapavādaniścayaḥ ||



parājñaptisaṃcetanīyatā yathā kaścidanicchannapi parairvalādājñāpya mano'bhisaṃghāyākuśalamācarati | parasaṃjñaptisaṃcetanīyatā yathā kaścidanicchanniva paraiḥ saṃjñāpyamānaḥ samādāpyamāno hitametaditi grāhyamāṇo'bhisaṃghāyā kuśalamācarati | avijñāya saṃcetanīyatā yathā kaścidguṇadoṣānabhijño'nabhiniviṣṭaḥ yadṛcchayābhisaṃdhāyākuśalamācarati | mūlābhiniveśasaṃceta nīyatā yathā kaścidkuśalamūlaiḥ lobhādibhirabhibhūta āviṣṭacittastīvreṇābhini veśenābhisaṃghāyākuśalamā carati | viparyāsasaṃcetanīyatā yathā kaściddharmakāmo viṣamahetudṛṣṭi rāyatyāmiṣṭaphalārthamabhisaṃdhāyā kuśalamā carati | tatra pūrvikābhistisṛbhiḥ saṃcetanīyatābhiḥ kṛtamapi karma naivopacīyate yato'sya nāvaśyaṃ vipākaḥ pratisaṃvedanīyaḥ | paścimābhyāṃ tu saṃcetanīyābhyāṃ yadi kṛtaṃ bhavatyupacitaṃ cāvaśyamevāsya vipākaḥ pratisaṃvedyate | upacayo vāsanāvṛddhirityālayavijñāne vipākabīja paripoṣaṇaṃ veditavyam ||



karmakriyāniyamaḥ pūrvakarmabhireva niyamya vipākasaṃtatirāviddhā bhavati | yadasmin janmanyanenedaṃ karma karaṇīyamiti sa tamavadhi malaṃghayitvā tatkarma karoti, yasyākaraṇāya pratibandhaṃ buddhā api bhagavanto na samarthāḥ kartum yathāhetuniyamanaṃ phalasaṃtānapariṇāmāditi | vipākapratisaṃvedanāniyamaḥ saṃcetanīyasya karmaṇaḥ pūrvavat | avasthāniyame dṛṣṭadharmavedanīyādi bhiravasthāpi niyamitā bhavatīti | yathānena vipākena dṛṣṭe dharme bhavitavyamanenopa padyānenāparasmin paryāya iti ||



aku śalānāṃ karmapathānāṃ mṛdumadhyādhi mātrāṇāṃ vipākaphalaṃ tiryakpretanarakeṣu veditavyam | niṣyandaphalamapāyebhyaścyutvā manuṣyeṣūpapannānaṃ pratyekaṃ prāṇātipātādattādānādyānurūpyeṇātmabhāvaparigrahayorvipattiḥ | tadyathā'lpāyuṣkatā dāridrayamityevamādi yathāyogam | adhipatiphalaṃ pratyekaṃ tadānurūpyeṇaṃva bāhyānāṃ bhāvānāṃ [sa] syādīnāṃ vipattiḥ | tadyathā prāṇātipātasyādhipatyenālpaujaso bhavantyeva mādi ||



yathāsūtram - "sarvairdaśabhirakuśalaiḥ karmapathairāsevitairbhāvitairbahulīkṛtairnarakeṣū papadyate | tadeṣāṃ vipākaphalam | sa cedicchatva māgacchati manuṣyāṇāṃ sabhāgatām, prāṇātipātenālpāyurbhavati adattādānena bhogavyasanī bhavati | kāmamithyācāreṇa sasapatna dāraḥ | mṛṣāvādenā bhyākhyānabahulaḥ | paiśūnyena mitrabhedo'sya bhavati | pāruṣyeṇāmanojñaśabdaśravaṇaṃ bhavati | saṃbhinnapralāpenānādeyavākyaḥ | abhidhyayā tīvrarāgaḥ | vyā pādena tīvradveṣaḥ | mithyādṛṣṭayā tīvramohaḥ, tasyā mohabhūyastvāt | idameṣāṃ niṣyandaphalam | prāṇātipātenātyāsevitena bāhyābhāvā alpaujaso bhavanti | adattā dānenāśanirajobahulāḥ | kāmamithyācāreṇa rajo'vakīrṇāḥ | mṛṣāvādena dugandhāḥ | paśūnyenotkūlani kūlāḥ | pārūṣyeṇoṣarajaṅgalāḥ pratikrusṭāḥ pāpabhūmayaḥ | saṃbhinnapralāpena viṣamartupariṇāmāḥ | abhidhyayā sūkṣmaphalāḥ | vyāpādena kaṭukaphalāḥ | mithyādṛṣṭayā'lpaphalā aphalā vā | idameṣāmadhipatiphalam ||



daśānāṃ kuśalānāṃ karmapathānāṃ vipākaphalaṃ devamanuṣyeṣu | niṣyandaphalaṃ teṣveva pratyekamānurūpyeṇātmabhāvaparigrahasaṃpattiḥ |



yathā'kuśalānāṃ karmapathānāṃ vipākaphalādi triphalā vasthānaṃ kṛtam, evaṃ kuśalādīnāṃ karmapathānāṃ sāstravāṇāṃ devamanuṣyeṣu trīṇi phalāni yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyāni ||



ekena karmaṇā ekamātmabhāvamākṣipati, ekena karma[kṣa]ṇenaika janmikasyaiva vipākasya bījapoṣaṇāt | ekenānekamākṣipati, tenaivānekajanmikavipākabījapoṣaṇāt | anekenaikamākṣipati, bahubhiḥ karmakṣaṇaiḥ tasyaivaikasya punaḥ punaḥ bījapoṣaṇāt | anekenānekamākṣipati, bahubhiranyonyāpekṣayā janmaparaṃparābījapoṣaṇāditi ||



kena kāraṇena rūpārūpyapratisaṃyuktaṃ kuśalamānijyamityucyate | yathā kāmāvacaramanyagatikamapi paripūrakaṃ kuśalamūlamanyatra vipākaṃ prayacchati, naivaṃ rūpyārūpyā vacaram, bhūminaiyamyena phaladānāt | ato vipākadānaṃ pratyakampanārthenānijyamuktaṃ samāhitabhūmikatvāccākampanārthe [ne]ti ||



phalavipākasaṃmūḍhasyāpuṇyāḥ saṃskārāḥ saṃbhavanti, teṣāmekāntakliṣṭatvenāvidyāsāṃnidhye sati phalavipākābhisaṃpratyayākārāyāḥ samyagdṛṣṭeranavakāśāt | tattvārthasaṃmūḍhasya puṇyāniṃjyā stattvārtha ucyate catvāryāyaṃ satyāni | tatra saṃmohaḥ kuśalacittānāmapyadṛṣṭasatyānāmanuśayato'nubuddho bhavati yadvaśena te duḥkhatastraidhātukasya yathābhūtamaparijñānāt punarbhavahetubhūtān puṇyānijyasaṃskārānutthāpayanti | na tvevaṃ dṛṣṭasatyāstattvārthasaṃmohābhāvāt | ataste taddhetukā ityucyante ||



prāṇātipātasya lobhena prayogo māṃsikādīnām | dveṣeṇaiva vairaniryātanakāmānām | mohena yājñikādīnām | dveṣeṇaiva niṣṭhā nirghṛṇatāmantareṇa parasattvavipādanāsaṃbhavāt | evaṃ pāruṣyādīnāṃ yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyam |

abhidhyādīnāṃ kathaṃ lobhādibhiḥ prayogaḥ | tatrābhidhyākarmapathaḥ paravittopakaraṇasvīkaraṇaniścaya ityuktam | tadyadi tenaiva vittopakaraṇenārthī bhava[ti]tatsvīkaraṇāyābhisaṃskarotyato'sya lobhena prayogo vyavasthāpyate | atha maivāsya bhūdityevaṃ dveṣeṇa | atha parasvīkaraṇe na kaściddoṣa iti mohena prayogo veditavyaḥ | evamanyadapi yojayitavyam ||



anyonyādhipateyamapi karma sādhāraṇaṃ veditavyaṃ yadvaśātsattvā anyonyaṃ citacai ttapariṇāmanimittaṃ bhavantīti ||



vaipakṣikāt karmaṇaḥ prātipakṣikai karma bala[va]ddraṣṭavyam, pratipakṣabalenākṣiptasyāpi vipakṣaphalasyānyathātvāpādanāt | sarva ca kuśalaṃ karma saṃcetanīyaṃ pratipakṣabalikasyākuśalād balavaddraṣṭavyam | pratipakṣavala durbalasya tvakuśalaṃ kuśalā dbalavat | sarva cāviśeṣeṇa kuśalākuśalaṃ niyatavipākamārya mārgeṇāprahīṇaṃ balavadityucyate | kāmapratisaṃyuktamakuśalaṃ prakṛtyā balavat, kleśopakleśādibahuparivāratvāt | yadyapi pūrvā bhyastaṃ tadapi balavat, saṃtatestena bhāvitatvāt | yadapi padasthaṃ paripūrṇa vayasām, tībrābhi niveśaprasādakaraṇāt |yadapyasādhyamaparinirvāṇadharmakāṇām, pratipakṣeṇānuddhāryatvāt | kṣetrato'pi mātṛbadhādikam | cittābhisaṃskārato'pi mahābodhipraṇidhānādikaṃ balavatkarma veditavyam | punarnava bhirākārairbalavatkarma veditavyam | tadyathā kṣetrato yadi guṇavaddakṣiṇīyaṃ kṣetraṃ bhavati | vastuno yadi praṇītaṃ prabhūtaṃ deyavastu bhavati | svabhāvato dānācchīlaṃ śīlādbhāvanetyevamādiḥ | āśrayataḥ puṇyānāṃ kartā yadi vītarāgo bhavati | manaskārato yadi tīvraprasādasahagato manaskāro bhavati | āśayato yadi nirvāṇāśayo bhavati | sahāyato yadi tadanyapuṇyakriyāvastuparigṛhītaṃ bhavati | bahulīkārataḥ yadi paunaḥ punye na kṛtaṃ bhavatyanuvitarkitaṃ vā | bāhujanyato yadi svayaṃ ca kṛtaṃ bhavatyanyaiśca kāritamiti ||



ya evaṃ vadet - yathā yathāyaṃ puruṣapudgalaḥ karma karotyupacinoti tathā tathā vipākaṃ pratisaṃvedayata ityevaṃ sati brahmacarya vāso na bhavatyavakā śaśca na prajñāyate samyagduḥkhakṣayāya duḥkhasyāntakriyāyai | kathaṃ kṛtvā brahmacaryavāso na bhavati | tībrakleśasya pratisaṃkhyāya sahaduḥkhena sahadaurmanasyena śīlaparipālanāt | yadi tadvipākastathaiva sahaduḥkhena sahadaurmanasyenānubhūyeta vṛthā tatparipālanaṃ syāt | pāradārikaprabhṛtīnāṃ ca sahasukhena sahasaumanasyena dauḥ śīlyakaraṇādyadi tadvipākastathaivānubhūyeta vṛthā tadviratiḥ syādityevaṃ kṛtvā brahmacaryavāso na bhavati || kathamavakāśaśca na prajñāyate samyagduḥkhakṣayāya duḥkhasyāntakriyāyai | ata eva tadupaniṣadbhatasya brahmacaryavāsasya duḥkhavipākatvāditi | evaṃ ca kṛtvā sukhasahagatasya karmaṇaḥ sukhasahagata eva vipāko duḥkhasahagatasya duḥkhasahagato 'duḥkhāsukhasahagatasya tatsahagata eveti niyamaḥ pratiṣiddhaḥ || atra ya stvevaṃ yathāvedanīyaṃ yathāvedanīyamityevamādinā sukhasahagatasya kuśalākuśalasya yathāyogamāyatyāṃ sukhaduḥkhāduḥkhāsukhavedanīyasya sukhādiko vipāko'nujñātaḥ | evaṃ duḥkhāduḥkhāsukhasahagatasya sukhādive danīyasya sukhādiko vipāko'nujñāyata iti ||



pravrajitasya saṃvaraḥ pañcavidho bhikṣusaṃvaro yāvacchāmaṇerīsaṃvara iti | sa duścaritavivekacaritaṃ kāmavivekacaritaṃ ca pudgalamadhikṛtya vyavasthāpitaḥ | tathāhi sa tādṛśaḥ śaknoti yāvajjīvaṃ prāṇātipātāda brahmacaryācca virantumiti | upāsakopāsikāsaṃvaro duścaritaviveka caritamadhikṛtya no tu kāmavivekacaritam | ataḥ evāsya yāvajjīvaṃ kāmamithyā cāraviratirvyavasthāpyate nābrahmacaryaviratiriti | upavāsasaṃvaro naiva duścarita vivekacaritaṃ na kāmavivekacaritam | ata evāsyāhorātrika upavāsasaṃvaraḥ prajñaptaḥ, śanaistadubhayābhyasanārthamiti | yathā paṇḍapaṇḍakānāṃ bhikṣubhikṣuṇī pakṣopāsanāyogyatvādupāsakatvapratiṣedhaḥ, evamubhayavyañjanānāmapi strīpuruṣakleśasamudācāreṇobhayapakṣopāsanāyogyateti na te pṛthaguktāḥ | dhyāna saṃvaro dauḥ śīlyasamutthāpakānāṃ lobhādīnāṃ kāmāvacarāṇāṃ kleśopakleśānā viṣkambhaṇapratipakṣeṇa bījopaghāte sati pradeśa vairāgyeṇāpi kāmebhyo bītarāgasya yā tasmādvauḥ śīlyādviratiḥ | yāvattṛtīyadhyānavītarāgasya dūrībhāvapratipakṣeṇa teṣāmeva dauḥśīlyasamutthāpakānāṃ sularāṃ bījopaghāto veditavyaḥ | caturthadhyānavītarāgasya tvārūpyeṣu rūpābhāvāccholasaṃvarāvyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||



aurabhrikā ye paśūn hatvā tadvikrayeṇa jīvikāṃ kalpayanti | evaṃ kaukkuṭikādayo yathāsaṃbhavaṃ yojayitavyāḥ | nāgabandhakā araṇyāt hastino vaddhavāda[ma]yanti | nāgamaṇḍalikā ye sarpānādāya tatkrīḍanairjīvanti | mūtrakā ye parān paiśunyenopahatva jīvanti | abhijanmato vā tatkarmasamādānato veti tatkulīnasyānyakulīnasya ca yathākramam | kāyavākprayogapūrvakaḥ tatkarmādhyācāraniścayo'saṃvara ityucyate |



yathoktasaṃvarāsaṃvaravinirmuktasya dānapriyavacanādikaṃ khaṭacapeṭādikaṃ ca karma navasaṃvaronāsaṃvara ityucyate ||



dṛṣṭadharmavedanīyaṃ karma yatra janmani kṛtaṃ tatraiva yadvipacyate | upapadyavedanīyaṃ yadanantare janmani, tadyathā pañcānantaryāṇi karmāṇi | yasya tāvadeka mevānantarya tasya tadvipāko'nantaraṃ yuktaḥ, yasyedānīṃ saṃbahulāni tasya kathaṃ tadvipākapratisaṃvedanā | sarveṣāṃ yugapadvipākaḥ pratisaṃvidyate, tathāhyanekānantaryakāriṇa āśrayaḥ sukumārataro nirvartate, kāraṇāśca bahutīvravicitrā yadvaśādbhūyasīṃ vedanāṃ pratyanubhavati ||



ārambhaṃ ca pratyetāni dṛṣṭadharmavedanīyādīni vyavasthāpyante, na tanmātravedanīyatāmadhikṛtya | yasya tatraiva janmani vipāko vipaktumārabhate taddṛṣṭadharmavedanīyam | yasyānantare janmanyārabhate tadupapadyavedanīyam | yasyānantaraṃ janma laghayitvārabhate tadaparaparyāyavedanīyami tyevaṃ ca kṛtvā hācittāvadāne - " ānantaryasya karmaṇo narake punaḥpunaścyutyupapādena vipākapratisaṃvedanam" - anulomitaṃ bhavatīti ||



kṛṣṇaṃ kṛṣṇavipākaṃ karmākuśalam, kliṣṭatvādaniṣṭavipākatvācca ||



viparyayācchuklaṃ śuklavipākaṃ traidhātukaṃ kuśalam ||



kṛṣṇaśuklaṃ kṛṣṇaśuklavipākaṃ yatkāmapratisaṃyuktaṃ vipākaṃ vyāmiśraṃ kuśalākuśalamityarthaḥ | kathamekaṃ kuśalaṃ bhavatyakuśalaṃ ca | nātra pravṛttikṣaṇanaiyamyenocyate tadevobhayamityapi tu sahāśayaprayogeṇaikaṃ karmetyayamatrābhi saṃdhirvedivyaḥ | tayośca kṛṣṇaśuklatāṃ pratyanyonyāsādṛśye satyekaṃ karma kṛṣṇaśuklaṃ vyavasthāpyate | tatrāśayataḥ kṛṣṇaṃ prayogataḥ śuklaṃ yathāpi kaścitparān vañcayitukāmasteṣāṃ saṃpratyayananimittaṃ bhāvena dānāni dadāti yāvatpravrajatyapi | prayogataḥ kṛṣṇamāśayataḥ śuklaṃ yathāpi kaścitputraṃ vā śiṣyaṃ vā'hitānnivārayitukāmo hite ca niyojayitukāmo'nukampācittaḥ kāyena vācāvā paruṣayā tasminkāle saṃkliśyate ||



akṛṣṇaśuklāvipākaṃ karma karmakṣayāya saṃvartate prayogānantarya mārgeṣvanāsravaṃ karma prayogamārgā nantaryamārgāṇāṃ prahāṇapratipakṣatvāt | tatrākṛṣṇaṃ kleśamalābhāvāt | śuklamekāntavyavadānatvāt | avipākaṃ saṃsāravirodhitvāt | karmakṣayāya saṃvartate'syaiva kṛṣṇādikasya trividhasya sāsravasya karmaṇastenānāstraveṇa karmaṇā vipākadānavāsanāsamudghātāt ||



aviśeṣeṇa ca sarvasyānāsravasya karmaṇaḥ paripanthamānukūlyaṃ svabhāva madhikṛtya vaṃkadoṣakaṣāyāṇāṃ śauceyānāṃ mauneyānāṃ ca yathākramaṃ vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||



tatra vaṃka mṛjukamārgasyāṣṭāṅgasyotpattyāvaraṇabhūtaṃ kāyavāṅmanaḥkarma | doṣo yena kāyādikarmaṇā dūṣite saṃtāne tattādṛśamāvaraṇabhūtaṃ karmotpadyate | kaṣāyāḥ tīrthikadṛṣṭisaṃniśritaṃ kāyādi karma, buddhaśāsanaprasādavipakṣeṇāśraddhaya kāluṣyaparigṛhītatvāt | aparaḥ paryāyaḥ - śāśvatocchedānupatitaṃ madhyamāpratipadvirodhārthena vaṃkam | apavādadṛṣṭiparigṛhītaṃ vyavadānavyavasthānapradveṣārthena doṣaḥ | satkāyadṛṣṭiparigṛhītaṃ nairātmyatattvadarśanaprativaddhā rthena kaṣāya iti ||



śauceyāni suviśuddhaśīlasaṃgṛhītamṛjudṛṣṭisaṃgṛhītaṃ ca yatkāyavāṅmanaḥkarma, śīladṛṣṭivipattimalavarjitatvāt | mauneyāni śaikṣāśaikṣāṇāṃ yadanāsravaṃ kāyavāṅmanaḥkarma munīnāṃ tatkarmeti kṛtvā | dānasaṃpadamadhikṛtya dānaṃ dātā bhaviṣyatītya nenābhīkṣṇadānatāṃ darśayati, tacchīlatayā punaḥ punardānāt | śramaṇebhyo brāhmaṇebhya ityevamādinā'pakṣapāta dānatām, aviśeṣe ṇa sarvārthibhyo dānāta |



annapānamityevamādinecchāparipūraṇadānatām, yathābhiprāyaṃ sarvopakaraṇavastuparityāgāt | muktyāgaḥ pratatapāṇirvyavasargarato yāyajūkastyāgasaṃpanno dāna saṃvibhāgarata ityebhiḥ padairyathākramamaniśritadānatādayo veditavyāḥ | aniśritadānatā punarbhavabhogāpariṇāmitatvena veditavyā || deyasaṃpadamadhikṛtyothāna vīryādhigatairityanenānabhidrugdhadeyavastutāṃ darśayati | abhidrugdhaṃ hyanutthānabīryādhigataṃ bhavati, svasthāne sthitvā paranikṣepā[pa]lapanena pratilabdhatvāt | bāhubalopārjitairityanenāparāpahṛtadeyavastutām | parebhyo hyapahṛtaṃ na bāhuvalopārjitaṃ bhavati, taiḥ kṛcchreṇa vividhairūpāyairajitasyāpaharaṇāt | svedamalā pakṣiptairityane nākuthitavimaladeyavastutām, svedamalābhyāmapakṣiptatvādujjhitatvādityarthaḥ | dhārmikairityanena kalpika deyavastutām, śastraviṣamadyādyakalpikavastuvivarjitatvāt | dharma labdhairityaneta dharmārjitadeyavastutāṃ darśayati, tulākūlādimithyājīva parivarjanenopārjitatvāt ||



śīlaṃ samādāyākhaṇḍanena tadyogācchīlavān bhavati | mokṣaṃ prati yaḥ saṃvaraḥ sa prātimokṣasaṃvaraḥ | sa hi saṃsārānniryāṇāya bhavati | ācārasaṃpannaḥ sadbhiragarhiteryāpathāditvāt | gocarasaṃpannaḥ pañcāgocaraparivarjanāt | pañca bhikṣoragocarāḥ - ghoṣo veśaḥ pānāgāraṃ rājakulaṃ caṇḍālakaṭhinameva pañcamam | prajñaptisāvadyeṣvapi prakṛtisāvadye ṣviva tīvreṇa gauraveṇa śikṣaṇādaṇumātreṣvavadyeṣu bhayadarśī bhavati | samantāt paripūrṇa śikṣāmādāya śikṣate śikṣāpadeṣvityucyate ||



ataḥ paraṃ śīlamārabhya yadbhagavatā sūtrāntareṣu nirdiṣṭaṃ kāyena saṃvṛto bhavatītyevamādi tasyārtha ucyate | tatra kāyena vācā saṃvṛto bhavati saṃprajanyaparigṛhītatayā yathanujñātamabhikramapratikramādiṣu buddhipūrva samyagvartanāt |

kāyavāksaṃpattyā saṃpannaḥ āpattyanadhyāpannatayā śīlāvipādanāt | pariśuddhakāya vākasamudācāraḥ samādhisaṃniśrayatayā samādhibalena dauḥśīlyamaladūrīkaraṇāt | kuśala[kāya] vāksamudā cāraḥ kliṣṭavitarkāvyavakīrṇatayaikāntaśubhatvāt | anavadyakāyavāksamudācāro bhavabhogāpariṇāmitatvena sadbhiḥ praśasta tvāt | avyābadhyakāyavāksamudācāra ātmotkarṣaṇādibhiḥ pareṣāmavajñāduḥkhasaṃvāsenāghaṭṭanāt | ānulomikakāyavāksamudācāro nirvāṇānuprāptyanukūlatayāryamārgāvāhanāt | anucchavikakāyavāksamudācāraḥ svadoṣaguṇāviṣkambhaṇachādanārtham | opayikakāyavāksamudācāraḥ sabrahmacāryupagrahaṇaśīlatayopagamanārhatvāt | pratirūpakāyavāksamudācāro guruṣu gurusthānīyeṣu ca nihitamānatayā yathārhamupacaraṇāt | pradakṣiṇakāyavāksamudācāro'vavāde pradakṣiṇagrāhitayā'svayaṃdṛṣṭiparāmarśatvāt | ataptakāyavāksamudācāraḥ kaṣṭatapolūhādhimuktivivarjitatayā'nātmatapatvāt | ananutāpyakāyavāksamudācāraḥ samutsṛṣṭān bhogān karmāntāṃścārabhyāvipratisāritayā paścātāpābhāvāt | avipratisārakāyavāksamudācāraḥ kuśalapakṣamā rabhyālpamātreṇāsaṃtuṣṭasyā vipratisāritayā yāvacchakyaṃ saṃpādanāt ||



karma svakameṣāṃ ta ime karmasvakāḥ | kathaṃ punasteṣāṃ karma svakaṃ bhavati | svayaṃkṛtakarmavipākapratisaṃvedanatāmupādāya, taddhi nāma svakamityucyate yatparairasādhāraṇamiti | karmāṇi dāyāya eṣāṃ ta ime karmadāyādāḥ | kathaṃ karma ṇāṃ dāyādatvam | tasyāṃ svayaṃkṛtavipākapratisaṃvedanāyāṃ kuśalākuśalānāṃ karmaṇāmanyonyadāyā datāmupādāya yathāsvami ṣṭāniṣṭaphalasaṃvibhajanāt | te punaḥ svakṛtakarmeṣṭāniṣṭavipākapratisaṃvedinaḥ sattvāḥ kuta āditaḥ saṃbhūtāḥ kimahetukā āhosvit prakṛtīśvarādihetukā ityāha karmayonīyāḥ | karmeveṣāmahetu viṣamahetuvarjito yoniḥ sattvānāṃ saṃbhavāyetyarthaḥ | evaṃ tāvatpravṛttimārabhya nivṛttimapyārabhya karmapratisaraṇāḥ, sāsravakarmaprahāṇāyānāsravakarmasaṃśrayaṇāt karmaivaiṣāṃ pratisaraṇaṃ bhavatīti ||



yaduktamacintyaḥ sattvānāṃ karmavipāka iti na sarvaiḥ prakāraiḥ [a] sāvacintyo veditavyaḥ | kathaṃ tarhi cintyaḥ kathamacintyaḥ |

kuśalākuśalasyeṣṭāniṣṭo vipākaḥ sugatidurgatyoriti cintyaḥ, śakyatvāt samyagdṛṣṭyādiguṇāvāhanācca | anena karmaṇā sattvānāmātmabhāvasya varṇasaṃsthānā di prakārabhedavaicitryamityacintyaḥ, aśakyatvāt sarvajñādanyasyonmādādidoṣābāhanācca | tadeva karmasthānādibhiracintyam | [tatra sthānaṃ] yatra pradeśe sthitvā yatkarma kṛtvā grāme vā nagare vetyādi | vastu yadadhiṣṭhānaṃ sattva saṃkhyātamasattvasaṃkhyātaṃ vā | hetuḥ kuśalākuśalādeḥ kuśalākuśalamūlāniyathāyogam | vipākastadevātmabhāvavaicitryam | bāhyabhāvavaicitryābhinirvartakaṃ karmācintyam, kīdṛśena khalu karmaṇā kaṇṭakādīnāṃ taikṣṇādikaṃ kṛtamiti lokacintā nantarbhūtatvāt | maṇimantrauṣadhimuṣṭiyogapratisaṃyuktaṃ karmācintyam | tatra maṇi[prati]saṃyuktaṃ candrakāntādīnāmudakakṣaraṇādi | mantrapratisaṃyuktaṃ tadabhimantritānāmadāhādi | auṣadhipratisaṃyuktaṃ tayā gṛhītayā'nturdhātādi | muṣṭiyogapratisaṃyuktaṃ tena tena muṣṭiyogena jvarāpagamādi | sarva ca yogināṃ prabhāvakarmācintyam | katham | te cittaprabhāvena mahāpṛthivī kampayantyākāśena votpatantītyevamādi | bodhisattvānāṃ vaśitābhiryat kriyate karma tadacintyam | tadyathā āyurvaśitayā bodhisattvā āyuḥsaṃskārānadhiṣṭhā ya yāvadicchanti tiṣṭhanti | cittavaśitayā yathecchaṃ samādhīn samāpadyante pariṣkāravaśitayā 'prameyamanardheyamupakaraṇavarṣa sattvānāṃ varṣanti | karmavaśitayā 'nyadhātu bhūmigatiyonyavasthāvedanīyāni karmāṇyanyathā pariṇāmayanti | upapatti vaśitayā dhyā nairapi vihṛtyāparihīṇā eva kāmadhātāvupapadyante | adhimuktivaśitayā pṛthavyādīnavāditvenādhimucyante | praṇidhānavaśitayā yatheṣṭaṃ svaparārthasaṃpattikarāṇyasaṃkhyeyāni mahāpraṇidhānānyabhinirha[ra]nti | ṛddhivaśitayā sattvānāmāvaja nārthamaprameyamṛddhipratihārya saṃdarśa [ya]nti | jñānavaśitayā dharmārthaniruktipratibhānānāṃ prakarṣaparyantaṃ gacchanti | dharmavaśitayā yathārha yāvat sarvasatvānāmanyānyairnāmapadavyaṃjanakāryaḥ sūtrādīn dharmān vyavasthāpya yugapaccittaparitoṣaṇe samarthā bhavantīti ||



buddhānāṃ buddhakṛtyānuṣṭhānakarmācintyam | katham | anābhogapratigatā dharmadhātvekarasatāprāptā sarve buddhā bhagavantaḥ sattvānāṃ yathā yadā yāvatkṛtyamanuṣṭhātavyaṃ tatsarvamanutiṣṭhanti evaṃ buddhānāṃ buddhaviṣayo'cintyaḥ ||



punarbhavasya vāsanāyā āhārakaṃ kāraṇamiti hetuḥ | upacitavāsanānāṃ sattvanāṃ devādisatvanikāye tadākṛtiprakṛtisādṛśyena samasyodayasya kāraṇamiti samudayam | pratyātmaṃsaṃtānanaiyabhyena gatiyonyādisarvaprakāraiḥ prakarṣaṇa yāvadbhavāgragatasyodbhavasya kāraṇamiti prabhavaḥ | apūrva syānyasyātmabhāvasya prāptau pūrvātmabhāvātyayena kāraṇamiti pratyayaḥ ||



saṃskārāṇāmuparamātsa nirodho'nyaḥ syāttadasaṃvadhyamāno'rthāntarabhūtaḥ syāt | athānanyaḥ syātsaṃkleśalakṣaṇaḥ syāt | ata eva nobhayo nānubhayaśca | prapañcaḥ punarasminnarthe'yoniśaścintyetyamārgeṇānyāyenānayena cintyetyarthaḥ , anyathā cintayitavye'nyathācintanā[t] | kathaṃ punaścintyaḥ | śāntaḥ praṇīta ityevamādibhiḥ prakāraiḥ ||



niralaṃkāraḥ prajñāviktānāṃ vidyādivaiśeṣikaguṇālaṃkārābhāvāt ||



paryāyato'śe ṣaprahāṇamityuddeśaḥ, śeṣo nirdeśaḥ | ata eva tatpariśiṣṭāni padānyupādāyetyucyate, taistasya nirdeśāt | kathaṃ kṛtvā'śeṣa prahāṇam | paryavasthānānuśayaprahāṇāt | tatra pratiniḥsargaḥ paryavasthānaprahāṇamadhikṛtya, utpannasya parivarjanāt | vyantībhāvo'nuśayaprahāṇam, mūlābhāve'tyantamanutpādāt | tatpunardarśanabhāvanāmārgapratipakṣabhedāddvidhā vyavasthāpyate - kṣayo virāga iti | tatra darśanamārgeṇa virāgatāmadhikṛtya kṣayaḥ, alpamātrāvaśiṣṭatvāt kleśarāśeḥ | bhāvanāmārgeṇa vi rāgaḥ, tasya bhūmivairāgyagamanapravibhāvitatvāt | tadubhayavisaṃyoge punaḥ satyāyatyāṃ ca duḥkhaṃ nirudhyate, anutpattidharmatāpāda nāt | dṛṣṭe ca dharme daurmanasyaṃ vyupaśāmyati, asamudācārāt | atastatphalabhūtasya duḥkhasya prahāṇamadhikṛtyāha - nirodho vyupaśama iti | pūrvakarma kleśasamudāgatānāṃ tu sattvānāṃ svarasenaivoparama[ma]dhikṛtyāha - astaṃgama iti | evaṃ kṛtvāśeṣaprahāṇaṃ nirdiṣṭaṃ veditavyam ||



asaṃskṛtamutpādavyayasthityanyathātvābhāvātsaṃskṛtaviparyayeṇa | durdṛśamāryasyaivaikasya prajñā cakṣuṣo gocaratvāt | acalaṃ narakādigatyasaṃcāreṇa sthiratvāt | anataṃ kāmarūpārūpyatṛṣṇā'bhāvena bhaveṣvanamanāt | amṛtaṃ maraṇāśrayaskandhābhāvāt | anāsravamā stravābhāvāt | layanaṃ vimukti prītisukhasaṃniśrayatvāt | dvīpaṃ saṃsāramahārṇave sthalabhūtatvāt | trāṇaṃ tatprāptau jātyādisarvopadravāpagamanāt | śaraṇaṃ tatkṛtāśayaprayogayoravandhatvasya padasthāna tayā''śrayaṇo [ya]tvāt | parāyaṇaṃ paramasyāryatvasyāgamanāya padasthānatvādārhatyatvaprāptyupāyālaṃvanatvādityarthaḥ | acyutam[a] jātatvena bhraṃsāsaṃbhavāt | nirjvaraṃ sarvecchāvighātasaṃtāpābhāvāt | niṣparidāhaṃ śokādisarvaparidāhapratiprastrabdhyā śītalatvāt | kṣemaṃ vyādhijarāmaraṇabhayarahitārya vihārāśrayatvāt | śivaṃ sarvakuśaladharmāśrayatvāt | sauvarṇakaṃ lokottarasukhavastutvā[t] | svastyayanaṃ sukhena prayogeṇa tatpprāptaye ālaṃbanabhavāt | ārogyaṃ kleśādyāvaraṇarogarahitatvāt | āniñjyaṃ sarvaviṣayaprapañcavikṣeparahitatvāt | nirvāṇaṃ rūpādisaṃjñāpaga[ma]sya śāntasukha vihārasyālaṃbanatvāt ||



punarnirodhasatyamārabhyājātādayaḥ paryāyāḥ duḥkhalakṣaṇaviparyayārthena veditavyāḥ | dukhaṃ hi tatra tatra sattva nikāye pratisaṃdhibandhena jāyate | tata uttarakālamātmabhāvaparipūryā vardhate | tacca duḥkhaṃ pūrvakarmakleśāvedhena kṛtam | tacca vartamānaṃ duḥkhaṃ karmakleśānāṃ cānyabhavasaṃskaraṇe padasthānaṃ bhavati | tato'vyucchedayogena punarbhavasya saṃtatyutpādo bhavati | atastadviparyayeṇa duḥkhanirodha āryasatyaṃ yathākramamajātamabhūtamakṛtamasamutpannaṃ veditavyam |



api khalu nirodhasatya madhikṛtya | śāntalakṣaṇaṃ saṃskāraduḥkhatayā 'praśāntalakṣaṇānāmupādānaskandhānāṃ visaṃyogamadhikṛtya | praṇītalakṣaṇaṃ kleśaduḥkhavisaṃyogāt svayaṃ śu cisukhasvabhāvatāmadhikṛtya | niḥsaraṇalakṣaṇaṃ nityahitasvabhāvatāmadhikṛtya , apunarāvartanāt kṣematvācca yathākramaṃ hitaṃ kuśalamiti śakyatvāt ||



mārgasatyaṃ yena dukhaṃ parijānīta ityevamādi, satyeṣvasya kṛtyādhikāreṇa lakṣaṇanirdeśo veditavyaḥ | pañcavidho mārga iti prabhedādhikāreṇa | pañcaprabhedaḥ saparivāramārgasatyādhikārādveditavyam ||



tatra saṃbhāramārgaḥ śīlādiko yasya paripūrṇatvādu ṣmagatādyānupūrvyā satyadarśanāya tadāvaraṇaprahāṇāya ca saṃtānasya yogyatāṃ pratilabhata iti | yadvā punaranyadaupaniṣadaṃ kuśalamityavipratisārādikaṃ veditavyam ||



uṣmagataṃ pratyātmaṃ satyeṣvālokalabdhaḥ samādhiḥ prajñā sasaṃyoga iti samāhitena cittena satyādhipateyasya sūtrādikasya dharmasya manojalpasya mukhairarthasaṃprakhyāne sati śamathaśca vipaśyanā coṣmagatamiti veditavyam || tadvṛddhirmū rghānastadupari vyavasthāpanārthena | kṣāntire kadeśapraviṣṭānusṛtaḥ samādhiriti | kathamekadeśapraviṣṭo bhavati | ekāntena grāhyabhāvalakṣaṇāt | kathamekadeśānumṛtaḥ grāhakābhāvaprativedhānukūlyāvasthānāt | laukiko'gradharmo yadantaramādito lokottaro mārgaḥ ||



darśanamārgo laukikāgradharmānantaraṃ nirvikalpaśa mathavipaśyanālakṣaṇo veditavyaḥ | samasamālaṃbyālaṃvanajñānamapi taditi tena grāhya grāhakābhāvatathatāprativeghāt | pratyātmamapanīta sattvasaṃketadharmasaṃketa sarvato'panītobhayasaṃketālaṃbanadharmajñānamapi taditi | kathaṃ pratyātmamapanītasattvasaṃketālaṃbanadharmajñānam | tena sva[sa]ntāne ātmanimittāvikalpanāt | kathaṃ pratyātmamapanītadharmasaṃketālaṃbana dharmajñānam | tena svasaṃtāna eva rūpādidharmanimittā vikalpanāt | kathaṃ sarvato'panītobhayasaṃketālaṃbanadharmajñānam | sarvatrāviśeṣeṇātma dharmanimittāvikalpa[na]diti ||



prabhedaśaḥ punardarśanamārgaḥ satyeṣu ṣoḍaśadharmānvayakṣāntijñānāni | tatra duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntiḥ prayogamārge duḥkhasatyādhikārikasūtrādidharmavicāraṇājñānaṃ yoniśo manaskārasaṃgṛhītamadhipati kṛtvā svasaṃtānikaduḥkhasatye tattathatāpratyakṣānubhāvino lokottarā prajñā samyagdṛṣṭisvabhāvotpadyate yayā duḥkhadarśanaprahātavyāṃstraidhātukānaṣṭāviṃśatimanuśayān prajahāti | tasmāducyate duḥkhe dharmajñānakṣāntiriti | tayā kṣāntyā duḥkhadarśanaprahātavyakleśaprahāṇāt parivartita āśraye tadanantaraṃ yena jñānena tāmāśrayaparivṛtti pratyanubhavati tadduḥkhe dharmajñānamityucyate | etaccobhayamādyaṃ kṣāntijñānamanvayaḥ sarveṣāṃ śaikṣāśaikṣāṇāmāryadharmāṇām, tatasteṣāṃ samudāgamāt | atastadālaṃbyānvaya eṣa āryadharmāṇāmiti pratyātmaṃ pratyakṣānubhāvinyanāstravā prajñā duḥkhe anvayajñānakṣānti | tāmanvayajñānakṣāntiṃ yena jñānena pratyanubhavati tadanvayajñānamityucyate | lokottarasya hi mārgasya dvayaṃ viṣayaḥ - tathatā samyagjñānaṃ ca | tatra dharmajñānapakṣasya mārgasya tathatā viṣayaḥ | anvayajñānapakṣasya samyagjñānam | ata idamucyate -dharmajñānakṣāntijñānairgrāhyāvabodhaḥ, anvayakṣāntijñānairgrāhakāvabodha iti | yo bhagavatā ṣaṣṭho'[ni]mittavihārī pudgala ākhyātaḥ sa eteṣu kṣāntijñāneṣu vartamāno veditavyaḥ, sarvanimittā nupalaṃbhāt | ta ete kṣānti [jñāna] saṃgṛhītāḥ ṣoḍaśa cittakṣaṇā darśanamārgaḥ, tairadṛṣṭapūrvāṇāmāryasa tyānāṃ pratyekaṃ caturbhirdarśanāt | na cātra bhāvasyābhatvā prādurbhāvamātraṃ cittakṣaṇo veditavyaḥ | kiṃ tarhi yāvatā jñeye jñānātpatteḥ parisamāptirbhavati | tadyathā duḥkhaṃ parijñeyamityekaścittalakṣaṇaḥ | evaṃ samudayaḥ prahātavya ityevamādiḥ | yaccaitaddarśanamārgamārabhya vistareṇa vipaṃcittaṃ vyavasthānamātraṃ tatsarva veditavyam, pratyātmameva vedanīyatvāt lokottarāyā avasthāyāḥ ||



sarvaṃ hi mārgasatyaṃ caturbhiḥ prakārairanugantavyam - vyavasthānato vikalpanato'nubhavataḥ paripūritaśca | tatra vyavasthānata, yathāsvamadhigamaniṣṭhāprāptā śrāvakādayastatpṛṣṭhalabdhena jñānena pareṣāṃ prāpaṇanimittaṃ nāmapadavyañjanakāyaiḥ mārgasatyaṃ vyavasthāpayanti, ityapi satyeṣu kṣāntayo jñānānī tyevamādi | vikalpanataḥ, abhisamayaprayuktā laukikena yathāvyavasthānaṃ vikalpayato yadabhyasya nti | anubhavataḥ, tathābhyasyanto yāmādito darśanamārgākhyāṃ lokottarāṃ niṣprapañcāvasthāṃ pratyātmamanubhavanti paripūritaḥ tadūrdhva yāmāśrayaparivṛttiṃ paripūrya [yā] vadadhigamaniṣṭhāṃ prāpnuvanti | te punaradhigamaniṣṭhāprāptāstatpṛṣṭhalabdhena jñānena mārgasatyaṃ vyavasthāpayanti | ityevamādi tacca [tu]rākāraṃ mārgacakraṃ punaḥ punaranyonyāśrayeṇa pravartata iti veditavyam ||



yaduktaṃ virajo vigatamalaṃ dharmeṣu dharmacakṣurutpadyata iti taddarśanamārgamadhikṛtyoktam, tatprathamataḥ satyeṣvāryaprajñācakṣuḥsvabhāvatvāt | tatra dharmakṣāntibhirvirajaḥ, tābhiḥ kleśarajaḥprahāṇāt | dharmajñānairvigatamalam, teṣāṃ prahāṇatadāvaraṇamalāśrayotpādāt | punaranayoreva kṣāntijñānāvasthayoryathākramaṃ parijñayā prahāṇena ca mārgasya viśuddhatāmadhikṛtya virajo vigatamalaṃ veditavyam ||



dṛṣṭe tyevamādyāpi darśanamārgamevādhikṛtya veditavyam, vineyānāṃ satyābhisamayānantaraṃ vacanāt | tatra dharmakṣāntibhirdṛṣṭadharmāḥ, tābhistattvaprativedhāt | dharmajñānaiḥ prāptadharmāḥ, tairāśrayaparivṛttisākṣātkaraṇāt | anvayakṣāntibhirviditadharmāḥ, tābhirāryadharmānvaya eṣa iti tadubhayasaṃvedanāt | anvayajñānaiḥ paryavagāḍhadharmāḥ, tairyāvajjñeyaṃ parisamāpanāt | sarvai stīrṇakāṃkṣaḥ sarvaiḥ kṣāntijñānaiḥ, lokottareṇa mārgeṇa phalādhigame sati dīrgharātramabhikāṃkṣite svādhigame'saṃdehāt | tīrṇavicikitsaḥ paridhigame sarvairiti vartate, parādhigame tadavasthasyā nyeṣāmapi viśeṣādhigamaṃ prati vimatyabhāvāt | aparapratyayo mārgabhāvanāyāṃ paropadeśamantareṇāpi svayaṃkuśalatvāt | ananyaneyo'vetya prasādapratilabhena śāstuḥ śāsane'nyatīrthyairjanmāntare'pyahāryatvāt | dharmeṣu vaiśā radyaprāpto'dhigamamārabhya paripraśnadharmeṣu pāpecchābhimānikavadavalīnacittatābhāvāt ||



bhāvanāmārgo laukiko mārgaḥ | tatra laukiko mārgo dhyānā [nyā] rūpyāśca | te punardhyānārūpyāḥ saṃkleśato vyavadānato vyavasthānato viśuddhitaśca veditavyāḥ ||



kathaṃ saṃkleśataḥ | catvāryavyākṛtamūlāni tṛṣṇā dṛṣṭirmāno'vidyā ca, taiḥ saṃkliṣṭacittānāṃ kliṣṭadhyānamukhena rūpārūpyāvacarasarvanivṛtāvyākṛtakleśopakleśā vartanāt | tatra tṛṣṇayā''svādasaṃkleśena saṃkliśyate, prastrabdhisukhāsvādāt | dṛṣṭyā dṛṣṭyu taradhyāyitayā saṃkliśyate, dhyānaṃ niścitya pūrvāntakalpādidṛṣṭisamutthāpanāt | mānena mānottara dhyāyitayā saṃkliśyate, tena viśeṣādhigamenonnatigamanāt | avidyayā vicikitsottaradhyāyitayā saṃkliśyate, tattvā prativedhena mokṣakāmasya tasminvi śeṣādhigame mokṣo na mokṣa iti vicikitsotpādanāt ||



kathaṃ vyavadānataḥ | śuddhakā dhyānārūpyā laukikā api kuśalatvātparya vasthānamalāpagatatvena vyavadātā ityucyante ||



kathaṃ vyavasthānataḥ | dhyānānāṃ tāvaccaturdhā vyavasthānam, aṅgasamāpattimātrāsaṃjñāka raṇabhedāt | ārūpyāṇāṃ tridhā'ṅgavarjaiḥ ||



kiṃ punaradhikṛtya dhyāneṣu | vitarkādaya evāṅgatvena vyavasthāpitāḥ satsvanyeṣu dharmeṣu | tāvadbhiḥ pratipakṣānuśaṃsatadubhayāśrayāṅgaparisamāpteḥ | prathame tāvaddhayāne vitarko vicāraśca pratipakṣāṅgam, tābhyāṃ kāmavyāpādavihiṃsāvitarkādiprahāṇāt | prītiḥ sukhaṃ cānuśaṃsāṅgam, vitarkavicārābhyāṃ pratipakṣite vipakṣe tadvivekajaprītisukhalābhāt | cittaikāgratā tadubhayaniśrayāṅgam, samādhisaṃniśrayabalena vitarkādipravṛtteriti | tathā dvitīye dhyāne'dhyātmasaṃprasādaḥ pratipakṣāṅgam, tena vitarkavicārapratipakṣaṇāt | prītisukhe cittaikāgratā ca śeṣe aṅge pūrvavat | tṛtīye dhyāne upekṣā smṛtiḥ saṃprajanyaśca pratipakṣāṅgam , taiḥ prītipratipakṣaṇāt | sukhaṃ cittaikāgratā ca śeṣe aṅge yathākramam | caturthe dhyāne upekṣāpariśuddhiḥ smṛtipariśuddhiśca pratipakṣāṅgam, tābhyāṃ sukhapratipakṣaṇāt | aduḥkhāsukhā vedanā'nuśaṃsāṅgam | cittaikāgratā tadubhayāṅgamiti ||



kathaṃ punaḥ prathamaṃ dhyānaṃ samāpadyamānasya sapta manaskārā bhavanti | yena samāhitabhūmikena manaskāreṇa kameṣvādīnavādidarśanenaudārikalakṣaṇaṃ pratisavedayate | tadabhāvācca prathamadhyāne śāntalakṣaṇam | ayamucyate lakṣaṇapratisaṃvedanīya manaskāraḥ , sa ca śrutacintāvyavakīrṇo veditavyaḥ | tadurdhva śrutaṃ cintāṃ cātikramyaikāntena bhāvanākāreṇa tadaudārikaśāntalakṣaṇanimittālaṃbanāṃ śamathavipaśyanāṃ bhāvayan punaḥ punaryathāparyeṣitā maudārikaśāntatāmadhimucyate ityayama dhimokṣikaḥ | tadabhyāsāttatprathamataḥ prahāṇamārgasahagato manaskāraḥ prāvivekyaḥ, tenādhimātrakleśaprakāraprahāṇāttatpakṣadauṣṭhulyāpagamācca | sa yogī tadūrdhva prahāṇārāmo bhavati prahāṇe 'nuśaṃsadarśī parīttapravivekaprītisukhasaṃspṛṣṭaḥ kālena kālaṃ prasadanīyena manaskāreṇa saṃpraharṣayati yāvadeva styānamiddhauddhatyopaśamāya | ayaṃ ratisaṃgrāhakaḥ | tasyaivaṃ samyakprayuktasya kuśalapakṣaprayogopastabdhatvāt kāmāvacarakleśaparyavasthānāsamudācāre sati tatprahīṇāprahīṇatāvagamārtha tadutpattyanukūlaśubhanimittamanaskāreṇa pratyavekṣaṇaṃ mīmāṃsāmanaskāraḥ | tasyaivaṃ mīmāṃsāpratipakṣaṃ bhāvayataḥ tāvatkālikayogena sarvakāmāvacarakleśavisaṃyogāya prathamadhyānaprayogaparyavasānagataḥ pratipakṣamanaskāraḥ prayoganiṣṭhaḥ | tadanantaraṃ maulaprathamadhyānasahagataḥ prayoganiṣṭhāphala iti | tatra lakṣaṇapratisavedinā prahātavyaṃ prāptavyaṃ ca samyakparijñāya prahāṇāya prāptaye ca cittaṃ praṇighatte | ādhimokṣikena tadartha samyakprayogamārabhate | prāvivekyenādhimātrān kleśān jahāti | ratisaṃgrāhakeṇa madhyaṃ kleśa prakāraṃ jahāti | mīmāṃsakena prāptinirabhimānatā yāṃ cittamavasthāpayati | prayoganiṣṭhena mṛduṃ kleśaprakāraṃ jahāti | prayoganiṣṭhāphalena eṣāṃ manaskārāṇāṃ subhāvitānāṃ bhāvanāphalaṃ pratyanubhavati | yathā prathamadhyāna samāpattaye sapta manaskārā evaṃ yāvannaivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatanasamāpattaye yathāyogaṃ yojayitavyāḥ | audārikalakṣaṇaṃ punaḥ sarvāsvadhobhūmiṣu yāvadākiṃcanyāyatanāt samāsena dvividhaṃ veditavyam - duḥkhataravihāritā'praśāntavihāritayā, alpāyuskataratā ca tadviparyayeṇordhvabhūmeḥ śāntalakṣaṇaṃ veditavyam ||



mātrāvyavasthānaṃ dhyānānāṃ tāvanmṛdumadhyādhimātraparibhāvitatvāt | pratyekaṃ tridhā dhyānopapattiḥ phalaṃ bhavati | tadyathā brahmakāyikā brahmapurohitā mahābrahmāṇaṃ ityevamādi yathāpūrvamuktam | ārūpyeṣu tu vimānasthānāntarasaṃniveśāsaṃbhavādevamupapatti bhedo na vyavasthāpyate | api tu teṣāmapyasti mṛdvādiparibhāvitānāmupapattāvuccanīcatā āyurādiviśeṣeṇa, hīna praṇītatā ca kliṣṭākliṣṭatābāhulyaviśeṣeṇeti ||



saṃjñākaraṇavyavasthānaṃ caturthadhyānaprabhedā nāṃ samādhīnāmasaṃkhyeyānyacintyāni ca nāmāni | tathāhi yāvataḥ prathamadhyānasaṃgṛhītān samādhīn buddhā bhagavanto bodhisattvāśca mahāprabhāvaprāptāḥ samāpadyante, teṣāṃ samādhīnāṃ śrāvakāḥ pratyekabuddhāśca nāmānyapi na jānanti | kutaścaiṣāṃ saṃkhyāṃ jñāsyanti samāpatsyante vā | yathā nirdiṣṭaṃ prajñāpāramitāyām - "sādhitaṃ samādhiśatam" | evamanyeṣvapi teṣu teṣu mahāyānasūtreṣviti ||



kathaṃ viśuddhitaḥ | prāntakoṭikā dhyānārūpyā viśuddhirityucyate, vaiśeṣikaguṇābhinirhārāya nikāmalā [bhā]dibhiḥ karmaṇyatāprakarṣanayanāt ||



lokottaramārgo bhāvanāmārge'ṣṭau duḥkhā[didharmā] nvayajñānāni yathā darśanamārge nirdiṣṭāni | tatsaṃprayuktaśca samādhiranāgamyasaṃgṛhītaḥ prathamaṃ dhyānaṃ yāvadākiṃcanyāyatanam | naivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatanama parisphuṭaṃ saṃjñāpracāratayā paramapaṭupracārasyāryamārgasyāsaṃniḥśrayatvādekāntena laukikaṃ veditavyam | ata eva ca tatsaṃjñāmāndyādālambanā nimittīkaraṇārthenānimitta mityucyate | kutaḥ punaretat jñāyate naivasaṃjñānāsaṃjñāyatane āryamārgo nāstīti | yasmāduktaṃ bhagavatā "yāvadeva saṃjñāsamāpattistāvadājñāprativedha" iti | nirodhasamāpattirlokottarā, āryamārgapṛṣṭhalabhyatvāt | manuṣyeṣvabhi[ni]rhriyate utpādyataādita ityarthaḥ, pūrvotpāditāyāḥ paścātsaṃmukhobhāvo manuṣyeṣu vā tasminneva janmani rūpadhātau vā upapadya | kathamārūpyalābhino rūpadhātuvītarāgasyāryaśrāvakasya rūpadhātāvupapatiḥ | nāvaśyaṃ rūpadhātuvītarāga evā''rūpyaṃ samāpadyate | ata evātra catuṣkoṭikaṃ bhavati - yo rūpavītarāgaḥ sarvaḥ sa ārūpyaśāntavimokṣasamāpattā, yo vā ārūpya śāntavimokṣasamāpattā sarvaḥ sa rūpavītarāga iti | prathamā koṭiḥ - anāgamyaṃ niśritya rūpavītarāgaḥ | dvitīyā koṭiḥ - caturthadhyānalābhī ārya āryo papattyā'narthī prahāṇamārga nirākṛtya viśeṣamārga niśrityārūpyaśāntavimokṣasamāpattā | tṛtīyā koṭiḥ - sa eva vairāgyārthī prahāṇamārga niśrityārūpyaśāntavimokṣasamāpattā | caturthī - etānākārān sthāpa yitvā | ārūpye ṣūpapannānāṃ kasmānna saṃmukhībhavati | śāntena vihāreṇa vihartukāmā āryā manuṣyeṣvenāmabhinirhṛtya saṃmukhīkurvanti | ārūpyeṣu tūpapannāste'praya tnenaiva vaipākikaiḥ paramaśāntaiḥ vimokṣavihārairviharantītyatastatsaṃmukhīkaraṇārtha na punaḥ prayatnamārabhanta iti ||



mṛdumadhyādhimātro mārgaḥ pratyekaṃ punaḥ mṛdvādibhistribhiḥ prakārairbhittvā navaprakāro vyavasthāpyate, bhāvanā heyānāṃ krameṇa prahāṇajñāpanārtham | kiṃ punaḥ kāraṇaṃ mṛdumṛdunā mārgeṇādhimātraḥ kleśaḥ prahīyate | sa hyatyarthaḥ vipannahrīvyapannāpyā lajjinaḥ saṃtāne samudācarati sūpalakṣaścāsau suparicchedastasmādasau sthūlamalavadalpenā pi pratipakṣeṇāpanīyate | yastvayaṃ duṣparicchedasamudācāraḥ sūkṣmalīnaḥ saṃtāne mṛdumṛdukleśaḥ sūkṣmamalavanmahatā pratipakṣabale nāpanīyata ityado vipakṣaprakāraviparyayeṇa pratipakṣaprakāravyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||



prayogamārgo yena mārgeṇa bhāvyamānena pratyekamadhimātrādhimātrādikleśaprakārādijātipakṣasya dauṣṭhulyāṅgasyāpagamātkrameṇāśrayaḥ parivartate sa bhāvanāmārge prayogamārge ityucyate ||



yasya tvanantaraṃ tatprakārakleśajātitatpakṣadauṣṭhulyā vaśeṣāpagamāttena dauṣṭhulyena nirdauṭhulya āśrayaḥ parivartate sa ānantaryamārgaḥ ||



vimuktimārgo yena nāmāśrayaparivṛtti pratyātma [ma]nubhavati |



viśeṣamārgastadūrdhvāvaśeṣakleśaprahāṇaṃ kurvato ye prayogānantaryavimuktimārgāḥ | aparaḥ paryāya'viśeṣamārga stasya kleśaprahāṇaprayogamadhyupekṣya sūtrādīn dharmāścintayataḥ, pūrvacintitādhigatadharmapratyavekṣaṇāvihāreṇa vā viharataḥ samāpattyantaraṃ vā samāpadyamānasya yo mārgaḥ | punarabhijñādīn vaiśeṣikān guṇānabhinirharatastairvā viharato yo mārgaḥ ||



ityevaṃ bhāvanāmārga vistareṇa nirdiśya tadanuṣaṃgeṇa mārgabhāvanā varṇyate |



caturvidhā mārgabhāvanā samyak prahāṇānadhikṛtya yathāyogam | tatra pratilambhāya bhāvanā pratilambhabhāvanā, tayā'labdhakuśaladharmapratilambhāt | niṣevaṇa meva bhāvanā niṣevaṇa bhāvanā, labdhakuśaladharmābhyasanāt | nirdhāvanāya bhāvanā nirdhāvanabhāvanā, samudācārāvasthākuśaladharmanirvāsanāt | pratipakṣasya bhāvanā pratipakṣabhāvanā, anāgatākuśaladharmānutpattidharmatāpādanāt ||



aparaḥ paryāyaḥ - mārga utpadyamānaḥ svāṃ vāsanāṃ sthāpayati[sā]dhāsanā pratilambhabhāvanā, tatastadanvayānāmuttaptatarāpatteḥ | asyaiva mārgasya saṃmukhībhāvo'bhiniṣeva ṇabhāvanā | tena svavipakṣadauṣṭhulyanirodhanānnirdhāvanabhāvanā | āśrayasya parivṛttatvādāyatyāmanutpattidharmatāyāmavasthāpa naṃ pratipakṣabhāvanā | punaḥ pratipakṣasya vidūṣaṇādikaḥ caturvidhaḥ prabhedo veditavyaḥ | tatra vidūṣaṇāpratipakṣaḥ sāstraveṣu saṃskāreṣvādīnavadarśanam, tena rogagaṇḍādibhirākārairupādānaskandhadūṣaṇāt | prahāṇa pratipakṣaḥ prayogānantaryamārgāḥ, taiḥ kleśaprahāṇāt | ādhārapratipakṣo vimuktimārgāḥ, taiḥ prahāṇaprāptisaṃdhāraṇāt | dūrībhāvapratipakṣastaduparimo mārgaḥ, tena pūrvaprahīṇakleśadūrīkaraṇāt ||



punarbodhipakṣyādibhedenaikādaśavidho mārgo vyavasthāpyate | tadyathā vastuparīkṣāmārgaḥ smṛtyupasthānāni, āditastenāśubhādibhirākāraiḥ kāyavedanā cittadharmavastuparīkṣaṇāt | vyāvasāyiko mārgaḥ samyakprahāṇāni , tathā sarvāṇi vastūni parīkṣyānenāvaraṇaprahāṇāya vīryārambhāt | samādhiparikarmamārga ṛddhipādāḥ, tathāpariśodhitāvaraṇasyānena chandavīryacittamīmāṃsāmukhaiḥ samādheḥ karmaṇyatāpāda nāt | abhisamayaprayogiko mārga indriyāṇi, tathākṛtasamādhiparikarmaṇo'nenāryamārgasamudāgamāyādhipatibhūtoṣmagatordhva prayogāt | abhisamayaśliṣṭo mārgo balāni, tathādhipatyaprāptasyānenā [na]ntaraṃ satyaprativedhā yāśraddhā divipakṣānabhibhūtakṣāntyagradharmaprayogāt | abhisamayamārgo bodhyaṅgāni , tenāditaḥ pratyātmaṃ tattvābhisaṃbodhāt | viśuddhinairyāṇiko mārga āryāṣṭāṅgo mārgaḥ, tadūrdhva tena bhāvanāprahātavyakleśaprahāṇāya viśuddhaye niryāṇāditi | ata evaiṣāṃ bodhipakṣāṇāmevānupūrvī veditavyā | niśrayendriyabhinno mārgaḥ catastraḥ pratipadaḥ | tatra duḥkhā pratipadanā gamyārūpyaniśritā yathākramaṃ śamathavipaśyanāmāndyāt | sukhā dhyānaniśritā yuganaddhavāhitvāt | dhandhābhijñā dvayorapyanayorduḥkhasukhaniśrayayormṛdvindriyāṇām | kṣiprābhijñā tayoreva tīkṣṇendriyāṇāmiti | śikṣā trayapariśodhano mārgaḥ catvāri dharmapadāni | tatrānabhidhyā'vyāpādamadhiśīlaṃ śikṣāyāḥ pariśodhanam, ananunayāpratighamukhena śikṣāpadākhaṇḍanāt | samyaksmṛtyādhicittaṃ śikṣāyāḥ pariśodhanam, ālaṃvanāsaṃmoṣe sati cittasamādhānāt | samyaksamādhinādhiprajñaṃ śikṣāyāḥ pariśodhanam, samāhitacittasya yathābhūtajñā nāditi || sarvaguṇā bhinirhārako yo mārgaḥ śamathavipaśyanā, tataḥ sarvalaukikalokottaraguṇābhiniṣpatteḥ | mārgasaṃgrahamārgastrīṇīndriyāṇī, tatrānājñātamājñāsyāmīndriyeṇa prayogadarśanamārgayoḥ saṃgrahaḥ, ājñendriyeṇa bhāvanāmārgasya, ājñātāvīndriyeṇa niṣṭhāmārgasyeti ||



punarbodhipakṣyāṇāṃ dharmāṇāṃ pañcabhiḥ prakāraiḥ vyavasthānaṃ veditavyam - ālambanataḥ svabhāvataḥ sahāyato bhāvanāto bhāvanāphalataśca ||



tatra smṛtyupasthānānāmālaṃbanaṃ yathākramaṃ kāyo vedanā cittaṃ dharmāḥ | kimartha punaretadevamā laṃbanaṃ vyavasthāpyate | yasmādviparyastabuddhayo bālāḥ prāyeṇa sendriyaṃ kāyamāśritya sukhādimupabhuñjānā upalabdha lakṣaṇā ātmarāgādibhiḥ śraddhādibhiśca saṃkliśyante vyavadāyante ceti vikalpayantyata āditaḥ samyaktadvastulakṣaṇaparīkṣārthamevaṃ caturdhālambanavyavasthānaṃ veditavyam ||



svabhāvataḥ prajñā smṛtiśca, kāyādyanupaśyanāvacanāt smṛtyupasthānavacanācca yathākramam ||



sahāyatastābhyāṃ saṃprayuktāścitacaitasikāḥ ||



bhāvanā'dhyātmaṃ bahirdhā'dhyātmabahirdhā ca kāyādiṣu kāyādyanupaśyanā ||



tatrādhyātmaṃ kāyaścakṣuśrotraghrāṇajihvā kāyendriyāṇi, ādhyātmikāyatanasaṃgṛhītatvātsattvasaṃkhyātatvācca | bahirdhā kāyo bahirdhārūpaśabdagandharasaspraṣṭavyāni, bāhyāyatanasaṃgṛhītatvādasattvasaṃkhyātatvācca | adhyātmabahirdhā kāyaścakṣurādyāyatanasaṃbaddhāni rūpādīnyāyatanānīndriyādhiṣṭhānabhūtāni, sattvasaṃkhyātatvādvāhyāyatanasaṃgṛhītatvācca | pārasaṃtānikāni cā''dhyātmikāni rūpīṇyāyatanānyadhyātmabahirdhā kāyaḥ, āyatanavyavasthāṃ saṃtānavyavasthāṃ ca pramāṇayitvā ||



kāye kāyasya sādṛśyena paśyanā kāye kāyānupaśyanā, vikalpapratibimbakāyadarśanānusāreṇa prakṛtibimbakāyāvadhāraṇāt ||



adhyātmaṃ vedanādayo'dhyātmaṃ kāyamupādāyotpannāḥ cakṣurādyālaṃbanatayā svāśrayotpannanatayā vā | bahirdhā vedanādayo bahirdhā kāyamupā dāyotpannāḥ, rūpādyālambanatayā parāśrayotpannatayā vā | adhyātmabahirdhā vedanādayo dhyātmabahirdhākāyamupādāyotpannāḥ, svasantānikabāhyā[yatanā]lambanatayā pārasaṃtānikādhyātmikāyatanālaṃbanatayā vā ||



cetaso līnatvaṃ viśeṣādhigamapratyātmaparibhavamukhaiḥ viṣādaḥ | paristravaparikhedo daṃśamaśakādyupadravotpīḍanāsahanam | alpamātrasaṃtuṣṭiḥ alaṃ me tāvatā kuśalapakṣeṇeti prativāraṇam | āpattivipratisāro'bhikramapratikramādiṣvasaṃprajñānacāriṇaḥ śikṣāvyatikramapūrvaḥ paścāttāpaḥ | nikṣiptadhuratā pramādadoṣeṇa yathārambhaṃ kuśalapakṣaprayogāntā nirvāha iti ||



phalaṃ yathākramaṃ smṛtyupasthānānāṃ śucisukhanityātmaviparyāsapraharaṇam, aśu[bha]bhāvanā[taḥ], yatkiṃcit veditamidamatra duḥkhasyeti jñānāt, āśrayālaṃbanādibhedaiḥ pratikṣaṇaṃ vijñānasyānyathāvagamāt, nirvyāpārasaṃkleśabyavadānadharmamātraparīkṣaṇācceti ||



punareṣāṃ yathākramaṃ catuḥsatyāvatāraḥ phalam | kā yasmṛtyupasthānena duḥkhasatyamavatarati, saṃskāraduḥkhatālakṣaṇena dauṣṭhulyena prabhāvitatvāt kāyasya | tathāhi tatpratipakṣabhūtā prastrabdhiḥ kāya eva viśeṣeṇotpadyata iti | vedanāsmṛtyupasthānena samudayasatyamavatarati, sukhādivedanādhiṣṭhānatvāt saṃyogāditṛṣṇāyāḥ | cittasmṛtyupasthānena nirodhasatyamavatarati, nirātmakaṃ vijñānamātraṃ na bhaviṣyatīti paśyata ātmocchedāśaṅkāmukhena nirvāṇottrāsābhāvāt | dharmasmṛtyupasthānena mārgasatyamavatarati, vipakṣadharmaprahāṇāya pratipakṣadharmabhāvanāditi | punareṣāṃ kāyavedanācittadharmavisaṃyogaḥ phalaṃ yathākramaṃ veditavyam, tadbhāvanayā kāyādipakṣadauṣṭhulyāpagamāditi ||



samyakprahāṇānāṃ prathamasyānutpanno vipakṣaālaṃbanam, tenānutpanna pāpakākuśaladharmānutpādāya chandajananāt | dvitīyasyotpanno vipakṣaḥ | tṛtīyasyānutpannaḥ pratipakṣaḥ | caturthasyotpanna ālaṃbanamiti yathāsūtraṃ yojayitavyam |



chandaṃ janayatītyevamādibhiḥ sāśrayā vīryabhāvanā paridīpitā | atrāśra yaśchandaḥ, tatpūrvakatvādudyogasya | yadā śamathādinimittamanaskāreṇa nirapekṣālaṃbanaṃ kevalaṃ pratipakṣaṃ bhāvayati tadā vyāyaccjhata ityucyate | yadā tulayopakleśe utpanne tadapakarṣaṇārtha prasadanīyādimanaskāraiḥ cittamunnāmayati, auddhatyopakleśe cotpanne pratyāsaṃkṣepamukhena cittaṃ dhārayati tadā vīryamārabhata ityucyate | ata eva layauddhatyāpakarṣaṇopāyasaṃdarśanārthamanantaramāha cittaṃ pragṛhṇāti pradadhātīti |



phalaṃ prathamadvitīyayoḥ samyakprahāṇayoraśeṣavipakṣahāniḥ, tābhyāṃ yathāyogamutpannānutpannapāpakākuśaladharmaprahāṇāt | tṛtīyasya pratipakṣapratilambhaḥ, tenānutpannakuśaladharmotpādanāt | caturthasya pratipakṣavṛddhiḥ, tenotpanna kuśaladharmavipulatāpādanāditi ||



ṛddhipādālaṃbanaṃ niṣpannena samādhinā yatkaraṇīyamṛddhayādikaṃ kṛtyam ||



chandasamādhiryat satkṛtyaprayogamāgamya spṛśati cittasyaikāgratāṃ tīvreṇa chandena tīvre ṇādareṇa prayogaḥ satkṛtyaprayoga iti kṛtvā | vīryasamādhiryatsātatyaprayogamāgamya spṛśati cittasyaikāgratām | tadvīryamityucyate yannityaṃ prayujyata eva na kadācinna prayujyate | cittasamādhiryatpūrvajanmāntare samādhibhāvanāmāgamyatatparipuṣṭabījatvāccittasya svarasena samādhyanukūla pariṇāme sati spṛśati cittasyaikāgratām | api khalu ṛddhipādābhinirhārayornidarśanārthameva samyakprahāṇabhāvanāyāṃ chandaṃ janayatītyevamādinirdeśo veditavyaḥ | cittaṃ pradadhāti pragṛhṇātītyeṣā cātra pāṭhānupūrvī veditavyā | tatra cittasamādhiryaccitaṃ pradadhat spṛśatīti pratyātmaṃ cittameva cittaṃ dhārayan śamayannabhisaṃkṣipa nnadhigacchatītyarthaḥ | mīmāṃsāsamādhiryaccitaṃ pragṛhṇanniti dharmavipaśyanāmukhena cittamuttāpayatītyarthaḥ ||



bhāvanā chandādīnāmaṣṭānāṃ prahāṇasaṃskārāṇāmabhyāsaḥ | te punaraṣṭau prahāṇasaṃskārāścaturdhā kriyante | tadyathā vyāvasāyikaśchandavyāyāmaśraddhāḥ || tatra chando vyāyāmasyāśrayaḥ | chandasya punaḥ śraddhā nimittam | tathāhi yo yenārthī bhavati tatprāptyartha vyāyacchate | arthitvaṃ ca nāntareṇa tadasti tvādyabhisaṃpratyamiti | anugrāhikaḥ prastrabdhiḥ, tayā kāyacittānugrahakaraṇāt | aupanibandhikaḥ smṛtisaṃprajanye, ālaṃbanāsaṃpramoṣeṇa citta syaikāgrāvasthānāt, tatpramāde ca sati paricchedāt yathākramam | prātipakṣikaścetanopekṣe, cittapragrahapradhānābhisaṃskārābhyāmutpannalayauddhatyaparivarjanānnirupakleśaśamathādinimittānukaraṇā cceti ||



saṃkṣepanidānaṃ vipaśyanārahitasya kausīdyamukhena layaḥ | vikṣepanidānamaśubhasaṃjñārahitasyauddhatyamukhena saṃpragrahaḥ | saṃkṣepaḥ styānanimitta mukhe nāntaḥsaṃkocaḥ | vikṣepaḥ śubhanimittānusāramukhena viṣayeṣu visāraḥ | ālīnatvānukūlā bhāvanā pratyavekṣaṇānimittaṃ niśritya dharmavipaśyanā | avikṣepānukūlā'śubhataḥ keśādidravyapratyavekṣā | tadubhayānukūlā ''lokasaṃjñā | etacca yathā kramamadhikṛtyoktaṃ bhagavatā - naca me chando'tilīno bhaviṣyati, nātipragṛhītaḥ, nādhyātmaṃ saṃkṣiptaḥ na bahirdhā vikṣiptaḥ , paścātpūrva saṃjñī bhaviṣyati ūrdhvamadhaḥsaṃjñī ca, vivṛtena cetasā'paryavanaddhena saprabhāsasahagataṃ cittaṃ bhāvayiṣyāmi na ca me'ndhakārāyattatvaṃ bhaviṣyati cetasa iti |



phalaṃ yatheṣṭamṛddhayādiguṇaniṣpādanāt ||



indriyāṇāṃ catvāryāryasatyānyālaṃbanam, satyābhisamayaprayogasaṃgṛhītatvena tadākāratvāt || phalaṃ tadādhipatyādacireṇa kālena darśanamārgasyotpādaḥ tasminneva ca kāle nirvedhabhāgīyabhajanaṃ ca saṃtānasya ||



balānāmālaṃbanādikamindriyaiḥ samānam || phale tu viśeṣaḥ | tathāhyeṣāṃ tacca yathoktam - āśradvyādivipakṣanirlekhaścādhika ityata evaiṣāṃ tulyānāmālaṃvanasvabhāvādikānāmapyanavamṛdyatārthaviśeṣeṇa bodhipakṣāntaratvam ||



bodhyaṅgānāmālaṃbanaṃ caturṇāmāryasatyānāṃ yathābhūtateti paramārtho viśuddhayālaṃvanamityarthaḥ | svabhāvaḥ smṛtyādayaḥ sapta dharmāḥ | tatra smṛtiḥ saṃniśrayāṅgam, upasthitasmṛteḥ sarvakuśaladharmābhilapanāt | dharmavicayaḥ svabhāvāṅgam, saṃbodhilakṣaṇatvāt | vīrya niryāṇāṅgam, tena yāvadgamyaṃ gamanāt | prītiranuśaṃsāṅgam, tayā saṃtānaprīṇanāt | prastrabdhiḥ samādhirupekṣā cāsaṃkleśāṅgam | tatra prastrabdhyā na saṃkliśyate, tayā dauṣṭhulyastrāvaṇāt | samādhau na saṃkliśyate, tatra sthitasyāśrayaparivartanāt | upekṣā'saṃkleśaḥ, abhidhyādaurmanasyāpagatākliṣṭāvasthāsvabhāvatvāt | bhāvanā smṛtisaṃbodhyaṅgaṃ bhāvayati vivekaniśritamityevamādirebhiḥ caturbhiḥ padairyathākramaṃ catuḥsatyā laṃbanā bodhyaṅgabhāvanā paridīpitā | tathāhi duḥkhaṃ duḥkhata ālaṃbamānasya tadvivekānveṣaṇādduḥkhālaṃbanaṃ vivekaniśritamityucyate | tṛṣṇālakṣaṇaṃ duḥkhasamudayaṃ duḥkhasamudayata ālaṃba mānasya tadvirāgānveṣaṇāttadālaṃbanaṃ virāganiśritam | duḥkhanirodhaṃ duḥkhanirodhata ālaṃba mānasya tatsākṣātkaraṇānveṣaṇāttadālaṃbanaṃ nirodhaniśritam | duḥkhanirodhagāminī pratipad vyavasarga ityucyate, tayā duḥkhavisarjanāt | tāṃ tathā laṃvamānasya tadbhāvanānveṣaṇāttadālaṃbanaṃ vyavasargapariṇatamityucyate | phalaṃ darśanaheyānāṃ kleśānāṃ prahāṇam, bodhyaṅgānāṃ darśanamārgasvabhāvatvāt ||



mārgāṅgānāmālaṃbanaṃ darśanamārgāduttarakālaṃ saiva yathādṛṣṭānāṃ satyānāṃ yathābhūtatā | svabhāvaḥ samyagdṛṣṭayādayo'ṣṭau dharmāḥ | tatra samyagdṛṣṭiḥ paricchedāṅgam, tayā yathānubhavaṃ tattvāvadhāraṇāt | samyaksaṃkalpaḥ parasaṃprāpaṇāṅgam, tena yathādhigamaṃ vyavasthāpya vāksamutthāpanāt | samyagvākkarmāntājīvāḥ parasaṃpratyayāṅgam, tairyathākramamadhigantuḥ paraidṛṣṭayādiviśuddhiniścayanāt | tatra samyagvācā'dhigamānurūpapraśnavyākaraṇasāṃkathyaviniścayenāsya darśanaviśuddhirvijñāyate | samyakkarmāntenābhikramapratikramādiṣu saṃpannacāritratayā śīlaviśuddhiḥ samyagā jīvena yathānujñaṃ dharmeṇa cīvarādiparyeṣaṇādājīvaviśuddhi riti | samyagvyāyāmaḥ kleśāvaraṇaviśodhanāṅgam, tenāśeṣa saṃyojanaprahāṇāt | samyaksmṛtirūpakleśāvaraṇaviśodhanāṅgam, tayā samyakśamathādinimittāsaṃpramoṣeṇa layādyupakleśānavakā śāt | samyaksamādhirvaiśeṣikaguṇāvaraṇaviśodhanāṅgam, tenābhijñādiguṇābhinirharaṇāt | bhāvanā bodhyaṅgavat, tadyathā samyagdṛṣṭi bhāvayati vivekaniśritāmiti vistaraḥ | teṣāṃ ca padānāmarthaḥ yathānirdiṣṭaṃ purastāttathānugantavyaḥ ||



pratipadāṃ dharmapadānāṃ ca pūrvavadarthanirdeśo veditavyaḥ dukhā pratipadanāgamyārūpyaniśritā yathākramaṃ śamathavipaśyanāmāndhāt | sukhā dhyānaniśritā yuganaddhavāhitvāt dhandhābhijñā dvayorapyanayorduḥkhasukhaniśrayayormṛdvindriyāṇām | kṣiprābhijñā tayoreva tīkṣṇendriyāṇāmiti ||



śamathaḥ navakāracittasthitiḥ | tatra bāhyālaṃbanebhyaḥ pratisaṃhṛtyā dhyātmamavikṣepāpāditaścittasyopanibandhaḥ sthāpanā | tasya cittasyaivamādita upanibaddhasya calasyaudārikasya tasminnevālaṃvane saṃtatiyogena sūkṣmokaraṇena cābhisaṃkṣepaḥ saṃsthāpanā | tasya smṛtisaṃpramoṣādvahirdhā vikṣiptasya punaḥ pratisaṃharaṇamavasthāpanā | ādita eva tasya cittasya vahiravisārāyopa sthitasmṛtitopasthāpanā | pūrvameva vikṣepanimitteṣu rūpādiṣvādīnavasaṃjñāmadhipati kṛtvā cittasya prasarādānaṃ damanam | cetaḥsaṃkṣobhakareṣu vitarkopakleśe ṣvādīnavadarśanena prasarādānaṃ śamanam | smṛtisaṃpramoṣādvitarkādisamudācāre sati tadanadhivāsanā vyupaśamanam | abhisaṃskāreṇa niśchidranirantarasamādhipravāhāvasthāpanā ekotīkaraṇam | svabhyastatvādanabhisaṃskāreṇānābhogena cittasamādhipravāhasyāvikṣepeṇa pravṛttiḥ samādhānamiti ||



vipaśyanā yathāpi taddharmānvicinotītyevamādiḥ | tatra carita viśodhanamālaṃvanaṃ kauśalyālaṃbanaṃ vā kleśaviśodhanaṃ vā yāvadbhāvikatayā vicinoti, yathāvadbhāvikatayā pravicinoti, savikalpenamanaskāreṇa prajñāsahagatena nimittīkurvan parivitarkayati, saṃntīrayan parimīmāṃsāmāpadyata iti ||



api khalu [śamatha]vipaśyanāmāgamya catvāro mārgā iti catvāro mārgopadeśanāmadhikṛtya | tatra prathamaḥ śamathasya lābhitvādabhiniṣīdanneva cittaṃ sthāpayati yāvatsamādhatte, vipaśyānāyā alābhitvāttu samādhi niśritya paścātta thāniṣaṇṇastān dharmānvicinoti yāvatparimīmāṃsā māpadyate | dvitīyo viparyayeṇa veditavyaḥ | tṛtīyā ubhayasyālābhyubhayatra yogaṃ karoti | kathaṃ kṛtvā, śrutodgrahaṇa mukhena vivaśyanāyāṃ yogaṃ karoti tatpūrvakaṃ ca śamathe | caturtha ubhayasya lābhāt ||



ajñātamājñā syāmīndriyaṃ prayogamārge nirvedhabhāgīyasaṃgṛhīte pañcadaśasu ca darśanamārgacittakṣaṇeṣu yadindriyam, tadyathā manaindriyam, pañca śraddhādīni, anāgamyādiniśrayabhedena yathāsaṃbhavaṃ sukhasaumanasya daurmanasyopekṣendriyāṇāṃ cānyatamam | daurmanasyendriyaṃ punaḥ prayogakāle nirvedhabhāgīyapṛṣṭhenottaravimokṣaspṛhāsaṃgṛhītaṃ veditavyam | tadetatsaṃbhavato daśavidhamindriyamanājñātapūrvasya tattvasyājñā yai pravṛttatvādanājñātamājñāsyāmīndriyamityucyate | etadeva daśavidhamindriyaṃ ṣoḍaśāddarśanamārgacittakṣaṇādyāvadvajropamaḥ samādhirityetasminśaikṣamārge ājñendriyamityucyate, apūrvajñeyābhāvāt | etadeva punarnavavidhamindriyaṃ daurmanasyendriyavarjamaśaikṣamārge ājñātāvī ndriyamityucyate, ā jñātāvino'rhat indriyamiti kṛtvā ||



bhāvanā mārgādhikāreṇedamapi vakṣyate | ūrdhvabhūmike mārge saṃmukhībhāvena bhāvyamāne'saṃmukhībhūtānyapyadhobhūmi kāni kuśalamūlakāni bhāvanāṃ gacchanti, teṣu vibhutvalābhāt | vibhutvaṃ punaruttaptasaṃmukhī bhāvena taśitā veditavyā ||



niṣṭhāmārgaḥ sarvadauṣṭhulyānāṃ pratiprastrabdheriti vistaraḥ ||



tatra sarvadauṣṭhulyāni caturvitirbhavanti | tadyathā sarvatragamabhilāpadauṣṭhulyaṃ yā cakṣurādisarvadharmanāmā bhiniveśavāsanā''layavijñāne saṃniviṣṭā'nādikālānusṛtā, yā'sāvucyate prapañcavāsaneti, yataścakṣurādayo dharmāḥ sanāmā bhiniveśāḥ punaḥ punaḥ pravartanta iti | veditadauṣṭhulyaṃ sāstra vāṇāṃ vedanānāṃ vāsanā | kleśadauṣṭhulyaṃ kleśānāmanuśayaḥ | karmadauṣṭhulyaṃ sāstravāṇāṃ karmaṇāṃ vāsanā | vipākadauṣṭhulyaṃ vipākasyā karmaṇyatā | kleśāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ tībrāyatakleśatā | karmāvaraṇadauṣṭhalyaṃ mārgāntarāyikānantaryādikakarmāvṛtatā | vipākāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ satyābhisamayavidhuranārakādyātma bhāvapratilambhaḥ | nivaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ kuśalapakṣaprayogāntarāyikakāmachandādyabhibhūtatā | vitarkadauṣṭhulyaṃ pravrajyābhirati vivandhakāmavitarkādyabhibhūtatā | āhāradauṣṭhulyamatyalpabahubhojananena prayogāyogyatā | maithunadauṣṭhulyaṃ dvayadvayasamāpattikṛtā kāyacittavyathā | svapnadauṣṭhulyaṃ middhakṛtamāśrayajāḍyam | vyādhidauṣṭhulyaṃ dhātuvaiṣa myakṛtā'sva sthatā | jarādauṣṭhulyaṃ bhūtavipariṇāmakṛtā'vidheyatā | maraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ mriyamāṇasya sarvendriyākulatā | pariśramadauṣṭhulyamatigamanādikṛto'ṅgamardaḥ | dṛḍhadauṣṭhulyaṃ yathāsaṃbhavameta devābhilāpadauṣṭhulyādikamaparinirvāṇa vatām | audārikamadhyasūkṣma dauṣṭhulyāni yathākramaṃ kāmarūpārūpyāvacarāṇi veditavyāni | kleśāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ śrāvakapratyekabuddhabodhi[vi]pakṣaḥ | samāpattyāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ navā[nu]pūrvasamāpattyabhinirhāra[vi]pakṣaḥ | jñe yāvaraṇadauṣṭhulyaṃ sarvajñatāvipakṣaḥ | ityevameṣāṃ yathāyogaṃ sarvadauṣṭhulyānāṃ pratiprastravdheniṣṭhāmārgaḥ | yathoktaṃ - " tasya cetovimukteḥ pāripūryā prajñāvimukteḥ pāripūryā kāyadauṣṭhulyānāṃ pratiprastrabdheḥ | smṛtyā samanvāgamahetorevamasya prathamaṃ dvāraṃ sudāntaṃ bhavati suguptaṃ surakṣitaṃ susaṃvṛtaṃ subhāṣitam, yaduta cakṣurvijñeyeṣu rūpeṣvevaṃ yāvanmano vijñeyeṣu dharmeṣvi" ti ||



vajropamaḥ samādhirbhāvanāmārgasyāntyā prahāṇamārgāvasthā veditavyā | sa ca samādhirnirantarastatpravāharaya laukikena mārge ṇāntarākhaṇḍanāt | dṛḍhaḥ sarvāvaraṇairacchidraṇāt sarvāvaraṇabheditayā ca sāratvāt | ekarasa iti nirvikalpaikarasatvāt | vyāpī sarvajñeyasāmānyatathatālaṃvanatvāt | etadarthapratibimbanārtha bhagavatoktam - tadyathā mahāśailaḥ parvato'khaṇḍo'cchidro'śuṣira ekadhanaḥ susaṃvṛta iti ||



nirantarāśrayaparivṛttividhā'rśakṣamārgalābhinaḥ | cittāśrayaparivṛttirdharmatā, cittasya prakṛtiprabhāsvarasyāśeṣāgantukopakleśā pagamādyā parivṛttiḥ, tathatāparivṛttirityarthaḥ | mārgāśrayaparivṛtiḥ pūrva laukiko mārgo'bhisamayakāle lokottaratvena parivṛtaḥ śaikṣaścocyate sā vaśeṣakaraṇīyatvāt | yadā tu nirhatāśeṣavipakṣo bhavati traidhātukavairāgyāttadāsya mārgasvabhāvasyāśrayasya paripūrṇā parivṛttirvyavasthāpyate | dauṣṭhulyāśrayaparivṛttirālayavijñānasya sarvakleśānuśayāpagamena parivṛttirveditavyā ||



kṣaye sati, viṣaye vā tasmin yajjñānaṃ kṣaya jñānametaduktaṃ bhavati | niravaśeṣaṃ prakṣīṇe samudaye yajjñānaṃ tadavasthasya hetunirodhālaṃbanaṃ vā kṣayajñānamiti ||



tathānutpāde sati viṣaye vā tasmin yajjñānamanutpādajñānam āyatyāṃ sarvasya duḥkhasyātyantamanutpattidharmatāyāṃ satyāṃ yajjñānamanyasatyālaṃbanamiti | yadvā duḥkhasatyānutpādālaṃbanaṃ tadanutpādajñānamityarthaḥ ||



daśāśaikṣā dharmā aśaikṣāñchīlādīn pañca skandhānadhikṛtya | tatra aśaikṣā samyagvākka rmāntājīvā aśaikṣaśīlaskandhaḥ | samyaksmṛtisamādhiḥ samādhiskandhaḥ | samyagdṛṣṭi saṃkalpavyāyāmāḥ prajñāskandhaḥ | samyagvimuktirvimuktiskandhaḥ | samyagjñānaṃ vimuktirjñānadarśanaskandha iti ||



punarmārgasatyasya catvāra ākārāścatvāri lakṣaṇāni | tatra tattvārtha mārgayatyaneti mārgaḥ | aya[thā]bhūtānāṃ kleśānāṃ pratipakṣatvāt nyāyaḥ | tattvānavavodhadoṣeṇānityādiviparyāsairviparyastasya cittasyāviparyāse tattvāvavodhe pratipādanātpratipat | nitya ātyantike niḥsaraṇapade yānānnairyāṇika iti ||



duḥkhādisatyeṣvanityādayaḥ ṣoḍaśākārā laukikā lokottarāśca santi | tatra laukikā jñeye'praviṣṭāḥ sāvaraṇāḥ savikalpāśca, tathatāyā aprativedhāt kleśānuśayitvādabhilāpamukhena prapañcanācca yathākramam | viparyayeṇa lokottarāḥ supraviṣṭā nirāvaraṇāśca santo nirvikalpatayā laukikebhyo viśiṣyante | kathaṃ punarete'vikalpayanto jñeyeṣu praviṣṭā bhavanti | yasmādeteṣu vartamāno'nityārtha paśyati sākṣādanubhavati, na tvanityamiti paśyatyabhilāpaprapañcamukheneti | evaṃ duḥkhādiṣvākāreṣu yojayitavyam ||
